I Can See The Force - A Wolfwren Fanfiction

I Can See the Force - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! I have just posted a new one-shot in which Shin gets really drunk and Sabine and Ezra have to guide her back to the shuttle... Not that she's cooperating much! Here is the beginning and if you want to real the whole story the link will be at the end!

After a successful mission, it had become a tradition for Shin and Sabine to get a drink at the nearest bar they could find. This time, Ezra had been fighting with them, and so it was only logical to invite him along. They sat around a small table in the middle of the bar. A life band was playing in one corner, the music interrupted only by the shouts of some patrons or the sound of the hard balls bouncing off each other at the pool table.

Sabine kept glancing at the wall, where a dartboard hung. Shin had noticed her wife’s shifting attention. She knew the longer Sabine was mulling the thought over, the harder she wanted to issue a challenge. The question was, would she challenge Shin or Ezra? When Sabine finished her beer and finally spoke up about it, she tried to make the challenge sound casual:

“Anyone interested in a little game of darts?”

Shin and Ezra exchanged a look. Since neither of them replied, Sabine frowned.

“What?”

“How much?” Ezra asked.

“How much what?”

“How much are we betting? What’s at stakes?”

Sabine crossed her arms.

“We don’t have to bet anything. I was just offering a friendly game.”

Shin shook her head.

“We both know there is no such thing as a friendly game of anything with you.”

Sabine gasped.

“Fine. No darts.”

Ezra sighed. From his pocket, he pulled out a silver ingot of credits and placed it on the table.

“I bet I can hit dead center for all six shots,” he said.

Sabine chuckled.

“You’re so on.”

She tried to reach for the credit but Ezra slid it off the table and stood up. Sabine followed him to the dart board. Shin finished her drink before standing up. Foreseeing that they would be at the bar for another hour, at least, she told them:

“I’m gonna get us more drinks.”

Cross the Line - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! Can't believe @wolfwrenweek is over already! For my final story this year, I have a roommate AU where Sabine finds a stray kitten. It's very fun, and I hope you'll all enjoy it! Here is the beginning and the link to the rest of the story will be at the end!

Shin started watching TV just as the rain started falling. As she was immersed in the plot of the show, she did not notice the sky blackening to the point that the apartment was plunged in darkness. She heard the rain pick up in intensity, but did not see the flashes of thunder outside, as they merged with the bright glow of the TV.

The apartment door opened and she jumped. It took her a second to catch her breath. The familiar voice of her roommate made her feel like an idiot for having been spooked in the first place.

“What the hell is going on with this weather? Is it some kind of tropical storm sweeping north?”

Shin could not see Sabine in the hall, but she did not pay her any mind. It was rather typical of them to have short, meaningless conversations. Shin had moved into Sabine’s apartment six months ago now, but she had warned her ahead of time that she liked to do things her way, and she wasn’t much for conversation. At the time, Sabine had told her it would be fine, yet still she attempted to make conversation very often.

Shin would not have paid her any more attention, in fact, if Sabine didn’t turn on the living room light, blinding Shin. She blinked and squinted at her roommate.

“Could you not?”

“Sorry.”

Sabine turned to go into her bedroom when Shin noticed that something was off. There was an unnatural budge in her sweater. The material was straining against her chest, which never happened because Sabine’s chest wasn’t that big – not that Shin had spent any time thinking about her chest at all – and she was keeping a hand on it. She was hiding something.

“Sabine? What’s that in your sweater?”

Sabine stopped dead in her tracks. She kept her back to Shin.

“Nothing, don’t worry about it.”

“I’m not an idiot.”

Sabine sighed, and turned around. Indeed, she was cradling something through her sweater.

“So… how do you feel about cats?” she asked.

A Kiss for a Gift - a Wolfwren Christmas fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! As advertised multiple times I've posted a Christmas one-shot set in my High School AU. Here is the beginning and if you want to read the whole story the link will be at the end!

The Life Day Market of Capital City was the biggest in Lothal. The whole plaza at the foot of the central tower was taken over by lights, wooden chalets and all the Life Day decorations the place could handle, green and red and gold everywhere the eye stopped. People lined up for warm drinks and hot treats. Vendors displayed jewelry and paintings and socks, the perfect gift for your family on Life Day. And Sabine had had the terrible idea of letting Hera sign her up as a volunteer, again.

All the streets leading into the plaza had been closed off except two, the entrance and the exit. A banner hung above the entrance, welcoming everyone into the market. If it wasn’t enough, however, Sabine was the extra welcome. She sat in a tiny wooden box at the corner of the entrance, too cramped up to move. She was supposed to give additional information to the people, but she wasn’t even sure what information she could give them. There was no map to the market, it was made up of two concentric circles of cabins and impossible to get lost in. The time the market opened and closed? They had a big sign near every entrance for that. People walked by her without sparing her a glance, probably as confused by her presence as she was annoyed by it. She scrolled on her phone, draining the battery to keep boredom at bay. She’d brought a pad and pencil to draw but she barely had the space to move her arms.

At least she had avoided the role of one of the droids in the Santa Clause factory like the year before, she thought as Ezra brushed his way back to her, dressed in a poor man’s droid’s costume.

“Why did I have to be a droid?” he complained as he leaned over the small counter of Sabine’s booth.

“I don’t know what’s more cramped. This box or your droid costume.”

“It’s the costume, trust me.”

He tugged on the sleeves yet they continued to hike up past his wrists.

“Anyway, Hera is asking if you want a snack.”

Sabine sighed. The only privilege of working for the market was that they didn’t have to cue twenty minutes for a crepe. Still, with her legs cramping up and her elbows rubbing against wood all day, it didn’t feel worth it. And if the PA system behind her played that stupid Life Day song again, she was going to take it down herself.

Ezra stared at her, waiting for an answer. Her gaze migrated away from her brother to the familiar blonde who had just squeezed through the crowd at the entrance. A big smile appeared on Sabine’s lips as she spotted Shin. She waved at her. Shin gave her a small smile and brushed past the crowd to get to her.

Is It Casual Now? - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with a new multichapter story, this one is a Firefighter AU. Here is an extract and if you want to read the whole chapter the link will be at the end!

When Old Jho pushed the glass back in front of her, Sabine took a sip then said:

“I don’t think I’ve seen you here before.”

The blonde’s attention turned to her. She had cold, piercing green eyes, almost blue in the dim bar. Her lips were set in a neutral line, as if she didn’t quite care to engage Sabine in conversation. Sabine added:

“New recruit?”

The blonde shrugged.

“Not really. Reassigned.”

“Bad captain or need for a change of scenery?”

“Neither. Don’t get used to seeing me around here anyway. It’s only a matter of time before I get reassigned again.”

The blonde picked up her drink and finished it. Sabine watched her with a slight frown. She assumed the blonde was a temp, shifted from station to station to fill in whenever someone had to take a leave.

“Well, I hope you enjoy your time on this side of the city.”

She raised her glass as a welcoming gesture, then took another sip. The blonde motioned for Old Jho to give her another drink. While they waited, Sabine thought she’d introduced herself.

“I’m Sabine.”

“Shin,” the blonde replied curtly.

“Are you alone tonight? No welcome crew from the station trying to show you a good time?”

Shin shrugged.

“What’s the point? Like I said, I’ll be gone in a few weeks.”

“You never try to make friends with people in your station?”

Shin shook her head.

“How about people from other stations?” Sabine asked in a low voice.

Shin must have gotten her meaning, as her eyes roamed down Sabine’s face, to her plaid shirt and jeans. Sabine smirked. When Shin’s eyes returned to her, she was smirking too. Sabine liked where this was going.

Art is Subjective - a Wolfwren fic

A/N: Hello everyone! I just uploaded a new one-shot on AO3, it is an art gallery AU and also it is E rated ;) Here is the beginning and if you want to read the whole thing, the link will be at the end!

As Shin grabbed another glass of champagne, she wondered why they never served anything stronger than champagne at all those business meetings. On the one hand, she could understand wanting to be clear-minded while talking business. On the other, these functions were always so boring. If she had known that she would have to attend these regularly when she agreed to work for Baylan, she would have gone back to working the graveyard shift at Dex’s Diner. It paid almost just as much and she didn’t have to deal with pedantic assholes, only the regular variety.

She wondered between the art pieces without sparing them more than a glance. She only needed to look busy, so Baylan wouldn’t reprimand her for standing around in a corner. If she looked as if she were participating, she could have a relatively unbothered evening. She kept one hand in the pocket of her gray suit, the other holding the glass and twirling the content within. That was the only anxious fidgeting she was allowed. She couldn’t check her phone every minute because it would only depress her, and the only clock on the wall was a piece of art, one of those melted clocks that no one found original anymore.

When a group of trader-looking men stood at the end of her path, blocking her access to the rest of the room, she had no other choice but to stop and contemplate the painting hanging from the wall. It was a Mandalorian helmet, or at least someone wearing a Madanlorian helmet, but every refraction of the light on the helmet was wrong, distorted, it showed too much or too little.

“Pretty interesting, don’t you think?”

“No, not really,” Shin replied as she turned to the woman who had joined her.

She was awestruck for a second, but a second was all she allowed herself. The woman had short purple hair, brushed back and away from her clever brown eyes. A mole stood out at the edge of her cheekbone. Her hands were tugged in the pockets of a dark orange suit jacket. Beneath, she wore a form-fitting top. Upon hearing Shin’s reply, she frowned.

“You don’t find it interesting?”

“No, I don’t. I find it pretentious.”

The Never Named City - A RubyxChristina story

A/N: Hey guys! Here’s an extract from my new Ruby/Christina story, in which Leti has mysteriously disappeared and it’s up to Ruby with the help of her ex Christina to find her. If you’re interested, the link to the first chapter is at the bottom!

"They couldn't find her."

Ruby clicked her tongue. This was the opposite of what she'd wanted to hear. Marvin continued:

"They found her car, but apparently there was nothing inside that could help them locate her. And Ruby... They're calling off the search."

"Like Hell they are! It's their job!"

"It's been over a week, Ruby. They have nothing, and it's a heavily inhabited area. If she'd come out of the forest someone would have seen her. They've searched every inch of it."

Ruby listened to what her brother had to say, but it didn't mean she liked any of it.

"They didn't search every inch of the place, because if they had, they would have found her! What if she's trapped under rubble or something?"

"She didn't have any supplies with her. If she got trapped under something... after a week..."

"Don't say it."

"Ruby..."

"Fine! If they won't find her then I will."

She hung up on her brother before she could get any angrier. She wanted to throw her phone away but she refrained, instead she sighed, willing the fury out of her lungs.

Leti had disappeared a week ago. She was in Massachusetts, taking pictures of the nature around Mount Everett for a magazine. There was nothing out of the ordinary about that. She'd been there for a few days, walking up and down the many open trails, taking pictures. And then, she'd stopped replying to Ruby's messages, hadn't answered any calls. Her phone was found in her car, the car parked in the bushes at the foot of the mountain. Her camera was missing. She was missing. And the police were calling off the search.

Ruby began pacing around her apartment. She would not give up on her sister like that. The mere thought of Leti struggling under a falling rock, fighting to get out, calling for help but being unheard... Ruby couldn't stand it. She could not and would not stand here and wait until her little sister's body was recovered. She would find her before it was too late.

She went to her bedroom and began packing a bag. She was already thinking about what would be the faster way to get to Massachusetts. The bus would be longer but cheaper. She would take the bus then, and walk to the top of Mount Everett and back a hundred times if she had to. Until she found Leti, alive. Once she'd packed the clothes she thought she would need, she went looking for the shoebox under her bed, where she kept her emergency money. It was an old habit she'd gotten from her mom. The box contained some four hundred dollars, and she packed it all. She paused when she noticed the picture hidden underneath. She hadn't seen this photo in a long time. It had been taken a few years old, by Leti, during a music festival. In the photo, Ruby was smiling, looking at the band playing on stage, while her ex kissed her cheek.

Ruby felt her heart clench. It felt as though this picture had been taken in another life. She closed off the box and shoved it back under her bed. As she stood up and stuffed the wad of bills in her suitcase, a little insidious voice whispered in her mind 'Christina could help'. Ruby shushed the little voice. Christina could not help because Christina was too busy. She was always too busy. Too busy for Ruby anyway. Why else would they have broken up? But Christina grew up in Massachusetts, she had an influence there, people that might help find Leti. Ruby wanted to scream. How was it that the only person who could help her was the only person whom she didn't want to see?

She swallowed and felt her throat was constricted tighter than she'd thought. Too many conflicting emotions were going on in her mind. For Leti, she decided, she could swallow her pride. She could ask Christina for help. However, she didn't promise that she wouldn't break something if the blonde refused to help.

Fury to end All Furies - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! Here is a new addition to the Ahsoka season 2 and Beyond series, about a mission gone wrong and featuring a special guest! Here is an extract and you can find the link to the first part of two at the end!

When darkness fell over the city, Shin left their hotel room and took a turn of the neighborhood. Sabine was on the rooftop of their hotel to watch the sky. The second moon was on the rise already. If their intel were correct, then the cargo would leave the city when the third moon rose. That mysterious cargo had been tracked by New Republic spies over multiple planets. It was changed location often. Hera suspected their owner was onto them and wouldn’t bring it home. She was done playing games. She wanted the cargo taken and its smugglers captured. If it contained weapons, just as she suspected, it might take them one step closer to dismantling another remnant of the Empire.

Shin kept her hood up as she slithered through the crowd. Workers enjoying a drink after a hard day in the mines. Regulars already half a drink away from sleep. Young people going to the neon bathed clubs. She walked past them like a ghost, gaze scanning for anything suspicious. So far, nothing. She walked toward the shipyard, where small shuttles were being refurbished for new service.

“No sign of trouble yet,” she said.

“Want to get a drink afterward?” Sabine suggested.

“Mission first.”

“Of course. We can celebrate after.”

Sabine’s voice was low. It sent shivers to the base of Shin’s spine, unravelling her focus.

“After,” Shin replied, like a promise.

She heard the faint sound of a grappling firing and knew Sabine had changed location, moving closer to the shipyard. The rest of the crowd was none the wiser. Ahead, someone inserted coins into a music box and drumbeats flooded the street. Shin walked past and down a set of stairs. The shipyard was in sight.

“I see something,” Sabine said.

Shin stopped around a dim corner, the streetlight above pale with age.

“Define something.”

“Movement.”

Shin pushed herself away from the wall and walked faster toward the shipyard. Music lingered behind her. Now that the workday was over, the path to the shipyard was empty.

“This isn’t good.”

Shin picked up speed.

“What are you seeing?”

“They’re moving the cargo already. Toward a small ship. I thought the third moon didn’t rise for another hour.”

Vacation at Lanupa - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! I wrote a crossover between Skeleton crew and Wolfwren! It's just as fun as the original show but with our favorite girls to supervise the kids (or at least try to). Here is the beginning and if you want to read the whole chapter the link will be at the end!

Raising a kid – even a smart kid like Uschi – took a lot more energy that either Sabine or Shin had assumed. A year had passed since they’d decided to take care of her, and already Sabine felt ten years older. It seemed others had also noticed her tiredness. When her birthday came around, her family gave her a weekend at a spa and resort. She obviously took Shin with her, and while Uschi begged them to come to – puppy eyes and pouts and all – for once Sabine didn’t feel bad leaving her behind. The resort did not accept children, so Uschi had to stay with Hera.

Lanupa was a large, cold planet covered with mountains. If the coordinates leading to the resort hadn’t been so precise, Sabine knew they could have spent the weekend searching for it. They were almost there when two security drones came to guide them.

“Welcome to Lanupa, A neutral planet where all are welcome if they keep the peace. Violators will be shot down,” said the robotic voice that hailed them.

“They don’t joke around with security,” Shin commented.

“Please be advised that children are not allowed. Do you have a reservation?”

“Oh no, we have a reservation,” Sabine replied as she leaned back into her seat and let the auto piloting sequence take the ETA-class shuttle to the landing pad.

Beside her, Shin had sunk into her seat, arms crossed. Or maybe we do have a child, Sabine thought with amusement. It wasn’t that Shin didn’t welcome a restful weekend, but mostly that a spa was not Shin’s idea of relaxation. Slicing up a bunch of bad guys with her lightsaber was Shin’s idea of relaxation. Sabine had had to cajole her into coming with her – and mostly sell her the idea of all they could do in a big hotel bed without a kid in the vicinity – to convince her to come. Shin had wanted to stay and watch over Uschi, at first. Sabine suspected she also had a bit of separation anxiety. How things had changed.

Their shuttle was taken to a large, circular landing pad at the edge of the resort. Looking out the window, Sabine could see the star-shaped resort sat atop a snowy mountain, and the pools of steaming, volcanic water down below. As she waited for their ship to land, she wondered whether Krownest would make a good spa and resort. Turning her ancestral home into a resort would most likely get her on Bo-Katan’s bad side.

The shuttle landed with a shake, and Sabine unbuckled her seatbelt and went to pick her up their traveling bags. Shin took another second to get out of her seat before joining her. Sabine placed a hand on her cheek, drawing her close and not allowing her to step away until she had looked her in the eyes.

“Hey, stop pouting. You look like Uschi when she wants ice cream.”
