What if, when Petunia Dursley found a little boy on her front doorstep, she took him in? Not into the cupboard under the stairs, not into a twisted childhood of tarnished worth and neglect–what if she took him in?

Petunia was jealous, selfish and vicious. We will not pretend she wasn’t. She looked at that boy on her doorstep and thought about her Dudders, barely a month older than this boy. She looked at his eyes and her stomach turned over and over. (Severus Snape saved Harry’s life for his eyes. Let’s have Petunia save it despite them).

Let’s tell a story where Petunia Dursley found a baby boy on her doorstep and hated his eyes–she hated them. She took him in and fed him and changed him and got him his shots, and she hated his eyes up until the day she looked at the boy and saw her nephew, not her sister’s shadow. When Harry was two and Vernon Dursley bought Dudley a toy car and Harry a fast food meal with a toy with parts he could choke on Petunia packed her things and got a divorce.

Harry grew up small and skinny, with knobbly knees and the unruly hair he got from his father. He got cornered behind the dumpsters and in the restrooms, got blood on the jumpers Petunia had found, half-price, at the hand-me-down store. He was still chosen last for sports. But Dudley got blood on his sweaters, too, the ones Petunia had found at the hand-me-down store, half price, because that was all a single mother working two secretary jobs could afford for her two boys, even with Vernon’s grudging child support.

They beat Harry for being small and they laughed at Dudley for being big, and slow, and dumb. Students jeered at him and teachers called Dudley out in class, smirked over his backwards letters.

Harry helped him with his homework, snapped out razored wit in classrooms when bullies decided to make Dudley the butt of anything; Harry cornered Dudley in their tiny cramped kitchen and called him smart, and clever, and ‘better ‘n all those jerks anyway’ on the days Dudley believed it least.

Dudley walked Harry to school and back, to his advanced classes and past the dumpsters, and grinned, big and slow and not dumb at all, at anyone who tried to mess with them.

But was that how Petunia got the news? Her husband complained about owls and staring cats all day long and in the morning Petunia found a little tyke on her doorsep. This was how the wizarding world chose to give the awful news to Lily Potter’s big sister: a letter, tucked in beside a baby boy with her sister’s eyes.

There were no Potters left. Petunia was the one who had to arrange the funeral. She had them both buried in Godric’s Hollow. Lily had chosen her world and Petunia wouldn’t steal her from it, not even in death. The wizarding world had gotten her sister killed; they could stand in that cold little wizard town and mourn by the old stone.

(Petunia would curl up with a big mug of hot tea and a little bit of vodka, when her boys were safely asleep, and toast her sister’s vanished ghost. Her nephew called her ‘Tune’ not 'Tuney,’ and it only broke her heart some days.

Before Harry was even three, she would look at his green eyes tracking a flight of geese or blinking mischieviously back at her and she would not think 'you have your mother’s eyes.’

A wise old man had left a little boy on her doorstep with her sister’s eyes. Petunia raised a young man who had eyes of his very own).

Petunia snapped and burnt the eggs at breakfast. She worked too hard and knew all the neighbors’ worst secrets. Her bedtime stories didn’t quite teach the morals growing boys ought to learn: be suspicious, be wary; someone is probably out to get you. You owe no one your kindness. Knowledge is power and let no one know you have it. If you get can get away with it, then the rule is probably meant for breaking.

Harry grew up loved. Petunia still ran when the letters came. This was her nephew, and this world, this letter, these eyes, had killed her sister. When Hagrid came and knocked down the door of some poor roadside motel, Petunia stood in front of both her boys, shaking. When Hagrid offered Harry a squashed birthday cake with big, kind, clumsy hands, he reminded Harry more than anything of his cousin.

His aunt was still shaking but Harry, eleven years and eight minutes old, decided that any world that had people like his big cousin in it couldn’t be all bad. “I want to go,” Harry told his aunt and he promised to come home.

Boba Fett's reputation as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy comes from him pulling off an insane number of jobs throughout his life, some of which were even deemed impossible for a lone hunter to pull off

funnily enough, he doesn't actually remember completing all of the ones people attribute to him, but after seeing the footage and biometric proof, he assumes that he's been blacking out and entering some sort of exhaustion fugue state, or maybe he's just had a few too many concussions

it's not until he tries to claim a puck from the guild and is told that he's already working that job that he starts to figure out that something more is going on, and decides to investigate who it is that's been working this job

as it turns out, there's actually like ten different escaped clones pulling bounties under his name, considering they all share the same DNA and face, who've put together a few fake versions of his father's armor

many of them even work in teams, trading off who gets to 'play Boba' to the guild or clients

(they've also been using their shared DNA to access his space netflix account, which explains why the recommendation algorithm never seems to figure out what he likes and keeps telling him that he's already watched shows he finds)

(strangely, he realizes that they haven't touched any of his bank accounts, despite the fact that they could certainly have gotten through their security measures the same way)

after discovering this, he considers confronting them, killing them, even just turning them in to the guild

but then he'd lose some of his reputation if it comes out that impersonators can mimic him well enough to get the job done just as well as he could

so he just sends them all a message telling them to not fuck this up and continues with this life

with new pictures of Hayden Christensen floating around I keep seeing people saying 'imagine if Anakin didn't turn bad, the biggest problem for Luke and Leia would be that their dad is a dilf and all their friends swoon over him when he comes to pick them up from school'

and yes of course that's valid because Anakin would absolutely be casually leaning against his modified speeder with sunglasses on dressed in black like a model but please imagine the twins getting horrified by their friends drooling over him and going "dad you're not allowed to show your face at school now, mom will come pick us up" but HAVE YOU SEEN RECENT PICTURES OF NATALIE PORTMAN?

the twins have zero ideas how hot their parents are, they're just their lame parents, they don't realise that their mom has the face of Natalie Portman and the second their friends see her they're like "your father is a dilf and your mother is a former queen and the nicest AND hottest milf in the galaxy?? you guys are so lucky"

Leia is traumatised and almost shaking, saying, "this is the worst. I can't believe our parents are...." She makes a horrible gagging sound. "...Hot."

"I know, I can't believe it either," Luke groans.

"Next time we'll ask Obi-Wan to come pick us up."

"Oh good idea! It's not like anyone would find old uncle Ben hot!"

"Yes, that's impossible," Leia replies, relieved.

"Impossible!" Luke laughs.

Part 6/7 - Previous / Next / First

Part 6/7 - Previous / Next / First

Track: ‘We All Lift Together (From "Warframe")’ - Keith Power

They were on the other side of a raging inferno, a lava filled cut in this Sith forsaken planet. And despite it truly being too far to see what was happening clearly, Gree knew immediately that the people wielding sabers towards Palpatine were not the Jedi it should be.

The feeling of fear was only confirmed when Master Luminara came barreling onto their position. “Master Yoda! The force-”

“Calls for the clones, it does,” Yoda cut her off, slicing seamlessly through the droids on Gree's right.

Luminara seemed to be a mix of emotions, a turmoil Gree so rarely saw her suffer through. But in the end it seemed to have a peaceful conclusion. Luminara took a breath, then turned off her lightsaber. And before Gree could think of why she would do such a thing in the middle of a warzone, she was holding it out toward him.

“What- General, what am I supposed to do with that?”

“Protect us as you always have, Commander Gree,” she stated simply, as if there could be no other answer.

And then Yoda was beside her, having cleared the area for the needed moment of peace. “Your lives you always give. Ours, we give now.” And then Grand Master Yoda himself was offering his small lightsaber, blade end facing inwards.

It was all in a blink, but the two Jedi could feel the hesitation take hold of Gree. His fear of losing his family clashing against the fear of it being his fault, his failure. “Gree,” Luminara argued to the unspoken thought. “You have always listened and learned, always cared when all you were supposed to do was fight. Continue to open yourself to the world around you, the force flowing in it, and you will always be able to find your family amongst it. Together, you will all come back home.”

In a short breath Gree found that despite it all, a part of him knew she was right. This was right. Fighting with his brothers was what he was really made for. Learning from them, loving them, and protecting them no matter what. Why should this moment be any different? Why would he ever stop now?

Feeling the shift of hope, Yoda gave Gree a rare gremlin like chuckle. “Besides, remember how to make my stew, no one else can. Come back then, you shall.”

“We trust in you,” Luminara insisted, now smiling softly. “Always.”

It now felt so simple, like something within Gree was laughing that he ever thought there could be another path. His brothers, all of them; they needed this, needed him. And it was with a newfound determination that Gree finally nodded, gently taking the sabers and then holding them firm as he ignited them. The group was bathed bright in the color they shared, and though it was an odd sensation, Gree realized he knew exactly what he needed to do. But- “I’ll never reach them in time. They’re already fighting and I can’t-”

Yoda was suddenly shuffling past him, faster than the Gree always suspected he ever should be. “Trust in the force, you clones may not always; but trust in me, do you?”

“Of course,” Gree answered, a bit surprised at how quick the answer came now.

“Then jump, you shall.” Yoda outstretched a sure hand toward him. “And trust, you will.”
