Y/n stood with Sky and Silva at the entrance of the school, relieved that the whole burned ones were over. Y/n leaned on her father in content as his arm was wrapped around her shoulder, both relieved that both were okay. Sky smiled at y/n slightly before continuing his conversation with Silva.
Y/n was a fire fairy, having got her fairy traits from her mother, who she never knew as she left when she was three. Her dad practically raised her himself, her and Sky, who was two years older than her and taken in by her father when she was five. Sky's father was y/n's godfather so Sky and Y/n had always been close, and always considered each other brother and sister. She never knew much about Sky's father, just knowing that he had died during an attack on the burned ones before. Silva never told her how he died, only telling Sky recently the truth.
Y/n's thoughts were interrupted when she heard the sounds of cars on the gravel leading to the school. She looked ahead at the gates to see black cars coming into view, solarian flags flying in the front of the bonnet. Sky and y/n looked at each other, frowning in confusion.
"Dad, Why are the solarians here" Y/n asked her father, looking up at him in confusion. "I dunno, I told them the attack was over." Silva replied to his daughter, watching as the cars came to a stop. The trio watched as soldiers jumped out of the cars, forming a circle around them. "What the hell is going on?" Sky asked, going for his sword only for Silva to stop him. "Sky." Silva warned, glancing at the blonde before turning his attention back to the front as the Queen came into view. "The queen." Sky stated, looking down at y/n to see her reaction.
Y/n had always had mixed feelings about the queen, and the royal family as a whole. When she was young, just after her mother had left her and her father, the queen had tried to take y/n away from her father. Queen Luna believed that y/n was special, why y/n was never told, and wanted her to fight with the solarian soldiers, a protector of royalty of some sorts.
Silva watched his daughter carefully and seeing the wariness on her face, took her hand and squeezed it in comfort, smiling in reassurance when she looked up at him. As the Queen stopped in front of tem he stood in front of her, watching as Luna looked over y/n.
"Y/n Silva, still as beautiful as I remember." Queen Luna commented on the young fairy as she hid behind her father. "Your majesty." Silva nodded, trying to get the attention off his daughter. "Saul Silva, it is with a heavy heart that I must put you under arrest." Queen Luna spoke, looking at the specialist with a poker face. "For what?" Sky asked, moving closer towards those he called family. "For the attempted murder of Andreas of Eraklyon." Y/n looked at her dad with horror, not believing what had been said. "Attempted?" Y/n asked softly, causing Silva and Luna to look down at her, her father pulling her closer to him. A door was heard causing everyones attention to turn ahead as someone stepped out of the car. "Hello Sky." The man with a beard stated with a ruff voice. "Dad." Sky asked with wide eyes.
Y/n turned to her father as footsteps were heard coming towards them, Silva's heart dropping at the look of fear on her face. Deciding to comfort her before it was too late, he took both her hands and turned her to face him before bringing a hand to her cheek, smiling slightly as tears built in both of their eyes.
"It's going to be okay, alright. Stay with Sky, okay, he'll look after you." Silva stated in a rush, kissing her head and going to hug her only to be pulled back. "No, dad, dad." Y/n cried, rushing towards him only to be pulled back. "You'll be fine y/n." Her dad tried to comfort her as he was pulled towards the car. "No, daddy please, don't leave me." Y/n shouted in pain, trying to get to her father only for soldiers to hold her back. "I'll be okay y/n, everything will be fine, just stay calm and don't lose control." Silva stated, his heart breaking as he heard his daughter called out, unable to comfort her as she only called him that when she was vulnerable. "Dad, no." Y/n cried, her voice going hoarse, bringing her hand up to the soldiers and burning them to let go of her. "It's okay, you have Sky." Her dad stated as the queen blocked y/n's vision when her father was placed in the car. "Shush child, it will all be okay." The queen tried to comfort her only for her to flinch and form a fire ball in her hand. "No, no, no." Y/n muttered continuously, watching as the car drove off, Silva glancing back at his daughter for the last time. "Y/n, it's okay." Sky stated once he was freed from the soldiers hold, moving to comfort his unbiological sister. "Sky, my dad, he.." Y/n was unable to speak. "Come here." Sky stated, pulling the younger girl into a hug, kissing her forehead slightly.
Y/n cried into Sky's chest as Sky comforted her, him watching as the fire she created slowly distinguishing as she eased into his comfort. Sniffs were heard from the young girl as she tried to calm down, Sky shushing her as he rubbed her back.
Seeing movement from the corner of his eye, Sky turned his attention to the side only to see Andreas, his father, walking towards Queen Luna with a box in his hands. His eyes only narrowed in concern as he watched the queen open it and take out a diamond spiderlike object
"Wait, what are you doing?" Sky asked as the Queen began walking towards them, causing y/n to turn and look in fear. "Things are about to change here, and with her emotions y/n is a threat." The queen spoke, moving closer to the two students. "Your actions are what caused her emotions." Sky stated angrily, grabbing y/n and pushing her behind him. "Doesn't matter, y/n needs to be controlled." The queen stated, moving towards y/n only for Sky to step in her way. "Sky, move." Andreas warned his son, crossing his arms. Sky looked at her father before looking at y/n who looked at him in fear. "Sky, please." Y/n begged, not knowing what was to happen. "Y/n." Sky stated, not used to seeing her so vulnerable, only for soldiers to force him out of the way. "This will help us control you if needed, we wouldn't want any accidents now, would we." The queen spoke before turning y/n around and moving down her jacket, embedding the object into her back.
Y/n screamed in pain, trying to get away from the thing that was being stuck into her back. Sky tried but failed to escape the guards grip, leaving him to only watch as y/n cried out. Seconds later the Queen stepped back and y/n looked back at the metal object that was not lodged into her back before glancing back at the Queen, noticing Rosalind joining the royals side.
"Things are about to change y/n, I'd hate to have to use more force on you." Rosalind spoke before they all walked away.
The guards let go of Sky before following their leaders tail, allowing Sky to rush over to Y/n. He grabbed her arm as he reached her and gently forced her to turn around so he could look at the foreign object in her back. Y/n groaned in pain as he touched it.
"Sorry." Sky apologized, removing his hand from it. "What is it Sky?" Y/n asked, not able to look back. "I dunno, I've never seen anything like it before." Sky stated, frowning in concern as his hand moved against the blood that dripped. "What's going to happen to my dad." Y/n asked, tearing up again. "I dunno y/n, he'll go for trial but after that, it's up to the queen really." Placing y/ns jack back over her shoulder before turning her to face him, "But you and I, we need to stick together, I don't know what's going to happen next but whatever that is, we'll have each other okay." Sky stated, putting a hand on y/n's uninjured shoulder in comfort. "I just want my dad." Y/n stated, face scrunching as tears began to fall.
Sky sighed and pulled y/n into a hug, not knowing what to say that would comfort the essentially newly fatherless girl. He knew that Silva was doubtful in having a easy outcome, and right now he couldn't really care less, but he was going to be there for y/n regardless, she didn't do anything to him.
Realizing that it wouldn't be a great idea to leave y/n on her own tonight, Sky opted to bring her to his room, it was part of break anyway so no one would be around. When they reached his dorm the two just sat in silence until y/n began crying loudly, unable to catch her breath. Sky just pulled her into his chest and lay back on the bed, knowing that this night was going to be a restless one. Afterall, the girl just wanted her dad.

Info: Young y/n Bridgerton loves everything to with Christmas, especially the lights that line the streets in December
Relationship: Bridgerton family x sister reader
Anthony Bridgerton watched with a roll of his eyes as his 5 year old sister bounced around the place, excitement evident through her. Today was the first week in December, and the town were going to turn on their lights to officially kick off the Christmas season. Each year they made a big event of it, with the Queen hosting a ball for the newly wedded couples of the year , one which even the children could join. The eldest Bridgerton knew how much his sister loved Christmas, but ever since she could talk it seemed her excitement had grown.
“Y/n, please calm down, you will cause yourself injury.” Anthony scolded the child before looking to the door as his wife walked in. “Oh let her be, she is excited for what’s to come.” Kate smiled, wrapping her arms around her husband from behind. “Yes brother, you do know why y/n is like this.” Benedict remarked from the bay window, paint brush in hand. “I do, but I would much rather not have y/n miss the one ball she can attend to.” Anthony raised his voice at the last bit, looking at y/n as she quietened down. “How much longer?” The little girl whined to her brothers, running over to pull out of Anthony’s arm. “Perhaps you should go find mama, getting ready may speed things up for you.” Anthony teased his youngest sister, poking her nose causing y/n to giggle. “I’m gonna wear a red dress.” Y/n remarked, running out of the room. “Oh how lovely, she shall be easy to find should she go missing.” Colin smiled from his spot by the fire. “Colin.” Penelope hushed her husband, not wanting y/n to act up on that statement.
---
“Easy y/n, please.” Voilet’s Voice was heard from up the stairs. “Yes mama.” Y/n’s little voice was heard.
Benedict stifled his laugh from the top of the stairs behind his mother as he watched y/n all but run down the stairs in her little red dress. Her mother had been against the vibrant red, but y/n had managed to convince the retired Viscountess to allow her to get it. Anthony and Kate waited down the stairs, looking up at the young girl that rushed down the stairs, eager to get going. Wanting to prevent any injury, Anthony moved to the last step and picked y/n up, causing her to giggle.
“Well, look at you.” Anthony smiled, holding y/n on his hip before poking her chest lightly. “I wearing red.” Y/n pointed proudly to herself. “I see that.” Anthony smiled, looking at y/n’s colourful dress choice. “You look lovely y/n.” Kate commented her new sister, tucking a piece of hair behind the little ones ear. “Must we all attend tonight.” Eloise asked, coming down the stairs with her mother in toll, tugging at the fabric of her dress. “Yes, we are going as a family. I will hear no complaints.” Voilet tapped her daughters shoulder, giving her the eye to stop fidgeting. “I agree, what a wonderful thing for us all to attend.” Colin stated, coming down with Hyacinth & Gregory beside him. “Are we all ready?” Violet asked her children, sharing a look with Kate. “Let’s go, let’s go.” Y/n wiggled in her brothers grip, trying to get out. “Don’t wander y/n, and put on your coat.” Anthony called out to his sister. “Should you think she heard you?” Eloise asked her brother, watching her baby sister run off. “I don’t believe so.” Benedict shook his head, causing Anthony to glare at him before taking the youngest’s jacket from the door man.
---
The town was packed with families from all over London, and Violet struggled to hold y/n’s hand as she tried to drag her mother towards the front. Seeing his mother’s struggle, Benedict took y/n’s hand before picking her up, ignoring as little hands tried to push him away.
“For a better view.” Benedict remarked, and y/n stopped at that.
Anthony and Kate walked hand in hand, smiling at each other as they walked the streets. Behind them was Penelope and Colin, who were laughing at something Penelope had observed. Hyacinth and Gregory walked obediently in front of the adults, and Eloise tagged along behind them, folding her arms as if all she wanted was to get away from here. The night was chilly, but the crowds made it tolerable. Feeling her brother come to a stop, y/n grew excited and looked around, giddy for what was to come. Violet placed her arms around Hyacinth and Gregory as they all waited for the lights to turn on.
Y/n bounced in her brothers arms as the crowd started to count down. She wasn’t very good with numbers, but she knew when the crowd started chanting, the lights would soon turn on. Benedict kissed his sisters cheek as she leaned closer to him, thinking it would help her to see. She clapped happily when the lights turned on, causing her brother to laugh.
“You happy y/n?” Benedict teased her, adjusting her to have a comfortable hold on her. “They’re so sparkly.” Y/n spoke in amazement, looking above at the strands of light. “There just lights y/n, nothing special.” Gregory remarked, and Violet squeezed him tighter. “Don’t upset your sister Gregory.” Violet stated, not wanting to catch a scene. “She’s so amazed.” Penelope stated, smiling slightly at the youngest. “Ever since our y/n has been a babe she has loved the lights.” Colin explained to his wife. “She was only in mothers arms when she would stare up at them with a wide smile.” Benedict admitted, tucking some hair behind y/n’s eyes. “We used to have a small set of Christmas lights on her roof so she would sleep because she didn’t understand where they went.” Anthony explained, an arm around his wife’s waist. “We don’t know why, she just took to them.” Benedict shrugged, watching his sister with a smile. “I wanna touch them.” Y/n stated, and Anthony jumped forward to grab her hand. “No no, hot y/n.” Anthony spoke harshly, trapping her arm in his hand. “Aww.” Y/n pouted, not understanding. “When does the party start?” Hyacinth asked, wanting to go to the ball. “Ball Hyacinth, not party.” Violet corrected her, “We’ll make our way now.” “Can I stay here?” Y/n asked, glaring at Anthony as she pulled away from him. “Sorry y/n, you’ll see them on the way home.” Anthony smiled at his sister, who frowned in disappointment.
--------------------------------------
For the duration of the night, y/n never moved from the window, staring out at the light. She smiled at the sparkling of them at the window, and Benedict chuckled at his youngest sisters antics.
“She really loves those lights.” Benedict admired. “I do wish she would stay away from the window.” Violet sighed, eyeing her youngest. “She’s only five, leave her be.” Lady Danbury commented with a slight smile.
“Hey y/n, you gonna move away from the window any time soon?” Colin asked, smirking at his sister. “They’re so pretty.” y/n murmured, dancing her finger along the window. “They’ll still be there tomorrow night. Come dance with us.” Colin smiled, offering his hand. “Can we dance near the window?” Y/n asked, fluttering her eyelashes. “Well I..” “We can dance wherever you like.” Benedict interrupted her brother. “Hey, don’t steal my dance partner.” Colin joked, hitting Benedict on the chest. “You have Penelope, I have no one.” Benedict announced dramatically, taking y/n’s hand before twirling her. “Make sure we can see the lights.” Y/n stated. “We can see the lights, don’t worry.” Benedict smiled, taking her into his arms to make sure she could see them.
Y/n sat at the door as bangs were heard outside the hall. Students shook in fear as the bangs were loud and close to the storage unit where they were hiding, and y/n feared for what was behind those doors. Everyone froze as a knock was heard, and y/n held her breath as a voice came through.
“Police open up. Officer Dunne, 43387, institute B” A voice called out through the door and y/n breathed out in relief as she heard them recite the information.
“Okay class, slowly and calmly, form a single line, link hands and get ready to move, crouch down and stay low, understood.” Y/n spoke softly, trying to calm the students down.
“How do we know it’s not the shooter.” A student asked and y/n smiled reassuringly.
“It’s okay, it’s not him.” Y/n assured them, although she knew there was a slight chance of it not being police, she was adamant that it was.
Students nodded and hesitantly got up, forming a line as y/n slowly pushed the gym mats out of the way. She winched as she pulled her shoulder but ignored it, adamant to get her students to safety. Carefully unlocking the door, without a sound y/n slowly opened the door, peaking through the gap to ensure it was the emergency services. Confirming it was the police, she opened the door fully and moved out of the way, allowing the kids to move out of the stuffy compartment before following last. With the kids holding hands and looking around for the shooter, they slowly made their way to the exit.
Y/n sighed as she realized that the fear that had become embedded in the childrens minds would now be engraved into their memory. She herself would find it hard to forget, however, y/n's thoughts were more at ease when they came towards the exit, and relief filled her as she seen the crowds of parents being reunited with their kids.
------------------------------------------
Frank, Danny and Jamie stood together as they watched the armed forces slowly bring students out, teachers following as they reunited with their loved ones. Danny shook his head in disbelief as he seen the fear written over the kids faces, the reality of school shootings turning up to their door steps present.
The three Reagan men watched as students ran to their parents, everyone crying in relief and worry of what had happened. The waves of students started to slow and they watched the entrance eagerly as they waited to see y/n being escorted to safety. With their vision purely on the school building none of them recognized the chief coming towards them until he was beside them, and their heads snapped to face him.
“I honestly don’t get some people. Who in their right mind thinks going into a school building, shooting people or in random areas is a smart thing to do.” Danny stated, not believing the reality of their home country.
“Beyond sickening. I mean these are children that now have to live with the fact that someone came into their school and shoot random people just for the hell of it.” Jamie agreed, shaking his head in disgust.
“We’ll never know what goes through their heads, or these kids. But we can be there for them, and hope that they can somehow move on.” Frank stated, watching as the kids were brought to safety.
" Shooter down, I repeat shooter down. Students and one teacher being lead out to safety." The voice commented and the trio sighed in relief.
“There’s one last class in the gym where the shooter was seen, were just waiting for the shooter to move or for them to be caught.” The chief stated and Frank sighed, putting his hand on his forehead, head dropping in frustration.
“How long till they can catch him?” Jamie asked, seeing his father wasn’t going to ask.
“They’re closing in on him.” The chief answered before nodding and leaving them to talk to the principal.
"But will it be quick enough?" Frank muttered.
"Dad, come on, don't think like that. You always say think positive of situations like this, so think positive." Danny pleaded, not wanting those thoughts in his head.
"I also taught you to think rationally." Frank stated, looking at his oldest, "There is a man with a gun close to her, Danny, who probably knows by now police are looking for him. He is not going to go down without trying to have leverage."
"And y/n has been trained for this situation. Unfortunate yes but she knows what to do and what to look out for. She won't let that man anywhere near those kids, meaning she won't open the door that she is behind unless she has been told the information to show it's safe." Danny stated and Frank looked up at him.
"God, I hope you're right." Frank stated before a shot was heard and Danny and Jamie's Radio came alive once more.
Their attention was brought to the school building, waiting the door to open. All they wanted was to see their daughter and sister again. Cries were heard throughout the area as the school door opened for the last time and armed forces started to come out, leading students who held hands out to safety. Frank watched the line of students head towards their families before turning his attention to the school, waiting to see his daughters face. His shoulders slumped in relief when he seen her exit last, eyes darting to ensure all her students were out safely.
"Y/n." Jamie called, drawing her attention to the Reagan men.
Y/n turned her head towards the familiar voice and tears built in her eyes when she seen her brothers and dad standing at the commissioners car. Smiling weakly she rushed towards them, allowing Danny to pull her into him. Feeling her oldest brother kiss her forehead, she reached out for Jamie's hand and gave it a squeeze. Realizing one person was missing, y/n turned to look over Danny's shoulder to see her father watching the siblings interaction with a teary smile. Y/n sighed in relief as Danny let her go before rushing into the comfort of her fathers arms, allowing the tears to fall. Danny and Jamie watched with sadness as their dad comforted their sister.
-------------------------------------------------------------
"Shh, it's okay, your okay." Frank soothed her, rubbing her hair in comfort.
"I was so scared. All we heard was gun firing and then he came to the gym and knocked on the door trying to get me to open it. I thought he would get in and get the kids." Y/n sobbed, unable to control her emotions.
"It's okay, your safe now, your with us. And I won't let anyone hurt you." Frank stated, pushing y/n back gently to cup her face and look her in the eye.
"I love you dad." Y/n stated, smiling and wiping her eyes to get rid of the tears.
"I love you too." Frank smiled back, kissing her forehead, " Now what do you say we head home and have some of grandpa's famous chicken, no doubt the family was there watching the news."
"Yeah I'm starving." Jamie stated, all the worry making him hungry.
"Your always hungry." Danny remarked causing y/n and Frank to chuckle slightly at their behaviour.
"We'll meet you two back home, one of you bring y/n's car back, she's coming with me." Frank stated, causing y/n to look up at him with a smile as he placed an arm around her shoulders. "Come on sweetheart, let's get you home."
Back at Henry and Franks the rest of the family were eagerly waiting for the boys to return with y/n. Henry and Linda had made Henrys famous chicken pop pie, y/n’s favourite to help calm her after a chaotic day. Upon hearing the news from co-workers, the new shooting being hot topic at the office, Erin had rushed to her gramps to be with him and family. Nikki, Sean and Jack were brought to the Reagan household after Erin collected them and had been told to stay out of the living room where the news was kept on so the adults could keep up what was going on, although, Nikki being Nikki had snuck into the living room and seen the news, knowing where her aunt worked prayed that it would work out. In fact, she was the one to call out when students were seen being escorted out, and they all had waited to hear that the shooter had been caught or to see y/n following her students to safety. Relief had filled the household when y/n was seen, and they knew that Danny, Jamie and Frank would be able to comfort her
The door opened and Frank stepped through the door, y/n tucked under his arm as he called out they were home. Danny and Jamie were close behind the father daughter duo as they followed the noise to the living room. Having heard the front door open the family had watched for the cop, commissioner and detective to come through with the teacher and they stood up when y/n was seen with Frank
“Y/n.” Erin stated and moved towards her only sister.
Y/n allowed Erin to wrap her arms around her as Linda and Henry walked over to Frank and the boys, offering them comfort. The youngest daughter of Frank allowed herself to be passed from the hands of her sister to her sister in law, who rubbed her back in comfort. Looking over Linda's shoulder, she seen Henry watching them with a sad smile and she reached out to him. Seeing his granddaughter outreached hand, Henry took her hand in his and gently pulled her into his arms as Linda moved away, and that’s when tears fell from y/ns eyes once again and Henry shushed her as she sobbed into her grandfathers shoulder. Danny wrapped an arm around Lindas shoulder and hers around his waist as they watched the scene in front of them. Erin hugged her father in comfort, and Jamie placed an arm around Nikki as she watched with teary eyes.
After letting out her emotions, y/n pulled away from her grandfather and wiped her eyes, sniffing slightly as she calmed herself before she nearly tripped. She didn't have time to turn around and check the cause when two sets of arms wrapped around her. Turning around fully, y/n seen the heads of her two nephews, and waved off Linda as the mother went to warn her sons to be careful with their aunt before wrapping her arms around them.
Y/n followed her family to the dinner table and smiled as Linda and Erin brought out the food, laying it out like family dinners on Sundays. Once the women sat down everyone bowed their heads as Henry began to say grace.
“Aunt y/n.” The two boys cried, and y/n rubbed their backs in comfort.
“Hey boys.” She smiled, kissing both their heads before indicating for Nikki to join their hug.
“I’m glad your okay aunt y/n.” Nikki smiled, giving y/n a side hug as y/n kissed her cheek.
“Thanks Nikki.” Y/n smiled at her only niece, looking at the rest of her family as they watched the aunt comforting her niece and nephews.
“How about dinner, I made chicken pop pie.” Henry stated to his family and Jack and Sean cheered as they separated from their aunt.
Frank grabbed his daughters hand and gave it a squeeze and she looked at him and smiled. She can be kept from cases they worked, y/n was fine with that, but she just wished the inevitable would be no school shootings.
“We also want to thank God for watching over our y/n and the local high school as they encountered another school shooting today. We pray that each effected will find healing and strength to continue on from this traumatic effect Amen.” Henry called out.
“Amen.” The family repeated before opening their eyes.

It was long day for intelligence. They were working on a murder rape case where three women and two children were found dead with multiple stabbing wounds, the children haven been sliced in the neck. There was prove of forced sexual intendancies but they were no closer to finding the killer, only knowing that it was likely personally due to the victims being related.
"Alright any questions?" Hank asked, looking around after going through some new information before a phone goes off. "Sorry, sorry." Mouse spoke in a rush, grabbing his phone and looking at it before answering. "Everyone good?" Hank asked, bringing everyone's attention back to him causing everyone to nod, "Alright, back to work."
Jay made his way back to behind his desk and sat down, leaning towards the paperwork that contained information about the victims and how they were killed. Hearing movement, he glanced up only to see Mouse heading towards Erin in a rush, speaking to her abruptly before heading down the stairs, likely taking two at a time. Realizing the unusual behavior of his fellow veteran, Jay frowned and moved towards his girlfriends desk, leaning against it as he spoke.
"What was that about?" Jay asked her, looking in the direction Mouse left. "What was what about?" Erin asked, faking confusion. "Come on, where's mouse going?" Jay spoke, crossing his arm and looking at her. "I dunno, probably to get coffee or something." "What was he talking to you about?" "The case, he found something he thought was useful." "That quick?" "Jay, you know him, he's quick on things like this, just go back to work." She responded with a sigh before leaving her desk and heading to Hanks office.
------------------------------------
Erin did know what was going on with Mouse and why he had rushed off so quick after getting the disruptive phone call. She just chose not to tell Jay because she knew previous relations may arise.
Mouse had gotten a call from Will, saying that he and Jay should go to Wills house as someone from their past work had turned up. Upon hearing it was y/n he rushed out, not bothering to wait for Jay and opting to tell his trustworthy girlfriend instead.
Y/n was someone who used to serve with Mouse and Jay up until they left the army. She had started working two years after Jay and Mouse started and was still an active soldier when Jay had left, Mouse following two years later. They still kept in occasional contact but they hadn't seen each other in person since they left the service.
A couple of days ago y/n had gotten into an accident with work, and as a result was ordered to take leave to recuperate and recover before returning should she choose to. Instead of telling Jay like Mouse had asked her to, she opted to keep the information from her boyfriend, afraid that he would leave her for his former colleague. She knew that Jay and y/n had some form of a relationship, whether it was official or not, based on the fact that sometimes Jay called her y/n instead of her actual name. The fear of Jay leaving her for someone was something that wasn't worth taking the risk in her opinion, so she was determined that Jay wouldn't find out, even if it meant lying to him.
-------------------------------------------
That evening, Jay kissed Erin goodbye from the district before heading towards Will's place for a couple of drinks and to watch the match. Seeing Jay at his door, Will smiled in greeting before letting into the apartment, grabbing two bottles of beer from his fridge before sitting on the couch beside him where the TV was on playing the match of the week.
"How was work?" Will asked, starting conversation. "It was good, tough case." Jay spoke with a shake of his head, taking a drink from his bottle. "Yeah it must of been when you didn't come by earlier with Mouse." Will replied, drinking his own drink. "Mouse came here?" Jay asked in confusion. "Yeah, earlier on I called him and he came, said he told Lindsey to tell you." "Why would he come here? Erin never told me anything." Jay asked, confused about why his girlfriend would lie to him. "You don't know?" Will asked, squinting his eyes in confusion. "Know what?" "Y/n's back, she had an accident with a landmine so they told her take some leave time. I called mouse and you but when you didn't answer Mouse said he would get Erin to tell you." Will explained, leaning back into his seat. "Erin didn't say anything. Y/n's back?" Jay asked, looking at Will with wide eyes. "Yeah, just this morning. She's on leave to recover, you really didn't know?" Will asked, realizing that his brother clearly wasn't told anything. "Nothing was said to me. Where is she staying?" Jay asked, grabbing his phone and keys from in front of him. "Ehh here, but she's looking for her own place so it's temporary. She's off in an appointment right now with the military doctor or something." "Right, tell her to call me, yeah. I need to sort something out." Jay stated, standing up and grabbing his coat. "I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for her not saying anything." Will shouted after his brother as he heard the door open. "Yeah, I'm sure there is." Jay agreed to himself as he closed the door and left.
----------------------------------------------
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jay spoke, walking into his and Erin's shared apartment. "I thought you were going to Will's for the night?" Erin asked, by passing his question. "I was, but then he told me that he had been trying to contact me but when he didn't called Mouse to tell him that y/n was back. But you already knew that because Mouse told you to tell me." Jay explained and Erin's eyes widened slightly. "Look, Jay..." "Why didn't you tell me Erin, don't you think I would of liked to know that my friend and fellow soldier was home after an accident." Jay asked, placing his hands behind one of their kitchen tables. "Yes, I know, I should of told you but, I know the way you two were before you left the army. How close you two were. You called me her name and I was afraid that if you knew that she was back you would leave me for her." "You still should of told me." Jay spoke with a shake of his head. "I know Jay, and I'm sorry, I just don't want to lose you." Erin spoke in a small voice, knowing what she did was wrong. "Linds, your not going to lose me okay, you and I are strong and are relationship works on trust and truth. I need you to tell me these things no matter what you fear and trust that I will not try anything behind your back." Jay spoke, lowering his voice and moving closer to his girlfriend, placing a hand around her waist. "I'm sorry I lied." Erin smiled and Jay smiled back, leaning down to pull her into a kiss.
------------------------------------
The following day intelligence gathered to talk about the case. Jay and Mouse were leaning against a desk with their arms crossed, half listening and half not. Both men were thinking of their old friend, and only one of them were expecting to hear their phone go off. Jay glanced at Mouse as he heard the soft ping and Mouse smiled as Hank finished before heading down the stairs. Frowning in confusion, Jay watched Mouse head down as Erin came towards him.
"Hey, you ok? You seem distracted." Erin asked, putting a hand on Jays arm. "Yeah fine, just confused is all." "About what?" Erin asked, scrunching her eyebrows. "Y/n?" Jay asked, looking away from Erin causing her to frown and turn to where he was looking.
Mouse walked up the stairs with a young lady beside him. The ladies arm was in a cast and she seemed to have a limp. Her h/c hair was down, covering half her face and she refused to make eye contact with anyone, but yet Jay seemed to know who she was. Erin glanced at Jay as he moved towards the two while the rest of the group watched on, wondering who the lady was.
"Y/n?" Jay asked again, louder this time, causing the lady to look up. "Hey Jay." She smiled, happy to see her old army friend. "What are you doing here? I thought you were spending the day recuperating. I was going to come see you after shift." "Decided to get out of the house. You know I always hated sitting around."
"Care to introduce us." Hank asked, his rough voice breaking the reunion. "Guys this is y/n, she was in the army with myself and Mouse here." Jay spoke, placing a hand on Mouses shoulder as he smiled shyly. "Y/n this is intelligence, where I work now." "Nice to meet you all." Y/n smiled, though Jay couldn't help but notice the slight flinch she gave. "Voight, Hank Voight. Head of intelligence." Voight stated, offering a hand shake. "Nice to meet you." Y/n smiled, accepting the hand shake.
Y/n started greeting the rest of Jays colleagues, and all but one seemed to happily greet her. Erin appeared to give y/n a hard shoulder, and y/n knew that it was over her and Jays past. Mouse had told her that Erin refused to tell Jay that she had returned, and y/n couldn't help but feel slightly bitter towards the woman her friend was dating. She knew Jay had called Erin her name a few times, but y/n couldn't help but be embarrassed about it even if she wasn't to blame. But none the less she smiled at Erin, and Erin smiled in compliance before wrapping her arm around Jays, causing him to look down in confusion as they never really showed affection in work, before watching y/n as she smiled at Adam as they spoke.

Info: Y/n spends her first Christmas without her father, but she tries to remember the good times while making new traditions without her.
Relationship: Halstead sister
Warnings: grief, loss parent
Pat Halstead wasn’t father of the year, but to y/n he was at least half decent. He made sure she got some form of a happy childhood, even if she did miss the loss of her mother. Will and Jay were never really around, so it was always the two of them against the world. It hurt her when she heard Jay yelling at their father upon his return, claiming that he was an unfit parent for the youngest Halstead. Sure Pat had his over fill of beer, but he never threw anything but love towards his only daughter.
Christmas was the father daughter duos favourite time together. They would always spend the first weekend of the month decorating the house, Pat even stayed sober for the day, which was a bonus to y/n. Jay was surprised with how much effort the Halstead father put into making the festive time enjoyable for y/n. Will and Jay had grown up when their mother died, but even when she was alive Pat wasn’t one to celebrate anything.
Now, with her father gone, y/n was finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit. The traditions they held from baking gingerbread men, to sitting on her fathers shoulders to put the star onto the tree even though she was way past the age of light. The nearly 18 year old found herself at a loss, wanting to celebrate but also not wanting to accept that she would be doing it without her father and best friend. Will and Jay tried to help, both not grieving their father as much as their sister at this time, but when they turned up with a Christmas tree at the door, the waterfall of tears began.
We put the lights up on the tree And all the presents underneath Light the fire, it's getting cold Another year of "Will it snow?" Mixing lager and champagne Somethin' I'll never do again Round the table banter flows Praying no one rocks the boat
Y/n stared at her brothers as they placed the real tree up into the living room, both brothers watching their sister with caution. Both of them knew that the youngest of the three siblings would always go tree hunting with their father on the first Saturday of December before bringing it home and stringing it with lights and baubles. But now without her father, y/n felt no desire to help cut the wire that was currently holding the tree compact, nor did she usually do her usual cheer when the branches sprung out.
“Hey y/n, you wanna help?” Jay asked, grabbing the scissors from the bits and bobs drawer under the TV. “Why would I do that?” Y/n mumbled, slouching in on herself as she tried to avoid her brothers gaze. “Come on y/n, you and dad used to always do this.” Will spoke, and Jay glared at him abruptly. “Yea, me and dad, I don’t see him anywhere, do you?” Y/n spoke harshly, tears building in her eyes as she narrowed her eyes at her brother. “Y/n, please, dad wouldn’t want you to be like this.” Jay pleaded, trying to help his little sister. “How would you know, you never liked him.” Y/n yelled, bawling her hands into fists at her side. “He never gave us a reason to like him after mom died.” Will muttered, and Jay threw his hand out at him. “Will, shut up.” Jay spoke harshly before moving to his sister. “Come on y/n, you love Christmas. Even if dad’s not here you can still make some memories, in honor of him.” Jay stated, placing a hand on y/n’s shoulders. “I don’t want to do this without him.” Y/n spoke tearfully, collapsing onto the couch gently. “He’s always with you. We can make new traditions if you’d rather.” Jay tried to be helpful, wanting to help his sister somewhat enjoy her favourite holiday.
Y/n looked at her brother with tears falling down her cheeks, and Jay sighed before pulling her into his arms, rocking her gently. Will looked down as he heard his sisters cries, not wanting to overwhelm her. She was always the type who wouldn’t take too much comfort, one person was enough, so him joining would distraught her. Hearing her snuffling, Will looked up to see y/n looking at where he was standing, the tree beside him.
“Can we make some baubles this year, maybe a few in honor of dad?” Y/n asked, trying to think positive. “I think that’s a great idea.” Jay smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I’ll go get some things for us to use.” Will stated, moving to kiss y/n’s head before leaving the house to head to the shops.
Still I know, this picture's not quite right There's someone on your mind First Christmas time without him by your side, I know The sound of Christmas bells They never say farewell So we laugh, we shed a tear For those who can't be here
Y/n lay on the couch, staring ahead of her as a simple memory came from a decoration she had grabbed from the box. Taking her brothers advice to make new traditions, y/n had tried to decorate the remaining of the house after school was finished. But the deer decoration that she had found produced memories that she couldn’t shake. A shake on her shoulder lead to her jumping out of her thoughts, and a watery smile to appear as she looked up at the brother who shook her.
“Hey, you ok?” Will asked, smiling lightly at his sister. “Yeah, just trying to finish these while I’m interested in it.” Y/n explained, throwing the deer beside her on the couch as she moved her feet for Will to sit beside her. “You know it’s okay to have your mind spiraling, you’ve lost both parents before your eighteen, that’s a lot for someone, regardless of their age.” “You and Jay seem fine.” Y/n mumbled, wiping her sleeve against her cheek. “Jay and I didn’t have the same relationship as you did with dad, but we miss him regardless, don’t think we don’t.” Will spoke softly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “I don’t want to feel this way, I want to enjoy the holidays but I feel like if I do than I’m forgetting about dad.” Y/n spoke, leaning her head on Will’s shoulder. “You could never forget about dad, he’s someone who’s been in your whole life, that’s not forgettable.” Will smiled softly, squeezing his sister gently. Y/n looked up as she heard the sound of bells outside the window. “Dad always cursed those bells.” Y/n smiled sadly, sniffling slightly. “Well they are pretty annoying.” Will nodded in agreement with the statement, “Come on, I’ll help you finish this than we can go out for dinner.” Will offered, picking up the abandoned deer and standing up. “Can we stay to watch the Christmas lights turn on in the town?” Y/n asked, having never done it before as her father used to think it was useless when they’d be seen for the month anyway. “Sure, we can do that.” Will smiled lightly, taking y/n’s hand to help her off the couch.
We're drinking sherry just because Confessing all our Christmas love Watch Home Alone for the thousandth time It's the only movie that we all like
Will and y/n had winded up standing at the police district to watch the lights, and Jay had even arrived back from a case to catch them and join. Y/n couldn’t help the smile that spread on her face, and unshed tears built in her eyes as she felt guilt for a brief moment. Guilt that she was enjoying herself even after the loss of her father.
Following the lights, Will brought y/n home and stayed with her for the night. It had become a ritual where the brothers would take turns staying at the house with y/n, as she refused to leave the home she had grew up in, and leave the memories upon the wall. Will set up the sitting room while y/n left to get changed into her pjs’s, wanting to be cozy for the night.
Setting two mugs of hot chocolate onto the table, Will turned when he heard his sister walking down the creaky steps, smiling softly when he seen her in a red set with reindeers dotted around the fabric He squinted at her in confusion as she walked towards her, acting shy as she came to a stop in front of him.
“What’s up?” Will asked, seeing her rocking on the balls of her feet. “Can we wear matching pajamas tonight while we watch Home alone?” Y/n asked, moving her hands from behind her back to show him the matching pjs's. “We watch home alone so many times, do we really have to.” Will fake groaned, making fun of y/n. “Dad used to always watch it with me, but we never done matching pjs's as I always wanted.” Y/n frowned, looking down at the memories. “I would love to match with you.” Will grinned, taking the material from her hands and slapping them over his shoulder. “You get the film ready and I will be down in a minute I made hot chocolate as well.” Will smiled, ruffling his sisters hair affectionately before moving to his and Jay’s old room to change.
But I know, this picture's not quite right There's someone on my mind First Christmas time without him by our side, I know He loved these Christmas bells 'Cause they never say farewell So we laugh, we shed a tear For those who can't be here
Jay came to the house the night before Christmas, groaning as he stretched his shoulders back, hearing the cracks in his back. Y/n and Will were in the kitchen, prepping the dinner for tomorrow. Y/n refused to get a turkey despite it being a traditional food for Christmas, so the brothers had compromised with a small chicken, draping rashers over it like they would a turkey.
“Hey guys, I feel so overdressed.” Jay commented, seeing the matching pj’s his siblings wore. “I left a pair for you in your guys room.” Y/n spoke, moving away from Will to hug Jay. “Lovely.” Jay spoke, grimacing at the thought of matching pj’s. “Jay.” Will warned. “I’m joking.” Jay told him, wrapping his arms around y/n’s shoulders as she leaned into him. “I think we’re finished here.” Will announced, moving the chicken and ham into the oven so they were ready in the morning. “I’m gonna go to my room before the film starts.” Y/n stated, moving away from her brothers abruptly. “You ok?” Jay asked, frowning as he seen how quick y/n’s attitude changed. “Yeah, just wanna freshen up a bit.” Y/n spoke, moving towards the stairs. “Code for needing a moment alone.” Will mumbled at Jay weakly, and Jay nodded in agreement.
Y/n all but ran up the stairs to get to her room. Sitting on her bed, she allowed herself to take a look around her, smiling sadly as she seen the stocking that hung on her wardrobe. It was tradition that her and dad would fill a stocking for each other, and realisation came to her as she realized that he really wouldn’t be here. The first year they wouldn’t be sharing stockings, and the first year it would just be the three siblings.
Christmas used to be one of the most exciting days for y/n. Even as she grew older, her and Pat would always make the day different to the rest. It was another day of the week, but doing things a little different was what made the day special. Tears built in her eyes, and she allowed them to fall as she tried to remain quiet.
Jay stood outside her door, hearing his sisters infrequent breathing. Unshed tears lay in his eyes as he let her have her moment, thinking of the younger days when Christmas had his mom and dad around. Their mum would always make the day special for them, and their dad always lay around the couch, helping them build whatever it was they got that year. Having both parents gone were hard, but he knew it was harder for y/n. Pat was the only actual parent she had in her life, with her mother dying when she was two.
“Hey y/n, you ready to go down?” Jay asked, knocking on the door but not opening it. “I’ll be down in a minute.” Y/n called out, and Jay smiled sadly as he heard the sniffling she had.
Jay and Will were sitting on either side of the couch when y/n walked down the stairs, a space in the middle waiting for y/n. Smiling softly y/n reached to grab a pretzel from the tray the brothers had made for the movie night. Leaning at the back of the couch, y/n closed her eyes for a moment, trying to allow the festivities to roll over her.
For those who can't be here For those who can't be here (The bells ring out for them) For those who can't be here (The bells ring out for them) For those who can't be here The bells ring out for them For those who can't be here The bells ring out for them For those who can't be here
Christmas morning rolled by quickly, and unlike usual, y/n lay in bed staring at the ceiling. Jay and Will had already gotten up and y/n had heard them walking by her door numerous times, no doubt keeping an eye on her. Tears were falling down her cheeks freely, and she refused to wipe them away.
It was near noon when y/n finally plucked up the courage to get out of bed. While usually she’d get done up for the day, instead she decided to stay in her pj’s, and threw her hair into a top not so it wasn’t in her face. Jay was the one to greet her as she walked the last step, wrapping her into a hug and kissing her cheek.
“I know you don’t want to, but tears are okay today.” Jay talked into her hair, refusing to let her go. “I tried, I really tried.” Y/n mumbled into his chest, feeling him rub his hand along her back. “You don’t have to try anything. Treat it as any other day.” Jay stated, pulling away from her as Will walked towards them. “The food is ready when you want it.” Will smiled, pulling her into a hug as she clung to him, embedding her face into his shoulder. “Did you make the stuffing?” Y/n asked, causing her brothers to laugh “Just how you like it.” Will stated with a nod.
“Thank you guys.” Y/n thanked the brothers with a smile at the end of the night as they sat on the couch, defeated from the dinner the brothers had made. “You don’t have to thank us.” Will shook his head. “We’re your brothers, it’s what we do.” Jay smiled, throwing an arm behind her lazily. “Happy Christmas dad.” Y/n smiled, looking at a picture of him on the mantelpiece. “I’m sure he’s enjoying the beer and sherry like always.” Jay stated, leaning his head on y/n’s as she lay it on his shoulder.
Info: Like her mother, y/n craves to find a match out of love, but never did she expect that love to be found in royalty
Relationship: Y/n bridgerton x prince Fredrich
Set in season 1
Y/n lay on Daphne's bed as she watched her sister be swarmed by her sister and mother. The oldest Bridgerton girl had been chosen as the diamond of the season, and this meant that her family had become the main attention of the season. Being the diamonds twin sister, y/n was often used as a backway into getting her sisters attention. Many men had stepped forward to talk to her, only to have the young girls heart discouraged upon her sisters name slipping from their lips.
It wasn't unknown that y/n was the opposite of her sister, in fact she was more like her mother. While Daphne craved to have a good match to help their sisters tin society, y/n craved love. She wanted her husband to be someone she loved, and them vise versa. Yet the possibility of that match seemed to be far away from y/ns grip.
"Y/n, you must be excited for your dear sister." The mother of 9 stated to her second oldest daughter. "Of course I am mama, I just find it hard to believe that I am to find a match this season." Y/n replied in dismay, her shoulders slouching as she moved to a sitting position. "Come now sister, I'm sure you too will find someone." Daphne spoke, moving close to her sister to comfort her. "Me and you are two different people Daphne. While you are doing this to set up our dear sisters, I will not marry unless I find love." Y/n spoke out, tilting her head. "Well yes but.." Daphne started only for their mother to but in. "I'm sure you will find someone y/n, just give it time. You know your father and I started off as friends before marriage." "I know mama." Y/n sighed, standing up. "Come now, let's get ready for tonight, I can sense that this will be an intriguing one." Daphne spoke, taking her sisters hand before pulling away towards the mirror where here lady in hand was waiting. "Yes, I'm sure it will." Y/n spoke disheartedly, moving out of the room towards her own.
----------------------------------
y/n fidgeted with her glove as she sat beside Benedict as the carriage carried them to the ball of the night. Daphne and her mum sat opposite her and were chatting quietly amongst themselves. Anthoney was late as usual, so they had left without him, hoping that he would arrive on time. Seeing his sisters distress, Benedict placed his hand on y/n’s arm, causing her to look up at him. Seeing her brothers smile of assurance, y/n nodded and took a deep breathe before looking out the window as their carriage came to a stop.
Opting to wait until her mother and sister got out, y/n pushed back into her seat, trying to stay out of view as peoples attention turned to them. Daphne held her head up high as she accepted the doormans hand, and smiled slightly at the onlookers as she waited for her mother to step out. Violet looked back at y/n to see if she was following suit.
“You head on in, I will look after y/n.” Benedict assured their mum, seeing his sisters reluctance.
Glancing one more time at y/n, Violet nodded before linking hands with Daphne and walking in, smiling at those they passed. Benedict turned around to face his sister that still occupied their carriage, and held his hand out with a smile. Glancing out at the crowds of people who were walking into the ball, y/n bowed her head as she descended from the carriage, accepting her brothers hand. She thanked the doorman as he closed the door behind her before linking Benedict’s arm with hers. Benedict patted her hand in encouragement.
“If I didn’t know any better I would say that you are nervous.” Benedict whispered to his sister in a mocking way as they walked in the doors. “Does it appear that way, God I hope not. I don’t know how…” “Calm down dear sister, I am only trying to ease you up a bit. You are far too rigid for someone who should be enjoying herself.” Benedict quickly jumped in, cutting off y/n’s rant. “I struggle to see how one could have fun while being approached for all the wrong reasons.” Y/n muttered, nodding her head at two gentlemen as they smiled her way. “Don’t dread too much, I’m sure you will find your match soon enough.” Benedict reassured her, tapping her hand again as they reached their sister and mother.
Throughout the night y/n tried her best to uphold conversations with suitable suitors only for them to turn to Daphne when they had the chance. Benedict tried to keep y/n’s spirit up with the occasional remark about peoples choice of outfit, but all y/n wanted was to leave this season behind her. Even her mother was starting to notice her daughters mood, and decided to call it a night.
“Shall we retire for the night?” Violet asked Daphne as she returned from yet another dance, nodding her head discretely to the girls twin. “Yes I believe we shall, my feet are terribly achy.” Daphne announced, glancing at her sister.
Y/n stood with Daphne and Benedict as their mother left to round up the rest of her children. Anthony threw a look of concern at y/n before offering Daphne his arm. The young girl just shrugged, knowing her mum had probably told them she was getting anxious. Opting to avoid they’re glances, she decided to venture outside on her own, away from the prying eyes. Smiling at Benedict as she looked at her when she let go of him, she slowly headed out the door, into fresh air. At least she tried to, until she bumped into a tall figure.
“Oh my apologies miss.” The gentleman in front of her spoke. “No, no, my fault. I wasn’t looking where I was going.” Y/n started, only for her breath to catch in her throat when she realized who she had bumped into.
The blonde gentleman in front of her was no one but Queen Charlottes nephew, Prince Frendrich. The Bridgerton’s had become quite familiar with the Prince since the Queens continuous attempts of matching the young man with Daphne. Many days he had called upon the house, but y/n had only briefly met him, having spent majority of her time with Benedict as he painted, often modelling for him. Seeing him in front of her, y/n couldn’t help but admire his blonde curls and his blue eyes. He looked back at her, circling her face with his eyes.
“Prince Frendrich, how are you this fine evening?” Y/n’s mums voice disrupted their silent introduction. “I am quite lady Bridgerton, and you?” Prince Frendrich nodded at the older woman, taking her hand in greeting. “I am quite well, thank you. I see you have meet my other daughter y/n” The vicountess stated, glancing between y/n and the prince. “Pleasure to meet you Miss Bridgerton.” Frendrich nodded to the youngest twin as he took her hand, bringing it up to kiss it gently. “The pleasures all mine, your highness.” Y/n curtsied, ignoring the butterflies that she felt. “Forgive me for being so forward, and perhaps speaking in disrespect for your sister, but would you care to have the last dance with me?” “We are just retiring for the night.” Benedict stated, moving beside y/n, taking her hand from the Princess. “Nonsense Benedict, I believe we can wait for them. She would be delighted to your highness.” Violet shushed her son as she glanced between her daughter and the royal in front of them. “Miss Bridgerton?” The prince spoke again, offering his hand to her. “Yes, I would be honoured.” Y/n spoke with a sigh as she accepted his hand.
Violet watched on with a smile as y/n was escorted to the dance floor. She had seen the look in her daughters eyes when she seen the Prince, and the lightness in the Prince’s eyes as he looked at her daughter. The look was one she recognized, for she had once given them eyes to her beloved late husband. Glancing at Benedict, she pinched his arm as she seen the scowl on his face.
Y/n allowed he prince to guide her along the floor as the two prepared to dance the last dance. The young Bridgerton placed her hand on his shoulder as he placed his on her hip, and she tried to avoid the sparks she felt, knowing the way this would go.
“Have you had a good night?” Prince Frendrich spoke, trying to make conversation. “As good as should be expected. Giving that I know how this dance ends.” Y/n spoke out, looking down with slight disappointment. “What do you mean?” “I know that the Queen has invited you here to court my sister, the diamond of the season. And I know that part of that involves getting me to help you. You need not worry, I shall tell her that you are a good match for her, just as I do with every other suitor that has asked me before.” Y/n spoke harshly ,trying to withhold the disappointment in her tone. “You think that is why I asked you for this dance?” The Prince asked in confusion. “Isn’t it?” Y/n asked. “Not at all.” He shook his head, “ You attract me for some reason Miss Bridgerton. I’m not sure why but when I seen you when I first arrived I was appealed by you. You hide behind your sister just because she is the diamond of the season. However, I believe that you are equal to her beauty, if not more.” The prince stated. “You are attracted to me?” Y/n spoke in shock, not expecting that answer. “I am, there is something about you miss Bridgerton, I’m just not sure what.” The prince spoke, and y/n stared over his shoulder, not knowing what to say to his response.
The song ended and couples started to dispatch from the dance floor, and y/n dropped her arms and stepped away from her partner.
“Would you allow me to visit you tomorrow Miss Bridgerton?” The prince asked, and y/n only looked at him for a moment. “Yes, I think I would like that.” Y/n spoke, starting to walk back to her family as they watched. “Until tomorrow.” Prince Frendrich grabbed her partners hand and brought it up for a kiss.
Y/n couldn’t help the slight smile that appeared on her face as the Prince waked away from her and her family. Violet pulled her into a hug as Daphne grabbed her hand with excitement. As the Bridgerton family left for the night, they became unaware of the watchful eye of the Queen and Lady Danbury.
"Perhaps the Bridgerton girls will give us great success this season." Lady Danbury spoke to the Queen, seeing her majesty's watchful eye. "Perhaps." Was all the Queen stated, not wanting to give too much away.
Info: Sky and Riven beat themselves up as they realize how hurt their friend is. Y/n tells them all that has happened and they vow to be there for her and help her through it. After a much needed cry together y/n feels like she has them back, but how long till she's endagered?
Pariring: Sky x Riven x reader (platonic)
Warnings: Loss of parents, mentions of death, harmful acts
Masterlist
Silence fell around the air as Riven and Sky leaned against the greenhouse, breathing heavily. The specialists said nothing as they beat themselves up on how they didn't realize and weren't there for her.
"We should of been there." Sky stated, breaking the silence.
"If only we had known. Then we wouldn't of just brushed her to the side." Riven replied, pushing his head against the wall.
"We shouldn't of pushed her to the side regardless."
"No, we shouldn't of." Riven admitted in defeat.
"We have to protect her. Help her get through this." Sky stated, looking at Riven.
"You got that right." Riven stated before the door opened.
Silva walked out and turned to them and gave them a stern look. Seeing the look of concern his two students gave him caused him to shake his head.
"You guys are complete idiots, you know that." Silva stated, crossing his arms with disapproval.
"We know." Sky sighed, looking down in defeat.
"That girl, your friend who you consider family, has been through hell and when she needed someone you just left her there with no one. And now look at her, she has nearly lost the battle with her magic, wants them to be gone, all because she didn't get the help she needed from those she cares about the most."
"Dig the knife deeper why don't you." Riven muttered, causing Silva to snap his head to him.
"It seems I have to Riven in order for you to understand just how hurt she is. She needed you, and you weren't there." Silva ended his rant, pointing at the door which held the broken girl behind it.
The two looked down in shame, knowing that their trainer was right. Silva looked ahead at them and shook his head before looking into the distance for a second.
"How is she?" Sky eventually asked, taking the silence as an invitation to ask.
"Weak, but she wants to see you both." Silva stated, causing the two boys to look up before rushing towards the door.
--------------------------
Y/n watched as Harvey wrapped her wounds on her wrist. She flinched as he applied pressure to a recently opened one. Harvey finished the last section when the door opened causing both student and teacher to look up.
Y/n sighed and looked away as Sky and Riven walked cautisly through the door, looking at where y/n sat. Harvey got up from his crouched position and looks at the boys before leaving the greenhouse. Dowling, who had been watching from the corner, nodded at the boys before following Harveys lead.
The three friends stayed in silence, memories of what had happened coming back to them. The first to snap out of it was Sky, who pushed Riven gently as he walked towards y/n, who kept her head down. She didn't move as Sky sat beside her on the bed, Riven crouching in front of her.
"My parents died before school term started." Y/n stated after a moment of silence.
The two boys looked at each other with sadness.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Riven asked, clasping his hands together.
"I tried but whenever I did you left with the girls so I just gave up."
"If you had told us we would of stayed with you. You mean so much more to us then some relationship."
Y/n looked at the boys before busting into tears. Sky sighed before pulling her into his chest, shushing her gently as he rubbed her arm gently, kissing the top of her head as her head rested against his chest. Riven took her hand in his, caressing her knuckles gently with his thumb. He turned her hand over gently when he seen the bandages before bringing her hand u and kissing her wrist softly causing her to look up at him with her watery eyes.
"Please don't hurt yourself again." He pleaded, rubbing his thumb over the bandages gently.
"And don't get rid of your magic." Sky added causing her to look up at him before placing her head back lying against his chest.
The trio stayed quite as they just stayed in each others company. Y/n sighs as she wipes her eyes as tears fell. Every now and then Sky would squeeze y/n reassuringly as she hiccupped. Riven sat on the floor with his back towards the bed, not letting go of Y/ns hand.
------------------------------------
The door opened, startling the three half asleep students. They looked up as Harvey walked back into the greenhouse, closing the door behind him. He smiled sadly as he seen the three friends clinging to each other for comfort. Sky and y/n had resorted to lying on the bed, y/ns head on Sky's chest while Riven had his head leaning against her knee, his hand still clutching hers.
"I think it's time for you two boys to head to your dorms. Y/n needs her rest and your curfew is almost up." Harvey stated with sympathy in his voice.
"Can we stay with her?" Sky asked, both reluctant to leave her alone.
"I think it's best if you give her some space, she's had a tiring day." Harvey stated.
"It's ok guys, you can go. I'll see you tomorrow." Y/n spoke tiredly, entwining her and Riven's fingers together and cuddling up to Sky a little more.
"We'll be back tomorrow." Sky promised, kissing her head before moving off the bed.
"Don't do anything stupid." Riven joked, causing y/n to smile as he kissed her cheek.
She watched as the two boys left through the door before curling on the bed, pulling the blanket under her chin. Harvey turned to her and gave her a soft smile.
"Ge some sleep, I'll be in my office if you need me." He stated, pointing in the direction of his office.
Y/n nodded and watched as he left the room, closing the door till there was a jar. She sighed and curled further under the covers before closing her eyes, allowing darkness to consume her.
