Y/n looked around and sighed as she entered the gates to Alfea. She wasn’t in the mood to be here, she didn’t want to be anywhere really. Her parents had just died last month and all she wanted to do was go to her room and just stay there. But she knew she couldn’t.
Looking up she looked to her left to see one of her best friends Riven walking towards her while throwing a knife around. She rolled her eyes and put on a fake smile as he approached her. He smiled as she caught the knife and created frost across it.
“Was that really necessarily?” He asked as she gave it back to him and he grimaced as the now cold metal met his skin. “You were throwing it around carelessly, an accident waiting to happen.” she shrugged, pulling her bag further up her shoulder. “How are you?” He smiled, pulling y/n into a hug. “Good, how are you?” She lied, biting her lip as her eyes watered. “I’m good.” He smiled before pulling away and seeing her eyes, “Hey, you ok?” He asked. “Yeah fine.” She lied again, faking a smile. “Really?” He asked in concern. “Hey, don’t be going all soft on me.” Y/n joked, hitting Rivens shoulder. “Only for you, frosty.” Riven smirked, using her nickname from her powers. “Please don’t, you know how much I hate that nickname.” Y/n groaned as they walked towards Sky who was talking to a red haired girl.
“Quit perving on the first years.” Riven called out to him, placing an arm around y/n’s shoulders. “Riv, give me a minute yeah.” Sky started, glancing towards his two friends. “What, you going to chase her.” Riven asked, nodding in the direction the girl left. “No.” Sky sighed in defeat before being tackled by Riven in a hug.
Y/n looked down as the two boys caught up on their summers. She bit her lip as she figured out how to avoid the death of her parents.
“Hey y/n, not gonna give me a hug.” Sky asked, pulling y/n out of her thoughts. “Course I am Sky.” She smiled weakly, eyes widening as he pulled her into a hug as her voice broke. “Hey, what’s wrong?” Sky asked, picking up on her voice. “Nothing, everything's fine.” She fake smiled as they pulled away. “You sure? You know you can tell us anything. We’ll be here for you no matter what, won’t we Riven.” Sky stated, pulling Riven into the conversation. “Yeah, your our best friend y/n. We’re always here for you, just like you are for us.” Riven stated as the two boys looked at their best friend in concern.
Y/n sighed, figuring out what to say. There was only so much she could lie before they figure it out that she had been lying to them.
“Can we meet in your dorm later, I kinda need to tell you something.” She sighed, agreeing with her self that it’s best to tell them. “Sure, yeah we can do that. How about after dinner?” Sky asked, concerned for her. Y/n nodded and looked down. “I better go to my dorm and meet the first years I’m mentoring with Stella. Sorry Sky.” Y/n apologized sincerely as she seen him flinch at the mention of his ex.
The two boys nodded and watched as their fairy friend left before Riven threw an arm around Sky as they walked to their own dorm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n sat on her bed and looked through the photos oh her and her parents. Tears filled her eyes as she seen the happy smiles the three wore throughout the photos, stopping on the most recent one she had.
*Flashback*
Her parents had always been fascinated with earth and how things were normal there. They weren’t fond of the whole otherworld so once they graduated they had moved there and that was where Y/n was born. As she grew up her mom always thought her how to control her magic and her father, being a specialist, thought her the basics of protection in case her powers couldn’t help her for some reason. Each year during the summer holidays her parents would bring her to the otherworld and show her where she came from and where she would one day be studying how to really control and develop her magic.
On her 17th birthday her parents brought her to the annually trip to the otherworld. They were walking through the woods when there was a sound through the leaves causing them to stop and look. Y/n looked at her dad as he muttered something to her mom. Turning to face their daughter, they both gasped as they seen a frozen one behind her.
“Run.” Her dad screamed at her, grabbing both her hand and her moms as he started running, pushing them in front. “Run to the border.” Her mum shouted at her from behind, knowing they were closer to the border than their portal.
Y/n panted as she followed her parents instructions and ran towards the closest border. She heard a horrid screech as she passed the border and turned back to see her dad fall to the ground and a frozen one jumping on him.
“Dad.” She screamed causing her mom to look back .“No.” Her mom screamed, turning back and starting to use her powers. “Mom.” Y/n screamed, as she seen another frozen one going behind her mother.
Her mom turned to see the frozen one but it was too late. She screamed as she seen her mom being thrown to a tree and went to cross back into the woods when the frozen one that was on her dad went towards her. She fell onto the ground and placed her hands up when an arrow went through it, causing it to turn to dust. Y/n looked around in shock to see a figure coming towards her.
“Y/n? Hey, your okay.” She recognized the voice of Silva as she was pulled up onto her feet. “Mom, dad?” She asked, pushing Silva away as she ran towards them, “Mom dad, no, wake up, please, wake up.” She cried, shaking her parents shoulders as she fell to her knees beside them. “Y/n, I’m sorry.” Silva said sincerely, knowing they were gone. “No, they can’t be, no, they’re not, they just need some help. We need to get them to professor Harvey, he can help them. He can.........” Y/n said in denial before Silva interrupted her. “Y/n they’re gone too far. They’re injuries are too severe, they had no hope with cuts like that. They were gone long ago.” Silva spoke softly, trying to comfort the young girl. “No.” Y/n screamed, causing an outburst of her magic. “Y/n, you need to calm down, your going to cause harm if you lose control.” Silva spoke in a stern yet soft voice, looking at the icicles starting to form on the trees and growing. “I can’t.” She cried, placing a hand on her chest as she leant down so her forehead touched her fathers. “Y/n I need you to calm down now.” Silva spoke in a louder tone, causing y/n to look up and see the icicles going towards Silva.
She gasped and through an ice shield towards Silva, as her mother had taught her, before leaning down and hugging her dead mother as Silva looked at her.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” She kept repeating as he came towards her. “Hey, it’s okay. I’m okay, you helped me with that okay. So now I am going to help you alright. Let’s get you to Sky okay. Then I can clean this up.” Silva stated, crouching down to where the young fairy lay with her dead parents. “No.” Y/n said in an auto tone. “No?” Silva asked. “I don’t want to go to Sky, he has enough on his plate.” Y/n stated, looking at Silva. “Y/n, I don’t want you to be alone........” “Don’t tell Sky, please.” Y/n said with more force. “Okay, I won’t tell Sky.” Silva said reluctantly, “But I do need to clean this up before people see it.” “Can we bury them, give them a funeral.” She asked, knowing that they would of wanted it more then being burned as per otherworld's ways. “Yeah, we can.” Silva smiled, knowing that he had to support the young girl who was now an orphan.
*Flashback end*
Y/n sniffed as tears rolled down her cheeks. The only people who knew of her parents death were Headmaster Silva, Headmistress Dowling and Professor Harvey. Being her teachers and headmistress/headmaster of Alfea, they knew of her recent loss and were helping her cope with it as their student and as their previous friends child.
Wiping her eyes she walked to the bathroom, ignoring the girls and Stella arguing as she closed the door. She looked in the mirror and grimaced at her appearance before splashing water all over her face. Turning it off she dried her face with a towel before leaning against the sink to catch her breath. Once she knew she was under control she left the bathroom to see the dorm empty. She sighed and grabbed her keys and phone before leaving, closing the door behind her.
Could you maybe do something where the reader joins the marvel cast from a very young age (4 ish) and has now grown up to be a teenager (14-15), maybe it’s like their bday and the cast is making posts and stuff talking about how much reader has grown up and improved as an actor. Hopefully that made sense! <3333
“Y/N, your needed at makeup.” One of the producers called through your trailer door. “coming.” You called wiping your face.
You made your way into your, f/c, bathroom and splashed your face with water to remove the tear stains on your cheeks before leaving your trailer. As you locked up you bumped into your older brothers of four years, Max and Charlie.
“Hey Y/N.” Max smiled throwing his arm around me. “Hi.” You smiled softly. “Are you ok?You seem, upset.” Charlie asked looking at you with concern. “I’m fine. Just tired.” You lied. “If your sure, but you’d tell us if something was up, right?” “Course. I’ve to head to makeup.” You shrugged before leaving them for makeup.
After getting your hair and makeup done you made my way to wardrobe. You played the character Eve, which was Aiden and Ethans little sister. Once you were in your dark purple top, black skinny jeans, dark purple top and black leather jacket you made your way to set.
Dylan, Tyler, Holland and your brothers were there when you got there. You sat beside Holland who smiled at you before going back to talking to Dylan.
“Y/N and Tyler to set please, Y/N and Tyler.” You heard over the speakers.
You grabbed your script before heading off to the makeshift bedroom belonging to your character. I turned on the laptop and got ready on the bed.
“And action.”
I looked at the screen before grabbing a pen from beside the laptop and writing something on the notebook as there was a knock on the door.
“Come in.” You, Eve, said not looking up. “Hey.” Tyler, or Scott, said walking in. “Are you going to attack me again?” You asked looking up at him scared and going stiff. “Ok for the record it was Isaac that attacked you, not me.” He pointed. You rolled your eyes before going back to scrolling through the laptop. “Aiden and Ethan got hurt.” He said causing you to freeze. “What?” You asked looking up at him. “They were, umm, fighting some, creature, and it threw Ethan back. They’re bond thingy made Aiden also pass out.” He explained using hand motion. You looked at him in shock. “What!!” You screamed tears stinging causing him to jump. “Umm, yea. i was, umm, told to ..........get.............you.” He said hesitantly. You looked at him with tears rolling down your cheeks before slamming the laptop down and getting up. You walked past him before turning to him. “Well I can’t drive come on.” You called causing him to rush past you and you roll your eyes.
“Cut. Well done guys. Break for half and hour lunch.” The director called.
You made your way back to your trailer, trying to avoid your brothers and the rest of the cast. You managed to get into your trailer without anyone realizing and locked the door before bursting into tears.
Your boyfriend of 5 years had been secretly seeing someone else behind your back for the past year. To make it worse it was your best friend and he got her pregnant. He was your first actual boyfriend.
“Y/N?” You heard with a knock on the door. You recognized it as Crystal . You ignored her and lied on your bed, turning towards the wall. “Y/N are you ok?” Again you ignored her but cried harder. Crystal heard it. “I’m going to get your brothers.” She shouted through the door before leaving.
“Y/n?”You heard Max through the door. You didn’t say anything. “Y/n open the door.” He said banging on the door. You just stayed where you were. “Y/n I’m going to open the door myself if you don’t open it in 5″ charlie began to count.
After he got to 1 you heard the sound of a key turning and soon heard the door opening.
“Y/n?” Charlie asked as he and Max moved towards me. “Go away.” My voice cracked. “What’s wrong?” he asked softly sitting on your bed. “Noting, go away.” You said trying not to cry. “You and I both know that’s not true. Come here.” He pulled you up gently and made you sit properly. You looked up at them before looking down. “Have you been crying?” Max asked crouching in front of you. You said noting. “What happened y/n?” He asked you. “I broke up with bf/n.” You whispered before crying more. “What, why? I thought you were happy with him.” Charlie asked placing an arm around you. “He cheated on me with my b/f/n and got her pregnant.” “What!!” They shouted standing up. You looked at them. “I’ll kill him.”Max said. “Don’t.” You whispered. They looked at you in shock. “Y/N he hurt you.” Charlie said sitting beside you again. “Yea, and if you kill him then b/f/n child won’t have a dad. i couldn’t wish that upon the child as much as I hate it’s mother and father.” You said. They looked at each other. “Alright then. We’ll just talk to him.” Charlie said hugging you.
You cried into his chest as he rubbed your back.
“It’s ok. We’re here for you.” He whispered, kissing your head.
Two months after her father was taken from her, y/n lay on the bed, scrolling through her phone as she looked at the pictures she had of her and her father. Many were from holidays they spent together, with one being a picture Sky had taken while Silva and her fake fought. Since the incident, y/n had tried to visit her father but any time she requested visitation hours, she was denied.
Andreas had taken to training her as a specialist, claiming that her abilities of a fairy were wasted if she wasn't willing to help the queen. Many times he placed her and Sky together, the two fighting till one was pinned to the ground, or an injury caused them to call quits. Majority of the time it was her, and as a result she was left with bruises scattered around her boy and stiff movement became her daily walking pattern. Y/n wasn't made to be a specialist and knew that she shouldn't really be training, more so focusing on her magic.
Since the changes happened in the school, y/n now stayed in the winx suite, Bloom having had convinced Rosalind that it would be best to have her around friends so she wasn't alone. It helped when the fire fairy pointed out that being around friends would mean that her fellow fire fairy wouldn't lose control if she felt like she belonged somewhere. Y/n's thoughts were disrupted when there was a knock on the door, and she hummed as she looked up as the door opened.
"We have magic practice in the circle in an hour." Aisha stated as she peeped her head through the crack of the open door. "Okay, I'll be there in a minute." Y/n nodded before sighing when door closed and turning off phone before getting up and heading to the circle.
"Your emotions are a barrier. Nothing more, nothing less. They're a power source. You've been told to control them." Rosalind explained, glancing at y/n as she stared ahead at the ground. "That isn't always the best option. In combat, you'll need to rely on instinct." She moved and stood in front of y/n, tapping her foot on the students causing y/n to look up "That's when you find true power. Bloom, y/n. Fire on fire, who wins against Marco, an air fairy."
Y/n looked at Rosalind from the side of her eye only to see the new headmistresses eye brow raised in a way that told her not to attempt anything stupid. She looked ahead to see Marco standing in front of the two fire fairies, getting ready to use his magic. Y/n glanced at Bloom who nodded at her in encouragement before they summoned a ball of fire each, throwing it at Marco only for him to shoot electric balls at them, distinguishing the fire as the two groaned. Y/n flicked her wrist and went to make a fire again only for Marco to shoot another ball of electric at her, hitting her shoulder causing her to gasp and fall to the ground in pain, feeling it travel to the metal object embedded in her back. Bloom sees her friend in pain so takes control of the situation, throwing ball of fire at the older fairy, only for Marco to distinguish that ball too. Bloom screams in frustration and allows her magic to get the better of her, and screamed in frustration, fire flowing over her arms.
"Good work Bloom." Rosalind praised as y/n watched Bloom calm down with wide eyes. "You okay?" Marco asked, helping y/n up off the ground. "Fine." Y/n sighed, accepting his help before moving to go sit down only for Rosalind to walk over to her. "Remember I have control over you." Rosalind whispered into y/ns ear before turning to the class, "Class dismissed."
Y/n eyes Rosalind before sighing and grabbing her back, opting to go watch Sky training for a bit. On her way she glanced towards Rosalind, seeing Bloom and her talking quietly. She just sighed and headed towards the specialist area, knowing Sky would need her with Andreas.
-----------------------------
Y/n walked towards the training area to see Sky and Dane walking towards a platform where Andreas was watching a group of specialists training together. She groans and rolls her eyes in annoyance when he glanced her way, tilting his head to side in a cocky way. Seeing his father watching something in the distance, Sky turns to see y/n and smiles at her slightly before getting into place opposite side of Dane.
"The little prince and the upstart. This should be good. Blood first." Andreas spoke with authority. Y/n looked at him with wide eyes as Sky gave him a look. "Worried about staining your new outfit? Maybe home economics is more your speed? Is that what Saul thought. Did he wear an apron?" Andreas looked at y/n with a smirk as she looked down with sadness, taunting Sky. "Come on, let's just do it. We're not going to hurt each other." Dane spoke, wanting it to be finished.
Y/n watched as Sky got his sword ready, Dane following suit. The two stood for a minute before yelling and grunting, charging for each other. Her eyes widened as the two began to fight rough, glancing o the side as she hears footsteps walking towards her. Her eyes meet Rivens who nods at her before watching the two specialists fighting. Seeing Riven and y/n close, Andreas walks over to her, standing between them as they watch.
"Odds?" He asks Riven, y/n eyeing them from the side. "First glance, it's Sky's to lose. Danes got shit to prove. A lot of pressure." Riven spoke and y/n flinched as the swords clashed together. "Yeah Sky will, uh, give him space, let him think he's winning, then find his opportunity. I give it three, two.. nah, thing is this isn't a first glance fight. Sky won't draw blood. Dane on the other hand."
Y/n gasped as Dane nipped Sky with his sword after Sky managed to get him on the ground, drawing blood. Sky moved back in shock, stumbling onto one knee as y/n watched Dane walk off the platform before making her way over to Sky. She stands beside him as he gets up before allowing her to look at the gash on his side. He flinches as she hits against the open wound, and y/n apologized, moving her hand away. The two look at Andreas as he sees' the specialist and fairy together, opting to walk towards them.
"Perhaps we should have y/n have a go at fighting with swords." Andreas stated, stopping in front of the two. "Leave it." Sky stated through gritted teeth. "Why your father never taught you fighting is beyond me, I actually think you'd make a good specialist, better than a fairy anyway." Andreas taunted before leaving.
Sky and y/n walk over to Riven who was watching the interaction. "He's a prick." Sky stated, watching his biological father walk away. "Yeah, and he's your dad. This mean you'll give me a run for my money one day?" Riven asked, smiling slightly. "Come on, let's get you checked out." Y/n sighed before leading Sky to the greenhouse, Riven and Dane following.
--------------------------------------------
After bringing Sky to the greenhouse and seeing Terra and other earth fairies begin the mend the specialist, y/n opted to leave the school building and sit under a tree for awhile. Taking out a book, y/n leaned back against the bark of the oak tree, before starting to revise over today's lesson. However, due to voices behind her she struggled to concentrate.
Since Silva had been arrested for the attempted murder of Andreas, everyone had heard the news and it was now currently the hot topic of choice for student conversations. They particularly liked to talk about how y/n was likely to struggle with control without her father, which also wasn't too far off it sometimes, if it wasn't for the diamond embedded in her back. What it was she still didn't know, and she refused to tell any of her suite mates about it.
Leaning her head back and sighing, y/n opts to close her eyes and take deep breaths before frowning, feeling eyes on her. Moving her vision forward, she sees Rosalind walking into the greenhouse with Harvey talking to her, however the headmistress wasn't listening as she watched the young fairy in the distance. The headmistress narrows her eyes and y/n flinches forward in pain, feeling the diamond on her back burning. Realizing she wasn't getting anywhere anytime soon, y/n sighed and gathered her stuff, deciding to go back to the suite and try to get some rest, unknown of the news she would soon receive.
-----------------------------
Silva sat in the prison cell he had been placed in since his arrest, thinking about his daughter and wondering how she was. He knew how y/n was when things were hard, how vulnerable she became without him. The last time he had been gone for awhile was back during the hunting of the burned ones, and he never forgot the fear he had when she thought he she was going to lose him. And the look she gave him when he was arrested was one he would never forget, her screaming for him forever embedded in his mind, haunting him. Silva throws his head back in frustration but looks back up when the door was heard opening, Andreas walking in.
"How's it going soldier." Andreas said teasingly, moving closer to the cell his old friend sat. "Always the comedian Andreas." Silva stated jokingly, leaning back against the wall. "Yes well, just thought you would like to know how your precious daughter is getting on." Andreas stated, watching in amusement as Silva sat up straight at the mention of his only child. "Y/n, how is she, is she okay?" Silva asked, desperate to know how she was. "Oh she's fine, her fighting skills are coming along. Some specialist you could of had if you wanted." "Andreas don't do that to her, you said you'd watch over her for me. Just leave her be, she's enough going on already, she doesn't want to be that." Silva begged, not wanting his daughter to feel pressured into anything. "Oh I am watching her, we have her under control." Andreas stated before leaving Silva alone. "What's that meant to mean? What have you done to her, please just leave her be." Silva begged to know, only for his pleas to fall on deaf ears. "I'd hold onto the memories you have of your precious daughter Saul, I doubt you'll see her again." Andreas taunted the ex headmaster of Alfea before closing the door behind him.
Silva allowed tears fall silently as he realized his faith was all but sealed, when all he wanted was to see his daughter.
Info: The younger kids may be the ones who steal Jensen’s attention, but their father can always tell when their sister is having a tough time
Warning: Depression, sadness, loneliness
Relationship: Jensen Ackles x daughter reader
December rolled by quicker than expected. The Ackles house had quickly been dawned with tinsel and decorations, and when school finished, the celebrations were in full swing. Daneel was busy with the youngsters, trying to keep them busy while they waited on their father to come back from filming for the year. Jensen was wrapping up filming this weekend, leaving a whole week before Christmas for the family to prepare and finish traditions.
But while the three youngest Ackles bounded up to the door to greet their father, the oldest stayed behind with their mother. Y/n was now a 17 year old, high school graduate, who was currently studying music and dynamics. She took after her father in the music industry, which meant she had infinite possibilities when it came to her career path. She had always been close with her father, and being only one when her father met Daneel, the woman had become y/n’s mom pretty quickly. Seeing her oldest standing to the side, Daneel wrapped an arm around her waist, leaning her head on y/n’s shoulder.
“Aren’t you going to go see your dad y/n?” Daneel asked. “In a minute. The sooner the kids see him the sooner they get to bed.” Y/n spoke lightly, pointing at the clock that’s arm was near 11pm. “I don’t think they’ll be sleeping much tonight. Not with them going to see Santa tomorrow.” Daneel noted, and y/n groaned inwardly “Do I have to go tomorrow?” “Y/n, you know we always do it as a family.” Daneel scolded her, and y/n sighed. “I don’t really feel like doing it this year.” Y/n spoke. “What you talking about, you love Christmas.” Daneel frowned before the kids came running to them, Jensen in tow.
“Y/n love.” Jensen sighed, pulling his oldest into a tight hug. “Hi Dad.” Y/n sighed, burying her head in his shoulder and they hugged each other tightly. “How are you? I feel we haven’t talked in ages.” Jensen sighed, frowning a little as he felt her squeeze him tightly. “Yea, been busy with music. We’re writing music at the minute which is cool.” Y/n shrugged, looking down as the father daughter duo pulled away. “Well I would love to hear it.” Jensen smiled, proud of his daughter. “Maybe.” Y/n shrugged again, looking down at her siblings as Daneel tried to wound them up to bed. “Hey kids, why don’t we head to bed, leave mum and dad alone.” Y/n spoke out, trying to help Daneel. “I thought you and your father could spend time together.” “That’s okay. I’m tired so I’m gonna hit the bed myself. But maybe tomorrow night, yea?” Y/n asked, looking from her father to her mother.
“Sounds good.” Jensen smiles, ruffling Zep’s hair as y/n pushed JJ to mae her way up, the twings following.
Through the years I've moved a lot Different doors with different locks But somehow Christmas always finds me It's been a while since I wished For roller blades and pixie sticks But somehow Christmas always finds me
Y/n groaned as she flipped over on the bed, trying to avoid the morning light that was threatening the shine through the curtains. Sheets littered her bed, and her guitar was leaning against her locker, her piano set up at the bottom of the bed. Sleep was hard to find these days, so most of her night consumed with her degree. With her new assignment, she was glad her father had set her room to be noise cancelling. She had always loved music, and when babies were around her practice sessions weren’t always perfectly timed, so Jensen had decided to sound proof her room, both for their sanity and hers.
A knock on the door caused her to look up, and she sighed when she seen Jensen pop his head in before the door was pushed open by JJ, who ran to jump onto her older sisters bed. Y/n gasped as the young girl jumped all over her sheets, and she glared at her as she grabbed all the papers, moving them to her locker.
“JJ be careful.” Y/n snapped, causing JJ to look at her. “Mommy told us to come get you up for Santa today.” JJ squealed, before stopping when she seen her sisters glare. “I’m not going.” Y/n stated, and JJ rolled her eyes. “But you have to. We always go.” The young girl stated, pointing her hands at her sister. “I have more important things than Santa JJ.” Y/n snapped again, causing JJ’s eyes to widen. “JJ, go tell mommy y/n and I will be down in a minute.” Jensen spoke, trying to avoid a screaming math between the sisters.
Y/n watched JJ leave with a sigh before moving to sort out the papers that JJ had crumpled from her jumping. Jensen sighed and rubbed his face as he sat down at the edge of the bed, playing a key on the piano before clearing his throat when y/n looked at him from the side of her eye.
“Look, you didn’t have to be so short with your sister.” Jensen started, giving y/n a pointed look when she turned to him. “She crumpled up my sheets.” Y/n stated, still flattening them out. “She was excited, so were you at her age.” “Not any more.” Y/n deadpanned, causing Jensen to sigh and look around. “This part of your song your working on?” Jensen asked, catching sight of some sheets on the keyboard. “Part of it.” Y/n sighed, looking to see what he was looking at. “Can you play it for me?” Jensen asked, loving a chance to listen his daughters talent. “It’s not finished yet, I haven’t even found the right words.” “We all start somewhere.” Jensen implied, placing a hand around y/n’s shoulder, “Please?” He asked again, placing his chin on her shoulder.
Y/n sighed and placed the sheets in her hand on the locker before scooting behind Jensen to get to her keyboard. Jensen watched her with a smile, moving to lean against her pillows as she prepared to play. He watched her fingers move effortlessly as the tune came to life. Closing his eyes, he smiled as he heard her begin to hum to the keys. As she came to a stop, she refused to look at her father, flinching a little as she felt his arms wrap around her from behind.
“That was great love.” Jensen smiled, pecking her cheek gently. “It’s only the start, still have away to go.” Y/n tried to justify. “It’s a great start. Do you need help with the lyrics.” Jensen asked, always wiling to help his kids. “No that’s okay. I know what I want to say, just not sure how.” Y/n shoot him down, and Jensen frowned, knowing she always liked when he helped her with her music. “Alright, well don’t be afraid to ask if you need me.” Jensen offered. “I know dad.” Y/n smiled slightly, trying to ease her fathers worry. “Come on, get ready to go before mum comes up after us.” Jensen spoke, moving off the bed. “Do I really have to go?” Y/n sighed. “Come on, you always enjoy it.” Jensen sighed, placing a hand on y/n’s shoulder. “I don’t feel like it today. Why don’t we go tomorrow?” Y/ asked, trying to put it off. “You and I both know the kids won’t take too kindly to that. And they certainly won’t be happy if you don’t go. It’s tradition we all go.” Jensen stated, kissing y/n’s head. “I’ll see you down there.”
Y/n sighed as her father closed her bedroom door before moving to start getting ready. Throwing on a Christmas cardigan over a black dress, y/n sighed as she looked herself in the mirror before heading down to where her family were waiting by the Christmas tree. Daneel smiled as she seen her daughter, opting to take a photo of her descending the stairs before moving to get the kids into the car, while Jensen watched their oldest from behind, a frown etched on his face.
When silver bells and silent night And mistletoe's nowhere in sight With no chance of snow falling down Another year older Little harder to believe But somehow Christmas always finds me
Y/n stayed behind her parents and siblings as Jensen held onto the twins to prevent them running too far. JJ skipped in front of the group, singing along to the Christmas tunes that were heard over the speakers through the mall. Hearing the chatter of people around her, all cheerful as they waited to visit Santa, y/n couldn’t help but look down, trying to avoid conversation. Daneel looked back to her oldest daughter and seeing her keeping to herself, she eyes her husband before placing a hand on his arm, taking the twins hands.
“Hey y/n, you okay?” Jensen asked, rubbing his eldest back gently. “Yeah just tired. Didn’t sleep much last night. Guess it was the excitement of going here with the kids.” Y/n stated, trying to avoid confrontation. “Well if you want an early night that’s fine. Can leave films for another night.” Jensen suggested, trying to ease her daughter’s tiredness. “Yea, maybe.” Y/n agreed, shrugging a little before looking down at JJ who was jumping at her excitedly. “We’re next.” JJ stated, trying to take her sisters hand. “Sure are JJ.” Y/n smiled at the girl before moving with her to Santa.
Jensen sighed in slight disappointment as he eyed his oldest daughter help Zepplin and Arrow onto Santa’s lap. JJ positioned herself on the arm of Santas chair while y/n opted to stand to the side, leaning against the back of the chair with her arms crossed. Daneel gave y/n a look causing y/n to sigh before moving to crouch down beside Arrow, taking the young girls hand while wrapping her arm around her shoulders. Once the photo was taken y/n instantly moved away from the kids, allowing them to speak to Santa on their own. Daneel wrapped an arm around her eldest waist, smiling slightly as the girl leaned into her touch.
“What you say we go grab some Nando’s after here?” Daneel asked, looking at y/n with a smile. “Mom, you know I’m trying to cut out fast foods. Being in College you rely on them heavily when you get too lazy to cook.” Y/n joked, and her father eyed her warily. “I’m concerned for your heart love.” Jensen stated, causing y/n to roll her eyes. “I’m kidding dad, I got takeaway max once a week. With mum’s amazing cooking I got away lightly with pre made meals.” Y/n smiled at her parents, causing Daneel to blush slightly. “Well it’s the least I can do for my talented daughter.” Daneel stated, squeezing her slightly. “Yeah, well I think I’m going to drive home after this, work more on my assignments.” Y/n shrugged, wanting to get away from the festivities for a while. “That’s not like you.” Daneel frowned. “Well college changes people.” Y/n shrugged, causing Jensen to narrow his eyes at her. “Why don’t I accompany you home, you can handle the kids on your own right hun?” Jensen asked Daneel, looking down at his wife who eyes her. “I mean yea I guess I could.” Daneel agreed, causing y/n to look at her unconvinced. “Dad it’s fine. Help mum with the kids, the twins especially are gonna be very hyper after that lolly.” Y/n pointed at the big lollypops the elves gave the kids as their visit finished. “No I’ll be fine. You go with your dad, spend some time together.” Daneel suggested to y/n, causing Jensen to smile widely. “It’ll be fun.” Jensen nodded, looking at y/n as she looked down. “I suppose so.” Y/n stated, moving away from her parents as the kids returned.
In traffic jams and shopping malls I lose the magic of it all But somehow Christmas always finds me
Jensen leaned his arm against the passenger window, his head resting on his hand as y/n drove her car back to the house. Sitting in the passenger sit with his daughter driving always brought memories of when he thought her to drive. Daneel refused to do it as it was always lead to screaming matches between the two, so Jensen was given the task to teach her. Beams of lights shone as they passed cars, and Jensen smiled as he remembered what y/n used to describe the stream of cars.
“The lights kind of remind you of the Christmas lights right?” Jensen smiled, knowing y/n would agree. “I guess.” Y/n sighed, keeping her eyes on the road. “Why don’t we put on some Christmas music, going to get caught in some traffic.” Jensen suggested, moving to turn on the Bluetooth. “I think I’d rather the radio to be honest.” Y/n sighed, switching off the music as ‘merry Christmas everyone’ began to play. “You always love listening to Christmas music while we’re in the car. Some karaoke.” Jensen spoke, confused on why she shut it off so quickly. “Not this year dad, I’d rather concentrate on the road.” Y/n blinked, squinting her eyes slightly. “If your too tired to drive I can take over.” Jensen spoke, concerned she wouldn’t be able to concentrate on the road. “No, I’ll be okay. We’re nearly home anyway.” Y/n spoke as she turned off the main road, sighing as they meet traffic. “You were saying.” Jensen smirked slightly, chucking at his daughters frustrations. “Why is it so busy this time of year?” Y/n muttered, slowing down quickly. “You never were one for patience.” Jensen laughed, and y/n rolled her eyes quickly. “I just want to get home to finish my assignment.” Y/n groaned, tapping her fingers in frustration. “Why don’t I help you when we get back. Can make it go by quicker?” Jensen suggested, seeing the stress presenting his daughters body. “No that’s okay” Y/n replied quickly, causing Jensen to turn to her. “That was a quick answer.” Jensen stated. “Everything okay?” “Maybe we should listen to some Christmas songs to pass the time.” Y/n tried to avoid the conversation, and Jensen could tell. “Y/n, you know you can talk to me.” Jensen spoke softly, squeezing the top of y/n’s hand as it lay on the gear stick. “I was thinking, maybe tonight we could watch a movie in my room, sleepover vibes, just like when I was young.” Y/n suggested, trying to get away from feelings. “I think that’s a great idea.” Jensen smiled softly, knowing she would come to him when she needed to. “You sort out the snacks while I work on my assignment.” Y/n suggested, and Jensen sighed. “Your really dead set on doing your assignment aren’t you.” Jensen stated. “It’s Christmas dad.” Y/n shrugged, slight disappointment in her tone. “Yeah, it’s Christmas.” Jensen agreed, just glad she wanted to spend time with him.
When silver bells and silent night And mistletoe's nowhere in sight With no chance of snow falling down Another year older Little harder to believe But somehow Christmas always finds me
Y/n rubbed her eyes as she attempted to finish writing the last verse of her song. She sniffed slightly as she hummed the tune, reading over the words before nodding in approval. She had opted to write what she was feelings, and with this Christmas season feeling upside down, she opted to write on how she felt with her family still celebrating Christmas. With kids around it meant that she had to at least pretend she was enjoying the festivities, but it was hard. This year brought nothing but stress and struggles for y/n, and with it flying by so fast it just felt like another day to her.
Jensen sang ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ quietly as he prepared the snack tray for his and y/n’s movie night. Daneel had finished getting the kids ready for the night, and was going to have a girls night in with Gen in the living room. It was rare that Jensen got to spend one on one time with his oldest. With three kids significantly younger than her, majority of his time was split between them. During filming, he’d often call her to check on her, with her first year away from home on campus he was determined to make sure she was okay.
Humming happily to himself, he made his way up the stairs, watching his feet on the steps before walking towards y/n’s bedroom door. Knocking slightly, he waited for her to call or open the door, but he frowned when he seen her.
“Hey, you okay?” He asked, seeing her watery eyes. “Yea, just finished my song so, all ready for tonight.” Y/n stated, wiping her eyes. “Was it a sad song or something?” Jensen asked, placing the tray on her bed to face her. “I guess.” Y/n shrugged, and Jensen frowned, “Just wrote how I felt.” “That’s a good way to let go of emotions.” Jensen nodded, “Wanna talk about it?” “Actually, I think I’d rather just watch the film.” Y/n stated, and Jensen smiled. “That’s okay. Once you know you can come to me about anything.” Jensen smiled at his daughter, placing a hand on her shoulder. “I know dad.” Y/n smiled, moving in for a hug, “Now, what treats did you bring?” “Well I tried to make it a little festive, so majority are either shaped Christmassy or green and red.” Jensen spoke, happy with himself. “Looks amazing.” Y/n smiled, moving to pick a Christmas hat from the tray. “Now, what are we watching?” Jensen asked, rubbing his hands together in anticipation.
It takes me back to younger days Of stockings on the fireplace And presents stacked And waiting by the tree And even if I'm all alone A million miles away from home It shows up in warm memory
The Christmas period went by fast, and soon it was Christmas eve. Daneel had been busy all day prepping for the Christmas dinner, and y/n had baked some cookies to be left out for Santa this evening with the kids. It was a rare time for y/n to be out of her room, she had spent most of it lounging around, avoiding the festive activities. Jensen was sorting out the front of the tree so the kids had somewhere to place the carrot, milk and cookies for Santa.
Y/n pursed her lip as she lay the tray of cookies to the side to rest. She wasn’t really feeling the festivities, but she decided to go help her father none the less. Seeing him standing at the front of the tree with his hands on his hips made her laugh lightly, and she sneaked a picture before moving to wrap an arm around.
“Hey there.” Jensen smiled, looking down at his eldest as she latched onto him. “Hi.” Y/n spoke, leaning into his embrace. “You finished the cookies?” “Yea, they’re cooling now. The task now is to prevent little hands getting at them.” Y/n stated, and Jensen nodded in agreement. “Gonna be tough.” Jensen spoke, pretending to shake her. The father daughter duo stood in silence, y/n looking down in thought. “You okay?” Jensen asked, seeing his daughters spaced off look. “Do you maybe, wanna hear my song?” Y/ blurted out quickly before she changed her mind. “I would love to.” Jensen smiled, glad she was letting him in. “It’s not an upbeat song, just to warn you.” Y/n stated as she walked slowly up the stairs. “I’m sure it’s amazing.” Jensen smiled reassuringly, following behind her.
Y/n walked in silence as they entered her room, and she sat by her keyboard, Jensen taking a seat on her bed. Breathing in deeply she glanced up to her father to see him smiling reassuringly. Seeing her shaking hands he winked at her to assure her it was okay. Tapping the keys to ensure it was on, She cleared her throat as she began to sing.
“Through the years….”
Jensen watched y/n with a sad smile as she sung, her confidence growing as she got into it. Realizing that she was actually singing how she felt this Christmas, his heart pulled as tears filled his eyes. This year had been a big change for the Ackles, with y/n no longer being home the house felt more empty. The family were used to Jensen being away for long periods of time, but when the eldest child left, a hole was felt. But for y/n, her first year of college was hard. The stress of continuous assignments being due, lead to her falling into a hole, a hole that was hard to get out of.
As she finished her song, y/n looked down with tears in er eyes, before jumping when she felt arms wrap around her. She closed her eyes as her father tightened his grip on her, and she sighed as he kissed her head from behind.
“Y/n love, you are one talented person.” Jensen sighed, rocking her gently. “I’m sorry I haven’t been excited this year.” Y/n spoke, moving to hold Jensen’s arms in her hands. “It’s okay, it is definitely ok not to feel festive.” Jensen sighed, moving to crouch in front of his daughter, “What your feeling is okay. There are others out there feeling the same for numerous reasons. You don’t have to feel anything if you don’t want to.” “I tried dad I really tried.” Y/n cried, moving to hug Jensen tightly. “Hey shush now, your okay. I’m here. You don’t have to try anything.” Jensen comforted her, rubbing her back gently. “I tried to hide it, I really did.” “You don’t have to hide anything. You can always come to me, I’m here for you alright.” Jensen spoke, moving to hold y/n’s face in his hands. “I love you dad.” Y/n sighed as Jensen brushed the tears away. “I love you too.” Jensen smiled, glad her daughter opened up.
Another year older Getting harder to believe But somehow Christmas always find me
Christmas morning was chaus in the Ackles household. JJ, Arrow and Zepplin were running wild though their parents rooms and their sisters, wanting to go downstairs and see what Santa had brought. Y/n groaned at being woken up, but allowed her brother to tug her out of bed. Deciding to sit away from the madness, she opted to sit on the stairs, leaning her head in her hand as she watched her siblings sort out the presents. She looked up when she felt a hand on her head and her father smiled down at her before moving to sit with her mother.
Christmas isn’t always a joyful time, and y/n was okay with that. She was okay with staying away from festivities this year, once she had her dad by her side.
Frank's leg shook with fear of unknown as his car pulled up to the scene, the police force moving to allow the commissioners car to enter. Tape outlined the perimeter and crowds of onlookers and parents watched despite the forces attempts to get them to evacuate the area. As the car came to a stop Frank jumped out before his protection officers got to open the door for him, heading towards the scene.
Danny stood by his car, talking to the head of the case about what was happening when he heard another car pull up, and looked towards it to see his father. He watched as his dad got out of the car and moved towards him, his security quick to follow. Fear was present in both Reagan men as they nodded at each other.
“Commissioner, why are you here?” The head police asked in confusion. “Well, when family is involved I will be there.” Frank stated, causing the heads confusion to increase. “There’s a Reagan in there?” “Yes, there is. So, can you tell me what is going on and how long you plan to wait before entering that building to find the shooter.” Frank ordered. “They can’t find him dad, they have spotters watching out for someone who holds anything like a gun.” Danny stated, indicating to the guards with excess protection moving to evaluate the school. “And how long will that take?” “We’re trying as fast as we can sir.” The head spoke up, trying to keep the Reagans calm. “Well maybe you should be helping them instead of standing around here.” Frank spoke out of character, letting his worry show. “With all due respect sir, you and I both know that we have as many forces as we can circling the perimeter and preparing to enter when we get the go ahead.” The head spoke, warning the commissioner that he was showing feelings, a no no in the work force they were in. “Your right, sorry, continue on.” Frank dismissed the police who nodded and left the father son duo alone.
“Dad, Danny.”
The named men turned their attention to the voice that called out to them to see the Reagans youngest son hopping out of a barely stopped police car. Jamie jumped out of the car and rushed towards his family, not bothering to wait for his partner.
“Jamie.” Frank acknowledged his youngest son before turning towards the school building. “How long you reckon it will take.” Danny asked his father, putting his hands on his hips. “Could take hours, less than an hour. These situations are hard to tell, too many hostages that could get harmed with one slip up, we need to be sensitive of the situation and make sure that we get as many people out as possible, unharmed.” Frank answered, not moving his eyes from the building that held his daughter. “Has anyone heard from y/n?” Jamie asked, watching his dad and brother shake their heads. “I messaged her, she’s doing the right thing not answering, we don’t know anything, for all we know the shooter could have someone tracking any outside communication.” “She’ll be okay right?” Jamie asked, knowing that no one could answer honestly with the situation at hand. “She’s a Reagan.” Danny stated, eyeing his dad before heading towards Jackie, hoping to keep his mind from his sister.
“She’ll be okay Danny.” Jackie stated as her partner rubbed his face in frustration. “Yeah, tell me that when I see her.” Danny stated, opening the door to the car before getting into it, allowing his emotions to get the better of him for a minute.
“How you holding up dad, honestly.” Jamie asked after watching Danny walk away. “I just want my daughter back in safe grounds Jamie, she shouldn’t have to deal with this in her work force, no teacher should.” Frank stated, shaking his head to get rid of emotions present. “We’ll get her out dad, and be there for her like she has been for us.” Jamie stated. “She’ll need us if she gets out.” “When she get’s out.” Jamie corrected her dad, patting his shoulder before leaving to help his partner with the crowds of concerned parents.
-------------------------------------
2hrs later and y/n still sat at the same position near the door, listening outside for any sound of movement as students sat in fear. They heard the occasional bands and each one caused everyone to flinch, afraid of what was to come. Despite her best efforts to keep her students calm, both her and them feared for the unknown. Still, she knew her dad and brothers were outside or close by rom the message her father has sent her. She was afraid to answer him incase they could be tracked via phones.
Once a month the new normal was to practice drills on what to do and how to handle situations like this, but never had she thought she would become involved in an active shooting and hostage situation. Y/n was scared and felt like she let down her students. Reality was that if it came to it, she would rather take a bullet for her students than watch the bullet engrave them, but even then she wouldn't be able to save them if the shooter found where they were. She would be the one to live with her students death, the kids would have to live with having watched their fellow student die from the hand of a bullet. Students would be terrified to come to school after this, hell, she wouldn't be able to walk into the school building without thinking of the lives that were inevitable lost, lives that should still be with them.
Y/n's thoughts were interrupted when she heard a piercing bank outside the door. Students gasped and screamed at how close the sound was, causing y/n to scramble to her knees and move closer to the group of kids, shushing them. Footsteps were heard outside and she placed her finger to her lips, pleading with the students to stay quiet. Closing her eyes, y/n prayed as a tear fell from her eyes, allowing emotions to come through. Hearing the door handle being fiddled with, y/n moved back towards the door and held her breath, not knowing who was on the other side.
“Police, open up.” A gruff voice was heard and y/n’s eyes widened, not knowing what to do.
The voice coming from behind the door was not the police, that was not how police alerted them of being there, teachers were told they would be told the officers name, badge number and institute of residence. The students in y/n's care watched her as she shook her head not to say anything as she bent down, avoiding the small window that was covered in case there was a gap. She breathed out shakily, coaching the students to follow her lead in hopes of calming them down. The room remained silent as they listened, wondering if the man was still outside and y/n prayed they would make it out okay.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny and Jamie stood at the perimeter of the school where crowds were present, keeping concerned parents and on lookers calm and away from the active shooting area. Five shots were heard and everyone screamed, hoping and praying it wasn't their loved ones. Frank had been forced to move towards his car for safety, but he refused to get into it and now stood beside it. Everyone flinched hearing another bang from inside, some parents screamed and police indicated for them to quiet down to avoid major disturbance. Frank looked to the car as the radio came to life and Jamie and Danny eyes each other as they brought their radios closer to their ears.
“We got sight of the shooter, young man, early 20’s, heading into gym area. Enter with caution.” The voice came through. “Okay you heard him, I want people in groups of 6 moving through the main building, evacuating the building. Remain vigilant for sound and any possible movement. You know the drill, check bathrooms, offices, all rooms present. Announce name, badge number and institute of resident to alert teachers you are police, understood?” The chief asked into his radio as Frank walked towards him.
A chorus of 'understood' came through and the armed forces began to enter the building, splitting into smaller groups upon entrance. Danny and Jamie moved closer to their father, fear present on the three men's faces. They knew they couldn't go in but all they wanted to do was get y/n and bring her to safety. Frank nodded at his two boys, watching the crowds of armed forces enter.
“A step closer to getting her out.” Frank stated, not taking his eyes away from the school building. “A step closer to knowing she’s okay.” Danny agreed, hoping this would be over soon.
Based on early season
25 year old y/n Reagan was the youngest of Commissioner Frank Reagans kids. Being the youngest her family cared for her deeply. Her life was slightly different than those of her family, being a high school teacher was something she always wanted to do. The family line of cops and army life never appealed to her, so like her sister she steered clear of that workforce. She remembered her beloved deceased brother Joe letting her hold his unloaded gun, and she hated the feel of it. She didn't like the thought of having t put a bullet into someone, even when it was to protect someone else. Y/n thought PE and Biology as well as coached the girls baseball team (one she fought for when she first joined the school) every Wednesday afterschool.
She was closest with her gramps, they often played chess together and many a night Frank would come home from work and see his father and daughter sitting in the living room watching friends ( though if anyone asked Henry would strongly deny it). Her pops often joined her for the coaching sessions before heading back to his where he would cook dinner before she left back to hers.
She was the younger sister that Linda always wished for, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see y/n helping her sister in law around the house or cooking, and Linda always made sure to make time to help y/n get her class room ready for the school year.
Y/n was quiet compared to her older siblings, and because of that Danny had always been overprotective of her. He didn't like her being around cases the family worked on, and often kept her away from the conversations if she could, making dinner conversations of cases short when she was present. Many a time he would meet her for coffee during the week, or bring her some lunch when he had a case that reminded him of her. He made sure that y/n would always text when she was home if she was out late or if a criminal was on the lose.
Jamie had made it a habit to sit down and have drinks with her after a tough day. Despite being there to help her brother, y/n was never told of his day and what lead to him becoming so stressed, which frustrated her but she accepted it none the less.
Being the only two girls of a family of boys, Erin and y/n often spent Sundays doing something together before church and family dinner. Their schedule prevented them from spending much time together so when they could, they would leave for a week, Nikki joining them, and head somewhere they hadn't been before to explore.
Her family always looked after her, and father was no exception. Frank always made sure to check up on her, regardless on what went on that day. He knew the school shootings happening in America effected her, and wanted to make sure that she knew she was safe and nothing would happen to her. He even went so far to make sure that the Reagan family saying 'please don't hurt my family' was drilled in her head. She was well protected and always had someone watching her back.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Reagan family at at the dinner table at Henry and Franks for their weekly Sunday family dinner after church. Y/n sat beside her dad and Erin, picking at her food as she half listened to her family talking about the recent increase of school shootings around the town. Too focused in her own thoughts, she jumped when she was elbowed before glaring at Erin in annoyance.
"Oww, what?" Y/n snapped at her sister before whipping her head to face her dad as he raised a finger in warning.
"Gramps was asking what's wrong with you, your not eating much." Erin stated, tilting her head to the side slightly.
"Sorry Gramps, just thoughts spiraling around my head. Classes have been busy with assessments and we had a practice session today." Y/n explained, watching as her family turned their attention to her, Danny eyeing her with slight concern.
"Teachers have a busy schedule? I always thought they just gave us work and went home to rest." Sean stated causing y/n to laugh slightly.
"Well if you consider grading papers, correcting homework, teaching kids new material, planning classes and making sure that you are all ready for the real world easy, than yeah it's a job for lots of rest." Y/n explained causing Jack to laugh at his brother playfully.
"But compared to dads job it's easy right?" Sean asked, looking towards his aunt.
"Every job is difficult in it's own way Sean, no one has an easier job than anyone else. It may seem like it to you but I'm sure dealing with kids on the daily ain't easy. I mean I only have you and Jack and sometimes I struggle with it." Linda explained to her son.
"So you don't just rest?" Sean asked, second guessing everything he thought.
"God I wish." Y/n stated, stabbing her meat and taking a bite as everyone laughed at her reaction.
"As opposed to your very busy schedule. Everything will work out in the end y/n, your a great teacher and those kids are lucky to have you as their mentor through life." Frank stated, putting a hand on his youngest daughters shoulder as she chuckled lightly.
"Mentor through life, way to be dramatic dad." y/n laughed, taking her glass of wine and taking a sip.
"You seem to forget he's commissioner of police y/n, dramatic is in the job description." Jamie stated and everyone laughed once again.
Y/n shook her head as she laughed with her family, glad to have them around her. She glanced in front of her to see Danny looking at her with a small smile. He winked at her in assurance before taking a bite of his food, and y/n smiled at him before looking down at her plate o continue her own food. Grabbing her glass of wine, she smirked at her pops when he mentioned about needing a rematch on the chess game they had played last week.
"Didn't y/n win that one?" Nikki asked, smirking at y/n who nodded her head in appreciation.
"Nah, I was going easy on her." Henry stated, taking a drink from his own glass.
"Nah, your gramps is just a sore loser, I won fair and square right Jack." Y/n asked, glancing at the boy who had watched their game.
"Right." Jack nodded causing everyone to laugh once again.
----------------------------------------------
The following day y/n was teaching her regular PE class, and she watched the group of students as they started to run laps of the court. Hearing footsteps outside the door, she folded her arms and turned her head to the sound. Deciding to check it our, she made her way over to the door, ready to give out to students ditching class, only to see no one. Squinting her eyes in confusion, Ms. Reagan made her way back into the hall, clapping her hands to gain the students attention.
"Alright guys, grab some balls and were gonna do volleyball. One on one." She announced, grabbing the net full of soft balls before placing it in the middle of the floor, allowing students to grab them and pair up. "The rules are...."
Y/n was interrupted by an echoing bang being heard, causing the students to look around the hall. Hearing it again, closer than before, the students flinch at the sound. Y/n's eyes widened as she realized the sound, the sound of a gun. She looked around the hall before seeing the storage unit, knowing it wasn't exactly spacious but she needed to figure out something before the person responsible for the shots found them. They couldn't stay in the hall it was way too open.
"Alright, everyone be calm, we need to find somewhere to hide, no need to panic, just follow me into the storage unit, keep your heads low, does everyone understand me." Y/n explained slowly, indicating for everyone to crouch down, "Treat it like the ones we practiced. Hid behind anything in there, I will lock and block the door once everyone is in there, it's going to be a tight squeeze but make it work."
Y/n watched the students eyes widen in fear as they realized what was happening. Shushing the students who whimpered, and knowing they didn't have much time to waste, she began pushing students towards the unit. Students began to follow each other and y/n ran towards the door to lock it and grabbed the bag which had held the balls to make it more difficult for the shooter to determine people were present.
Upon making it to the unit she locked the door and ordered students to grab some of the ridiculously heavy gym mats to barricade it, blocking the windows that would risk exposure. She sighed deeply and watched students huddle close to their friends, sliding down the mats to be close to the door.
"Okay guys, I know you have phones on you. I need you to contact those who need to know what's going on and put them on silent. Do not tell anyone where you are hiding, we do not know who or where they are, but they may have someone's phone or be able to track our phones, understood." Y/n whispered sternly, trying to keep everyone, and herself, calm.
Y/n grabbed the laptop left at the side of the storage unit for emergencies and checked to see if any emails was out about what was going on. She knew it was only a matter of time till one, or both, f her brothers would catch wind of what was going on and would make their way to aid, her father would no doubt follow. She just needed to keep her students safe and sane until help arrived.
-------------------------------
Danny sat at his desk as he worked on some paperwork with Jackie after finishing another case. Turning to his computer he began to look at some evidence from labs when something came over the radio.
"School shooting in operation, Location: Local high school, All units available please respond. Armed forces are required." A dispatcher announced causing Danny's eyes to widen in shock before jumping up.
"Danny, what's up?." Jackie asked, concerned for her partners sudden movement as she also got up.
"Y/n teaches there." He responded, grabbing his gun and putting it in it's holster and clipping his badge in a rush before taking his car keys.
"That's where y/n teaches?" Jackie asked, also getting up and grabbing her gun and badge.
"Yep, now let's go." Danny ordered, before rushing out of the office, Jackie rushing to keep up with him.
"Detective Curatola and Detective Reagan on route to shooting." Jackie reported back to dispatch as she got in the car just in time for Danny to speed off, sirens blaring.
Jamie and officer Renzulli sat in their patrol car, watching the city in the corner while eating their lunch. Jamie bit into his sandwich as he listened to his mentor explain his recent dilemma with his wife before stopping as they heard the car radio cackle to life.
"All available units please respond. School shooting in operation, Location: local high school. Armed forces are required."
"Shit." Jamie cursed, pushing his lunch onto the floor , not caring where it went as he heard the school name.
"What's the stress for Reagan, call us in." Officer Renzulli stated, pointing at the radio as he started the car.
"Officer Reagan and Officer Renzulli available on route." Jamie called into the radio before putting on the sirens and answering his mentors question "My sister works there."
"Erin, isn't she a lawyer."
"No my other sister y/n. Can't we go any faster." Jamie asked, agitated to get there.
"I'm going, I'm going. Don't worry I'm sure she'll be in a safe place, don't schools to training for these type of things."
"Yeah, but you and I both know training is nothing like an actual scenario." Jamie explained, not in the mood to be talking.
"True that." Renzulli agreed, realizing Jamie didn't want to talk any more.
Frank sat in his office, currently in his latest monthly meeting with the fire commissioner. He loved being commissioner but sometimes these meetings seemed to drag on. He sighed and rubbed his forehead in frustration before his office door opened and Baker came through.
"Baker." Frank stated, looking up at his receptionist.
"Sorry commissioner, emergency within the police districts, dispatch has been asking for any available units to respond to the situation. Said armed forces were required for a school shooting." Baker relayed information to her boss who watched her in thought.
"Oh God." The fire commissioner swore under his breath causing Frank to glance his way before returning his gaze to Baker.
"What school?" He asked, trying to hide the lump formed in his throat."
"The local high school sir." Baker replied, watching as the commissioner took a deep breath and look down, head in his hands.
"Baker, call for a car. I don't need a driver, just the car." Frank ordered softly as he refused to look at anyone.
"Sir?" The woman asked confused, " You can't go, commissioners don't respond to shootings."
"Baker I didn't ask for your input I asked for a car. I need to get there and I don't care how, just find a way." Frank stated sternly, looking ahead of him.
"But sir."
"Baker, my daughter works there and I need to be there to see what's happening, so get me a car and tell them that the commissioner is on his way." Frank ordered, standing up and putting his hands on the table in front of him, looking at her finally.
"Right away sir." Baker responded, knowing no Reagan would take no when it's family involved.
"I'm sorry commissioner but we will need to postpone this meeting." Frank stated, looking at his fellow commissioner as he opened the drawer which contained his gun and badge.
"Don't sweat it sir, I pray for your daughters safety."
"Thank you."
Frank nodded is head at his fellow commissioner and left the office. He sighed in sorrow as thought of his youngest daughter being held hostage in school with a bunch of students under her protection and opted to text her 'y/n, be calm, you will be okay, we will get you and the students out safe'. As the car arrived for him he got into the back before it came to full halt and sat impatiently as they made their way to the scene.
