Summary: Overprotective!Chris and pregnant!actress!reader get swarmed by paps and Chris loses his shit when reader almost trips.

Follow the couple's life here.

..

You loved going on short walks ever since you became pregnant.

The swelling of your feet was always very frequent, and it was why you didn’t favor walking and standing on them for too long, especially since the big bump you carried around not only strained your ankles, but your back as well.

“I can’t remember the last time I had coffee,” you said, fixing the big t-shirt you were wearing that rightfully so belonged to Chris, but since your marriage, what was his was yours, and what was yours, was yours.

“You deserve that treat,” Chris said from his place on the floor, tying your shoe laces.

You hummed, one hand on his shoulder to keep yourself steady, “You know, I’m so ready for the baby to be here,” you said, “Need my caffeine so bad.”

Chris chuckled as he stood up, “I think it’s not just caffeine you need,” he said, “I think–I think you miss having good back days.”

You groaned, “God, yes,” you cradled your bump, “And not having you scolding me for, I don’t know, going up a step or something,” you giggled, teasing your husband who rolled his eyes at you with a smirk.

“You do dangerous shit, Y/N,” he reasoned, “You do!” He confirmed when you laughed, “Like–Come on, stepping on a chair to get turmeric from the shelf?”

“What else was I supposed to do?”

“Wait for me,” he pointed at himself, “Why else am I here?”

You gasped dramatically, “Oh-Oh, so you’re just here to bring down stuff now? Never mind the woman that you got pregnant, never mind her feelings. Never mind that she needs some loving on, some affec-”

“Stop, stop,” Chris laughed, wrapping his arms around you before he pecked your lips a couple of times, causing you to giggle, “And I’m here to love on you,” he said, “Also I wasn’t the only one who got you pregnant. If I–If I remember correctly, we were both o-”

“We’re not going to talk about it,” you shook your head, “Absolutely not.”

He laughed before pressing his lips against yours, “Ready to go?”

You hummed, fixing your hair, “Let’s go before you decide I need to be on bed rest or something.”

“Actually–”

“No,” you put your hand on his mouth, “No.”

With your statuses, you and Chris almost always expected paparazzi taking your pictures and trying to get any answers and statements out of you.

With your fingers intertwined with Chris’s, you walked on the sidewalk, only 5 shops away from your coffee place, and already, 3 men were in front of you, walking backward so they could film you and your husband.

“We should’ve brought the car,” Chris said quietly, his hold tight on your hand, and his body stiff as if he was getting ready to attack at any given moment.

“I miss walking to get my coffee,” you told him, fixing your sunglasses on your face, “Are you okay?”

Chris smiled softly, removing his hand from yours so he could wrap his arm around your shoulder, “I am. Are you?”

You nodded, keeping your face down from the paparazzi.

“Y/N, Chris, do you know the gender of the baby?”

“Y/N, you’re looking big!”

“How far along are you?”

“Are we going to see you on the big screen again soon?”

“Y/N, how do you feel about Chris’s new projects?”

You took a breath, concealing yourself against Chris before he stepped a little to the side, finally opening the door to the coffee place and letting you get in before him.

The soft mummers could be heard, and you could always feel when the phones were out, “discreetly” taking pictures of you and your husband.

Chris’s hands were on your shoulders from behind as the both of you walked to the familiar cashier you had befriended two years ago from how frequently you and Chris got coffee and bagels from that place.

“Hey, Omar,” you beamed at the 20-year-old boy.

“Hey, man,” Chris also greeted with a smile, “How’s it going?”

“Hey, you two!” Omar grinned, “These assholes giving you a hard time out there?” He nodded his head towards the door at the paparazzi.

Chris sucked in a breath, “When are they not?”

You glanced behind you at the door before your eyes widened, “Fucking hell, they got more.”

Omar shook his head, “We’ll help you get back to the car, no worries.”

“We walked,” you said with a small chuckle, “Bad idea.”

“Oh shit,” Omar made a face, “You can Uber though.”

“That’s a good idea,” Chris agreed, “What do you think, honey?”

You shrugged before letting out a huff, “I just want my coffee and bagel.”

Both chuckled, before Omar spoke, “The usual?”

You and Chris nodded as you leaned back against Chris while putting your hands under your bump to support it.

Chris paid, leaving a generous tip for Omar and his other colleague, Mona, before the both of you moved to the side, him pulling out a stool for you to sit on before he stood beside you.

He glanced back at the door, a sigh leaving his lips as his eyebrows furrowed in exasperation. Your hands moved to clutch his t-shirt from the sides, making him look at you, “We can get an Uber,” you told him, sensing his anxiety.

“I wanted you to walk like you wanted,” he said, looking at you in defeat with a tilt of his head.

You shook your head slightly, “It’s okay. Just another LA day,” you said, “I’ll walk as much as I want when we go to Boston after your press is done,” you assured him as you looked up ay him, “Loosen up, will you? We’re fine.”

Chris only sighed, wrapping his arms around you to bring you in a hug, his lips pressing a kiss to your head. He pulled away, his hand instantly finding your baby bump, bringing a smile to his face, “Hey, bubba,” he cooed, softly rubbing your bump.

You smiled, one of your hands reaching up

to softly graze his arm as you looked down at your 7-month bump.

“Hollywood!” The barista called out the name that she and Omar had created for you and Chris, sliding your drinks before giving you your cream cheese and salmon bagel.

“Thanks, Mona,” you smiled at the hijabi, taking your order from her.

“Any time, Hollywood. You have a good day,” she waved at you with a beam.

“You, too,” Chris smiled at her before she went back to her job, “Do you want to drink here or do you want us to leave?”

“Let’s just leave,” you said, wiggling your butt to get off of the stool before Chris was quick to hold on your waist, a worrying frown between his eyebrows as he helped you down. You let out a breath, “Even getting off a stool is a huge deal.”

Chris only chuckled, watching you take your bagel out of the wrap to take a bite, “Oh shit, the Uber,” he muttered, taking his phone out to request a car, “Come on, let’s sit you back down.”

“No no, I’m fine,” you assured him with a shake of your head, opting to lean on the chair a little.

“You sure?”

“Yeah, don’t worry.”

Chris thought that the universe was working in his favor because the moment he requested an Uber, it was only 2 minutes away.

He raised his eyebrows, “Two minutes.”

You hummed as you chewed, nodding at your husband as you stood straight before swallowing, “What’s the car?”

“It’s,” Chris smirked, tilting his head at you, “It’s a Honda Civic.”

With being the highest paid actress in the industry, with brand deals, and high-grossing movies, no amount of money could have ever made you let go of your hatchback 2008 black Honda Civic. Sure, that beat-up baby remained parked at your other house, but you clung to it like it was a child.

That explained the way your face beamed, making Chris burst out laughing, wrinkles by his eyes as he threw his head back a little.

“Don’t shit me,” you grinned excitedly.

“I’m not, baby, I’m not,” he laughed, showing you his phone.

You giggled, “It’s like—It’s like finding a missing sibling.”

At that, Chris laughed again, wrapping his arm around your shoulders to bring you closer to him, his hand stroking your head softly for a moment, “You’re actually crazy, you know that?”

“It’s a good car,” you reasoned, pulling away to look at him, “It’s super comfortable, and it’s—it’s, like, spacious but also compact. It’s just so perfect.”

“You’re a dinosaur for still having that car.”

“Says the person who had an iPhone 6 in 2022,” you replied back, teasing him with a raised eyebrow.

“It was a 6S,” he raised a finger, giving you a look as he put one hand on his hip.

“Oh, I’m sorry, so you’re not that much of a fossil, right,” you nodded jokingly, laughing when he poked your side.

“He’s here,” Chris announced, looking at his phone, “Here, let me take your bagel,” he offered.

You frowned, moving the bagel away, “But I want to eat it.”

“While we’re walking?”

“Yeah?”

“Okay,” he chuckled, rubbing your bump, “I’d rather not piss you off.”

“Good boy,” you teased, leaning to peck his lips after you had stood straight.

Chris linked your arms together, his smile falling from his face at the sight of the paparazzi who seemed to triple outside.

“Don’t let go, okay?” He asked.

“Do you need help?” Mona asked, “I can get Omar to help,” she said, pointing at her colleague.

“That’d be—That would be great actually,” Chris replied.

Omar and Mona were quick to switch, with the former hurrying towards you, “Let’s go, Hollywood,” he said as he pulled the door open, reaching his arms out, “Get back! Get back! Get back—Habibi, you’ll hurt someone like that, lak ya Allah!” (Love, you’ll hurt someone like that, oh my God!)

Omar, a bearded, tall 20-year-old wasn’t enough to handle the invasive men with cameras, and even though you kept your head low, and Chris had his other arm in front of you, you felt like you were close to crying and you probably had the pregnancy hormones to blame.

“Y/N! Chris! Is it true you’re getting a divorce?!”

“What are you going to name your baby?!”

“Chris, is it true you cheated on Y/N with Ana de Armas?!”

It was when Chris felt your body halt and turn that he quickly looked at you, noticing one man getting too close in your face.

“Can you take a step back, please?” You had respectfully asked, blocking your face with your arm.

“Hey! Hey, get the fuck back, man, get back,” Chris frowned, putting his arm between you and the man.

“I just want a shot, come on,” the man replied.

“I don’t care about your shot, get away from her,” Chris instantly replied back, his tone stern and getting louder, the veins in his neck looking prominent.

It was what happened next that seemed to happen in a blur that had your heart dropping to your stomach.

You took two steps forward with Chris, and the next thing you know, your coffees were spilled on the floor, your bagel was lying upside down, and Chris had both arms around you, preventing your fall from tripping on another paparazzi’s foot. One of your hands instantly went to your bump while the other clutched on to Chris.

“For fuck’s sake!” Chris shouted, shielding you with his body, motioning with one arm while the other was behind him, wrapped around you, “Get the fuck out of here!”

“Calm down, man, it was just an accident!”

“She almost fell, dipshit! If you don’t move the fuck away, I promise you won’t have your jobs by noon,” he pointed, watching as everyone got quiet, “Get. the fuck. back! Is that so hard? Is that so hard?” He shouted before they quietly made a path for you and Chris.

Your husband turned back to you, holding your hand tightly in his, “Eyes on me, baby,” he said with urgency, “You okay to walk?”

You nodded, “I’m okay.”

Chris nodded, moving in front of you with one arm out and the other behind him, holding your hand before you reached the car.

He opened the door for you, “Easy there, let’s go, baby, good job, baby, that’s it,” he almost cooed as you got in before he followed beside you.

He quickly took out his wallet, and looked at you when you sniffled, “Give O something for the spilled coffees, too,” you muttered, rubbing your temple, knowing what Chris was about to do.

Chris took out $600, the only amount he had in cash, giving them to Omar who closed the door for you and Chris, “Thanks for the help, and sorry about the mess, man.”

“Really sorry, O,” you said sympathetically, genuinely feeling like you were seconds away from crying as you cradled your bump.

“That’s too much, Hollywood,” Omar shook his head at the both of you.

“It’s not,” Chris said, “Come on, just take them so we can leave these little shits.”

Omar reluctantly took the money, “Are you okay, Y/N?”

You nodded, giving him a small smile, “I’m okay, O. Thanks for the help,” you said.

“I promise we’re working on the back entrance,” he said, a frown on his face.

“It’s alright,” you replied, “We’ll see you later.”

Omar nodded, waving at the both of you before your driver drove off.

“Should we stop at the hospital?” Chris asked you gently, turning his body to the side slightly as his eyes ran over you, checking for any bruises or any sign that you were hurt.

You shook your head, your eyes going tearful, “I’m okay.”

Chris noticed, his heart breaking and his face falling before he brought you into his chest, “Honey…”

“My bagel,” you cried.

“I’m sorry,” he muttered, rubbing your back, “I’ll make you one, how does that sound?”

“Not the same,” you cried again, “But—But thank you.”

At that point you were sobbing, holding on to Chris for dear life.

“You’re okay,” Chris mumbled to himself more than to you, “You’re okay, honey. You’re okay.”

“Are you okay?” You asked him, sniffling as you looked at him.

“I’m—I’m so mad,” he answered truthfully, “If something had happened to you, I—God, Y/N.”

You understood, nodding along to him before you placed your hands on his chest, “You did an amazing job.”

“You almost fucking fell, Y/N, do you know how—Do you know—“

“I didn’t,” you shook your head, “I didn’t fall and you handled it so fucking well, baby. So well.”

Chris sighed, reaching one hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose as he squeezed his eyes shut.

“Chriiiis,” you dragged, feeling your eyes get tearful again over your husband’s own tearful eyes, you placed your hands on his jaw, “We’re okay. I’m okay, you’re okay, the baby’s okay. I promise.”

“Yeah, just—That was—That was scary.”

You nodded, “It was,” you agreed, “But you handled it,” you said before pecking his lips, “And I love you for it.”

Chris sniffled, giving you a small smile, “I love you.”

MORE OF ‘THE ASSASSIN’S CREED AND THE WITCHER’S CUB' UNIVERSE

Note: I am heavily basing my character design/backstory off Assassin’s Creed lore so its abit of a cross over. I am in love with both of the games so I felt abit of a crossover would be interesting.

Your mother. That was all you could smell. It brought you a comfort you hadn’t known in decades, the sweet scent of her hair oils filling your senses like a soft kiss to your face; that was the first sign you were dreaming. Nothing in your real life was so gentle as this anymore.

“Mother,” You heard yourself ask, not in the adult tone you knew by now, the one rugged with the scars of growing up. No, this one was young, tiny. Innocent. You barely remember being this age. “What did the seer mean, that thing she said about my destiny?” You asked curiously. You couldn't have been older than five.

This was a memory, you were certain of it, though the edges were blurred with the mirage of sleep, marred with the curse of losing one's memory as a long time passes. It was so dark in this dream, the image of Mother all but a shadow. You felt your hands run through her long hair, the trellises as soft as ever. You knew she was dead, but this all felt so real.

A honeysuckle laugh met your ears, calm and liquid: “You shouldn’t worry about destiny just yet, sweet pea. It’ll make sense someday,”

Your voice, your real voice, called for her in your slumber. It was perhaps this loud noise or the rumble of speaking in your chest that started to wake you, but it didn’t stop you clinging to the dream that bit tighter.

“But what did she mean? I don’t understand, there’s no wolves around here, are there Mama?” You heard yourself questioning frantically.

She simply chuckled again, and you felt a soft stroke of a mother’s touch on your forehead, soothing your qualms about what the seer had predicted for your future.

“Hush, pea. Nothing bad will happen to you while I’m here.” She soothed. You felt the cold of the outside, the real world, calling you home as she began fading into the deepest part of your mind once more, “Now enough talk of light and wolves and other such nonsense. It’s time you slept, little one,”

And yet, in a horribly ironic turn, it was then that you awoke.

The feeling of the scratchy, cheap sheets of the bed grounded you, finally bringing you out of your solemn reminiscence of that day, along with the horrid realisation your feet were practically like ice under the thin duvet. Your eyes scanned the room for the culprit of your discomfort until your eyes snapped on it. The window was open, letting a biting cool breeze nip at your skin.

You sighed, sitting up from the bed with a groan of effort. Yesterday’s journey had been particularly exhausting and your muscles were paying the price for it.

You thought about your dream as you packed up your things to travel once more, and took a deep breath of sourness as you exited the tavern and began climbing up a nearby church steeple to survey your area closer. You took little notice to a few townsfolk below you gasping as you expertly scaled the tall tower, as if your hands were made of hooks. There was no trickery needed, you simply had years of practice. It’ll make sense someday, the soft voice reverberated around your head tauntingly, and you gave another bitter sigh.

Because your mother had lied. She had died, and yet you still had no clues to what the seer’s vision meant. It had taunted you for years since she had passed, each turn of the phrase in your head as riddling as the last. Her old croak of a voice had uttered such an illusion to you, one you would never forget as long as you would live until you found the answer you wanted.

Dear Child, she had said, The wolf and the pup will guide you to the light or drag you to the darkness.

Your eyes scanned the horizon for any sign of someone travelling through the woods, just as the target you were here to kill supposedly had been for the past three days.

Your brotherhood had informed you of a cloaked figure moving between towns in the area, said to be slaughtering villagers in the night like some human shaped grim reaper. But the villagers weren’t just chosen at random, they just so happened to be informants for your creed, those who had happily given you and your brotherhood information over the years about your targets.

You called them the Keepers. They were an order of knights and lords who managed to find themselves in high courts all across the continent, whispering in the ears of leaders to control the continent as they pleased, starting wars and slaughtering people at a flick of their wrist under the titles of advisors to the court. Your creed had been able to keep them at bay for the time being, but they were getting stronger, smarter, and now you were losing your key informants at the hands of your enemies.

So it was only logical that the brotherhood decided to send their best assassins out to hunt the killer. Or killers perhaps. You had your private suspicions that this was a much bigger plot than it seemed, that many malevolent leaders had their puppeteering fingers on the strings of these killers. They weren’t working alone.

There! Your eyes caught sight of a small flume of smoke coming from amidst the trees, around a two hours ride away from here. In all likelihood, it was nothing, yet if they were simply a traveller they may have some more information on where your newest target was.

So, the woods it was then, you decided.

“If only mother could see me now,” You almost laughed to yourself cynically at your words, checking the street below for a soft landing, your eyes narrowing on a deep enough pile of hay that would break your fall well, “So much for that destiny bullshit,”

And with that you leapt.

Geralt watched Ciri contort in her sleep, frowning as he heard her mumbling empty threats to some unknown assailant. His heart went out to the cub, it really did, he just had no idea how he was supposed to defend her from figments of her own mind. Goblins and ghouls, he could handle, but Geralt knew more than the average man that the biggest threats we faced were often the darkest parts of ourselves only we could confront.

“Stay back,” The blonde girl whimpered, her legs thrashing on the woodland floor. Geralt minded how her boot got a little too close to the hot coals that was all that remained from their fire last night and decided he needed to wake her up for her own good. As if hearing his concerned thoughts, the Cintran girl’s eyes snapped open without prompt, taking in the bright new morning they had awoken to.

“Glad to see you’re awake,” Geralt started, packing the few items he had into his rucksack ready to load Roach up for another day of journeying towards Kaer Morhen, “How did ou sle-”

“Someone’s coming,” Ciri rushed, giving little explanation as she sat upright, disturbing the dry leaves around her small body. Geralt seemed to tense up in alert in synchrony with the worry in her voice.

“What do you mean? Where?” He asked sternly, golden eyes flicking between the trees frantically to see where the problem was.

“I don’t know, I just saw them in my dream,” Ciri frowned, her eyes trying to chase the source of her vision just as much as her protector’s were. “A man in a black cloak and a mask, he was reaching for me. I couldn’t get away,” Her voice wobbled with the trace of the fear she’d felt in her dream, knowing it was about to become a reality before her very eyes. Her visions always started like this.

Geralt sighed, looking at the younger girl’s startled frame. He had forgotten what children were like when they had convinced themselves the monsters in their head were real. He was so sure she was just on edge from her morbid sleep, “Ciri, I’m sure it was just a nightmare,” The older man tried to reassure her, but the girl had since hopped up to attention, her heart racing with fear.

“No! No, Geralt, it wasn’t like the black knight. It was different this time, you have to believe me! I saw him,” Ciri said fiercely, eyes flicking through the trees as more snippets of her dream started playing out before her until… “There! A rider!”

Geralt looked at where she was pointing, her expression somewhere between triumph and fear as she locked in on the man from her dream. His attuned senses caught up to him as the sound of fast approaching hooves met his ears, and he made out the figure of a dark cloak atop a grey horse, an omen of death if ever he’d seen one.

“Go stand behind Roach. Don’t reveal yourself until I tell you it’s safe to.” Geralt ordered, blindly following the girl’s intuition. He had no idea who this person was, but the accuracy of the Princess’s dream told him to trust her word nonetheless. She followed his command, standing behind his mare’s large, muscular legs and using the surrounding bushes as slight cover from whoever this man may be.

He drew his sword as the rider approached, lifting his own dark hood over his head and hiding behind a large tree in order to size up this mystery passenger.

Geralt heard Ciri’s heart pounding from her hiding place, rhythmically in time with the hooves of the approaching horse. He felt as if he were holding his own breath, waiting for the assailant to hopefully pass by with no qualms on their position, the sound of the footfall only getting louder in his sensitive ears. He didn’t doubt his skills necessarily, he knew he could protect Ciri from any regular foe, but his time with the Cintran girl had been nothing but a handful of surprises, even the gift of her herself. It unnerved him that she had seen this man approaching them; why him?

It struck him then what was odd about the approaching fiend. He couldn't hear a heartbeat.

There was something different about this enemy, he could feel it in his gut.

The rider slowed their horse down to a trot, then to a walk as they neared the camp he and the girl had slept at. He heard them dismount gently, their feet much lighter than expected as they closed in on his makeshift campsite.

He tried to listen for any other clues as to who the target was, but all he heard was a brief fumble of a hand on the forest floor as they felt around the dying fire, no doubt trying to gage from the heat in the soil how fresh or old the flame was. They were smart, skilled at tracking it seemed.

Geralt decided it was now a good time to confront the man in question. He couldn't risk him advancing on Ciri.

The white wolf rounded the tree, sword bared and ready for a fight.

Except there was no one there.

The horse they had rode on still stood obediently, so they hadn’t left, he would have heard if they had anyway. There were no tracks, the ones that remained seemed to have been swept away by the man’s long cape that Ciri had noted immediately.

They had just … vanished. Like a ghost or a flume of smoke simply fading into the air around them. No trace they were really ever there.

Geralt stood to attention, ears pricked like a wild animal on the prowl for its prey as he took in every minute movement around him. His head snapped to a small movement in the tree above him, only to see a small crow hopping between the branches innocently. Sure, that very well could be them considering some mages were well known to shapeshift, but Geralt’s eyes flickered around the perimeter unconvinced.

For a moment, there was just silence. Ciri’s heart pounding in his ears from her spot, Roach’s much slower heartbeat overlapping it. He was sure even he was holding his breath as he searched for any sign of the assailant.

And yet nothing.

He had but a millisecond to react as he heard a faint twig snap above his head before it was too late. A body - the body he had been searching for in fact - landed on his shoulders with a diligence he had only seen in professional killers. The unexpected force of a figure damn near knocked him to the floor, though luckily he was more than built enough in his legs to handle the weight. He did, however, drop his sword in shock, and was left grappling with the perpetrator with his bare hands.

The, who he now guessed was an assassin due to their expertise skill, wrapped his cloak hood over his face, effectively blinding him and suffocating him at the same time. He reached out for any part of their body he could grab hold of, satisfied when he felt the culprits waist, grabbing it with both hands and heaving them forward with a heavy buck towards the forest floor.

The assassin was flung to the floor, though they had the good sense to grab his cape in just the right place from around his neck to take him tumbling to the ground too. The figure kicked out a heavy boot into his stomach as he careered almost on top of them, and even his quick reflexes felt numbed as they skillfully pinned him to the ground. He felt a set of thighs wrap around his neck, arm yanked upwards towards a surprisingly well endowed chest, before they began to squeeze like a muscled constrictor around his neck.

Geralt groaned in effort as his throat began to pay the price for his opponent's quick work. Luckily, his eyes caught sight of a small blade in the side of the assassin’s boot, and he was smart to yank it out of its holder before his airways could be shut off. He plunged it into the figure's thigh, making them grunt shortly and loosen their grip on his neck. Just as he'd wanted, he grabbed the figure by the scruff of their own cape and threw them to the ground next to him.

The pair of them stood, Geralt only equipped with the assailant's own blade, as he watched the figure in question pull another two long knives out of their waist scabbards. He debated drawing one from his own boot that he knew lay hidden, but their smaller, more nimble stature told him his odds were against him at a knife fight. He was good with a sword, gods know he was good with a sword, but this assassin clearly operated with small, fast movements, something his brawny build worked against.

Instead, Geralt chose a smarter route. He moved his hands into the symbol of axii, pushing his hands forward to thrust the wind in their direction to knock them hard away from Ciri.

The white haired man felt his mouth drop open when the galeforce current he sent towards them was deflected by a cross of their wrists, as if they had bounced the wind off their being with the action.

Instead, the spell he had conjured was sent straight back at him, launching him backwards, further into the forest. His body dragged along the floor with the weight of the spell, ironically knocking the air out of his lungs in both force and shock at the action he had just witnessed.

What in the continent was that?

He barely registered the fact the movement had thrown him past Roach and Ciri, his mind racing to catch up with what had just happened, but he didn’t miss the young girl’s worried eyes following his falling figure, nor did he fail to see the way the assassin ran at him with their blades drawn.

Geralt barely had time to sit up to defend himself before the dark hooded figure had jumped at him, their weapon pressed against his throat oddly delicately. He could barely make out who was beneath the hood from the black sheath they wore over their mouth and nose, and the clothing was draped too far down to see any eyes. The figure looked like what he imagined the grim reaper to be, the omen from the stories he and his brothers used to tell each other before bed back when they were just young ones. The other hand brought the twin blade careering down towards his head, and Geralt prepared himself to take the stab to the hand when Ciri spoke up.

“NO! STOP!” The young cub yelled, revealing herself even though it had been clear from their new position that they were not at all alone.

Geralt watched the figure freeze for a moment. It seemed a shred of humanity gleamed through the assassin’s behaviour as they heard a mere child beg for mercy. Their head snapped towards where Cirilla stood, false bravery on her expression as she watched the figure look straight at her, their attention diverted away from the white wolf.

“Ciri?” The assassin said, though the voice was muffled from the mask and much higher pitched than Geralt had imagined.

It was then that the small frame, the voice, the quiet, nimble movement they held, it all wove together in Geralt’s mind.

It dawned on him that this assassin was in fact a woman.

A woman who had stupidly taken her eyes off him.

He knocked her clean off her feet as she stared at the princess for much longer than he felt comfortable with, her smaller body rolling clear out of the way of Ciri and Roach, dropping one of her knives in the process.

You groaned as you felt the effect of his hard punch land hard where your nose was, rattling your brain inside your head. It couldn’t be, surely you were seeing things. That couldn’t be the princess.

As your thoughts raced, you were unceremoniously picked up by the scruff of your neck like a pup in a litter. Your most obviously concealed weapons thrown to the ground next to you as the Goliath of a man handled you with revenge in his piercing golden eyes.

He ripped your hood down revealing your neatly braided hair and partially covered face, though you simply looked over his shoulder at the girl who had shouted for mercy.

You had to know if it was her. What on earth was she doing so far from Cintra? She had grown so much since you'd last seen her. Why was she with your target? Your heart plummeted as you feared the worse for your sweet girl: Had she been kidnapped by this man?

“Eyes on me,” He growled at you, watching as your gaze had ignored him and gone straight to his child surprise. “Now, who sent you?

Your head snapped back to him at the hostile mutter of his question, “Who sent me?" You snarled, "I should be asking you the same thing,”

Geralt huffed, bringing one of his large hands up to your throat as you kicked viciously against his brutish strength. “If you want to talk in riddles, I have no use for you,”

You prepared yourself to start wrestling against his grip when a figure appeared over the shoulder of the man, exactly the one you could have sworn blind you'd heard. Your eyes widened at the girl you had left all those years ago.

“Y/N?” Ciri asked cautiously, as if the mask that lay on your face deceived her. But the way you’d looked up at her had her curious, and she was so sure when she’d gotten a closer look at your cape and facial features, the years came back to her in waves of nostalgia.

Geralt’s head turned to the young cub who approached carefully, her grey fur coat dragging behind her slowly. He felt his hands loosen from around your throat as he saw the saddened glint in Ciri’s eyes, and something tinged with recognition as she said your name again. He put you down the minute he saw her reaching for you longingly, and the second your feet met the floor she had rushed forward to take you in by the waist, burying her head into the crook of your hood as if she was greeting a family member.

You hugged her back just as tenderly, pulling your black mask down to reveal quite a beautiful face indeed, bar the bruise that was quickly forming on your nose thanks to Geralt’s heavy hands. “Sweet girl, what on earth are you doing here?” You asked in a voice so soft he couldn’t believe you had been grappling to kill each other not five minutes earlier.

Geralt’s head swam with lost thoughts. How on earth had you escaped and left no tracks in the first place? How had you deflected his axii like that, he was so sure that was impossible, and more importantly, why was his child surprise holding onto you as if her life depended on it?

Nothing about you made sense, not one single piece of information and so Geralt, in his whirring mind had nothing else to say to you except: “Who the fuck are you?”

More Than A Service || Mechanic!Stucky

It was the weekend and you were ready to unwind. Being single, depressingly so, you decided to head out to the many clubs on and around Atlantic Ave with the hope of finding at least one cute guy. Even just exchanging numbers would ease some of the need you had to socialise with the opposite sex, so that was your goal.

The first club you got to wasn’t quite to your taste, the music not a genre you would usually listen to. But, it was happy hour so you stayed for the cheap drinks and felt yourself begin to relax. You had just returned from the ladies room and found a handsome man occupying the stool beside the one you had claimed as your own and he smiled when you sat down beside him.

“Having a good night?” He asked with a polite smile on his face, a dark blond beard shaping his face perfectly. The bartender had your refill ready and placed it down in front of you as the man pulled out his wallet. “I’ll have another and I’ll get this gorgeous lady’s drink as well.”

“You don’t have to do that.” You said as he waved it off.

You didn’t want to give him the idea that you could be bought into a night between the sheets as so many men had assumed would be the case when they paid for your drinks. On the other hand, the man looked built for some damn good sex and you couldn’t deny the sweet reminder between your legs as you shifted on your perch.

“I want to.” He said as he swivelled around to face you. “I will admit, I do have an ulterior motive.”

“Of course you do.” You sighed under your breath.

“See, my friends were meant to meet me here but they’re running late and it would really ruin my image if I’m sat alone at the bar.” His serious image cracked into a smile that had you laughing before he held his hand out. “I’m Steve.”

“Y/n.”

His hands were, for lack of a better word, manly. They were large and engulfed yours, his palms calloused from years of manual labour with them and you watched his biceps flex beneath his tight shirt. If you would hazard a guess you assumed he was a builder given his strength and you were once again reminded of the deep ache in your core at the thought of him wielding a hammer.

“I haven’t seen you around before. You live near here?”

“Yeah, but I don’t get out much.” You said as he sipped from his bottle of beer. “My mom said I need to get out more or resign myself to adopting 40 cats.”

His beer threatened to come out his nose as he choked and spluttered on the laugh lodged in his throat. You felt terrible as you leapt forward and clapped him on the back a few times while he recovered.

“I’m sorry.” You apologised as he grabbed a napkin and dabbed his lips with a shake of his head.

“Don’t be.” He reassured you with a hand on yours. “I like the honesty. It’s refreshing.”

His eyes turned sad for a moment before whatever ghost had haunted him left and he realised he was still holding your hand. You didn’t mind at all as his cold hand warmed against your skin but he pulled away to wave at a couple of guys walking in.

“Did you want to come join us?” Steve asked as they approached the bar but you shook your head with a small smile.

“I’m going to head off but you have a good night.” You felt safe with Steve but you didn’t want to put yourself into a predicament by drinking with three very strong strangers. “But, um, if you wanted to grab another drink sometime when you don’t have other plans, I would be up for that.”

Steve’s eyes lit up as he nodded eagerly and grabbed another napkin. He wrote his number down quickly and placed the paper securely in your hand, closing your fist around it.

“I’m definitely up for that.” He promised. “And let me know that you got home safe, pretty woman like yourself shouldn’t be walking around alone. Actually, do you want me to walk you to a taxi?”

You smiled as he worried over you and placed a calming hand to his bulging bicep. “I’m fine, Steve. Relax with your friends and I promise I’ll text you when I get home.”

“Alright then, y/n. Have a good night.” He nodded, watching you retreat from the bar until his friends blocked your view.

The second you were out of sight you added his number to your phone in case you lost the napkin and smiled the entire way down the street. You were practically walking on sunshine when some pop music caught your fancy as you passed an open bar and you figured one more drink would go down well before you called it a night.

The bar was crowded with more people than you expected waiting to order and you were undecided on whether to stay and wait it out or just leave. The decision was made for you when the line almost biblically parted and you saw an empty stool illuminated by the laser lights. Sneaking through the space, you took a seat while waiting for the bartender to make his way down the line.

“You might be waiting a while, doll. Service is pretty slack.” You looked over to the figure sitting beside you and found a handsome man smiling coyly at you as he ran a thick, ringed finger around the rim of his empty tumbler. “I was about to leave but I think I might just stick around now. I’m Bucky.”

For the second time tonight you found yourself bathing in the attention of a handsome man. His hand was cold from the icy glass he had been holding and he had held on just a little too long for it to be just a friendly handshake. “You got a name, or should I just keep calling you doll?”

“It’s y/n.” You said as the butterflies in your tummy took flight all over again. “But I could get used to doll too.”

“Good, because it suits you.” He winked before nodding your head to the bartender who had stopped in front of you. “You must be a good luck charm, they haven’t come down this end of the bar for the last 15 minutes.”

“I’m about 15 years overdue for some good luck, it’s about time things turned around.” You admitted with a laugh before ordering your drink and Bucky’s too so he didn’t have to wait. He was quicker than you to drop the money on the bar and he smirked as it was taken by the bartender before you could protest, the note large enough to buy four more of the cocktails.

“Keep the change man.” Bucky said to the bartender, a grateful smile thrown his way before the man rushed back to the next patron.

“That was very generous of you.” You smiled, remembering the days you had worked in hospitality.

“I appreciate an honest day's work.” He shrugged nonchalantly. “You couldn’t pay me enough to do what they do.”

You followed his glare to a group of young men, who looked barely legal, surrounding a hostess that was trying to work but they kept blocking her way. You sighed feeling sorry for the woman, she clearly wasn’t interested in them but it didn’t seem to be stopping them from trying.

“Why isn’t anybody doing anything?” You frowned as you looked for the bouncer before Bucky jumped off his stool.

You couldn’t tell how tall he was when he was sitting but he was half a head above most of the patrons as he sauntered towards the group of offenders. You grabbed your drinks, not wanting them to be spiked if you left them but also not wanting Bucky to get in trouble alone. You struggled to keep up with his long strides but focused on his broad back straining against the fitted shirt he wore before shamelessly trailing down to his tight jeans.

“Hey, leave her alone, she’s just trying to do her job.” Bucky growled as he pushed his way between two of them and put himself between her and the men. “I think you should find some other place to party tonight.”

You sagged with relief when you spotted two bouncers making their way into the tense situation but the relief was short lived as they pointed to everyone in the vicinity and ordered them out, including Bucky.

“He was just trying to help her.” You said as you stepped into the conversation and pointed at Bucky. “Since you guys didn’t seem to be doing anything.”

The bouncer towering over you cocked an eyebrow at the taunt before waving a hand at everyone, including you this time, and jabbed his thumb to the door. “Out. Now.”

An arm curled around your waist and Bucky’s drink was taken from your fingers and you found him finishing it before placing the empty glass on the hostess’s tray. “Sorry, doll, I didn’t mean to ruin your night.”

“Are you kidding me?” You laughed, following his actions and finishing your cocktail. “It’s nice to know there’s still decent guys out there.”

“I’m heading down the road to meet up with some friends, did you want to join me?”

You chewed your lip as you wanted to say yes but your feet were killing you and the buzz you had earlier had disappeared with the thought of the fight. “Can I take a raincheck? I was actually heading home when I walked past this bar.”

“Well, I’m glad you did.” He said as he stopped outside under the awning of the bar. “How about lunch this week? It might be less dramatic.”

“Less drama sounds good to me.” You chuckled and accepted his phone that he held out, adding your number to his contacts and sending yourself a message. “Let me know what day works for you.”

He grinned as he took the device and felt it buzz with a notification. “I’d make any day work for you, doll. I, um, have to go before these guys send a search party for me. I’ll see you next week.”

“It’s a date.”

His smile grew even wider as he walked away, a little bounce in his step as he replied to Steve that he was on his way.

“I don’t know what to do.” You complained to your mom as she sipped her coffee and pondered what advice she could offer.

“Sorry, sweetpea, I really don’t know what to say other than to trust your gut.”

“But they are both so amazing, and funny, and nice.” You huffed in frustration. “I really like both of them. Steve is honestly the most caring and considerate guy. And Bucky, he’s selfless and sweet. And they are both drop dead gorgeous and mechanics too, so you know they are good with their hands.”

“You’ve got yourself in a little pickle then don’t you sweetheart.” You mom said as she patted your hand gently. “But you can’t keep stringing them both along, that’s not fair on anyone. You’ll have to choose soon, before it gets too serious.”

“Ughhh, this isn’t helping mom. I have so much on my plate right now. Tomorrow I have breakfast with Steve then dinner with Bucky, then I have this project due and on top of that the light in my car still hasn’t gone away.”

“Honey, it needs a service, you can’t just drive around with the engine check light on for months.” Your mother tutted. “There’s a place on 3rd Ave near South Slope, the girls I play bridge with rave about it. Brooklyn something, Boys? I don’t know, use that interweb thing to search for it.”

You nodded along, half checked out of the conversation as your mind wandered back to your dating predicament. You knew everything your mom had said made sense but the thought of having to choose one over the other left you feeling sick to your stomach.

“One less thing to worry about.”

You looked up from the cold coffee you had been staring out of focus at, a stain ringing around the mug. “What’s that?”

“Talking to myself again.” She sighed as she showed you her phone. “I found them, The Brooklyn Boys, and booked you in. It’s amazing all the things you can do on the line.”

“Online.” You muttered as you took her phone and sent yourself the booking details so you could drop it off. “Thanks mom.”

“That’s what I’m here for. Glorified receptionist.” She teased. “One step up from being your maid when you lived at home. I should get going if I want to make it home before dark, my eyesight isn’t quite what it used to be.”

“Let me walk you out, I could do with some fresh air to clear my head.” You said as you placed the mugs in the sink and grabbed a jacket.

“Let me know which one you choose, oh and send me photos.”

The ache in your stomach came back at the reminder and you nodded sullenly as you followed her out of your apartment.

Your breakfast and dinner dates went so well that you were even more confused and hurt at the thought of having to choose one. You had resorted to leaving their messages on read as they tried to organise another date and that left you feeling even worse because you missed talking with them. You could still feel the tingle of their kiss lingering on your lips and it felt natural to want to take things further, to establish a relationship and see where it led. But you selfishly wanted a relationship with both men.

You were so deep in your thoughts you almost missed the sign for the automotive shop but pulled into the last parking spot on the lot.

“How’d your dinner go?” Steve asked as he wiped his hands on a rag and turned to see Bucky’s feet poking out from under a Civic.

“I thought it went well but I think she’s ghosting me.” Bucky sighed as he rolled out and dropped his wrench into a toolbox with a little more force than necessary. “I don’t know what I did wrong.”

Steve chuffed and wrapped the rag tightly around his fist. “We can’t seem to catch a break can we?”

“You too, shit.” Bucky shook his head. “I’m sorry man.”

“Me too.” Steve muttered, hearing the buzz of a customer entering the workshop. “Plenty more fish in the sea, right?”

“Yeah, I guess.” Bucky was unconvinced but shrugged it off as he followed Steve to the counter so he could call the car's owner and give them the bad news. “I just thought we really had a connection.”

You looked up from your phone after getting the booking number and almost dropped the device as you came face to face with Steve and Bucky, both looking as stunned as you. Your lips parted like a guppy gasping for air which suddenly seemed too thick to inhale as your worst nightmare came to life.

“Hey doll.” Bucky recovered first and smiled as he stepped closer. “You had me worried when you didn’t call me back.”

“Doll?” Steve laughed nervously. “She’s your doll?”

“Steve…” You choked as you looked between them.

“Wait, you know Steve?” Bucky frowned and looked at his best friend looking at you. “This is the girl from the bar?”

“Oh sweet jesus, I should have adopted a fucking cat.” You groaned as you backed up to the door.

Steve shook his head with a relieved laugh that froze you before you could push the door open. “We should talk in our office.”

Your eyes flickered between the two of them, half expecting the testosterone to turn explosive. “You’re not…angry?”

“What?” Bucky’s frown deepened into a scowl. “Why would we be angry?”

“Because you and I.” You waved your arms around the triangle. “And me and him.”

“Sweetheart, relax.” Steve soothed, nodding to the door that said OFFICE. “I can’t speak for Bucky but I’m just relieved you're okay. When you stopped replying, I…I’m just glad you’re okay.”

Bucky placed his hand on your lower back and urged you to follow Steve as he unlocked the office door. Twin desks faced opposite walls and a couch sat against the back wall, the whole room looking really tidy considering it was two mechanics who used it.

“Have a seat, doll.”

You sat nervously on the middle seat, feeling their heat radiating from them as they sat down beside you. The bulk of their bodies should have overwhelmed you, made you feel small, but instead you felt comfortable. It was the same comfort that you had when you were with them individually.

Bucky sat back and draped his arm across your shoulder like did when he walked with you through the park after your first date. You looked at Steve from under your lashes and found no jealousy or restraint anger as he reached for your hand and laced his fingers with yours. After a few deep breaths, you finally regulated your breathing and asked the question burning in your brain.

“What is going on?”

“Showing you that it’s okay.” Bucky said casually as if he were commenting on the weather.

“I’m so confused.” You mumbled under your breath. “I just needed a service.”

“You got more than that.” Steve chuckled with a reassuring squeeze of his hand. “Now feel free to stop me at any point but I think it’s fair to assume you like the both of us.”

You nodded as you closed your eyes, feeling the pressure of societal norms weighing on your shoulders.

“And from what Bucky’s said, and what I know, I can tell you the feeling is mutual.” Steve affirmed.

“We aren’t asking you to choose, if that’s something that’s worrying you.” Bucky added. “Steve’s my best friend, he’s a great guy so I get why you went out with him.”

“And Bucky is the most supportive partner you could ever have.” Steve smiled proudly over your shoulder. “So the question is, what do you want to do now?”

Your head was spinning at the onslaught of information that your brain couldn’t seem to comprehend. On one hand you really hoped you were understanding what was going on but you didn’t want to risk making another mistake with the two of them. Sitting up straighter you cleared your throat and bit your lip as you worked up your courage. “What exactly are you saying?”

Bucky took your other hand and leant in so he could give you the kiss he had been dying to since he saw you in the shop. You melted as his tongue rolled across your lip begging entrance that you indulged in before he pulled away breathless. “Don’t choose between us.”

Steve cradled your cheek in his hand and turned you to face him. His kind eyes sent your heart racing as they broke away from your gaze to look at your swollen lips before he couldn’t resist having his own taste of them. Their hands on your body, the taste of their kids, it was too much and your brain could barely function when he pulled away. “Choose both of us.”

Your head was nodding with all your thoughts of consideration and deliberation gone with the wind. It felt right, feeling their hands in yours, their heated stares setting your blood on fire. Even if you had time to think you knew you still wouldn’t be able to choose because they were both what you needed, two sides of the same coin that you could never flip.

“I want you both.” You admitted as you shifted in your seat. “But I don’t want this to affect your friendship.”

“It won’t.” Bucky assured you as he looked at Steve. “Promise.”

Steve nodded and slapped Bucky affectionately on his shoulder. “Promise.”

“Oh god.” You gasped as you clamped a hand over your mouth. “How am I going to explain this to my mom?”

I Have A Request If Youre Feeling Up To It!! I Love Your Writing And Really Appreciate Your Hard Work.

“Lily, time to go.”

You waited at the front door as you slipped your shoes on and checked you had everything in your bag for your shift at the hospital. You checked the clock hanging from your chest pocket and saw the seconds counting down the grey zone of cutting it close to just plain late.

“Lily, we are going to be late.”

The hurried stomps of your half sister's feet bounded down the stairs and you looked at the six year old with narrow eyes. “Brushed your teeth?”

She nodded and you curled your finger to call her closer. “Say ahh.”

She exhaled and you screwed your face up at her morning breath before she laughed and ran back up the stairs to brush her teeth.

“Scrub them for two minutes, little gremlin!” You reminded her as you watched your clock and listened to the water in the sink to shut off.

This time she bounded down the stairs and swiped her backpack from your hands as she stepped out the door. She stopped as she reached the gate to see you locking the door and she had the cheek to tut at you with her hand on her hip. “Come in, y/n, you’re gonna make me late.”

You chased her out the gate and kicked away the stone that held it open before dodging the other people making their way to the busy bus stop at 7.30am on a Monday morning. You could see the bus already at the stop just past Lily’s school gates but you were still too far away and you knew you wouldn’t make it in time. The engine roared and smoke chugged from the exhaust as it blew past you and you dropped your head back as you cursed whoever had given you all the bad luck in the world.

You huffed with gritted teeth and looked back down from the sky and stepped right into the back of a man. You groaned as you dropped your bag and quickly knelt down to grab it as he did too, knocking your heads together before you fell back on your ass. “Fudgery duck!”

“Shit, sorry. Sorry, sorry.” He rushed as he grimaced at your sorry sight, your hand rubbing your forehead furiously as Lily laughed from the sidelines. “Did you say something?”

“She said fudgery duck, she says it when she really wants to say fuck but I’m around.”

“Thanks, Lily. Aren’t you late for school?” You groaned as you pulled yourself off the cold concrete, the man offering his gloved hand. “I think I’m okay, thank you, one concussion a day is my limit.”

Lily was waving back at you as she skipped inside the school gates and you took your time righting your scrubs and wiping the small stones from your butt. You plastered a smile on your face as you waved but the second she was out of sight it fell as you thought of how expensive a taxi to work would be. Things had been tight before you had a child in your care but now you were hanging on by a thread, every cent you made went on the bills and Lily.

“Are you alright?” The man asked as he thought you were about to cry. “Should I call an ambulance?”

“No!” You rushed, the mere thought of it almost bankrupting you. “I mean, no thanks, I’m fine. Sorry, I should have been watching where I was walking.”

He shrugged off your apology and the movement pulled his sleeve up past the end of his gloves, a glint of metal peeking out.

“You’re the Avenger, Bucky, right?” You asked as you began to remember why he looked familiar. “May I?”

He looked dubious but he held his hand out and you couldn’t resist getting a closer look. The metal wasn’t cold as you had expected but it wasn’t warm to touch either and you brushed his jacket sleeve up higher so you could see how the plates moved when you bent his fingers.

“Wow, this is amazing.” You shook your head in wonderment before thinking you had probably made him uncomfortable as he stared at you. “Sorry…”

He seemed to realise he was staring and looked away with his own apology. “Most people seem pretty freaked out by it, except this kid from Queens.”

“I see a lot of vets with limbs amputated at the VHA where I work, I wish we had this sort of technology.” You sighed and dropped his hand. “And I am late. It was nice meeting you.”

The crowds were thinning as the school bell rang and more buses arrived but none of them would be heading where you needed to go.

“Do you need a ride?” Bucky offered as he watched that forlorn look pass over your face again. “It's the least I can do for headbutting you.”

You normally wouldn’t accept a ride from a stranger but he was an avenger, that meant he had to be good surely, and you had been late so often you were on your last warning. With a small grateful nod he pointed to a parking lot across the street and you walked quietly alongside him.

“Thank you for doing this, you probably have way more important things to do than be my taxi.”

“Not really.” He shrugged. “This is much better than going to see my therapist. I mean…that sounds bad…I’m not crazy, just so you know, it’s just something we have to do for work.”

“Relax, I’m not judging.” You chuckled as he fidgeted with his car keys. “I’m sure saving the world is pretty traumatic, I think I would be more worried if you didn’t need therapy.”

He was transported back to his younger days when he saw the men return from World War I and wondered how different their lives would have been had they had therapy back in those days, they didn’t even have it for the soldiers who survived World War II.

“You’re probably right.” He muttered as he unlocked his car. “Where to?”

“James J. Peters.” You said as you took a seat in the extremely clean car. “Just head straight up Grand Concourse.”

“You were going to take the bus all the way across New York?” He frowned.

You shrugged as you turned your attention out the window and mumbled under your breath. “Beggars can’t be choosers.”

I Have A Request If Youre Feeling Up To It!! I Love Your Writing And Really Appreciate Your Hard Work.

One word. Five letters. That was all it took to send your heart racing into despair and you could feel the panic rising as you pushed the doors open and ran back into the parking lot you had just left. Your beg slipped from your arm as you sat heavily on the curb wondering what you had done so wrong in a past life to repeatedly have shit dumped on you.

Fired. Fired. Fired.

You heard a car door close in the parking lot but you didn’t even have the strength to find somewhere private to cry as you didn’t know how you were going to put food on the table next week. You had taken Lily in because there was no one else, if you couldn’t feed her she would have to go into the foster system and that thought sent a loud sob escaping your chest. She was family and she got on your nerves most days but she was your little gremlin and you didn’t want to lose her.

“Come on, let’s get you out of here.”

You heard Bucky’s soft voice and let pull you up off the curb as you leant into his side and cried. “I don’t know what to do.”

“We will start with not sitting on the sidewalk for a third time.” He tried to make you smile as he opened the car door and put you on the passenger seat. “What happened?”

“I was late again.” You sighed as you hiccupped. “They f-fired me.”

He reached across you as he opened the centre console then the glove compartment. “There’s gotta be tissues somewhere…”

“Shouldn’t you know? Isn’t this your car?”

“It’s one of the communal ones from work.” He answered as he looked in the back and found a napkin someone had missed when it was cleaned. “I think this hasn’t been used.”

You snorted a laugh that turned to a cry as you accepted the white napkin that looked clean and blew your nose. “I can’t take it anymore. One fucking thing after another. I just can’t.”

Your rambling turned to panic as your mind returned to Lily and you could practically see the CPS agents knocking on your door to take her away. Your vision narrowed as you imagined them having to carry her out because your little gremlin had fight in her and if she didn’t want to go she would do everything she could to stay.

“Y/n, look at me.” Bucky called out and snapped his fingers in front of your face.

Your head turned but it felt like you were sitting at the back of a subway and watching the front of the train bend around the corner, it was a complete disconnection from what was in front of you.

“How old is Lily?”

You frowned as you watched his lips move, the sound reaching your ears moments later. “Six.”

“When’s her birthday?”

“May 29th.” You answered quicker this time as your brain caught up. “Why are you so nosy?”

His lips twitched as he sighed with relief. “You were having a panic attack. Guess therapy taught me something after all.”

You were surprised you had gone so long without a panic attack already, you knew it had been bound to happen and you were thankful that Bucky was able to spot it. You could feel he was surprised when you hugged him but after a moment he put his arm loosely around you too.

“Do you want me to give you a ride home or I was going to run some errands…we could keep each other company?” He offered as you let him free of the hug.

The thought of sitting alone at home with your thoughts sounded like a recipe for disaster but since you no longer had income you didn’t want to have to pay for a babysitter if you didn’t have to. “Lily finishes at 3, do you think we will be back by then?”

He looked at his watch and nodded before walking around the car and heading back to the east side of the city. Over the next four hours Bucky worked hard to keep you distracted and even bought you lunch, despite your best attempts to pay for your own food. Unfortunately it was time to face reality as he made the journey back to your neighbourhood and you sighed heavily at the weight that burdened your shoulders.

“Look, a smart woman like you is going to snap up a job no problem.” Bucky tried to reassure you as he came to a stop outside your house. “There must be plenty of places that need a nurse.”

“Yeah but they all have night shifts. I can’t leave Lily alone and I sure as hell can’t afford a night sitter.” You could feel yourself getting worked up about it all over again until Bucky’s gloved hand came to rest on yours with a squeeze.

“We’ll figure something out, alright.”

You didn’t want to sound ungrateful so you kept your mouth shut and just nodded, but you had no idea how he could help you, he barely knew you. “Do you want to come in for a coffee?”

He looked at the time and saw there was still half an hour before you had to pick up Lily so he turned the engine off and you unlocked the gate. He frowned as he passed the car sitting on cinder blocks in your driveway, the wheels missing.

“They couldn’t have just stolen the whole car.” You commented as you found your house key. “At least then the insurance would’ve paid out.”

You were already in the kitchen by the time Bucky entered the house and you called out to him so he knew where to find you.

“I just wanted to apologise for taking up your whole day.” You said as you leant against the countertop. “I’ve probably put you off helping someone ever again.”

His smile was genuine as he shook his head. “It’s about the most normal day I have had in years.”

“You and I have very different ideas on what a normal day is.” You laughed. “Bingeing terrible tv, blasting music and cleaning the house, that's normal.”

His nose wrinkled your idea of a normal day and you grabbed the remote for the stereo, hitting play on the last CD that was still in it. It was one your mom’s from the 80’s and you laughed at the unimpressed face Bucky had for the techno tune.

“Note to self - he doesn’t like the 80’s.” You teased as you hit stop and poured the coffee that was ready. “I’ll sell you on them, just give me some time.”

I Have A Request If Youre Feeling Up To It!! I Love Your Writing And Really Appreciate Your Hard Work.

You were just walking home after taking Lily to school when you noticed a large truck pulling in front of your drive. You were about to tell them to move when the door opened and Bucky jumped out of the driver's seat.

“Uh, what’s going on?” You frowned as he waved you over and opened the back door. “What are you doing?”

“About the only thing he is good at.” A man said behind you and you spun around to see Captain America smirking. “Heavy lifting.”

“Sam, this is y/n, y/n this is Sam.” Bucky introduced as he pulled a pallet of tyres and rims out of the back of the truck.

“It’s nice to meet you.” Sam grinned as he held out his hand. “He hasn’t shut up since he came home last night.”

Your ears burned at his words but you couldn’t dwell on it too long before a quiet woman joined you, her eyes darting around everyone like they were assessing you before she smiled.

“You must be y/n, I’m Wanda.”

Her hand was warm as you shook hers and it reminded you of holding your mom’s hand as you crossed the street as a child. Shaking the odd feeling off, you looked down at your yoga pants and baggy shirt, thankful you had even changed out of your pyjamas before leaving the house. “I, um, wasn’t expecting anyone.”

“Don’t worry about it, why don’t we go inside and relax while the boys get your car fixed,” she suggested and you found your feet leading the way, “have a little girl talk.”

“Is that your power? Making me feel comfortable?” You asked as you sat beside her on the couch.

“Gosh, no.” She laughed and held her hand up so you could see it glow with a red mist. “This happens when I use my power.”

“It’s pretty.”

“It’s also deadly.” She sighed and dropped her hand.

Your eyes drifted out to the window where Bucky was lifting your car off the blocks and Sam was putting the wheels on, your voice a wistful whisper. “The two often go hand in hand.”

“So, you and Bucky?”

You put your herbal tea down on the coffee table with a scoff. “Not very smooth, Wanda. I only met him yesterday and we literally butted heads.”

“Well you must have knocked some sense into him, I don’t think I’ve seen him smile so much.”

A proud smile graced your lips at the thought of him smiling, he had been so kind to you yesterday in a way no one else had. Suddenly a cry of pain rang out and you leapt from the couch to run outside and saw Sam clutching his hand, blood running down his forearm.

“Bucky, can you go to the kitchen and get the first aid kit from under the sink?” You asked and he took off, jumping clear over the steps instead of climbing them while you helped keep pressure on the gash across his arm and led him inside.

“Damn tyre iron slipped.” He groaned as he sucked the air through his teeth.

“Please don’t sue me.” You half joked, but he had been injured on your property.

“Ha!” He laughed, making you relax. “Maybe I should sue Cyborg for being a pain in my ass.”

“Who's holding the first aid kit huh, punk?” Bucky asked as he stood in the doorway, holding it just out of reach.

“Are they always like this?” You asked Wanda as they bickered like siblings.

“Always.” She laughed before looking at Bucky. “He’s going to bleed on her couch if you don’t hand it over.”

He quickly crossed the room and placed the bag on the coffee table where you opened it and pulled on a pair of gloves first. You pulled Sam’s hand away and saw it was still bleeding but replaced his hand with a quikclot bandage.

“You’re going to need a few stitches.” You grimaced. “How’s your pain tolerance?”

“Does Bucky sized count?” He shot back with a wry smile.

“I can stitch it here or there’s an emergency room a few blocks away.” You said before the two men could start another argument.

“Here’s fine. I’ll be fine.” He said as he gritted his teeth.

“All done.” You promised as you tied off the last stitch and covered the wound up.

“Took it like a champ.” Bucky chuckled.

Sam cleared his throat and wiped his eyes with the collar of his shirt. “I just got some dust in my eye man.”

You tidied up the mess of bloody gauze and other supplies you had used before packing away the first aid kit. “I think that’s enough surprises for one day.”

“I actually have one more.” Bucky said as he tipped his head towards the kitchen and you followed him through. “I had a talk with Mrs Stark and there’s a nurse's position available in the medic bay, she’ll want to see your qualifications but if you send her the details, the job is yours.”

“What?” You asked dumbly as your mouth fell open. “You did this?”

He suddenly looked unsure of himself and scratched at his neck. “No, I mean, yes. Should I not have?”

You were absolutely stunned by everything he had done for you. You threw your arms around his waist and felt tears of joy fill your eyes and thanked him over and over.

“I know it's a bit far to travel by bus so I thought it would be easier if we got your car running for you.”

“Wait, you didn’t hurt Sam as an audition of some sort?” You pulled back to look at his aghast face.

“I mean I sometimes imagine it but…”

“I heard that.” Sam laughed.

“Ok, good. Not that you imagine it obviously, you should probably mention that to your therapist.” You joked before sobering. “Thank you, Bucky, you have no idea what this means to me.”

“You can tell me about over lunch, at work, on Monday.”

I just saw while reading this again that I never rebloged it ! What a mistake this is a masterpiece!! Perfect as always

hiya love!!

a bucky x reader idea i think you’d pull off with your amazing writing 😘

i thought of it in 2 different au’s, one more regency type and one that’s mafia/mob (personally leaning more towards mafia). the reader is currently in an arranged marriage with a husband who has gambled all their money away and now is in debt with the wrong people (aka buck).

the twist in this is that bucky and the winter solider are a split personality and often switch between the two. winter deals with the more gory and dirty work of leading the mafia and bucky deals with the parts such as mingling, the business deals, etc. winter is willing to forgive the husbands debt in exchange for the reader. reader pretty much hates her husband and while she’s scared to meet the head of the mafia and essentially become his property, she slowly learns about bucky and winter and grows to love them both and gets treated as the queen she deserves.

Thank you nonnie! This is such a cool idea and was so fun to write ❤️ I hope you enjoy it!

Hiya Love!!

You stared blankly at the cashier wondering if this was some sort of sick joke. “Try it again, something is obviously wrong with your system.”

“I’m sorry ma’am, your card has been declined.” She said as she handed the card back. “Insufficient funds.”

You could feel the judgement radiating off the people in the line behind you and your face flushed with embarrassment, this had never happened before. Swiping the card from her fingers you stormed out of the grocery store and already had your phone to your ear.

Your heart stilled as the bank manager repeated what the previous person had already told you, but you still couldn’t believe it. You wouldn’t normally be so rude but your life was crumbling apart and you just didn’t have the capacity to be polite at that moment. With shaking hands you hung up and pounded your fist into the steering wheel with a scream.

“Hey Siri, call Asshole.”

“Calling Asshole.”

You buckled your seatbelt across you as the dial tone filled the speakers in the car and you were merging with traffic as the call connected to your husbands phone.

“How the fuck could you go and do that!” You screamed as he answered.

“Look, it’s fine, I’m sorting it out.”

“It’s fine?” You laughed humorlessly. “I couldn’t buy our damn groceries! That’s not fine! If my parents knew-”

“You’re parents don’t give a fuck about you. Shit, they couldn’t get rid of you fast enough. Who do you think arranged this marriage?” He sneered. “Look, I’ve got to go, I’m a bit busy to deal with your shit too. Just don’t go home if you like living, not until I get this guy's money back.”

Your car slammed to a stop as four blacked out SUVs closed in around you and panic gripped your throat. Traffic honked their horns as the road was blocked but they soon fell silent as the doors opened and men piled out. The last one that stepped out held himself differently from the rest and he leisurely buttoned his suit jacket as if the city ran on his schedule.

“Who else’s money did you piss away?” You whispered only to find the call had been disconnected and you felt the blood draining from your face.

You couldn’t move as your car idled and the man stalked his way towards you, eyes hidden by the designer sunglasses he wore. He looked like he was better suited to walking a runway than the dirty streets of New York but there he was making his way closer to you, the flash of a gun peeking from his hip with every step until he came to a stop beside your door. His knuckles rapped on your window and you trembled as you wondered whether you could just not open the door, maybe you would wake up from this nightmare any second.

“This will go a lot smoother if you just open the door, doll.” He said as he pulled his sunglasses off and pierced you with his ice blue eyes.

Your fingers turned the key and the engine fell silent before you slipped them between your knuckles. You tried to gather every ounce of courage you had as you unlocked the door and he pulled it open, his other hand offered out to you. You brushed it aside and stepped out yourself, ignoring the smirk he held when he saw your keys like a spiked knuckle duster in your fist.

“You have more guts than that poor excuse of a man you married.” He said with a Brooklyn accent.

“A slug has more guts than him.” You fired back.

His laugh was echoed by his guards but he was the one that held you captive and his smile disarmed you. You hadn’t expected the infamous New York mob boss to be so charming, or young for that matter. Most you had seen in the news were old men, well past their prime.

His hand unfurled your fist and took your keys, tossing them to one of his men before his hand came to rest on your lower back, guiding you to his Lincoln. “Let’s go for a ride.”

“That’s not a question is it?”

His lips tipped up as he looked down at you and he shook his head. “No, you have no choice in what happens from here.”

The charm was gone in an instant and the chilling dread seeped back in your bones as he held his door open for you, hand urging you to move with the promise he had the strength to throw you inside if you didn’t move. Stepping up into the luxury SUV left his hand sliding down over your ass and you swore you heard him inhale sharply before his touch was gone.

“Where to, Mr Barnes?”

His eyes flicked to yours before he looked back to the rearview mirror his driver was facing and waiting for an answer. “Home.”

You watched the driver's eyebrows pinch together but he didn't say anything as he pulled away from the street, letting the traffic resume behind him.

“You should put your seatbelt on, doll.” Mr Barnes said as he looked over your body.

“At this point I don’t see what difference it makes.” You sighed, resigned to your fate. “I’m not stupid, I have heard the stories about you Mr Barnes. I figure I am dead either way.”

He sighed and reached over your body, his rich cologne filling your senses as he grabbed your belt and buckled it in. “You can call me Bucky.”

“I could call you a lot of things.” You whispered under your breath as you turned to watch the busy streets go by, slowly finding the city giving way to the more open landscape of Upstate New York. “You know, if you are planning on using me to get your money back it won’t work.”

“And why is that?” Bucky asked curiously, having watched you the entire length of the journey.

“He doesn’t care about me.” You broke away from where you had been watching his reflection in your window and looked him dead in the eye. “He is probably glad to see me gone.”

His eyes stared into yours, almost inhumanly still as they tried to draw the thoughts straight from your head. “You actually believe that.”

“Our parents arranged our marriage, it wasn’t something we, well I, had any choice in.” You turned back to the window, unable to hold his intense stare any longer and silence fell back over the car as you wondered where the Eastern European lilt suddenly came from.

The convoy of cars pulled up at an impressive set of gates and it was the only way you could see where you were heading as the rest was hidden by high brick walls that surrounded the property. The driveway seemed impossibly long as it snaked through a woodland that seemed straight out of A. A. Milne's stories and you found your breath misting up the window as you leant in to have a closer look.

You looked back at Bucky to see if he was as enamoured by the view as you were but he was busy typing away on his phone, probably desensitised to the sight since it was his home. You were caught watching him and the way he bit his lip as he concentrated on whatever message or email he was composing that you missed the first impression of seeing his home come into view.

“I thought you were enjoying the scenery.” He murmured without looking up from his phone and you startled as you spun your head to turn away only to find the car coming to a stop outside the grand home.

“Holy shit.” You whispered at the sight. “I imagined you would be taking me to a damp warehouse with chains hanging from the rafters.”

He barked a laugh as he pocketed his phone. “I can always arrange that for you, kukolka.”

You weren’t imagining the change in his accent this time and you were still left sitting in the car confused when he made it to your side and opened the door. “I have business to take care of. Get out.”

You hit the red button on the buckle and scrambled out of the car at the sharp tone, looking around the empty pathway and deciding whether you should make an attempt to run or not.

“The closest neighbour is 32 miles in that direction.” Bucky said as he pointed to the west. “The dogs would track you before you even got halfway there, that is if the guards on perimeter duty didn’t shoot you first.”

You swallowed at the thought and let the idea of running fall into the recesses of your mind. “Why did you bring me here?”

His eyes seemed to darken as he chewed that lip of his once again. “I don’t know.”

He turned on his heel and made his way up the stone steps, a snap of his fingers urging you to catch up and you eyed the rolling green pasture once more before following him. You nearly lost him as he turned down a hall but his voice called your name and you turned the corner to find him in a large open kitchen that was almost bigger than your house.

“Drink?” He asked as he opened a cabinet lined with spirits.

“Why not.” You shrugged and took a seat in front of him. “How much does he owe you?”

Bucky placed a cocktail in front of you, not even asking what you preferred but somehow getting it right. “10.”

“Thousand?”

“Million.”

You choked on your drink at the thought of trying to pay it back. “Why the hell would you loan someone $10 million!”

He shrugged. “Because I can.”

You emptied your drink in two gulps and slid the glass back to him, begging him to refill it as you dropped your head to the cool marble countertop. “What a business model.”

“It’s money laundering, doll, sometimes we lose.”

“Boohoo, you lost some money.” You mocked as the alcohol hit your empty stomach. “I’m the one probably going to lose my life because of it.”

“Not many people would dare mock me, kukolka.” He said as he rounded the island and spun your bar stool around to cage you between it and his body. “Are you fearless or stupid?”

“It would be stupid to be fearless.” His lips tipped up at your wise words and he decided you definitely were not stupid but you certainly were brave as you leant in closer so your lips were almost touching his skin. “You can launder money digitally without losing.”

“And how would you do that?”

“If I tell you, there’s no reason to keep me alive.” You said as you leant back and grabbed your drink, taking a sip as he tried to determine if you were lying or not.

“I can think of a few reasons to keep you alive, kukolka.”

The lick of his lips sent your heart racing and for the first time it wasn’t in fear. Your legs tried to close to give you some friction but you found Bucky had stepped between them and he smirked as he felt them twitch against his thighs.

“Bucky?” You asked breathlessly, placing your glass down with a trembling hand.

“Call me Winter.”

Your head tipped to the side as you saw the shade of blue darker than before. The frown lines disappeared as the colder personality came to the surface. It made sense now, Bucky was the charming businessman, Winter was anything but. Still, the passive face and the cold eyes set something alight within you and you couldn’t deny the fact it was something you had imagined you would have with your husband but it never came.

“Winter.” You tasted his name on your tongue, enjoying the way his eyes followed your lips as they moved.

The moment hung as he stared at your lips and you could hardly breathe as you waited for him to make his choice and much to your disappointment he stepped back, his eyes fading back to the paler blue.

“How many people know?” You asked as he ran a hand through his dark hair and refilled his glass.

“No one.” He growled, emptying the drink in one breath and throwing the glass to shatter against the wall. “Fuck!”

He grabbed your arm and you had to almost run to keep up with his pace as he climbed the staircase and led you down another hall. He reached into his pocket as he stopped outside a door and unlocked it, pushing it open and shoving you inside before closing it. The sound of the lock echoed around the huge silent room and you sighed as you leant back against the door, the small bump on the other side letting you know he was mirroring your pose.

“Your secret is safe with me, Bucky.” You said since you were sure he was listening. “I have no one to tell even if I wanted to anyway.”

His footsteps retreated down the hall and you were left to explore the room you had been confined to.

═══════☆═══════

The door creaked open and a slither of light illuminated your dark room before the door closed once again, his barely audible footsteps padding across the room to where you lay. You hadn’t been able to bring yourself to climb into the enormous bed for fear of it swallowing you whole and getting lost in the mountain of pillows, opting to curl up on the loveseat instead. It didn't matter, you couldn’t get to sleep anyway.

“You should be asleep, kukolka, it’s late.” Winter murmured as he snaked his arms under you and carried you to the bed.

“I’m in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by armed men that I don’t know or trust.” You replied with a stifled yawn. “I can’t sleep.”

“No one here will hurt you, I promise.” He said as he laid you down on the soft sheets and climbed in beside you. “I’ll make sure of that.”

“What about Bucky?” You asked quietly as you rolled on your side to face him.

“He doesn’t want you harmed.”

“That’s not the same thing.”

Winter had been coming to your room every night since you arrived here and sometimes he would even use your bathroom to wash away the blood that caught under his nails. You never asked him about it and he never offered but you knew he was who the stories were about, the mob boss who was ruthless and cutthroat, it was Winter. For some reason he never scared you as he sat quietly in the corner of your room, watching you sleep only to disappear before you woke. This was the first night he joined you in your bed.

“How long am I going to be kept here?” You asked as you watched his chest slowly rise and fall while he stared at the dark chandelier. “He’s never going to be able to pay back the $10 million he owes, if that’s what you are waiting for.”

“I know.” His hair fell over his face as he turned to face you and you brushed it back so you could see his eyes even in the low light, they somehow glowed.

“So what, I am just your prisoner here until you get bored of me.”

His eyes hardened and his hand reached out to cup your cheek, the slight pressure ensuring you couldn’t look away even if you wanted. “You think of this as your prison?”

You sighed and shook your head, in all honesty it was more like living at a luxury resort. You were catered for by an amazing chef, spent your days beside the pool with a book from the vast library and occasionally had a visit from Winter or Bucky. Everyone else left you alone, barely even making eye contact with you as they roamed the mansion with their rifles hanging from their shoulders. That was the only thing that left you ill at ease.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like that.” You said as your cheek warmed under his touch. “I just miss reality, I miss going out. Don’t get me wrong, the clothes you bought me are lovely but…”

You looked at the closet that was full of designer clothes that had arrived the day after you had, they were expensive and pretty but there was nothing comfortable. You thought you had offended Winter when he rose from your bed and left the room, his absence making it even darker than before, and you wanted to follow with an apology. With a heavy sigh you fell back into the pillows and threw one over your head.

It wasn’t until the pillow was ripped away that you found Winter standing over you with a pair of grey sweatpants and a plain white t-shirt in his hands. “I want you to be comfortable here.”

You sat up and took the clothes with a smile. “Thank you, Win.”

“Win?”

“You don’t like it? I figured you have your nickname for me, I should have one for you.”

“I’ve never had a nickname before.” He said as his head tilted slightly to the side, his tell when he was confused, much like Bucky’s frown lines.

“Well, now you do. Close your eyes.”

He didn’t follow your order but you weren’t surprised. There was no one that could give Winter or Bucky an order, they would only do something if they wanted to. Grabbing the silk hem of the Victoria’s Secret nightgown you had been given you pulled it over your head and replaced it with Winter’s shirt. The cotton was soft and it held a hint of his scent as well as the fresh linen scent the housekeepers used doing the laundry.

“Are you going to come back in?” You asked as he stayed frozen beside your bed, jaw ticking as he clenched it.

“Probably not a good idea.”

Your fingers played with the edge of the shirt that barely covered your thighs, the hint of your lace panties peeking out the bottom with every little movement as desire pooled in your core. “Please.”

The word had barely left your lips before he captured them with his own. You fell back into the pillows with a sigh as he pushed you back to graze his teeth down your neck.

“I can’t be gentle, kukolka, I just need to feel you.” Winter growled low in your ear.

“I don’t want you to be gentle.” You moaned as his fingers brushed your panties aside and slipped between your slick folds. “I want you to fuck me.”

You gasped as he ripped the material away and pushed a second finger in curling them up as he palmed over your clit, soft moans escaping your parted lips. Your hands worked through the first two buttons before your patience ran out and you tore his shirt open, the white buttons getting lost among the sheets. The soft moonlight gave you just enough light to see the defined muscles that shaped his body and you dragged your nails down the hard planes as he tensed beneath your touch.

“Sorry about your shirt.”

Your hand dipped beneath his pants and his breath hissed as your fingers wrapped around his hard length, a moan quickly following. “No you’re not.”

Your touch was failing as his fingers brought you closer to bliss and you instead tried to focus on freeing him from his pants, the expensive material finally falling away and he crawled onto the bed. His fingers never let up as he knelt between your legs, and he sat back on his heels as nudged your legs wider to watch his effect on you. His eyes were almost black as he watched his fingers disappearing into your core and you pushed your shirt up to your neck to massage your breasts, teasing him as you teased yourself.

“Fuck, kukolka, I have to take you.” He moaned as you pinched and rolled your nipples, his fingers disappearing a second before his head split your folds and buried himself inside you.

Your head tipped back with a cry at the sudden fullness and your fingers clawed at his chest for some purchase. His body echoed yours, head falling back and back arching so he pushed even deeper within you, stretching you with a delicious burn that left you wanting more. You barely had time to adjust to his size before he was slamming his hips against yours and pushing your knees to your chest.

“Yesyesyes.” You cried as your cunt clenched around him, teetering on the edge of bliss. “Oh god, please don’t stop, Win.”

“Fuck, you feel so good wrapped around me.” He groaned as you tightened under his touch, his thumb slipping between you to press against your bundle of nerves.

You were so far gone that his thumb pushed you over the edge, your head spinning as your body was thrown to the clouds to drift weightlessly as he rode through your orgasm. A growl of pure masculinity tore from his throat as your pussy gripped him and you felt the warmth of his cum fill you but still he didn’t stop. He let your knees fall away so he could get closer to you, pressing his chest to yours and tracing your jaw with his soft lips. Your fingers laced in his hair and your tongue danced with his as he slowed his furious pace to longer, slower strokes that almost left you empty before he filled you again.

When he pulled away his eyes were no longer dark and he pressed his forehead to yours as his hand pulled your leg higher up his. The new angle sent a fresh wave of heat in your belly and you moaned against his cheek as you rolled your hips up to his.

“Oh god, Bucky, I’m gonna cum again.” You panted as your eyes screwed shut at the mounting pleasure.

“Hmm, wanna feel you cum all over my cock, doll.”

His mouth ate the moans that attempted to fill the air and you could no longer tell where your body ended and his began. You were merely a single writhing entity working towards mutual bliss and when his mouth found the sweet spot along your neck the elastic band in your core snapped. Your legs trembled harder than the beat of your heart and your eyes rolled back in your head as your back arched off the bed with a cry.

“Fuck, that’s it, doll.” He praised as his elbows caged you between them and he looked down the length of your body, watched his cock being swallowed by your dripping cunt. “You take it all so well. Gonna fill you up real good.”

You could barely comprehend the meaning behind his words, just the way he spoke kept sending waves of aftershocks down your legs until his hips snapped forward and he stayed buried, shooting more hot ropes of cum inside you with a deeply satisfied moan. He collapsed against your chest, keeping most of his weight on his elbows so he didn’t hurt you but still laying close enough that you could feel each other's racing hearts.

“You look good in my clothes.” He murmured as he rolled to the side and pulled your shirt back down. “Might have to burn everything else.”

“You would too.” You chuckled and rolled into his open arms with a sigh. “Seems a waste to just have them hanging there but it’s not like I have anywhere to wear them.”

His eyes were blinking slowly as his fingers drew circles across your hip. “I wanna take you out. We could go somewhere nice, just the two of us, once I deal with your husband.”

The mention of that asshole had you rolling out of the bed and walking to the bathroom, you did not want to think of him after the best sex in years. You didn’t even wait for the water to heat fully before pulling his shirt over your head and stepping under the tepid spray. It didn’t take long for another body to join you and you looked over your shoulder to find which Barnes it was you were with.

“Winter wants you for himself, he’s ready to wipe the debt if your husband agrees to an annulment.” Bucky said as he wrapped his arms around your waist.

“And what about you?”

“There’s something about you, how you see us, it’s something we have never had before.” He murmured softly as he tipped your head to the side and kissed your neck. “No one dares talk to us like you do, doll, it’s infuriating, and hot as fuck. I want more. I want you too.”

You had resigned yourself to the fact you would spend your life trapped in a miserable marriage but here was this miracle offering you a way out. You could only imagine the dangers that came with getting in bed with a mob boss but it wasn’t too long ago that you had come face to face with the scariest man in New York and now you were sleeping with him. It had worked out pretty well in your eyes so you turned in his arms and wrapped your arms around his neck.

“I want you too, both of you.”

Happiness and Hair Ties (Drabble)

Pairing: Wakanda Bucky x reader

Warnings: fluff, goats

Summary: just straight fluffy goodness

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR 200 FOLLOWERS!!!! If you want any fic written please comment it and I will write it!

Happiness And Hair Ties (Drabble)

Bucky blew his hair out of his face for the 100th time. He was out trying to take care of the goats. Steve the goat was head butting his leg of course, that goat was always trying to start fights, hence Bucky naming him Steve. You were watching out the window of the hut you shared, laughing softly as your boyfriend struggled.

“Jamie, come ‘ere baby, let me help ya,” he waltzed over to where you had walked outside. “Help with what doll?” You pulled a hair tie off your wrist. “Turn around Jamie, it’ll keep your hair outta your face while ya take care of the goats.” He turned around and let you put up his hair. You decided on a bun, one, because you thought it would do the job, and two, because you knew it would be hella hot, and you were right, it was.

“Thanks doll, wanna read in the grass once I’m done?” You smiled at him, “sounds perfect, and I’ll make us a snack so we can have a picnic sorta thing.” Bucky put his one arm around you and gave your forehead a kiss, then headed out to the field to finish with the goats.

You went back inside and made a few types of sandwiches and cut them into pieces. You grabbed the books you and Bucky were currently reading and you headed out to the field. Bucky had just finished and picked a spot for you two. “Doll! Over here!” Your face lit up, “Jamie! I comin’!” You skipped over there and plopped down “heya baby,” you passed him his book and nuzzled into his neck. “I made sandwiches,” you informed him, showing off the sandwiches. He thanked you and took a piece.

After a little while a few of the goats got interested with you guys. You nudged Bucky, “Jamie look,” you pointed over to Diana the goat who was trying to ‘sneakily’ walk over to you. Bucky laughed, “I guess they want some pets, huh?” He called over the goats but only Steve and Diana came over, the rest continued eating the grass. Diana sat down in your lap, you scratched her head and continued reading. Steve on the other hand kept head butting Bucky’s hand that kept trying to pet him. Eventually he settled down though and took a nap. Once Steve fell asleep, Bucky did the same. You looked over and saw him asleep, it was then you really took in the situation.

You and Bucky, both of you torn apart by the war, tortured by Hydra, forced into doing things against your will. Somehow escaping, and meeting each other again. Everything you both had been through, always fighting in some battle, even before WW2 when you guys were saving Steve, and fighting for your rights as a woman, defying the gender norms.

But now, you both, sitting in peace, finally free, no battles, no one to tell you what to do, just you two, and the goats, together.

AN: alright, I think this might be one of my favorite fics I’ve written, so I am definitely going to do more fluffy, Wakandan Bucky fics, with the goats of course

The Super Soldier Who Loved Me

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x fem!Reader

Summary: Bucky is concerned that he’s not as romantic as the men in the period dramas that Reader loves.

A/N: This piece is purely self-indulgent and all I can say is that I need Sebastian Stan to be cast in a period drama so I can see him in a puffy shirt. Also Bucky being so soft for reader has my whole heart.

The Super Soldier Who Loved Me

“Oh my god, Buck, this is it! This is my favourite bit!” You said excitedly, slapping his knee repeatedly.

Bucky chuckled at how cute you were before looking up at the screen to come face to face with someone he’d soon deem to be his rival: Anthony Bridgerton.

“And it is not far enough! Do you think that there is a corner of this earth that you could travel to far away enough, to free me from this torment? I am a gentleman. My father raised me to act with honour; but that honour is hanging by a thread that grows more precarious with every moment I spend in your presence.

You are the bane of my existence…

And the object of all my desires.”

Religiously, you recited the words with Anthony and then dramatically flopped your head into Bucky’s lap. Your boyfriend smiled at you throughout your Oscar-winning performance and began stroking your hair as your eyes were glued to the screen.

“Isn’t that just… ugh. It’s amazing. If I was Kate I’d have collapsed.” You reviewed, squeezing the remote and humming contentedly at Bucky brushing his fingers through your hair.

Bucky frowned, looking up at the screen again. In all seriousness, he hadn’t really been paying attention to Bridgerton. He had returned from a three week long mission in Mexico in the early hours of that morning. There was barely any time for sleep as he was too excited to see you. He had got into bed and cuddled into you, eager for you to wake up and see he was there. When you did eventually waken, you had pinned him down and pressed kisses all over his face. After ensuring he was unharmed and didn’t have any wounds you needed to tend to, you spent hours talking; catching up on what had happened on the mission and informing him of the latest gossip in the compound.

After the late night and lack of sleep, a lazy Sunday afternoon on the couch with his best girl as she watched her comfort show seemed perfect to Bucky. That was, until Anthony Bridgerton reminded him of his incompetence.

Bucky thought it was so endearing and adorable that you loved period dramas and romance. You were such a thoughtful and kind girlfriend. He’d never felt so loved, even back in the 40s when his family were still alive; even by Steve who had risked everything to save him. You had always been different; you were gentle and always knew exactly what to say. It meant that when you did melt at the words of men in your beloved period dramas, Bucky felt a twang of pain that he didn’t have the same vocabulary or eloquence.

When you had made him watch Jane Eyre, he’d clenched his jaw at Mr Rochester as though he was facing up to a Hydra agent when he said: “I have a strange feeling with regard to you, as if i had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly knotted to a similar string in you. and if you were to leave, i'm afraid that cord of communion would snap.”

Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice was not much better as he confessed his love with: “If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love - I love - I love you.” This had Bucky staring at the screen in wide-eyed disbelief that someone could actually formulate those words in their head. Meanwhile, you were cuddled up to him on the verge of sobbing and saying “isn’t that beautiful?”

He had almost sympathised with Mr Knightley when he explained to Emma “maybe if I loved you less, I could talk about it more.” Bucky had related to that one as this is what he felt about you. Finally, one of these idyllic and charming men understood him.

That was until he remembered how you had squealed earlier in the film when Mr Knightley was so overcome with his love for Emma that he’d stripped himself of his jacket and threw himself on the floor in frustration. You had slapped Bucky’s chest at this point with a “how gorgeous is that scene?” Bucky had concluded based on that, Mr Knightley was not on his side.

He almost felt like he was wasting your time. Bucky was far from the romantic, puffy shirt wearing gentleman who had a gorgeous grasp on the English language that you loved so much.

Bucky looked down at you and tickled the back of your neck a little, wishing he could be better. You giggled and shuffled to reposition yourself on his lap, completely oblivious as to how nervous and insecure Bucky was feeling.

“Of course Y/N loves period dramas! She is dating a 106 year old!” Sam laughed hysterically. “The girl has a type, man.”

Bucky grimaced at Sam’s remark. “Yeah but I’m not like them. I love her so much but I don’t know how to say it the way they do.”

Sam shook his head and handed his friend a coffee. “Buck, no one does. We don’t speak Shakespeare nowadays.”

Bucky sipped his coffee thoughtfully, digesting what Sam’s words. Whilst Sam was right, Bucky couldn’t help shake the feeling that he wasn’t romantic enough for you. It had been plaguing his mind that week ever since you’d watched it on Sunday. You had left for a mission on Monday morning and his brain had been doing overtime trying to think of ways to improve his romance game.

“Anyway, I don’t think anyone actually did speak like that in those days. It’s a made up story, Buck. Just dig out your old war uniform and show her a good time that way.” Sam playfully winked and Bucky let out a bashful chuckle.

“I think she is more into the puffy shirts kinda thing.” Bucky responded, anxiously playing with his fingers. “Help me out, she comes back from her mission tonight and I want to surprise her with at least something.”

Before Sam could offer any suggestions, he was cut off by Peter, who had been sitting at the kitchen table with his face buried in a book and listening to music.

“I’m studying Shakespeare in English class right now! I can give you a sonnet to read to her.” Peter smiled, taking his headphones off. Sam and Bucky had assumed he wasn’t paying attention to their conversation but were pleasantly surprised to hear that he was.

Sam folded his arms and looked at Peter for a minute. “You know I think the little spider freak is right.”

“Spider-Man.” Peter corrected.

Bucky thought it over, looking between Sam and Peter. He wanted to show you that he could be romantic the way you needed him to be. Whilst the thought of reading out a Shakespeare sonnet made him feel extremely uncomfortable, the possibility of you reacting to him the way you did for your beloved characters was all the motivation he needed.

“Okay, fine. What have you got, kid?” Bucky asked eventually. Peter frantically looked through the papers on the table and landed on one that was decorated with highlighting, scribbling and notes.

Bucky reluctantly took the sonnet and read it over, knitting his eyebrows together in concentration.

“Look at that cyborg brain go. Taking in all that data?” Sam joked, slapping Bucky’s shoulder. “Remember when you read it out to her, you need to show that emotion and passion, that’s what she’ll want.”

“Yeah,” Bucky said with a frown. “Got it.”

*

Bucky smoothed down the puffy shirt he’d bought for the occasion with his vibranium hand. He wanted to dress the part while he read out the sonnet and give you the full experience you had no doubt dreamed of. However, he did think it wise to not share this part of the plan with Sam otherwise he’d never have heard the end of it. The shirt felt a little gratuitous but he was sure you would like it and that was all that mattered.

The super soldier was shaking with anxiety. He could go into dangerous missions stealthily and unfazed. But his nerves were getting the better of him now as he recited the sonnet once more under his breath. Desperately, he tried to inject some passion into his performance but he couldn’t relate to the words in front of him. They weren’t nearly as special enough for you. He cringed at the words but continued to try and memorise them nonetheless.

When you got back to the compound, you wasted no time in rushing upstairs to Bucky’s room. You opened the door, slung your duffel bag off your shoulder and started to remove your tactical jacket before freezing at the sight of Bucky in a puffy shirt. Perhaps you were tired from the mission or just jet lagged but you didn’t question his attire. Instead, you enjoyed the view of your tough super soldier boyfriend wearing one of those romantic and gorgeous shirts that clung to his broad shoulders perfectly.

“Baby, I have to say I have dreamed about you wearing one of those shirts but now I’ve seen it in person… wow.” You took him in for a second before hungrily stalking over and tugging at the shirt. “This was a lovely surprise to come home from a mission to.”

Bucky looked down at what you were doing and moved your hands away, chuckling at you.

“We can do that later, Doll. There’s something I want to say first.”

“Okay, I’m all ears.” It wasn’t until this point that you noticed he was nervous and holding paper in his hand. Bucky put his hands on your shoulders and manoeuvred you so that you were sitting on the edge of the bed and he was standing facing you.

You folded your arms and raised your eyebrow at him expectantly. Bucky inhaled deeply and stared down at the paper. Eventually, he scrunched the paper up and stuck it in the pocket of his trousers. You deserved better than someone else’s words. You deserved him to at least try and use his own.

“Okay, Doll, so the thing is, I know you love it in those period dramas when the hero-“

“I wouldn’t exactly call Anthony Bridgerton a hero, babe.”

“Well, okay, when the main guy makes this grand romantic gesture or speech to a woman. And all I can say is that I don’t know how to use flowery language or where to start with making big gestures. What I do know is that you’re my hero. You’re the best girlfriend I could ever have hoped for, you make me feel so loved and so safe. I love that you play with my hair when I’m anxious. I love that you take care of me when I have a panic attack or a nightmare. I love that you leave me little notes and that you give me gentle kisses all the time. I love you, Y/N. And I wish I was better with the pretty words or the expression of love but I just want you to know I’m trying to be better, for you. All I want to do is make you feel as happy and safe as you make me feel.”

The words replayed over and over in your head as you stared up at your boyfriend who was now shaking like a leaf after pouring his heart out. Yes, it didn’t have the same gallant polish as Anthony Bridgerton or Edward Rochester or Fitzwilliam Darcy; but you didn’t care. Despite what Bucky had thought, he’d actually done the big gesture he had deemed himself incapable of. He had taken something so dear and important to you and paid respect to it by wearing the shirt and trying to deliver a romantic speech to make you happy. It was perfect, truly perfect.

The gesture rendered you speechless which didn’t help Bucky’s nerves. He was quivering, waiting for your response until you got up from your spot and wrapped your arms round his neck, pulling him close. He concluded that this meant you were happy with his speech and started to feel secure again, slowly putting his hands on your waist to ground himself. He buried his head into your neck and pressed some light kisses to your soft skin.

“That was beautiful, Bucky, thank you.” You whispered and kissed the side of his head repeatedly. “You’re more of a romantic than you thought.”

“You think so?” He hummed against your neck, taking in your scent that he’d missed while you were away.

“I know so.” You asserted. “That was the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me.”

Bucky couldn’t help but grin and feel proud of himself. He squeezed your waist and pulled you as close to him as humanly possible. You ran your fingers through his hair, massaging little circles in all the spots on his scalp that you knew brought him comfort. Both of you absorbed the moment, slightly swaying from side to side, exchanging I love you’s and other sweet nothings.

“Now,” you chuckled after a couple of minutes and grasped a handful of the material of the shirt at Bucky’s back. “As much as I love this on you, I want it off.”
