What’s your best self-care advice for someone who just got broken up with after a two year relationship?

1. cry about it. I mean that genuinely. let yourself be heartbroken. ending a relationship? fucking sucks. it’s horrible, it’s painful, you’re gonna be sad, you’re gonna be angry. it’s going to hurt, possibly for a long time. but you have to get that shit out, don’t bottle it up or it’ll poison you. cry it out.

2. talk about it.talk to your friends, talk to your family, talk to your therapist, talk to your bartender. talk to your ex, if you’re still on speaking terms. hash that shit out. talk to yourself, write it down if you have to. you’re allowed to feel like shit about this and you’re allowed to need support and sympathy and to be reminded that people care about you.

3. forget about it.just for a little while, at first. do something you love, that’ll take your mind of things. probably something that you didn’t share with your ex. now is not the time to listen to the band you both loved, or watch films that remind you of how you met. let yourself get away from feeling bad for a while. 

4. live with it.remember that you are more than just this relationship, you have worth beyond what that person thinks about or felt for you. you are loved. you are still all the amazing things that person saw in you. don’t lose yourself, just because you’ve lost them. you are better than that. you deserve more than that. you will carry on and you will come out the other side of this wiser and stronger.you’re going to be okay, I promise.

Crime News, January 13th, 2019: Paweł Adamowicz (53), Mayor of the Polish city of Gdańsk, has been stabbed while on stage in a suspected assassination attempt.

Paweł Adamowicz, pictured above on stage during the event before he was attacked, was appearing before a crowd of hundreds of people during a charity fundraiser for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity when he was attacked tonight. A 27 year old male resident of Gdańsk armed with a blade rushed on to the stage during the show and stabbed Adamowicz before being restrained.

Before being detained, the attacker used a microphone to speak to the crowd, telling them his name was Stefan and that he had previously been wrongfully imprisoned by Adamowicz’s former party, and that this was why Adamowicz had to die. Adamowicz was rushed to hospital in a “very serious condition” according to Polish interior minister Joachim Brudzinski. The minister also called the attack an act of “inexcusable barbarity”.

The suspected attacker has been placed under arrest and he did not assault anyone other than the mayor during the incident. Local media reported that the attacker had used a press pass to get on/near to the stage, but this is unconfirmed at the moment. Polish news agency PAP has said that the attacker used “a sharp tool” in the stabbing. Adamowicz’s current status is unknown.

Hello, I just discovered that Gofundme does not work in the country I live in! More coherent post now that I’ve calmed down.

Hello! My name is Caleb and I am a trans guy of color who loves folklore, storytelling and drawing! I am raising money for my dad’s surgery + us getting back on our feet. He is 56 years old and his surgery is to remove kidney stones that are causing him significant pain +  is life threatening . My dad is a funny and incredible guy, He loves cats and singing and he had sacrificed everything for my mom, my sister and I.  Both him and my mom are diabetic and disabled, as when I was 9 years old, my mom had suffered a sudden sepsis attack, which had caused her to go brain dead for a few minutes, before being revived and fall in a coma for 3 months. When my mother woke up from her coma, she was paralyzed, even her vocal cords were paralyzed!! Ever since then it was just me and my dad who took care of our family, and then, when I graduated college, it was just me as dad got sick as well. I am only in my very early twenties and the sole caretaker of my family, my two disabled parents, my sister who is a minor, and our cats and dog.  My dad’s surgery was estimated to be 120 thousand pesos- 200 thousand pesos, which is 2,345.88 US dollars at least, and 3,909.80 US dollars at most.

I have a job, I just need a little bit of help.

1 US dollar = 50 Ph Pesos We live in the Philippines,  and my dad is taking an ultrasound tomorrow to see just what they can do about it. I will try to update as much as I can.
