Doctor having to enter in casual/private/plain clothes, because whumpee shows such a viscerally negative reaction to anyone in a coat/med clothing.
Maybe they thought about restraining whumpee, but the struggling would reopen wounds. Or they thought about sedating whumpee, but the sedative would interact negatively with the plethora of other medications whumpee is already taking.
Or maybe they just decided that a change of clothes is the most humane thing to do.
kind of a big fan of throwing characters into a cage. also they're branded and tied up. but their eyes are you know, feral and they're going to snap at any second
"came back wrong" what about Came Back Afraid. You used to be brave. Too brave maybe, defying the odds at every turn, a fighter, cocky, playing with fire, first to throw yourself at the enemy. Until one day it all caught up to you. You came back, somehow, but now you know all too intimately how it feels to lose, to die, to be destroyed. Now you flinch and freeze and cower at the slightest provocation. Who even are you now if you can't be brave? The grave may have let you go, but the mortal fear still grips you tighter than ever.
tw: Drugged/paralyzed
Whumpee woke up slung over someone's shoulder, unable to move. It was dark, and all they could see was the forest floor shifting beneath someone else's feet.
They tried to squirm, but nothing happened. A small whimper escaped them as the person carrying suddenly stopped. Gently, they were laid on the ground, their back pressing against the cold earth. Whumpee could barely make out their features, whoever it was, they didn’t recognize them.
A gloved hand cupped Whumpee’s face, causing them to flinch.
The figure tisked, then rolled up Whumpee's sleeve and injected a syringe into their arm.
The moment the needle pierced their skin, Whumpee lost the ability to make another sound. The fleeting sensation they had almost regained in their fingers quickly faded. The figure patted Whumpee's cheek, smiling when no response came.
With a grunt, they lifted Whumpee back over their shoulder and continued deeper into the woods.
Content: joint straining, fear, noncon touch, begging
That extra twist after a joint is locked up, forcing out a strangled gasp of pain
"Ah! Wait--wait--"
That freeze as victim realizes the position they're trapped in
Aggressor taking that moment to slide a hand into victim's front pocket, just intimate enough to be able to play it off later while making victim squirm right now.
"I'm not resisting." Victim pants, feeling their folded wrist twitch in aggressor's hand. "I'm not re--Im not resisting, whumper, please!"
TW: it's written with captive whump in mind, mentions of torture, restrains, escape, sadistic whumper
Flight: their body wants them to be the furthest they can from the source of pain, not stopping to think rationally about it
They are backed against the wall and cannot go any further, yet they try to, maybe if they are brave enough they might try to run to the side
Looking to the side, avoiding eye contact, closing their eyes, when they can't run physically they try to distance themselves mentally
Twitching and jerking back their body away from the Whumper, they want to be good and stay still but the movement is instinctual
Fight: their first reaction is throwing a punch, kicking or biting, they are more resilient and harder to break
They are trying to hit anything that caused them pain, it doesn’t bode well for the future, and they only earn themselves more punishments
The Whumper using more restrains, muzzles for biting, tighter restrictions, leather bonds instead of rope or chain because the Whumpee is always unnecessarily struggling and get themselves bruised by their bonds
When broken, the Whumpee still has the instinct to fight but after doing so they cover and apologize, explaining that they didn’t mean to
Freeze: faced with pain their body doesn’t move, even if they want to run or fight it just freezes
Their muscles tense up and every sensation seems so much worse, however it’s so hard to relax
The Whumpee managed to escape yet when they hear the Whumper behind them, they freeze, they beg their body to run, to do anything, yet they just stand there
They freeze up when ordered to do anything painful or dangerous, which will just bring a punishment upon them and even more harm
Fawn: on the front of their mind is keeping the Whumper happy, they will obey and are the easiest to train
They focus on the Whumper, looking for any reaction to their action, hesitating and waiting for orders, too scared to do anything wrong when acting out of their own volition
The Whumpee having a list of specific rules that they got out of their punishments, they keep their every offense in mind reminding themselves to not accidentally commit it again
When the order results in their pain they panic, they want to appease the Whumper but are scared of being hurt
Beg: they are not used to any physical reaction, they run their mouth trying to use the words to somehow get out of the painful situation
Panicking when gagged, they just got deprived of their defense mechanism, and it's so much worse than just being harmed
The hardest order to obey is ‘not taking without permission’, they swallow their words, every second reminding themselves to not react
The Whumper ordering them to beg for mercy, and they do just that, but the action was meaningless from the start, Whumper wanted to hurt them and hearing them beg was just a nice addition
(I couldn't find a word starting with F for begging, sorry)
I love fear in Whump.
Whumpee shaking and crying when whumper enters the room. Whumpee is already making themselves as small as possible before Whumper even has a chance to do anything.
Whumper is just existing in the same room as Whumpee, and Whumpee is on the verge of tears in fear.
Whumpee so terrified of whumper that after they get rescued when they hear someone who just vaguely sounds like Whumper they break down into a panic attack. Tears streaming down their face like they're back in captivity again.
Whumpee's who flinch at fast movements and who are quick to apologize because they're so used to someone being constantly mad at them that it's reflex at this point to say they're sorry.
Whumpee who acts like a feral cat that's been brought inside for the first time when they get rescued. They stay in their room all the time, unless it's late at night, and they're sure caregiver is asleep or if caregiver leaves the house. Even then, they only leave to grab some food. Maybe Caretaker leaves food marked for Whumpee in Tupperware in the fridge, or maybe Whumpee just grabs whatever shelf stable food they can before sprinting back to their room, back to safety.
Whumpee who's so used to captivity that making their own choices, what to eat, what to do, when and how to clean, when to go to bed is so incredibly overwhelming. That they just end up lying in bed practically comatose, until Caretaker tells then what to do and how.
Whumpee that slinks around corners and exists in the shadows because even if they know caretaker is nice, and won't hurt them. They can't help their reflex to keep themselves out of view, out of the way. Quite and hidden is safe.
Whumpee having a full-blown panic attack & meltdown, the first time caretaker becomes genuinely upset at Whumpee. Whumpee is crying and hyperventilating, they can't see straight, and they can't get themselves to say anything but 'I'm sorry!' or 'Please don't hurt me!'.
”you can just make an oc” you dont understand anything. the character needs to mutate naturally until unrecognizable. like all evolutionary processes it takes time. you can’t force it or it doesn’t take. you must endure weird ooc thematically discordant versions of a guy until they bud off into beautiful new life. have patience
Thinking about defiant whumpee being held down while a muzzle is forcibly strapped over there face
lovers, captured together, facing each other in an interrogation room. one of them forced to watch as their partner is beaten, shot, cut, shocked—hell, even waterboarded— while they can do nothing but struggle against their restraints, they can’t touch, can’t offer any comfort. gagged— they can’t tell their SO sweet little promises that everything is going to be okay.
maybe:
a) they made a vow to each other long ago —the organization, the cause comes first. no matter what happens, no matter the pain, they wont talk.
b) one of them has been left in the dark —to protect them, to keep them safe— they genuinely don’t know anything, their captor demands intel they simply don’t have, they swear they don’t know anything over and over again but the captor doesn’t care.
c) they talk. they give up names, codes, locations, anything to make it stop. but their captor keeps hurting their partner anyway. eventually, all they can do is beg. please. stop. just stop. let them go. keep me, take me instead.
d) they’re ready to spill every secret, to end the torture until they meet their lovers eyes and see them shaking their head. don’t.
A Whumpee who has spent their entire life under the control of another, without any autonomy or independence.
One day, after their rescue, they finally realize that they now *do* have autonomy, and that the others in their life respect that. They have independence, they can do whatever the fuck they want, they don't need permission anymore.
And that feels... weird. Surreal. Freeing. Confusing.
They're just holding this revelation in their hands like "What is this? What do I do with it?"
I love Bucky Barnes/Stucky, everything on this account is with them in mind. I love whump and whump prompts, trying not to traumatize my irls on the main account :)
