That moment you realize that the marauders era characters were those kids who everyone thought were going places, only to peak too early in high school.
Imagine being forced to become the kids who peaked in high school. đ
So Iâve been thinking
Quidditch car wash fundraiser
I donât know why they would ever need the money or why they would wash muggle technology for it. But just ignore that.
The school would never allow them to be sexy because they are c h i l d r e n, but you know James and Sirius would be constantly wiping their brows with their shirts just to show off their abs.
Remus and Peter would handle the money but then Sirius and James would convince them to participate too. (Sirius just wanted to see Remusâ muscles at work)
All the house teams would have to do it which causes a lot of problems. They would constantly be spraying water at each other, throwing rags and sponges, fighting over the music, and too many people would end up with soap in their eyes.
All the pure bloods (regulus) would be terrified of touching a muggle device thatâs âsure to explode at any momentâ. Regulus would end up getting put on money duty. Since he doesnât know how muggle money works people severely under pay. He was also incredibly distracted by the show the practically shirtless James was putting on.
The minute the last car was washed James and Sirius would take off their shirts just to show off. Remus and Regulus had a cardiac arrest at that point.
It would pretty much just be a shit show and they would never raise enough money. And everyone got to watch them all waddle back into the castle soaked head to toe looking like drowned rats.
That doesnât matter!!!! Just do it because you want to and if people like it thatâs just a bonus
How would you all feel if I did a Wolfstar/Marauders through Hogwarts story? Kinda like âAll the Young Dudesâ except not as good XD, no one can beat all the young dudes MsKingBean89 is a literal genius. But how would you guys feel about that?
Sirius: my brother and I get along really well
James: you- you just shoved him into the wall and called him stupid?
Sirius: . . . you clearly donât understand sibling relationships
Young Sirius to James: You and Regulus are gonna love each other and then weâll all be brothers!
James: *makes fun of him*
Reg: *doesnât realize heâs joking and ends up hexing him.*
Sirius: đ you gotta be fucking kidding međ
*tw child abuse
I like the thought of the one time Regulus helps Sirius is the night Sirius leaves.
Like, Walburga and Sirius are having this raging fight and as usual Regulus sits by the stairs and waits for it to be over.
As the fight starts to get violent he can hear Sirius fight back (which only started that summer)
He thinks Sirius is stupid and is only making it worse but it doesnât help the anxiety of knowing one of them will get hurt. He just wants it all to stop.
He hears someone crash to the ground while his mother is still screaming curses. Heâs scared out of his mind but his motherâs curses are slowly getting more severe and Sirius isnât responding. He slowly gets up and walks to the parlor.
He realizes that he can hear Sirius, but itâs just whimpers. He doesnât think about it too hard though. He doesnât think about how he doesnât have his wand on him. He doesnât think about how heâs supposed to wait by the stairs. He doesnât think about it when he stands in front of Sirius for the first time and disarms his mother from across the room. Right before she could utter the unforgivable. Her wand disappears from her hand. Into oblivion, Reg hopes.
He wanted it to stop. So he made it stop. But now he needs time to start up again so he can get the fuck out of there.
Sirius is bruised from head to toe but Reg manages to get him up the stairs. Sirius is only half conscious but he has a purpose as he stops leaning on him at the top of the stairs and starts ransacking his room.
Sirius canât believe it. Reg did it. He stood up to the old hag. Heâd been waiting for the right time to leave and this is just perfect. He doesnât bother with clothes, James will have plenty. He grabs his school things and all his pictures. Starting with one of him and James on his wall and slowly making his way to the one of Moony on his bedside table.
âCome on Reggie, get a move onâ Sirius throws over his shoulder. Regâs just been standing there in shock.
Regulus is still at the top of the stairs. He can hear Siriusâ scuffling around his room and his motherâs scrambling for her wand downstairs. The sounds are quiet but loud. Eerily similar to one another.
âWhat are you doing?â
âWeâre getting out of here.â
âWhat do you mean?â
Sirius finishes packing and turns back to Regulus. âCome with me. To Jamesâ. We can get out of here. We can leave.â
Sirius looks manic as he grabs Reg and takes them to his room. Sirius starts to grab his stuff and shove it into his bag. Heâs breathing heavily, trying to shove down the panic.
âI know we havenât gotten on very well these last few years⊠but we can fix it all now. Help me get all your stuff.â
âWe canât leave.â Regulus stills Siriusâ hands with his own. âAre you crazy? Mum will have a fit if we leave.â
âShe wonât be able to find us.â
âSheâll know where you went. Heâs your best friend.â Regulus knows all too well how close James and Sirius are. Practically brothers, as they say.
âReg,â Sirius is firmer now, âIâm leaving now. With or without you.â
Sirius makes his way to Regulusâ window. He just has to open the window and leave. âSirius, donât go.â
Itâs Regulusâ turn to panic. âJust stay. Iâm sure itâll all be fine. If we just apologize-â
âNo Reg. No more. I canât stay here.â Sirius opens the window and begins to clime out.
Regulus grabs his hand. âSirius please. Sirius just stay. Donât go. Itâll all be fine, just stay, please. Sirius Iâm so scared. » Regulusâ voice fades at the end, but Sirius hears it nonetheless. He grabs him and they wrap their arms around each other for the final time. « Youâll never be what they want you to be. Theyâll never be satisfied. »
Regulus doesnât answer. ïżŒthey always had differing opinions.
They pull back from each other but Sirius holds Regulusâ face, remembering the last time he saw him as his brother. « Goodbye, Reggie. »
Regulus wanted to say so much. Donât go. Come back to me someday. Donât let this be goodbye. Good luck. I canât lose you.
I love you
« Goodbye, brother. »
Sirius wouldâve grabbed Regulus and forced him out the window. He wouldâve tried harder when James blocked the front door as he tried to go back for him. But Regulus had proven himself. He had shown that he could stand up to their mother.
That was the first time Regulus had stood up for what was right. The second time, well, Iâm sure you can guess the second time, was the last time.
Regulus black and tattoos (sad regulus times)
I think that if Regulus ran away from the death eaters he would keep the mark for a very long time. He wanted to remind himself that he isnât a good person now just because he no longer hurts people.
He would stare at it for hours and remember all the damage heâs done, all the people he killed, all the families heâs ruined, all the torture he witnessed with a straight face. Then, once the guilt has reached its peak, he gets up and he does anything to help. He would leak information to Dumbledore about the death eaters, he would clean up demolished buildings after an attack, obliviate any muggles who saw, anything to make that guilt worth something.
When the war ends (just pretend it ended for normal reasons, not because of Lily, and theyâre all fine) he finally covers it up (in a muggle shop of course). He replaces the mark with a bouquet of flowers. Mainly made up of lavender and amaranths. Heâs never really been fond of flowers but he needed life to cover up the symbol of death.
He would lay these flowers over the graves of the victims. He wanted them to find peace, to have immortality in the afterlife to counteract the short life they lived. Both death eaters and muggle-borns. Some he knew, many he didnât.
This was where Sirius found him. Kneeling over Marleneâs grave(sorry I needed a reason for him to be here), he points his wand to Regulusâ head, ready to kill his last death eater. Regulus doesnât look up and says, âDonât kill me yet, I havenât finished.â Sirius realizes he was organizing the bouquet of flowers to decorate the grave, he looked around and saw half the graves covered in purple and pink flower arrangements.
Sirius helps him finish. He asks Regulus what happened to him, the last thing Sirius knew was that he had died. Regulus tells him everything, not looking for forgiveness, just wanting to answer the question. They walk to Sirius and Remusâ flat together. They part ways a few blocks away, Sirius not giving Regulus his address, even though Voldemort has been dead for months. They decide to not see each other again, both knowing their lives would only get worse if the other was in it.
Regulus gets his next tattoo that night. He gets the black crest, but instead of a crow in the center, thereâs a big, shaggy black dog. (You think he DIDNâT know they were anamagi, come on.)
From then on it was like something broke free. He got tattoos covering his entire body, not wanting to feel so empty. He figures that if he can tattoo the things he used to love on his body, keep them on him at all times, then maybe he can love them again.
Iâm sorry but Regulus is the strawberry daiquiri to Jamesâ piña colada I donât make the rules here
I think Walburga liked Sirius more than Regulus. Sirius fought back. He was a leader, a protector. He was strong minded and passionate but also incredibly loyal to his friends. Walburga thought that if she could get Sirius to agree with her ideals, all of his characteristics would fall perfectly in place of Voldemortâs right hand man. He wouldnât be just another DE, he would be in the inner circle. Walburga didnât expect much from Regulus, so she didnât care about him as much. Regulus was submissive and didnât think for himself. She knew he would become a DE, so she didnât pay attention to him. When Sirius left, Walburga was left with her spare. She was disappointed with not having a strong enough heir to be of more importance to Voldemort. Regulus was the disappointment in her eyes.
She was wrong about Regulus though. Regulus wasnât submissive, he was strategic. He had his own opinions and ideals, he just never said them because he knew it wouldnât get him anywhere. He knew how Sirius was treated and figured that speaking up for himself just wasnât worth it. He became a DE because he wanted to. He felt awful about his brother hating him for it, but he agreed with the world he was told Voldemort wanted to create (I think he was manipulated into thinking Voldemort just wanted a peaceful world where everyone could be free).
When Regulus realized heâd been tricked, he didnât want to be just another soldier on the light side like his brother, he wanted to take down Voldemort himself. (Little dramatic but love the enthusiasm) He sacrificed his life knowing that he would never get to say goodbye, never get to redeem himself in his brotherâs eyes. It wasnât expected nor welcome of him to do such a thing but he didnât care. He did what he wanted, whether people knew it or not.
Tw: toxic behavior, manipulation, trauma
I feel like Regulus is the most manipulative dick out there.
His entire existence was just lying.
He was taught from an early age how to repress his emotions. His parents and governesses would always make him repeat things back to them over and over again until they felt he learned his lesson.
Heâs incredibly observant so he figures out peopleâs personalities (and insecurities) really quickly. He just automatically mimics their personality when theyâre with him so he can get people to trust him.
He can use all of it to get people to do whatever he wants. Through blackmail, manipulation, gaslighting, or thinly veiled threats (because the Blacks always keep it classy).
However, he usually doesnât rely on other people. He just does it himself.
So, basically, he can do a lot of damage, he just chooses not to. It makes him feel secure to know everyoneâs secrets and to know exactly how to keep them complacent if the need ever arises.
Obviously learning this trait at such a young age (literally from birth) caused him to never fully understand who he was. It made him feel emotionless, less than human.
Sirius also learned how to mimic peopleâs behavior which was why he was always so much more vibrant when he was with James and super quiet with Remus, but soon realized that he didnât have to hide (and itâs super unhealthy to do) so he quickly unlearned it.
Okay, I donât know if anyone remembers the movie Hot Rod, but the marauders fit so well with James as Rod, Lily as Denise, Sirius as Dave, Remus as Rico, Peter as Kevin, and Regulus as Maggie.
