i tried animating (kinda??) nana and tecciz in capcut and it got SO. LAGGY. I COULD COUNT THE FRAMES I FELT LIKE MY PHONE WAS ABOUT TO STOP WORKING ALTOGETHER and its too laggy to make anything better than this i fear but i had fun... (i think)

oh well. practice makes perfect, and i wanted to practice. im only posting this bc i havent rly posted much abt aztec gods in a while and its not too embarrassing (i think)

i had so much issues with getting tecciztecatls hair right in capcut oh my god. the boing was fun to make tho (i think)

The four Tezcatlipocas each have illustrations where they have Tez' face markings for their different colors so I thought. For my designs. They would have them for their. Fucking. "Tezcatlipoca forms" in which they get a buff, since he's written to be the strongest of the four

They get his face markings and their own smoking mirrors! Quetz' smoke looks like a wind jewel, Xipe's looks like roseate spoonbill feathers and Huitzi's looks like Xiuhcoatl

Also appreciation for these Huitzi and Coyolli that I drew for a little lineup

Because I didn't draw Coatlicue big enough last time. Woah mama

I know there’s a language barrier between us but I’d like to say your art is a big inspiration for what I want to become. The use of color and the familiar sketchy feel just brings me so much joy :3

YOU WANT ME TO PICK? I don’t really have any least favorites I don’t think actually. At the most, I’m neutral towards them or don’t know enough to form an opinion. My favorite depends which stars are in position and the blood type of the vultures that sit on my house

Huitzilopochtli’s sister quarrel (here comes the stretch) and how dead warriors had to peek behind their shields to enter Ilhuuicatl-Tonatiuh. Also just being a warrior god and having a hummingbird feather shield idk it’s seven in the morning

I went so overboard omg but I wanted to try underpainting :Dc See if you can guess what color was the base for each of em! Reasoning for design choices beneath the cut.

Teeth are retractable so as to not puncture the eye when not in use

Lashes are retractable because I couldn't figure out what else to do with them LOL they're pretty thick whiskers and so he'd have some trouble if they stayed in the way, but having them fully retracted would, I imagine, risk them getting stuck or the pores plugging with oil/dirt

Whether or not his tongue is forked varies in canon, just as his blood color does, so I just chose the ones I prefer! I do really like it when people give him blue blood but I think in subtler hues it can make him look a lil nauseous so it's easier for me to work with red

He cleans himself with his tongue because he's a gross little beast and can't just take a shower or something. Ok but really I just thought it was cute what are you a cop leave me alone

Every villain needs to be able to have claws it's like a rule somewhere I think

The second set of eyelids serve to protect the optic nerve but are mainly something I added partially for emoting purposes and partially because of how many times the animators do this thing where his lashes don't follow his lids and it drives me less insane to have a hc about it
