I'm trying to find a story I might have read on Tumblr that goes like this:

A knight makes a deal with an ragged, eldritch looking "king" that sits on atop a throne somewhere and when he fulfills his end of the deal, to take the "king's" place, he realizes that he was the king all along and now has to make that same deal with his younger self.

And it's also the best, because it hasn't been discovered by the mass and ruined.

There are no shitty, out-of-character fanfictions of it that you can't help but read but will completely erase the true essence of the character from your mind.

And the book can be your little secret, your precious gem that you don't have to share with anyone but very few people whom you're not likely to meet

One of the worst feelings has to be when you finish an amazing book and have no one to talk to about it
