Lily: what's your biggest fear?
Remus: my biggest fear is that one day I'll wake up as a chocolate bar.
Lily: you would eat yourself, wouldn't you?
Remus, whispering with a horrified look: I wouldn't even question it.
My gospel truth is the relationship between regulus and Sirius is more important to me then any of the ships.
Something about Walburga Black disowning her son, burning him from the tapestry, calling him a blood traitor unwelcome in her home, and leaving his childhood bedroom completely untouched
Something about Sirius Black throwing out every heirloom and treasure in Grimmauld Place, trying to erase his family’s memory, calling Regulus an idiot and a Death Eater and leaving his brother’s childhood bedroom completely untouched
The Sirius star is part of the constellation Canis Major.
This constellation represents the loyal dog that would hunt by Orion’s side.
Simply his pawn, his pet, his servant.
Remus Lupin has always been honest, he never sees a need to lie.
Sirius Black has been lied to and been fed propaganda about muggles/muggle-borns by his parents all his life.
---
Sirius Black hates lies.
Remus Lupin never lies.
It's why Sirius was so determined to find out where Remus was going every month, because it was the only time he wasn't brutally honest.
Oh, that wonderful feeling when you’re plotting and brainstorming and the dots just start CONNECTING all over the place and then it just spirals into this oh… oh???? Oh!!!! OH??!?!?? moment which is an unmatched high as a writer
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz etc
my brain when i sit down to write: “i have no ideas.”
my brain when i’m trying to sleep: “here’s 50 plot twists and a perfect line of dialogue.”
sirius black who drives with one hand on the steering wheel, who helps peter tie his tie, who draws on his arms in class, who always hands in his essays last minute, yet perfectly written and always well over the requested length, who wears huge boots and jeans too large for him and a leather jacket one size too big, who loves the beach and the sea, who pierced his nose in his dorm’s bathroom with a sewing needle, who only listens to james, whose favourite weather is the cold winter because the wind sends shivers through his bones, making him feel something, who leans put the window when he smokes in their dorm because james always complains the smoke, who does crosswords in pen and ink because he knows he’s not wrong, who hurts the people he hates and longs for the people he loves, who is reckless and determined and intelligent and arrogant, who’s loyal as a dog and whose words are as sharp as knives.
Aughhhh I accidentally committed a crime against Remus and forgot to wish him a happy birthday on the 10th!!
Happy belated birthday, my dear and beloved Remus Lupin
Yes! And if Regulus had the "golden child" status, if nothing else, he felt smothered by their high expectations for him. Most "golden children" also struggle with feelings of guilt for having preferential treatment. No matter what side of the equation either Black brother is on, it would still be absolutely miserable and abusive.
"Regulus wasn't abused. He was a golden child and Sirius was the scapegoat. His parents loved him "
Obviously, there isn't any evidence of physical abuse against either Sirius or Regulus in the books. However, something caused Sirius to run away and it surely wasn't that his parents didn't give him pocket money. The psychological or emotional abuse must have been bad enough that Sirus decided to run. Anyone who has abt experience with toxic or abusive parents will know that every child reacts to it differently but at the end of the day, regardless of whether you follow the rules or you act out, their toxic or abusive behaviour is going to affect you. Parents dont become abusive because you break rules. Suggesting that Regulus with his "golden child status " was exempt from the abuse is just ridiculous and quite frankly harmful to people who find themselves in such homes.
