Yes! And if Regulus had the "golden child" status, if nothing else, he felt smothered by their high expectations for him. Most "golden children" also struggle with feelings of guilt for having preferential treatment. No matter what side of the equation either Black brother is on, it would still be absolutely miserable and abusive.
"Regulus wasn't abused. He was a golden child and Sirius was the scapegoat. His parents loved him "
Obviously, there isn't any evidence of physical abuse against either Sirius or Regulus in the books. However, something caused Sirius to run away and it surely wasn't that his parents didn't give him pocket money. The psychological or emotional abuse must have been bad enough that Sirus decided to run. Anyone who has abt experience with toxic or abusive parents will know that every child reacts to it differently but at the end of the day, regardless of whether you follow the rules or you act out, their toxic or abusive behaviour is going to affect you. Parents dont become abusive because you break rules. Suggesting that Regulus with his "golden child status " was exempt from the abuse is just ridiculous and quite frankly harmful to people who find themselves in such homes.
Sirius: So⦠my mother wanted to know the names of my friends.
Sirius: I panicked and started brushing my teeth.
Sirius: Because I canβt talk while Iβm brushing my teeth, ya know?
Remus Lupin has always been honest, he never sees a need to lie.
Sirius Black has been lied to and been fed propaganda about muggles/muggle-borns by his parents all his life.
---
Sirius Black hates lies.
Remus Lupin never lies.
It's why Sirius was so determined to find out where Remus was going every month, because it was the only time he wasn't brutally honest.
no matter what happened today, you:
are loved
deserve to eat
are needed & valued
should take care of yourself
have a future
will be okay
Ah... and now the Marauders Fandom has come for this post, lmao
Looking up Scottish mythological creatures and
Wulver: a werewolf in Shetland, that is said to have had the body of a man with a wolfβs head. It was reported to have left fish on the windowsills of poor families.
That is the nicest Werewolf legend Iβve ever heard of.
Lily: what's your biggest fear?
Remus: my biggest fear is that one day I'll wake up as a chocolate bar.
Lily: you would eat yourself, wouldn't you?
Remus, whispering with a horrified look: I wouldn't even question it.
tiny Harry is so funny
Why do you have trust issues?
Baby, I've been betrayed by people I would've died for.
