emily gwen, the creator of the sunset lesbian flag that we’ve come to commonly use, still continues to live in poverty.
multi-billion dollar companies have used their design and made profit from it, and yet they have not seen a cent for their creation.
i’ve been friends with emily for years, and i have not once seen them be financially stable the entire time. i’ve seen them homeless, unemployed, starving. right now, they need our help more than ever.
please consider donating to emily’s ko-fi, especially if you’ve used their design to create something and profited from it.
For anyone who is unaware, MAP means "minor attracted person" though this is nothing but a false name Pedophiles use in attempt to weasel their way into the Queer community. If you see anyone using this flag, block them and report them if you can.
Edit: I've seen a lot of people mention this so I'd like to state it here as well so more people can see it. 1) DO NOT REFER TO PEDOPHILES AS "MAPS". The only reason I used it here was to make people aware of what it means in this context. Actually using it when talking about pedophiles does nothing but help them hide and it also hurts the animation community. Which brings me to point 2) the term "MAP" in animation is an acronym for "Multi Animator Project". If you see an animation video with MAP in the title it simply means that the video was made in a collaboration between several animators, it is in no way related to pedophiles or pedophilia. We need to stop calling pedophiles MAPs both to stop giving them an "innocent" sounding title and to stop hurting the animators who are simply trying to keep their titles short and simple.

Hat kid and Bow kid are trick or treating on a different planet than usual
So since I've seen an uptick in people using A.I. models to copy a bunch of my friends' voices, I feel compelled to remind people that I DO NOT approve of using my voice in any A.I. related thing.
I'm not some big-name celebrity. You can always try to ask me to voice something. Heck, even if I WAS a bigger name than I am, I'd still love to chat about whatever you'd be interested in having me voice.
Worst case scenario? I say no.
That could very well happen, since I've been trying to branch out to more paid gigs. And any time used on free work could take away from paid opportunities. That said, depending on if I like your idea, I might be interested in doing it regardless of any promised payment.
But when you use A.I. to get voice lines from well-known VA talent, you're taking that choice away. You're forcing a voice actor to fit into a role that they DID NOT approve of. Forcing them to say and do things against their will. Taking away a chance for that voice actor to get a paying opportunity.
I've known this one pro in the VA sphere that's been in TONS of movies, games and shows. And yet, I saw them venting about possibly needing to apply for unemployment due to them not getting voice opportunities. And that's WITH an agent.
Imagine being a fresh face in the scene and not being able to get work because:
1. Someone steals your voice with A.I. instead of hiring you.
2. A bunch of startup projects decide to use A.I. voices instead of getting paid actors.
REALLY put yourself into their shoes. How would you feel if someone stole YOUR voice and used it in something you didn't approve of? Imagine how it feels to lose a chance at doing something you love because "A computer can get the job done."
And the saddest part of all of this; if you use A.I. to get voicework done, you end up with lackluster results. Voice lines devoid of any emotional significance or situational context. And you miss out on collaborating with a potentially fun person to work with.
There are people all over Twitter, CastingCallClub, and other places that are BEGGING to get cast for projects. Even for FREE.
Don't use A.I. Care for VAs.
Shh, you didn't hear or see anything about this from me hehehehe >:D (need 5 VAs and 2 animators)
