It's interesting that a lot of the fan objections to the continuity of Rimmer looking for a more successful version of himself in "Skipper" centre on the lack of a mention of Ace, given that in "Only The Good..." Rimmer learned of another way more successful version of himself, Captain Rimmer in the Mirror Universe.

I realise that the answer to this is (a) calling the episode "Skipper" automatically brings Ace to mind and (b) the majority of the fandom try to forget Series VIII exists and I can't blame them. Plus the very gay (textually, not subtextually) scene with First Officer Lister was cut from the ep so not everyone knows it exists.

But every so often I like to remind people that Rimmer crossed into a Mirror Universe where he found out he had everything he wanted - he was Captain of Red Dwarf and had a very big cock (don't look at me, I didn't write that) - and his consequent assumption when he met alternate Lister was, and I quote, "Oh my God, you're my lover!"

How are people still doubting this. Man literally shags men.

My friend and I had a rant after we saw the trailer cuz she is the only person I know who likes the game. And I was rewatching the trailer for the 10000th time and I noticed something. Every npc that the player talks to speaks in some way. All except one, the guy who puts his hand on the hero’s shoulder when Humphrey says ‘chancers’.

Now.

I might be being delusional. Or too in love to accept anything else. But I KNOW THAT PRETTY BROWN HAIR. I KNOW THAT NOSE. And I am CONVINCED that that mf has to be my boy Reaver.

He is the only npc that doesn’t speak, even the player speaks. Reaver has the most recognisable voice in the entire franchise (Therese being closely behind) thanks to the goat that is Stephen Fry. If Reaver was in the game they wouldn’t show any voice lines, they’d wanna have a semi big reveal like they did in Fable 3. Leaving hints throughout the game before they introduce him into the story.

And with this game being set before 2 (the guild being very much alive and very much not burned) this potentially being Reaver means that’ll be before Oakvale burned. MEANING WE MIGHT SEE IT.

And the hand on shoulder? The look? THE SUNSET? ROMANTIC MUCH?

WHAT IF???? JUST WHAT IF???? The ‘her’ that Reaver talks about in his diary entries in Fable 2 is the hero we play as in this game. It’s not as likely mainly because we don’t know if the hero will be strictly female, we may get a gender selection. But imagine!!!!! I will take any excuse to romance reaver! Even if that means I’ll be killed in a town spread fire after he sacrificed me to stay a pretty boy forever!

Episode 8 killed me. I LOVE HALBRAND SO MUCH. WHYYYYYY?

One thing I noticed when rewatching Red Dwarf for the 5th time, was that Lister has a pink handkerchief on his left arm and a red handkerchief on his left leg. I know on the surface that doesn’t seem like much, but hear me out. The Handkerchief code was something used by Queer people to determine their roles in seggsy time, shown by colour and wether it was placed on the right or left side of the body. If the handkerchief was on the right side, it showed the person was a bottom, and if it was on the left side of the body they were a top. Go and search what the colours mean, specifically what light pink and red mean, and you’ll never be able to look at Lister the same way again
