I’m stealing this to talk about Chaotic Minds AU for a hot sec (because I frankly do not talk about it enough).
Malevolent canon is all about this, humanity, experiencing the worst of it and going “yes, this is what I want”. Chaotic Minds is not that.
CM is about abandoning your humanity. In Malevolent, John is turned to humanity by Arthur, but in CM, Arthur is pulled away from it by Kayne. Of course, this Arthur is Darthur, he already had a bit less humanity. He experienced the worst of it and he *doesn’t want it*. CM is about escapism. It’s finding unhealthy relationships and clinging onto them because they mean you’re not alone.
Sinner is, by their very nature, a toxic relationship. It’s codependency to the highest degree. They use each other to escape from all the pain.
They never want to hurt again and that means giving up their humanity.
Malevolent and the Epic of Gilgamesh take up the same part of my brain
River and Styx, avatars of the End
These are some new OCs and they were made for both TMA and non-TMA uses but I’ll just give the TMA lore.
They are avatars of the end that died together centuries ago. Now they lead people to their death with their music. If you hear sweet music coming from the bayou, it’s time to go. In general, they are fairly relaxed individuals and are not nearly as malicious as most avatars. They also have a pet gator named “Ferry”. She’s the most spoiled gator in the whole south.
I’m finally restarting this series and starting strong with this spiral good (bad) boy! I’m much happier with my creature design now.
The Laughing Dog is a creature of the spiral that finds its home in old, winding buildings. Its laugh can be heard for miles and is alluring to the curious. Once within the building, its laugh can be heard echoing through the hallways but its main hunting tactic? It’s stretching body. Its midsection can stretch VERY FAR, making it appear as though there are multiple creatures you can see peaking around corners. If you come up on its tail, you turn to run and are suddenly faced with its mouth. You can’t escape it. As soon as you look into its mouth, you are paralyzed with fear and that’s when it devours you.
Guys, you keep reblogging the wip but it’s done lmaooo, check my blog
Another WIP for the mouthwashing piece
The End (4/15) “Dead Poet”
The End (4/15) “Dead Poet”
The Dead Poet is a passive creature in the world of these entities. It does not need to hunt, death comes for all. However, it is often attracted to funerals and spends its time in cemeteries, feeding on the fear from mourning families as they are forced to confront mortality in a very tangible sense. It can also feed on the lingering fear clinging to the bodies as they are buried though this is not nearly enough to satisfy it. It gets its name as those who have encountered it report hearing whispers of past eulogies of loved ones or ones for themselves. The closer the creature is, the stronger the connection to the eulogy (ie. far away is eulogy of distant relative and quiet), too close and that is when you hear the one of your own death. Staying too close to the creature forces you to age and you can feel your body growing weaker. It will approach but will not chase.
I will be using this
instead of listing my predictions for malevolent part 52 here’s a bingo board. I went absolutely crazy because it’s a scratch nightmare AND the finale, so plot doesn’t exist to me anymore and I’m having SO MUCH fun thinking of everything that could happen. btw I’m feeling really good about the middle and fourth column and the middle row
I will not apologize.
You can’t lie to him
Butcher and Darthur if they were partners
It’s finished…
I had so much fun with this piece and it took forever. 6:35:47 to be exact, the longest I’ve ever spent on a piece. Here’s all the WIPs and a 30sec speedpaint.
Almost forgot to mention, if you’re the first person to reblog this and point out all the symbolism, you’ll win a free headshot sketch ; )
