here's a quick guide for understanding how to shop for computer parts

CPU - This is your computer's brain. More advanced brains mean more complex things can be done, but CPUs have gotten so advanced in general that you don't actually need a top of the line CPU for most PC functions, even for playing graphically intensive video games (with some exceptions).

GPU - This thing is what makes the graphics on anything you run on your PC. You also don't need a top end one for most PC functions, but if you want to crank that video game to max settings and see the pores on your fave's face, you will need a good GPU. GPUs used to be cheaper many years ago, but when crypto became a thing, people bought GPUs to mine cryptocurrency which drove the prices up like crazy. (In the rare case a video game is said to be "CPU-bound", it means it doesn't matter how good your GPU is, that game's performance is going to be more affected by how good your CPU is instead. )

RAM - This is your computer's attention span. The more RAM you have, the more (or bigger) things your computer can do at once. Programs that ask your computer to calculate a ton of stuff at once have higher RAM demands. Nowadays, you want to have a minimum of 12 gigabytes of RAM if your computer is purely for work, and 16 if it's for gaming. Even mere internet browsers are heavy on RAM usage nowadays.

Storage - Your computer's memory. The bigger your storage, the more files and programs you can save. These come in two types. 1) HDDs are cheap, stable, and slow due to being old tech. Perfect for storing all your files. 2) SSDs are more expensive, not as stable (if they fail it's a lot harder to recover the contents as opposed to an HDD), and way WAAY faster than HDDs. It's better to install your programs on SSDs if you want them to load like lightning.

Power supply - Your uh, your computer's power supply. Plug it into a wall and your computer can turn on.

Motherboard - All of these parts have to combine to form a computer right? The motherboard is the big circuit board you attach all these parts to, the skeleton of your PC. Not every computer part can fit on every motherboard, so make sure yours fits!

Fans - Fans attached to your computer to prevent your precious and expensive equipment from melting into a sad puddle because you decided to play Monster Hunter Wilds. Some are loud, some are quiet, as long as it keeps your parts cool, you're good. Some PCs dont use fans and instead have complex liquid cooling systems (and some people stuff their motherboard into an open freezer).

If you don't know what you're looking at with all the long numbers and weird names, simply find out what part it is, google that name + review, and you'll get nerds on the internet telling you if it's worth the price.

For example, a thing says 'RTX 5090'. That thing is a GPU. Just google the exact model's name + review and nerds on the internet will tell you if it's worth it (it's not, don't buy a 5090).

If it's your very first time and you've got a tight budget, google "PC build for under X dollars" where X is your budget. You'll find many suggestions, sometimes with builds tailored for specific purposes (video editing, office work, PC gaming, rendering 3D, etc)

There’s a far right organization masquerading as a health organization called the American College of Pediatricians. The page is horrifying. There’s a section dedicated to parents trying to force their kids to be cis. The section for teens is pure scaremongering. I’m not even getting into the part for doctors. The purpose of this is to ruin the lives of trans youth and, directly or indirectly, end those lives.

I will emphasize, I would not be here if this existed when I was outed.

The teens section also states you will be in lifelong pain after transition, this is not true. You will be happier as you. I can attest, after I accepted I was non-binary I was happier than I was before.

Erin Reed made a video on this which I highly recommend you watch, it goes a bit further into what this is. This organization is promoting and enabling violence, sentencing transgender children everywhere this website is used to death or a life that is not truly living. Act like this is the execution device it is.

I absolutely LOVE the song "No Such Thing As A Hollywood Ending" from the 2018 movie "Anna And The Apocalypse"

It is an amazing beginning song as it fits with how the main characters, Anna and her best friend, are feeling. It fits with emotions and it gives little bits of insight as to the lives of random background characters. Any song can do this, but what makes this song special?

Warning, spoilers for this amazing Christmas musical under the cut. I recommend you watch the movie before reading all of this

First, it is called "No Such Thing As A Hollywood Ending" which hints to the fact that the film isn't going to play out how you would generally guess it to. This is then reinstated with the line "this is not the story you're dreaming of, the one where you get all you want, so stop your pretending, no such thing as a Hollywood ending" which then calls to the fact that many of the things you may want don't happen. The father isn't saved, the couple don't make it out alive, the grandma dies, the best friend is zombified.

Then there's John(the best friend)'s lines. He says that "the nice guys don't always get the girl" and he doesn't. He never gets to have that more solid relationship with Anna because he sacrifices himself for her, letting her live. He, the nice guy, doesn't survive and instead the bully does.

Then there's the lines of the couple. Christian and Lisa want a "love never ending" and Christian directly states "I'll never disappear" and these things ring true. They are both zombified in the end and are set to eternally linger in that room, occasionally bumping into one another. They are forever together in their undead state.

And then this all ties back to the very message of the song: "No Such Thing As A Hollywood Ending". No one gets what they want, it doesn't end how everyone expects. It's a comedy musical set during Christmas and so it would generally come to mind that there will be a happy ending where the main cast survives, but that doesn't happen. Only two of the original cast survive in the end, with Anna being the only one of the initial cast to survive. The bully and the butch are introduced later on, with the bully receiving even less of an introduction than the butch.

As the film progresses you want Christian to arrive to the musical number Lisa sings, you want Anna to get back to her father and survive, you want Anna and John to eventually get closer or maybe even get together.

But none of this happens.

"So stop your pretending, there's no such thing as a Hollywood ending"

This is abuser propaganda.

Decent people don't trap people in cycles like this. Decent people treat others with kindness so people wouldn't have any reason to hate them.
