SAO but Zoids, more of a new century setup, Nascar meets gladiator system.
Information on specific character/Zoid combos after the read more.
Asuna is a high ranking pilot from the dominating team in the major league of zoid battles, KOB, but worries that her parents money and resources could be influencing her wins and starts moonlighting in the minor league to prove her skills. Her partner is a Lanstag that has been passed down in the Yuuki family for generations.
Kirito left his adoptive home and set out in the Blade Liger he was found in as a toddler, joining MBC, a minor league zoid team run by a group of lifelong friends and zoid enthusiasts. His skills as a pilot lead to a rapid rise in the ranks and he became very close with his doubles partner, Sachi, but an accident during a match resulted in Sachi being hospitalized. Kirito was unable to forgive himself and left without even learning if she survived.
Kayaba is the team captain of KOB, as well as the head of their R&D department. The Yuuki Conglomerate have been using the Zoids battle league to develop military Zoids for a potential future war but Kayaba seems focused on limiting or removing the separation between zoid and pilot. Mainly pilots a modified Sturm Tyrann.
Kuradeel is a mid ranked fighter in KOB, who pilots a Sword Wolf. If there was a ranking of Creepiest major league pilots he would be in the top 10.
Silica has a zoid, but is not a fighter. After getting lost in the forest outside her hometown she met Pina, her best friend and a zoid of indeterminate model or species.
Lisbeth is a travelling Zoid mechanic and Asuna's close friend. Her Gustav and Camper trailer have become the unofficial headquarters of Asuna and Kirito's as yet unnamed minor league team.
Sachi was never fond of zoid battles, but the lack of steady non combat work for Zoid pilots led to her and her friends starting the MBC. Formerly piloted a Rev Raptor.
Team PML is made up of pilots who could have been on par with KOB in the majors, but constant personal drama and repeated breakups and reunions leave them in the minors.
Llenn pilots a custom Leostriker, and is known for jettisoning her armor to rush opponents at incredible speed. Exclusively pilots small and micro scale Zoids and rarely talks to reporters.
Pitohui is known for using a wide variety of Zoids, but has recently favored a Liger Zero. Hasn't been reached for comment or photographed.
M is left picking up the slack for PML PR, and seems to be the most long suffering of the team, though he is the one member of the team to have never quit or joined a competing team. Used to pilot a Cannon Tortoise, but when Pitohui debuted her Liger Zero he switched to a heavily modified Iron Kong that serves to carry and swap Her Liger's CAS units.
Replayed SAO Hollow Fragment, started getting ideas about sort of folding characters and elements from Integral Factor into the main game canon.
I’m really liking them, name-wise I’m thinking something Plant based, or maybe Artifact? Remnant? Might be too close to Relic the Pika in that case. Manzanita is a favorite, and they have pale leaves and blossoms, which match Her color-scheme.
Day 7- Personality
The Red Girl rumors describe an expressionless ghost like figure silently witnessing Rampant Machine attacks, or talking to constructs before disappearing.
The Red Girl that Mary has found is (relatively) expressive. Prone to uncomfortable and stilted attempts at flirting(?) as well as quiet displays of anger when encountering damaged or abandoned machines. Underneath all of these behaviors is a deeply obsessive nature and lack of boundaries.
I love the flavor of book that goes "we can't tear down this unpopular building, what if there was a weirdo living in the rafters/basement?" The only examples I can think of off the top of my head are Phantom of the Opera and Hunchback of Notre Dame, so it's apparently a very French concept?
Also a surefire way to make a building into a beloved landmark.
Obsessively played Integral Factor the last couple weeks.
I pick every "jump in front of danger" dialogue option offered, which can't be good for Koharu's blood pressure.
Finally got my workstation set up, and made some progress on my Jeena figure. Featuring Tamiya putty, which is a dream to work with, and a nightmare to ventilate.
