I love making VAGUELY self-insert ocs that start out as just “Me but XYZ” and end off in “Oops! All transition goals!” Anyway, me if I was a Gym Leader in Pokémon

And here’s some rambling ↓
So basically, you meet Ace semi-early in game, maybe right after your first gym, and they ask you to help them out with practice for two “lucky Pokémon” (shinies) they found while training their main partner, Larvesta, to evolve. They do not share any information about themselves, and after being defeated, they have a small chat about the gym challenge with you. They mention in passing that the second to last gym works with bug types, which is odd, since bug types are often seen as weaker. Then you get to that gym. And the Leader/Celebrity Arachnace looks SUSPICIOUSLY familiar, though they INSIST that they’ve NEVER seen you before…
They know
still figuring out how to shade.

all video games should have a “I’m shit at video games but I’m curious about the story and I don’t want to watch a let’s play” mode
i think theres something very special and joyous about people. like having little interactions and things. i dont know how to word it but like yeah. and im specifically not talking abt friendship or romance or anything i think theres something very wonderful abt being strangers also. i think theres a special whimsical joy in such a short-lived interactions. like playing videogames. when ur in a silly shooter like rivals or overwatch and u start jumping and ur teammates join in or u make friends with an enemy or something and u have a lovely time but after that match ur never gonna see them again and thats ok. and mmos especially like i remember a more experienced player seeing me and healing me and sticking around for a bit to help keep me up whilst i beat some enemies for quests. and when im playing healer and i just hit Random people with healing spells even when they dont need it and sometimes they wave and i wave or they jump and then theyre gone and thats that and i think thats ok i think thats great. not every interaction needs to end up in a lifelong friendship. theres joy in the short and brief too. theres kindness and whimsy and good things and it doesnt have to be love or friendship or anything it can just be a thing that happens and thats still cool. its still such a nice little thing. theres a joy in coexistence, in helping others youll never see again, in hitting a wave emote and receiving one in turn. in sitting down and having strangers join you. in knowing somebody, though not really at all, for just a brief few minutes before theyre off with the wind. video games are so awesome to me. idk does any of this make any sense idk i wanna sleep. but yeah. so much coolness in the world and it doesnt even need to have anything related to love and friendship and things. there are leaves that change colour and there are gentle breezes and there are endless positive but brief interactions and there are the comfort of blankets and bed and there are plushies and stuffed animals and yeah. life is cool
