how is otto hightower the sanest person on the greens side rn. the bar is in hell.
(helaena my darling doesn’t count, she’s not on a side).
jesper: why do you call him "gandalf?" matthias: gandalf the wizard? hello, didn't you read Lord of the Rings in high school? jesper: no, i had sex in high school.
nina: inej, we need more candy! inej: what? there's only been like four kids. nina: yeah, i know, but one of them just said that she loved me, so i just gave her everything. wylan: no wonder you're pregnant.
as if inej’s entire backstory isn’t dependent upon her being taken at 14. as if the entire point of both matthias and nina’s conflict isn’t that they were both raised a certain way and now that they’ve come to adolescence they have a chance to break free. as if wylan’s entire relationship with his father isn’t about him coming of age. as if the entire point of kaz’s dirtyhands persona isn’t that he’s seventeen and terrified of the older barrel bosses. i don’t even wanna get INTO jesper. or kuwei.
I've been seeing so many, "the crows aren't reeeaallly teenagers", "them being kids makes me uncomfortable", "I age them up in my head", "I like the ages better in the show", and idk if I have the energy to hash out the meta essay it takes to address these opinions and why they are deeply wrong, so I will just say BITES YOU BITES YOU BITES YOU BITES YOU
jesper: i've always been a little confused about this, why can't you kill wolves?
matthias: we believe wolves are gods
nina: not technically, in drüskelle culture, wolves are thought to be like god
matthias: do not tell me about my own culture, nina! in the mood i'm in, i'll take you out, i swear to wolf!
black widow was so good i’m in awe. i was consistently surprised by how little they sexualized her and how throughout the whole thing what she was wearing made sense. i loved the relationship between her and yelena, it felt very real and solid, which made me more interested in yelena’s character. the female relationships in this hit so hard and the theme was clearly about natasha forming bonds. (i also appreciated the fact that no cameos were made by other avengers, which might be an unpopular opinion).
YES U GET IT!!
i think we should advertise menstrual products to trans men the way we advertise deodorant to cis men. i think that would be really funny.
wylan: why are you always in such a foul mood?
kaz: experience.
no bc the scene where bucky says “if he was wrong about u, he was wrong about me” has so many layers. it’s sad bc bucky has been through so much shit and constantly doubts his self-worth (“i don’t know if i’m worth all this steve”) and then steve left him, so he prob feels like he WASN’T worth it. but then, you have to think about sam’s side of it, which a lot of bucky stans are neglecting. this situation is about systemic racism in this country and that’s what the conflict is. so yes, bucky is traumatized and that’s sad, but sam has his own story and it was HIS shield to give up.
okay wait i want a genuine explanation about something. why are some people talking about how bucky never said anything about isiah... like wasn’t he under hydra’s control when he met him?? he might not have recovered that memory until recently. and even if he knew before... he wasn’t really in a place to tell the world anything until after the blip, bc he was a fugitive until that point. so, in the few months after the blip he’s obviously dealing w his PTSD and isiah or anything else from the past like that isn’t his first thought. like i seriously wanna know what people are talking about, i don’t get it. we’ve seen bucky be super ignorant in other ways, but idk how it applies here.
