YES U GET IT!!
i think we should advertise menstrual products to trans men the way we advertise deodorant to cis men. i think that would be really funny.
jesper: who loses 57 coin tosses in a row? you know? heads she wins, tails i lose. jesper: wait a minute... kaz: yes, jes? jesper: i forgot to pick up my dry cleaning!
hey there LGBTQ kids who are also Christian/Jewish! If you feel like you’re disobeying God, questioning your faith, or feel wrong and dirty for loving who you love, there’s this fantastic site I found today called hoperemains that accurately and thoroughly combs through scripture and its (many) mistranslations, validates your orientation, and basically let’s you know that you’re not pissing off God. It’s insanely thorough and after reading through every page on the entire site it’s super helpful. Go check it out!
kaz: oh, i thought we weren’t talking
jesper: we’re not.
kaz: then why do i hear words coming out of that stupid hole in your face?
jesper: i’m a human being and i’m entitled to my emotions
kaz: are you crying?
jesper: *wiping away a tear* no
kaz: are you seriously crying, jesper?
jesper: i’m not crying
The number of people focusing on namor x shuri (which i personally find disgusting, she's a 20 year old girl, and he's a 500+ year old god who(spoilers) killed her mom, and no one would have shipped this if he hadn't been played by someone attractive), instead of the absolutely beautiful storytelling of Wakanda Forever, is pissing me off.
Spoiler free review: This movie handled grief so beautifully, and so realisticly. It was a female led, female driven movie, but never had a single moment of "Girl Power". Riri Williams was hilarious and I loved her and shuris dynamic. AND SHURI!!! The person people are ignoring for the fish man!!! She was so real, raw and powerful. I love that they didn't turn her into T'challa, she was very much her own person, and Letitia Wright deserves an Oscar. The acting was absolutely incredible and I cried three times in the theater. The story was beautiful, and I loved that they never used a body double or a voice over of Chadwick talking. They respected his memory in such a beautiful, calm way, and you felt his presence and influence in the movie. Absolutely brilliant, gorgeous movie, and one of the best in the MCU in my opinion.
i stopped watching house of the dragon bc i felt like something (jaime and brienne) was missing :/
wylan: you don’t see me saying anything crazy about kaz and inej’s weird, little relationship!
kaz and inej, in unison: they’re just jealous…
@ the good omens vs spn fandom war happening on my dash rn. pleaseeee all of you go touch grass. please go wallow in dirt and weeds and come back refreshed in a week, because the things i am reading with my own two eyes are Insane.
the disrespect you all are showing to ace/arospec people in these posts is absolutely astounding.
friendship and romance aren't cut and dry. they aren't opposites, nor are they exclusive. there are so many ways to have healthy romantic relationships-- not even to mention the myriad of queer-platonic combinations! just because *your* experience of romance (queer or otherwise) is centered around physicality doesn't mean it's like that for everyone else.
frankly, it's quite insulting to finally find an aro/ace safe space (like the good omens fandom has been for me and many others) and be bullied out because of... the author's tweets? a second season announcement?
a note for us hellers: we should know better by now than to expect perfection from authors. we shouldn't excuse homophobia, but... that's... not what's going on here.
good omens is a stunning tribute to the happy ending: love triumphs over evil, fate, capitalism, and a whole lot of really annoying paperwork.
art is for interpretation. that interpretation doesn't have to be queer.
the beauty of good omens is that it's a story for everyone. that's part of the reason the fandom's been active for over 30 years! it's an excellent queer allegory, for sure. but you're allowed to have other opinions. that's what fandoms are for.
i would argue that good omens is explicitly queer. i read crowley and aziraphale as queer-platonic life partners. and frankly, i find their relationship so much more fulfilling than many other canonically queer canons i've seen. they're treated with respect in canon. their love literally saves the world.
yeah, they don't kiss. but consider the large part of the lgbtqia community you're leaving out if you exclude arospec and acespec people from this discussion.
by saying good omens is a queerbait, you're saying aromantic and asexual people don't belong in the queer community.
idc how many times i have to say this, but good omens was and is not a queerbait. the future remains to be seen, of course, but i (personally) have faith in everyone involved and neil gaiman to do these characters and their world justice.
look to sherlock, merlin and supernatural if you want to watch queer-coded and canonically gay characters be exploited and killed for little more than a longing glance.
aromantic and asexual people have a hard enough time being embraced as it is. please think about the message you want to send before you post. thanks.
tl;dr y'all talk about wanting nuanced queer and arospec representation until you get it.
wylan: why are you always in such a foul mood?
kaz: experience.
