So anakin teaches Cody how to carve wood and Cody makes the engagement ring lojack for obi wan, but he doesnt stop there.

He makes a bead earring for rex with a tiny piece of beskar in it and his little brother almost cries.

He makes viking bracelets for his batchmates and they all wear them proudly, even displaying them for pictures.

He makes a carved amulet for ashoka's headband with the togruta symbol for resilience. She wears it always.

He makes a pendant for anakin with twin suns in it and angel wings, and the kid hugs him for ten minutes.

Everyone is amazed and touched by these gifts. Cody feels proud of them

He puts trackers in every single one.

Cody: *poking Obi-Wan in the cheek till he wakes up* Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan: *sleepy and confused* What?

Cody: Why is your child in bed with us?

Obi-Wan: *peeks over Cody’s back to see Anakin spooning Cody, and even further back, Reva starfished with one leg thrown over Anakin’s side* Children. They’re both here.

Cody: *growly because being the little spoon gives him cooties* why are they here?

Obi-Wan: Anakin gets cold. Reva is a pack creature.

Cody: I hate this.

Obi-Wan: *cuddles back into Cody’s neck and starting to fall asleep again* It’s okay, it means they trust you.

Cody: …how dare you make me feel this emotion. I’ll kill everyone for this.

Obi-Wan: Okay. Love you.

In looking back, I have mixed feelings about that last Mace Windu one, because while it's somewhat relevant to his character in the sense that he IS extremely powerful fighter, I also feel like it also veers too much into the "Angry Black Person" stereotype/trope, &/or that it is pulling too much from other memorable characters of Samuel L. Jackson's, not from the personality of Mace Windu himself.

I'm on the fence whether I should remove it from the post or just leave it there, so I'm just going to leave these remarks, and also drop the link to a really good post I saw a few days ago, discussing Mace Windu’s character in the fandom, I highly recommend checking it out:

Cody had known of course, intellectually, that Force users were highly valued to bounty hunters and slavers, it was just something taught to command train vode.

He finds that knowing something intellectually and seeing the scars across his General’s neck and chest, his spine and belly, are so different he can barely breathe past his clenched teeth. His men will know, Rex will know, how to protect their Jedi, how to protect Commander Tano.

If the scum of the galaxy already said “kill the Master before going after the Padawan” so easily, it had nothing on what Cody and his brothers would do if they came anywhere near their aliit.

CLONES STOMPING ON CRUNCHY LEAVES FOR THE FIRST TIME

on his first r&r to coruscant, cody abducts fox and takes him to the botanical gardens because he knows that his vod’ika won’t have stomped on a leaf and that simply cannot be borne for a second longer

(fox schedules patrols to cycle all of the guard through the gardens. big security risk, those leaves. gotta stomp ‘em.)

“They glossed over ezra finding out how the war ended” I wanna know who had to tell Thrawn that not only did the Death Star get destroyed exactly how he said it would, but the empire turned around and built another one that got blown up again
