Chapter 2. Jasper
Mitsuko had spent most of the weekend at home, both comforting and receiving comfort from her family. She’d also spent time with Riley’s parents, doing the same as she did for Charlie only a couple months ago. She even helped them with the missing posters.
Her friends had messaged to check on her after she’d left school early; she’d decided to be honest with them. In their friend group chat, she’d informed them about Riley and was thankful for the support they showed her. They also told her about how Edward had taken Bella out of town, explaining her lack of response in the chat.
By Sunday, she’d given herself enough time to comprehend the situation. Yet her dreams grew worse night by night. It was the same every time: blood was everywhere, upturned or smashed cars covered the car park, and people kept screaming. She saw figures clawing at each other, tearing them apart before throwing them into fires.
A particular shriek always shocked her awake, the same pitch every time, and Monday was no different. Her eyes flashed open in fear, and she quickly sat up, her pink floral duvet gathering by her legs. Bringing her hands to her face, she wiped the sleep from her eyes and moved the hair from her face.
‘Shit’ she thought as she looked to her bedside alarm clock; she’d woken up late. She scrambled out of bed to her vanity table, quickly putting on her everyday makeup and brushing her hair out.
After she was dressed in a simple white skirt and floral blouse, she made her way downstairs. She greeted her mom brightly and graciously accepted the piece of toast offered to her. Hoshiko was already sitting at the table eating a bowl of porridge, lifting her head to smile as her sister took the seat opposite.
They ate breakfast quickly and made sure to clear up their dishes after they ate. Hoshiko raced out of the house with a simple “Hurry up, we’re already late” before hopping into the passenger seat of the Mitsuko’s Mini. The drive to school was full of simple chatter and a mixture of pop and alternative music, a demand made by Hoshiko last year.
Hoshiko was busy telling Mitsuko about her classes for next year when they’d pulled up to school. The sisters parked next to Ben’s car, stepping out to greet their friends.
“Yo Suki, who do you think would win?” Mike immediately asked her instead of a greeting.
“What are you talking about?” She asked confusedly before turning towards where Mike then pointed, “Is that?“
“Edward and Jacob Black? Yep, I don’t know what they’re fighting about, but it seems pretty tense.” Jessica interrupted before she could finish.
Jacob's voice began to elevate as he got angrier, alarmed that her friend was close to a possible fight. Mitsuko stepped forward to try and intervene but was stopped by a strong grip on her wrist. Gasping at the sudden touch, she turned around, only to come face to face with Jasper Hale.
His face was stern and almost worried; brows furrowed, and he stared at her before speaking, "Don't; they know better than to get physical.”
“How do you know that?” She replied back, feeling confused again.
“Just trust me.” He smirked at her, causing a blush to spread across her cheeks.
“If you say so,” she conceded, pausing before continuing. “You have English first, don’t you?”
He didn’t speak, only nodding in reply. “Do you think I could walk with you? We’re in that class together.”
“I know.” Jasper spoke up. “And I don’t mind.” She smiled shyly at his response before gesturing for him to take the lead. It was only as they began walking that she realised Jasper hadn’t let go of her wrist the whole time they were talking, only letting go once she turned away from Edward and Jacob.
His touch returned as she walked up the front steps, a single hand placed on the small of her back to steady her as she walked. Jasper held the main doors open, which allowed her to step inside. It was then Mitsuko built up the courage to say what she’d been wanting to say to him since Friday. “Thank you, by the way.”
His steps faulted slightly as he turned to her, “What for?”
“It’s stupid,” she shook her head, “but on Friday you really helped me ground me, so thank you.”
“It’s not stupid, but you don’t need to thank me.” Jasper looked at Mitsuko deeply as he spoke. She had seen the Cullens eyes before, but Jasper’s seemed so much more intense than the others. It was like she could stare into the pools of amber all day.
‘You barely know him,’ she remained herself, unsure where these sudden feelings came from. Ever since Friday she’d felt a subtle itch under her skin as if her body was craving something; it only faded when she’d seen Jasper’s face.
Ignoring her rapid thoughts, she continued to walk next to Jasper down the corridor. Eventually, the pair arrived outside her English class. Stepping in, she noticed that her seat partner was absent today. Sighing, she sat down and prepared herself for a quiet class.
When she crouched to place her bag under her chair, she nearly jumped when she stood and found Jasper now sitting in the chair next to hers.
“You don’t mind if I sit here, do you?” He asked, looking intently.
“Not at all.” Mitsuko replied, smiling softly at him. They sat quietly next to each other while their teacher loaded up the movie on the monitor. As soon as he hit play, Jasper turned to her and whispered softly.
“How are you feeling?”
“Better than Friday, but I’ve been struggling with those episodes for a while, so I’m used to it.” There was something about Jasper that put her at ease; she couldn’t help but tell the truth.
“What exactly happened to you, if you don’t mind me asking?” He continued to whisper; neither was even attempting to watch the movie. Mitsuko hesitated slightly before answering.
“I get these... hallucinations sometimes,” she explained. “It’s not often, but when they happen, they tend to overwhelm me.”
“How do you deal with them?” Jasper asked, genuinely curious.
“Mostly medication, but it doesn’t work as well as it used to.” Mitsuko answered truthfully, and Jasper listened intently, his face full of concern. “I’ve kind of had a hard week.”
"Oh, do you want to… talk about it?”
“It’s…” She paused as a shot of grief ran through her. “My friend Riley Biers went missing in Seattle almost a year ago, and I’ve only just found out.”
“I’m sorry that happened.”
“I just wish I’d known sooner, you know?” Mitsuko explained, to which Jasper nodded in understanding, “Maybe I could’ve done something.”
Jasper lent towards her, cautiously placing his hands on her. She shivered under his cold touch but didn’t pull away. “Don’t do that to yourself; you have nothing to feel guilty about.”
“I don’t feel guilty.” She tried to state it firmly, but she knew it was a lie.
He smiled slightly. “Hate to break it to you, darling, but you wear your heart on your sleeve.”
She blushed and looked down at their hands were connected, noticing how he was softly stroking the back of her right hand. They sat there in silence for the rest of the lesson, just enjoying the comfort they felt from each other.
When the bell rang and the rest of the class began to stand, their hands finally separated. Jasper stood first, grabbing Mitsuko’s bag before grabbing his things as well. She smiled brightly as he helped her put the bag on her right shoulder before following him out of the room.
They walked side by side down the corridor, earning some strange looks from the other students. Yet the dark-haired girl paid them no mind and simply kept walking.
"You know," Jasper started, "people are staring at us."
Mitsuko simply smiled at him before replying, “Just ignore them; they have nothing better to do.”
He glanced over to her again, studying her profile as they walked. "You never get bothered by people watching you?"
“Of course I do, but if I let it affect me all the time, I'd never go anywhere.” She explained matter of factly before continuing, “You know they’re probably only staring at you.”
“Me?”
The dark-haired girl looked at him with an amused expression. "Yeah, we’ve never hung out before, and now here you are escorting me down the hallways like a boyfriend does.” but before he could respond, she continued, "Not that I mind."
"Well, my apologies," he replied with a smirk, his southern twang coming out slightly. "Maybe I just realised you were someone worth paying attention to."
“Thank you.” She blushed slightly but played it off once she realised that they’d arrived outside my classroom. "Well, this is my class; thanks for escorting me here.”
“Anytime Ma’am.” The blonde replied, dipping his head slightly in a small bow.
With a bright smile, she made her way into the class, but not before giving Jasper a small wave goodbye. For the rest of the day, Mitsuko had an extra pep in her step but also couldn’t stop thinking about Jasper.
As much as she enjoyed his company, she was confused. Ever since the Cullens returned from wherever they had disappeared, Jasper had suddenly become very interested in her, and she’d definitely noticed.
At lunch it was the same as always, the group laughing together except with a new addition. Jasper had taken the seat next to Mitsuko again, listening intently as she joked with her friends, and gently placed his hand on her back again, following the same circle motions he used yesterday. She couldn’t help but lean into the touch, feeling wave after wave of comfort and contentment.
“So Jasper,” Jessica spoke up, causing him to finally look away from the girl next to him. “Will you be there at the graduation party?”
“Um, yeah, I’m sure Alice will find a way to make me come,” he answered a little awkwardly.
Angela looked at Jessica with a bemused expression. “You know it’s happening at his house, right?”
“Well, yeah, I was just wondering; he usually keeps to himself,” she responded before trying to Jasper, “no offence though.”
“None taken.” He replied politely with a small nod.
Hoping to diffuse the tension, Mitsuko turned to the blonde and smiled at him, “It’ll be nice to see you there.”
Jasper relaxed visibly when Mitsuko spoke up. It was clear he had been feeling a bit tense from the conversation with Jessica, but her words put him at ease.
"Yeah," he agreed with a small smile. "It will be nice to see you too.”
After Jasper spoke, the bell rung, so everyone began making their way out of the cafeteria and to the next classes. Jasper again took on the duty of escorting Mitsuko to her next class. The pair walked in silence until they stopped in front of her classroom.
“We probably won’t see each other after this.” She began, “I have a committee meeting after school, but I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Yes, of course.” He nodded, “I will see you tomorrow.”
The two shared a smile, both excited for tomorrow but especially the party next week.
Hana: I learned some very valuable lessons from this. Hotch: I’m guessing they are all horrible distortions on the lessons you actually should’ve taken away. Hana: Death isn’t real, and I’m basically God.
Ancient Princess | The Witcher
Back to Masterlist.
Sulking along the path, Jaskier stumbles something he thought he'd never find.
Jaskier had been travelling alone for the past few months, he was unaware how far Oxenfurt actually was from Caingorn yet he was all to happy to leave it behind.
'If life could give me one blessing'
The memory still stung Jaskier, and he tried to cope the only way a bard knows how. At first his writing was sad, full of self pity and loneliness, until one day it shifted. Soon Jaksier's writing turned angry as it he realised; nothing was his fault. Geralt was the one who made the fucking wish to the Djinn, he was the one who thought the law of surprise was a good fucking idea. Who was he to blame Jaskier for his own stupid ideas.
He tried to put Geralt behind him but like an itch, the more he tried to ignore, the stronger the thoughts and memories returned. Somehow that emotionally constipated 'White Wolf' has burrowed his way deep into Jaskier's heart, not that he'd ever know.
So, as he spent his days repeating this vicious cycle of anger and misery he blindly followed the path, having lost his map days before. He didn't recognise where he was and the never ending forest didn't help his already poor sense of direction. He knew he was near the coast, the smell of sea salt lingered in the air around him. If he was by the coast, Jaskier thought, Then surely he was near at least a small fishing village. Maybe the locals will be welcoming enough. He walked for the next few hours hoping for any sign of civilisation and yet; the forest never ended. By the third hour Jaskier was half convinced he was walking in circles and ready to simply accept his fate of dying in the woods either from starvation or of whatever creatures lurked just as hungry as he was. However, Just as he was ready to give up his eyes caught something in the near distance.
A grand white marble arch, it stood tall over the path Jaskier was following, as he approached he noticed how it was covered from the top to the bottom in vines and leaves with bright coloured flowers growing in between. The path continued beyond this arch, leading towards a larger arch this time connected between two equally towering walls slightly hidden behind the bushes and trees of the forest. As Jaskier walked closer towards the second arch he was able to see what was beyond it; a city.
The city was larger, perhaps even larger than some of the continents major cities like Cintra. Furthermore, despite being at least a few centuries old this abandoned city showed no sign of damage to any of its marble buildings or sculptures. In fact the only indication of a long passage of time was the vast amount of vines and shrubbery that grown to cover majority of this city. Flowers had begun to grow between the cracks of the paths, creating a ethereal atmosphere to the entire city. Jaskier wandered around the city in awe, based on his previous studies he could deduce that this place was likely an ancient elven kingdom, but this confused him. Surely if this was in fact an elven kingdom especially of this size, the humans would have long since taken claim during their conquest of the continent. He was even further confused by the signs he saw, although he knew elder speech there were words inscribed that seemed completely alien to him. Perhaps this city predated even the elves.
As the sun began to set Jaskier had eventually made his way to the centre of the city, in which at the top of a tall staircase a grand castle stood tall above the entirety of the city. It was the most beautiful castle he had ever laid his eyes on. Similar the other structures of the city, the castle was made of pure white marble yet it had also been decorated with gold decals and several striking stain glass windows that displayed stunning landscapes and creatures unknown to Jaskier. Once he stepped inside he no less in awe, the marble floor was covered in beautiful dark blue rug that throughout every hallway of the castle. Artwork and Statues lined these hallways both also ingrained with small golden decals, Jaskier noticed several portraits which he presumed displayed the royal family and other aristocrats of the kingdom. Their ears in every painting were clearly elven, confirming Jaskier's theory of the cities origin.
The most breath-taking rooms, however were definitely the Entrance hall and Throne room.
The entrance hall had tall ceilings embellished with a stain glass dome as the roof supported by several engraved marble arches. There were two elegant marble staircases engraved with different depictions of animals and flowers. Like outside the vines had grown inside the castle as well and was wrapped around the bannister and draped down from the balconies on the higher floor.
Climbing the stairs towards the throne room, Jaskier continued to gaze in awe at paintings and tapestries that hung along the wall depicting ancient battles and scenes that were likely lost to history. He wondered if the library and the books within also remained intact, what lost knowledge was likely contained within those pages. Perhaps he could retell the stories one day through song.
The throne room was located in the centre of the castle and was a large expansive hall that echoed even the smallest of sound. Golden suits of armour lined the walls between the engraved marble columns that stretched from floor to ceiling. Banners that matched the dark blue rugs hung from arches and displayed a golden crest that appeared to be a stag with flowers hanging from its antlers. In the centre of the back wall, the throne was placed on a small platform that allowed whomever sat there to tower over those below them. It was made of pure gold and was cushioned with blue fabric. The golden frame had carvings of flowers and vines and several depictions of various woodland animals. Above the seat, on the throne's headboard was a detailed engraving of a stag's head with a stone in the centre of it forehead that reflected light and appeared to change colours.
There was a moment where Jaskier had a small temptation to take a seat on the throne, however he quickly removed the thought from his mind. If it was an elven city its final day could not have been a pretty sight and the people didn't need another human forced themselves on their throne.
Instead Jaskier made his way down from the throne room towards the servants quarters, he figured there would be a suitable bed he could spend at least spend the night on.
The servants quarters were also in impossibly well preserved condition, no rats scurried along the floor and there was of the cold chill that most servant quarters had. The kitchen was as beautiful as the rest of the castle, the counters made from the same white marble with flecks of gold mixed throughout the hard surface. Dried herbs and flowers hung across the ceilings ready to added whatever would be cooked. With increased curiosity, Jaskier opened a cupboard door to find a whole storage room filled with breads and vegetables in perfect condition. The preservation was still remarkable to Jaskier even after searching the entirety of this kingdom.
Soon Jaskier made his way out of the kitchen to find a long corridor aligned with several different doors that each led to a different room. Yet instead he chose to make his way further down the corridor where he spotted an ornate silver door, standing out amount the other plain wooden doors. It took around five minutes for Jaskier to reach the mysterious door at the end of the corridor, at which point he was able to fully appreciate its details. Engravings of flowers surrounding a single stag echoed that of the throne's own engraving. Gently, he pushed on the door and discovered it to be unlocked as it slowly creaked open. He made his way through the now open door to discover that behind it was some kind of mausoleum.
Unlike the rest of the elven kingdom this hidden mausoleum showed signs of erosion and aging. The once porcelain white marble had become a dull grey, and along the eastern wall the detailed etchings had become blurred and whatever image was once there could no longer be clearly seen.
In the centre of the room was a glass case, it was incredibly ornate with gold lining the edges of the box. The glass was almost crystal clear which allowed Jaskier to see exactly what was inside the case, shocking him greatly. Lying softly on a plush green cushion was a young elven girl. She was dressed in a simple white gown that draped against her figure, her brow hair had been carefully brushed free of any knots and imperfections and was braided in parts to delicately frame her soft features, and finally placed atop her head was small and delicate golden crown. Additionally across her most of her body except her face, were several white tattoos which appeared to join together as whole. Jaskier had never seen designs like this before and presumed it must have cultural significance for the ancient elves.
Despite this, what shocked Jaskier most all was, as he approached the case he noticed that her chest was rising and falling. Meaning she was still breathing; she was alive.
Jaskier continued to slowly approaches the glass case containing the mysterious young elf. As he reached closer and closer he felt compelled to reach his hand forward and touch the glass casing. When he placed his hand on the case he noticed his hand began feeling a rapid warmth that spread from his palm to throughout his body. When he look down he noticed that his hands had begun to glow, he tried to pull his hand away but found he couldn't.
Suddenly the glass case shattered around him, and after a moment the young elf's eyes opened.

An Elven Princess awakens and Jaskier handles it surprisingly well.
Her eyes were golden, not the bright and strong eyes of Witchers, they were soft and seemed more natural. For a moment, all Jaskier could do was stare into her eyes, still shocked by what had just happened moments prior. It wasn't until she began to speak that he was able to snap out of his shock.
'Shi Va? Sharti nha salen o'su?"
She was speaking in an ancient form of elder speech that Jaskier only had limited understanding of, leaving him unsure on how to respond. Seemingly noticing his confusion the young elf tilted her head slightly, before holding her hand out in front of her while muttering.
"Yewl tel'quiet van shou."
Somehow Jaskier was able to understand her request and placed his hand on hers, allowing her to gently clutch it. She then began to utter more of the ancient language, it appeared to be some type of spell as He felt the familiar warm ripple of magic flow from his palm through his whole body. He noticed a brief glow within her golden eyes as she finished the spell and released his hand.
"Apologies, I hope you can understand me now?" She suddenly spoke in perfect common speech.
"What just happened? He asked in amazement, "How did you do that?"
She smiled softly before replying, "It's a simple spell really. It allows me to learn whatever language the person I'm touching uses most."
"Never heard of that spell before."
"Really?" She tilted her head again in confusion, "Even the most beginner mages in the kingdom can do that spell."
It was in that moment, as she stared at him in curiosity, she noticed he was different than the average elf. Most notably she noticed his ears which seemed to curve at the top rather than pointing upwards like hers did.
"Who are you? Your ears are very peculiar."
"You may call me Jaskier, Travelling Bard." He replied paired with his standard performer's bow. "I'm a human, so my ears aren't pointed like yours."
"What is human?"
"Well it’s another species, very different from elves."
"But we don't look that different?" She queried further.
"Well others would say otherwise." Jaskier muttered with a slightly bitter laugh.
After his little remark there was a small pause as she took in this new information, before she softly nodded her head in understanding.
"I see, well it’s nice to meet you Jaskier my name is Nim, daughter of King Faladinn of Muire Dol."
"So that's what this place is called?" He questioned as he took another glace around the hidden room.
"Yes," Nim confirmed as her eyes began to show a deeper understanding of the situation, she took a deep breath before asking, "I'm not sure how long I've been sleeping but it must have been quite a long time, correct?"
"I believe so Princess, at least over a thousand years I can say for certain."
With a small sad smile she replied, "I don't think I'm really a princess anymore."
"Well you have a crown and a palace, which to my knowledge are the main requirements for being a princess." Jaskier winked and grinned brightly at Nim, who began to laugh in response.
Sitting up, Nim adjusted herself to the edge of the platform previously covered by the glass casing. Slowly she stepped down and attempted to stand, only to stumble forward. Before she was close to hitting the floor, Jaskier quickly reached forward and caught her by her arms.
"Are you okay?" He asked, pulling her up while giving her a once over and making sure to hold her firmly.
"Yeah, just been a while since I've stood I suppose."
"Just take your time, I hold onto you as long as you need me to."
While gently holding onto Jaskier, Nim slowly made her way out of the mausoleum. As they made their way through the servant's quarters and into the main halls of the palace, Nim stared in awe. She had never seen the palace halls so empty before; so quiet.
Everything was so raw for her, even though she had slept for over a thousand years it only felt like an overnight sleep. She remembers everything, remembers the panic throughout the castle as she was pulled from the throne room and down into the cold, dark mausoleum. She remembers being told to lie down and the next moment she opened her eyes to a face with a pair of soft periwinkle eyes.
"I think if we're going to travel together we'll need to find you a change of clothes," Jaskier spoke, interrupting her thoughts. "That is of course if you'd like to join me, I didn't mean to presume.
For a moment in panic, he slightly loosened his grip on Nim. He shouldn't have presumed like that, She was a princess why would she want to travel with him? Thoughts of self-doubt and rejection filled his mind. Yet, in response she gripped his arm tighter and pulled him closer.
"Of course I want to travel with you." She smiled at him reassuringly, "I still need to figure out why I was asleep for so long and what happened to everyone, I don't think I'll find answers here."
At Nim's words Jaskier began to relax, "Right, well princess shall we find a change of clothes for you my dear?"
"There should be something in my room, I can lead the way."
Walking through the palace halls and up a few flights of stairs, they soon came across a single white arched door at the end of an empty corridor. As they approached Jaskier noticed an intricate circular, stain glass window that appeared to look out onto a small courtyard.
"This is my room, I specifically requested the flowers to be painted on." Nim said as she pointed at the blue and yellow flowers scattered across the white surface connected by several green vines. "They're supposed to be bluebells and buttercups."
"Really? Buttercups are my favourite flower, of all time."
"Bluebells are mine." Nim mused as she reached forward and turned the golden handle before pushing the door open to reveal her room behind it.
The room is exactly how you'd picture a elven princess' room to look like. Across the wall and ceiling were gorgeous murals depicting several constellations and the night sky. Her bed laid at the centre of the back wall, it was made out of pure white wood which had been delicately carved with various flowers as well as depictions of the sun, moon, and several constellations. Laid across her bed were soft midnight blue sheets to match the equally blue pillows placed along the headboard.
Jaskier let out a low whistle at the sight, "Oh what I would I pay to sleep in a place like this. No seriously I give up music- actually no I wouldn't but still you get my point."
"Let me pack a bag and we can get some rest before we leave" Nim suggested, "To be honest I'm suddenly feeling quite tired myself and it's nightfall now." She then walked towards a large wardrobe by the eastern wall, it was made from the same white wood and had similar etchings. When Nim opened it wide, Jaskier saw a gorgeous collection of colourful and fine fabrics.
Nim began to pulling various fabrics from the wardrobe and laid them gently on the bed. Finally, she turned back to the wardrobe and reached deep into the back before pulling a simple grey travel bag. She moved back to the bed and began stuffing the different fabrics and clothing into it. Jaskier was pleased to noticed she had also packed a scarf and fur outer coat for the colder weather they may face.
"That should be everything, we should probably go rest for the night." Nim stated, before moving back to the wardrobe and pulling out what Jaskier presumed were some night clothing. "This was my brother's, I think it will fit you."
Jaskier took it gratefully, "Just tell me where I can go princess, perhaps you could show me the room."
Nim then looked down and fiddled with her hands before speaking softly, "Is it okay if you stay with me? I don't mind sharing the bed, It's big enough."
"Are you sure?"
"I don't want to be alone again." She stated plainly.
"Okay, then let me get changed and we can both get some rest." Jaskier then moves behind one of the elegant changing screens and changed into the silk, green sleeping wear. It was the most comfortable thing Jaskier had worn in years.
When he came back from behind the screen, he noticed that Nim had also changed behind the second screen and was already lying on the left side of the bed. Jaskier followed suit and tuck himself into the right side of the bed, it was then Jaskier noticed that Nim was right. There was plenty of space, in fact Jaskier was sure that even if he stretched his arm out, he still wouldn't come close to Nim. Nim blew out the light that was surprisingly still lit on her bedside table, leaving them in darkness.
"Goodnight Jaskier, thank you for waking me up." Nim muttered into the darkness.
"Goodnight Nim," Jaskier replied in kind, "I should say thank you for letting me sleep in this bed, feels like it’s made of cloud."
They both laughed softly at his little quip, before they both drifted of to sleep, anticipating what's to come on their journey ahead.

In which Hana goes to a job interview at the FBI which is 'totally' where an ex Assassin should work. Chapter Title: Looking at Me by Sabrina Carpenter
Hana first day was as uneventful as one could be as a BAU candidate, she'd exited the lift to what she hoped was the correct floor and approached the front desk. She was clutching the strap of her small black bag tightly in her hand.
"Hey, is this the BAU?" She asked the young woman at the front who was likely around her age.
"No this is Baskin Robbins how can I help you today" she replied not looking up from her phone.
"Well can you either get me a ice cream or point me in the right direction otherwise I can go elsewhere"
She look up at her for the first time seemingly impressed someone had actually played along with her. "Not bad, we'll get along just nice. Oh and don't worry you're in the right place. Just through those doors" she pointed towards the glass doors just to the right of the main desk.
"Perfect thank you so much..."
"Gerry"
"Thank you Gerry, I'm Hana"
"Have a good day Hana" she smiled, waving her off before glancing back down to her phone.
Hana moved away from the front desk and entered through the glass a look around the large bullpen. There were at least ten main desk scattered around the room, and on the higher platform section there were seemingly three rooms. Hana presumed these were the rooms for the section chief, supervisor and of course the conference room.
As she was looking around Hana was soon approached by a tall man who was well dressed in a simple smart suit, his badge on display showed the named A. Hotchner; Unit chief.
"Can I help you?"
"Are you SSA Hotchner?"
"I am, and you are?"
"Oh okay, well I'm Hana Fedorov one of the new candidates ... I got an email saying I have a interview today"
"Of course thank you for coming, but I must let you know that we're currently on a case so it may be a long interview process."
"Not to worry sir, I'm known for my patience." Hana replied to the imposing man. Aaron was younger then she'd pictured, but was definitely someone of authority. He had a simple but smart haircut alongside a clean shaven face, and his wardrobe were all clearly a way to subconsciously make others know he was in control.
She subconsciously shook her head in order to stop herself from profiling further, she'd heard rumours in the academy about how the BAU wasn't all that fond on profiling their team mates; especially their bosses.
"So erm where should I wait?"
"Just outside are some seats, the other candidates should be there as-well" Hotchner said before pointing towards the glass entrance doors.
"Ok, thanks" she smiled brightly at the tall man before making her way out the doors he had pointed to. She immediately saw the line of candidates either sat or standing down the hallway, and as much as she'd deny it; Hana was a little intimidated. These people were older than she was by a significant amount in terms of experience both in life and on the field. In reality she had just as much experience too but she couldn't tell anyone what that experience is let alone the FBI.
Taking a deep breath as her father taught her, she stepped down the hallway and found a spare seat next to another woman. She took another deep breath, once she sat and placed her bag down in front of her legs.
"Nervous?" The woman next to her asked, causing Hana to turn towards her before answering.
"Just a little, I think I'm youngest one here..." She joked as she scanned.
"I'm just glad I'm not the oldest",at this both women turned to look at each other smiling softly, before falling into quiet laughs. "I'm Tara by the way"
"Nice to meet you, I'm Hana"
"Hmm both double a, sounds like fate"
"Maybe I'm not a huge believer in that"
"Well either way, I should get your number in case we never see each other after this. You seem a lot of fun"
"I'd like that", It was shame the BAU was one looking for one spot, it would've been nice for Hana and Tara to be teammates.
At that moment, Agent Hotchner came back out from the bullpen and approached the group again. "Can I have everyone's attention, please."
Everyone, including Hana and Tara, promptly turned their full attention towards the imposing figure stood by the glass doors.
"The BAU is working an active case, so this interview process may take some time." He explained before continuing, "Does anyone need to return to their field office?"
After that majority of the group either shook their head or verbally responded no. Pleased with this response Hotchner turned towards Tara, "Good. Dr. Lewis, we'll start with you."
At this Tara quickly stood before she responded a simple "Absolutely." and moved to follow him through the glass doors, but not before turning back to Hana and waving bye.
After Tara left spent the next thirty minutes in the same seat reading through her past few messages on her phone. Most were from either her phone provider or random promotional offers that she opted to ignore. The one that she focused on was a message from a unknown number, likely from a burner phone. It simply read 'Been missing the Black Lion, are you ever coming back to play?' and Hana knew exactly who it had come from.
She had no intention of returning to her past she hadn't done a job since she was 17 and that was almost 8 years ago. After she'd been brought in and given a second chance, how could she throw it all away for people she hadn't seen in years. Also, those were the worst fucking years of her life. So fuck that.
With a sigh, Hana made the decision to quickly block the number and close her messages. Opting instead to play one of the random games she had on her phone, it wasn't very productive but it would at least pass the time and relax her.
Eventually she saw Tara come back through and make her way back over. "Hey!"
"Hey, how it go?"
"I think it went well. He said I had a good amount of experience"
Fuck.
"Oh really? That's sounds good"
There's no way Hana was getting this job.
"Yeah but who knows I was the first one interviewed anything can happen." She smiled softly at Hana. It was clear she was doing this to make her feel better but Hana knew that Tara was incredibly happy with how her interview went.
"Agent Fedorov" She quickly moved her head towards Hotchner at the end of the hall who had called her name. "You're next, if you'd just follow me"
"Okay... sure" Hana stood to follow him making sure she didn't leave anything behind. As she walked through the bullpen she noticed it was full of activity with people moving between the desks and speaking rapidly to each other. Whatever case the BAU were on was high profile that much was clear.
When Hotchner approached the door to his office he held the door open for her. As she stepped in first she couldn't help but analyse the room and in turn the man was interviewing her. The office was incredibly well kept and clearly belonged to someone in control, but there was also a single frame on the desk that although facing away from her, was clearly some form of family photo so he wasn't a complete robot.
"You can take a seat" He began as he took his own seat behind the desk. Once Hana a took one of the chairs opposite he continued, "I must say first of all you're not like the other candidates we have lined up"
"Young?"
"Yes but also, your past history is curious" He flipped open a file that was on his desk. "It seems there's no record of you before age 17. Why is that?"
Hana wondered if this how suspects felt in the interrogation room. "I was living in Russia for the first 16 years of my life, I was taken to the US after escaping a pretty bad situation."
"Do you have any records of your time Russia?"
"My father was off the grid, he hated the government so he refused to be on record" She let out a sigh before continuing, "It also meant he didn't want me on record. I mean I was homeschooled for most of my life"
"Well considering I must say I'm impressed by what you've achieved since." He flipped to another page as he continued, "You graduated at the top of your class at the academy and is currently one of our youngest agents active in the field"
"I was told to aim for greatness"
"Well with these credentials you could go on to do great things, so why join the BAU?"
Hana clenched her fists tightly as she thought of an answer, "I've seen a lot of bad things happen so I'm not ignorant to the type of people you guys deal with, and I wanna help be the reason those types are put away for good"
"You think you have what it takes? This job can be hard for most, let alone someone fresh from the academy"
"I know I do." She steeled her face making sure to show how serious she was, she could see that he was watching her carefully trying form some type of profile.
Yet before he could continue someone knocks on the door before entering. "We're ready to deliver the profile"
"Thanks, We'll be right there Rossi" Agent Rossi nodded before heading back out into the bullpen. "I want you to hear the profile too, all the candidates actually"
"Okay" Hana stood and followed Hotchner out into the main bullpen where she could all the other candidates crowded round the BAU as they stood waiting for the pair to join them. After spotting Tara in the crowd, Hana quickly made her way over and stood next to her. As she found her place Agent Morgan began the briefing
"The unsub that we're looking for is a contract killer who is doubling back to kill his former customers."
Fuck.
"This man is highly skilled and well-trained." continued Morgan "Under no circumstances should he be engaged without back-up."
"So is this a case of organised crime tying up loose ends?" Tara questioned bringing Hana's attention back to the room instead of the ringing in her ear.
"Organised crime's got nothing to do with this,
At least not in the traditional sense. " Agent Rossi answered before Dr Reid continued.
"In 2013, the bureau took down the silk road network " Hana had heard of this, the dark web was almost unusable during those months. Most people like her had to kick it old school. "Our initial assumption was that it was an encrypted online market for illegal drugs, which it was, but upon further inspection, we were stunned at the breadth of goods and services being traded online. Weapons, child porn, even hit men."
Hotchner then chimed in, "And the payment scheme was escrow based, in which the buyer would put down half as a deposit and the other half when the seller delivered."
By this point Hana was going through head of all her previous 'acquaintances', immediately striking off anyone she knew was either dead or incarcerated.
"We've now confirmed that all 3 victims hired the unsub over the past year through a similar escrow system."
"So why is he killing his old clients?"
"Hit men don't leave a message unless you pay them to." Rossi answered quickly, "The exception is to leave a warning for customers or competitors."
"This unsub suffered some sort of injury to his jaw or voice, most likely as a result of something these customers did. The pulcinella mask is his statement on revenge and justice" Dr Reid continued once again, Hana was impressed with how rapid fire and precise these guys were giving this profile.
"Betray the oath between customer and contractor and you pay the price. Now, normally a man with this kind of defect would attract attention." Reid continued to explain "The fact that he hasn't indicates that he has deep pockets and a network of resources at his disposal."
"Share this profile with your local divisions and with law enforcement." Hotch ended the briefing speaking directly to everyone in the room. "Search for escrow payments to match the unsub to his clients. One of those clients will be his next target."
At that everyone dispersed in various directions, while Hana followed quickly behind Hotchner as he made his way back to his office.

Hana didn’t think a link to her past would come up so quickly. Now, she’ll have to address her past with her potential boss in order to help solve the case. I mean how exactly do you tell your ‘not quite’ boss you used be an assassin? Chapter Title: Night Crawling by Miley Cyrus ft Billy Idol
Hotcher's was busy reading through his files for the other interview candidates, when Hana Fedorov swung open the door and marched into the room.
"Agent Fedorov we finished your interview already, I also don't appreciate you barging into my office" Hotchner chastised as he looked up.
"Giuseppe Montolo"
"Excuse me?"
"Your unsub is Giuseppe Montolo" Hana stated plainly.
"What do you mean?"
"He's been betrayed before." Hana explained before continuing, "What your unsub is doing is exactly what he did to the last contract that tried to double cross him"
At this point had Hana had taken the same seat in front Hotchner she had during the interview. "Montolo's also the only one who'd know anything about a fucking pullycella, or whatever that dude called it."
"He told you?"
"We know each other," She finally admitted, "Suppose you could call us ex colleagues."
At this point, it was clear that she had Hotchner's full attention, he'd closed the file he was looking through and his eyes were solely focused on her. "This wasn't in your file Fedorov."
"It wouldn't be, I was a minor the record was sealed."
"And what would that record say?" He leant forward, and Hana realised this conversation had shifted; she was being interrogated. She figured it'd be easier for to tell the truth by this point.
"The Black Lion." She answered immediately.
"I presume this is what was happening in Russia?"
Hana nodded.
"My father is Grisha Fedorov."
Hotchner couldn't control his expression at that, his eyebrows shifted slightly up in surprise. Which was to be predicted, Hana had just told him she was raised by a man on the FBI's most wanted list.
"Follow me." His voice left no room for argument.
So, she followed the imposing man into the bullpen where the other team members were waiting, Morgan and Reid were on speaker phone as they had just finished saving another potential victim. Hana caught the tail ends that it involved a grenade. Montolo was getting frustrated.
After the two had entered, Hotchner pulled out his phone before dialing and placing it on speaker. "Garcia you're on speaker."
"What can my magical hands do you for you?" A feminine voice replied unperturbed by her superior's formal tone.
"What can you find on a Giuseppe Montolo?"
"I was just about to call" The voice replied, as she began to explain her own research. "Ok, so, a week ago, this guys stumbles into the Atlantic City E.R., having been shot in the jaw. Can't give them his name 'cause of the whole shot in the mouth thing."
"But his fingerprints lit up the Rome police database like a Christmas tree."
"Italian. That explains the pulcinella influence." Dr Reid chimed in from over the phone, followed by Morgan.
"Yeah. They were able to get a name Giuseppe Montolo, which by the way weird you already knew, but anyway by the time Jersey P.D. got there, Montolo had been patched up and made his escape."
"And now he's on some type of payback gig."
"He has no idea who double-crossed him, so now he's killing every customer that he suspects might have done it."
"I tried to use Al's username and password to flush out other clients, but they don't call it the Darknet for nothing."
"Might not work anyway, most clients were instructed to use internet cafes or other public computers" Hana stated simply causing those in the room to turn towards her. "Can't link the IPs to an individual."
"Who was that?!" Garcia exclaimed from the phone, curious if this who had been chosen for the team.
"Garcia." Hotchner chastised.
"Right sorry, not the time." Hana could hear the faint sounds of Garcia typing away on her keyboard.
"We'll have to catch him another way, Morgan Reid you guys keep on the scene see if he's made a mistake. Garcia, keep searching we need everything you can find on him and any potential victims." With that Hotchner ended both calls before turning to Hana.
"This isn't his MO, I've never seen Montolo do anything like this before. He's getting desperate."
"Then we need to make sure we find him."
Hotchner then quickly left the room most likely to give orders to all the bodies still working hard in the bullpen, leaving Hana standing in the conference with the other agents.
"Must say kid, you're quite young for someone who knows how to hire a hitman." The older man, Rossi stated to Hana.
"Let's just say past experience?" She replied with a slight inflection to indicate her sarcasm.
"And the reason you know our unsub." Agent Morgan queried with his arms on his hips.
"Family acquaintance."
At the agents look at her in amusement, and suspicion. Unfortunately, it was clear to Hana that her secret was not going to be possible to keep. At least not with this team. Sighing she leant against one of the chairs around the circular table before continuing.
"I'll explain to the whole team once we catch Montolo."
"I think that's a good idea kid." Rossi stated before making his way out the door, "Now let's catch this son of a bitch."
"I like how you talk Agent Rossi." Hana replied as she followed him out.
He smiled at her, "You can just call me Rossi."
"Just Rossi, got it."
The bullpen was still a flurry of movement she notice a lot of the interviewees were dotted around on phones likely speaking to all the local law enforcements possible. She noticed Hotchner speaking to small group of officers, and began to approach him.
"Sir?" He broke from the group and turned towards her, "Where do you want me to be?"
"At the moment, I want you to wait." Hotch began, "You have history with Montolo which while useful could still be a conflict of interest."
"I understand sir." Hana nodded.
"But..." He continued, "When we catch him and he’s secured in prison I may request you visit him for an interview."
"Really?! Why me?"
"You might catch him off guard." He stated before turning away and continuing to speak to the group of people from before.
So, Hana waited in the BAU for the next couple of hours and watched as the case was solved. Even Tara got involved by pretending to be someone's wife, which impressed Hana. Being a able to analyse someone's speech and copy their inflections was definitely something that she was interested learning, maybe she should ask Tara about it.
Eventually though the bullpen got the confirmation, Montolo was now in custody. In hospital, but still they’d got him. Hana could breathe a sigh of relief that at least one of them was going behind bars. She stood from the seat she’s taken and once more approached the Unit chief.
“I wanna thank you sir for listening to me, I’m glad you guys got him.” She smiled brightly at him.
“And I appreciate your input,” he replied before continuing. “Rossi also told me you plan to tell the whole team about your history but that’s not required of you.”
“I know but I realised it would probably be easier to work with people if everything was put in the open,” it was then that Hana realised she hadn’t been offered a job, “I mean if I’m still a candidate.”
“Well I offered the role we were looking to fill to Dr Lewis for her work today,” Hana nodded although still slightly disappointed. “but, I’ve convinced our Director for allow some extra budget for another agent, if that network of hitmen is still active it would be in our best interest to have someone with previous knowledge.”
“Oh my god!” She could help but shout, “I mean thank you so much sir, I make sure to work hard.”
The corner of the unit chief’s mouth raised slightly into a small smile at her burst of excitement. He gestured for the young agent to follow him and led her towards the small conference room.
“First of all I wanna say a good job to the team, the case was difficult but we got the guy and as soon as he cleared by the hospital he’ll be heading straight to a cell.” Hotchner began, “I’d also like to welcome our two newest agents Dr Lewis and Agent Fedorov, who will both be joining the team.”
“But I thought we were only adding one?” Garcia queried.
“That was the initial plan, Dr Lewis is taking the original position,” he then gestured to Hana. “I believe Agent Fedorov has some incite that will prove useful for future potential cases.”
At this the team turned towards Hana, and she took a breath before fulfilling her promise and explaining; everything.
“How many of you know Grisha Fedorov?”
Dr Reid chimed in with mini rant of information. “Grisha Fedorov born in Russia sometime in the mid 1970s, he rose to the most wanted by the FBI in the early 2000s after he was linked to the assassination of a prominent political figure in Bolivia. After that we were able to link him to a total of 78 deaths globally, but there are probably more. Also, no arrest has ever been made as he’s lived completely off the grid since the age of 23.”
For a moment Hana was silent in surprise that someone knew so much about her father.
“Don’t worry he’s like this a lot.” Agent Morgan reassured before allowing her to continue.
“Right okay,” she nodded before explained further. “He’s my father, adoptive clearly I mean I doubt a full blood Russian could ever produce a fully Korean kid. But anyway, he found me when I was 5 years old and took me under his wing, he also trained me.”
“Trained you in what exactly?” Rossi asked in suspicion.
“How to kill.” She stated plainly, “From the ages of 13 to 17 I was an active assassin for hire, my young aged allowed me to avoid suspicion. I was the best, they called me The Black Lion which is cheesy but it sounded cooler in Russian.”
She was attempting to add little jokes in her explanation to relieve the intense amount of anxiety building inside of her. If her dad had left her with anything it was the incessant need to be liked by the people close to her.
“Eventually, I was caught by Interpol. They gave me choice I could surrender and give them any information they thought useful to catch my father, or I’m charged as an adult in Russia. I obviously took the deal and they let me move to the US where I was placed with a foster family given a social security number and then the rest is history.”
“Hell of a life kiddo” Rossi stated before standing from his seat, “We’ve all got past here but it doesn’t effect out work and neither will yours”
“I have a question?” It was Dr Reid again who, to Hana’s amusement, had actually raised his hand. “If you have the full information for Grisha why was he never caught.”
“Oh he left Russia as soon he saw I got caught, no idea where is now.” She stated apathetically. “I may consider him my father but I was just a protégée to him, I’m sure he’s already found another to manipulate.”
“What do you know about the Dirty Dozen?” Morgan asked.
“It rings a bell, but all I know it was someone or a group of people that not many of the Hitmen I was acquainted with like all that much, pretty sure the Dirty Dozen is on their personal kill list.”
“Well hopefully with you on team might make things easier.”
“I hope so, I’ll help as much as I can.”
After this Hotchner stepped forward and addressed the room, “Now that’s all cleared and out in the open, I want you all to head home and relax, I’ll see you all tomorrow.”
At this everyone gathered all their things together, and made their way into the elevator and heading down to the car park. Here everyone said their goodnights before going their separate ways and each to their own vehicle, except Garcia who Hana noticed joined Morgan in his car.
She approached her car and took a moment in the driver’s seat to think. She had no idea what was going to happen next, and she couldn’t wait to find out.

Rosie's usually likes her mornings, but not this one. TW// Gun description
This morning was getting close to the worst morning Rosie Macedo has ever had.
Firstly, she had woken up to an almost flooded kitchen, from her roommate leaving the tap on when they'd left an hour ago. This meant she spent an extra ten minutes mopping the floor, not great.
Secondly, her car a parking ticket because she forgot to put her parking pass on her windscreen last night, worse. Then finally, her favourite cafe somehow ran out of coffee so they'd not opened today, the worst thing so far.
So here she found herself walking into Wayne Enterprise tired, annoyed and regretting not just calling in sick.
"Morning! You doing okay Rosie?" One of the security guards, Fred asked as she scanned her ID badge to enter.
"Oh could be better Fred, but hope you're doing better, I heard you got the flu last week." Rosie replied as she stopped to talk.
"Yeah it was rough but back to normal now thankfully."
"I'm glad." She smiled, "Anyway I gotta go but have a good day!"
Fred waved at her as she scurried to the elevator, thankfully it wasn't too full today so it was relatively peaceful ride to the top floor. As she exited the elevator she spotted a familiar, smiling face.
"Miss Rosie!" Dick, greeted her holding two cups in his hand while holding one towards her, "I brought you some coffee, how are you today?"
"Dick you are my life saver," she sighed with relief as she took a sip of the fresh coffee now in her hand. "I've been better that's for sure, how's everything today?"
"Well that's why I've stopped you," Rosie furrowed her browns in confusion, "He's got a new girlfriend."
"Already? What happened to Natalia?" Her eyes widened in surprise.
"Apparently she 'had to return to Milan' but turns out she already had another boyfriend there." Dick filled her in as they began walking to her desk.
"Wow!" She scoffed as she put her bag down to pull out her things. "Okay so give me the play by play please."
"Well she's an English heiress but from what I can tell she's the high society spoiled type, oh and she is definitely the type to complain when something doesn't got her way," Rosie groaned as Dick continued, "So I'm sure you guys are gonna get along swimmingly."
"Listen I get your Dad is like the playboy of the century but does he actually think things through before dating these women." She complained, "I mean no offence to these ladies whatsoever but he always picks the ones he is least compatible with."
It was as she finished that sentence, that the man himself opened to door to his office and approached her desk. He was dressed sharp as always in a black jumper and suit trousers combo, which he often wore when he had no high client meetings.
"And what are my favourite employees chatting about today?" He inquired leaving his side against the desk.
"Your new girlfriend." Rosie replied as bluntly as she always did with Bruce. "Your son's been filling me in."
"Has he know?" He turned to face Dick.
"Well she is your assistant thought I'd help you out by giving important updates."
"Which includes my dating life?" He questioned keeping eye contact with his son.
"Ah...well would you look at the time, I'm actually late for a super important meeting with... someone." Dick stumbled as he slowly back towards the elevator before turning into a full sprint.
"Bye Rosie!" He yelled as the doors to the elevator closed. Leaving the two staring at each other in amusement.
"What's her name then?" She questioned leaning against her side for the desk.
"Penelope Hinebridge"
"Hinebridge, like Wayne Tech's newest partnership Hinebridge?" Rosie leaned further forward to question as Bruce sighed before nodding. "I think this is the worst one you've pick yet, what happens if you breakup?"
"Hey, I'm Bruce Wayne you know, infamous playboy." He gestured to himself as he spoke.
"You and I both know that every person you've dated thinks they'll be the one to change that."
"I'm offended Macedo, I thought you believed people can change." He teased as he leaned closer towards her.
She just laughed as stared directly into his eyes before speaking, "I'm just keeping you humble, Wayne."
He chuckled quietly again while looking directly into her eyes, after sometime his eyes soften from his usual Bruce Wayne persona into a look of genuine admiration towards Rosie. Her eyes were so dark today that he could almost see his own reflection. As Bruce reached his hand to gently wipe under her eyes where Rosie's mascara had slightly stained, the door to the elevator suddenly opened causing the two quickly separate.
They turned towards whoever the new guest was, finding the smirking face Lucius Fox looking directly at the pair as he held a small stack of papers in his hand.
"Good morning, I can see you both seem in a good mood?" Mr Fox spoke as he approached the two.
Bruce cleared his throat before replying, "You know me Lucius, I always have a good day.", then he winked.
Rosie on the other hand, didn’t flinch at Mr Fox’s words, she’d already endured his teasing a hundred times over. “Good Morning Mr Fox.”
“Now now, I specifically remember telling you to simply call me Lucius.”
“You know me Lucius,” She replied smiling, “I’ve always had a memory problem.”
As Rosie spoke she tapped the side of her head twice to make her point, earning a quiet chuckle from Mr Wayne and raised eyebrow from Lucius. She laughed softly at their reactions, shaking her head slightly she stood to gather her things and held them in her arms close to her chest.
“Well gentlemen, this has been lovely,” Spoke as she walked around her desk, “but I have a meeting with the R&D department I supposed to go to on your behalf.”
She looked pointedly at Mr Wayne as she spoke the last part, causing him to narrow his eyes at her for a moment before forcing a sheepish smile, “My apologies Miss Macedo, but I was already booked out for the day as you can see.”
“I can see that Mr Wayne,” She replied as she stepped into the elevator, “Which is why I won’t be bothering today. At All”
With those last words the doors closed and the elevator moved down to the 78th floor, leaving Bruce and Lucius looking at each other in bemusement. The silence didn’t last long, broken by Lucius.
“Well she’s quite a catch,” he began, “although if rumours prove correct I hear you’re taken?”
Bruce pointed at him forcefully before speaking, eyes narrowing, “Don’t you start too.”
Lucius simply raise his eyebrow in reply, his usual go to.
“Besides, we have bigger things to worry about.” Bruce began to lead the man to his office. “Did you see the schematics I sent you.”
“Yes, I must say Damien certainly has a way with weapon design, although I do have some concerns about the lethality factor.”
With that the door closed, conversation away from prying eyes.
Down on the 78th floor, Rosie was struggling to maintain a constructive meeting with the R&D department.
“I just don’t get it Rosie,” The R&D manager spoke, “You’re with him all the time, I mean you’ve even been at his house and yet you’re quote on quote ‘not dating’”
After the manager said those words, Rosie was overwhelmed with the R&D department all speaking at the same time. She only caught parts of what each person was saying, but became very alarmed when she heard the words “Bone” and “Sexy” among the chaos.
“Okay!” Rosie hit her hand against the table to get their attention, “I don’t know how many times I have to reaffirm this, but me and Bruce Wayne are not and will not be dating, ever.”
There was a pause as the room froze to look at her, when the manager spoke up again, “See you two would be perfect for each other!” Then noise stared again with the department debating with each other about Rosie’s ‘romance’ with Mr Wayne, in front of her.
All Rosie could do was sigh and make her way out of the conference, to have a break from the meeting that was supposed to be about current market trends. Rubbing her forehead, she moved to the water fountain to pour herself a drink. As she sipped on the cold water the elevator dinged as it stopped on the 78th floor.
When it opened, Rosie was shocked at the container of the water fountain suddenly exploded with a load bang, soaking her from head to toe. A clicked forced her turn around, only to come face to face with the barrel of a familiar umbrella shaped gun.
“Sorry miss,” The man with the long, pointed nose spoke in a gravely voice, “But this floor now belongs to the Cobblepot Foundation.”
Rosie dropped her cup in shocked before raising her hands, she let Cobblepot’s goons lead her back into the conference room where other henchmen were already tying up the R&D department. As they shoved her down next to them before tying her wrists together, Rosie only had one thought.
This was definitely in the top ten of worst mornings ever.
