I recently reblogged this post and saw where someone asked for a poor people’s version, so here it is!

CLEANING

Dish soap

Laundry detergent

All-purpose cleaner

Hand soap you can use your dish soap

Broom

Mop

Wash cloths / rags

Vacuum not necessary if you don’t have carpet or you can just sweep the carpet

Dustpan

Lint roller have pets? Not really necessary if you don’t, if you’re in a crunch, use any tape

Sponges you can use your rags and a little elbow grease

KITCHENWARE

Plates

Bowls

Spoons

Forks

Knives

Glasses

Mugs you need two different types of drinking glasses? Nah.

Tongs you aren’t running a restaurant

Spatula

Plastic wrap never used this in my life

Ziplock baggies I’m sure you have tupperware

Garbage bags

Paper towel just use an actual rag

Tupperware

Ice tray

Oven mitts

Potato peeler never needed this, use a knife

Mixing bowls use a regular bowl

Frying pan

Pot

Baking sheet

Whisk use a spoon/fork

Stirring spoons / ladles again, use a spoon

Tea infuser ball what is this???

Measuring cups

Strainer

Cutting board

Coffee maker not necessary if you don’t drink coffee

Kettle I’m assuming this is for tea? You can use a regular pot to boil the bags in

Toaster put your toast on that baking sheet and stick it in the oven

Magnets

Dry erase markers

Sticky notes

Microwave

Wire sponge use your dish rags

Trash bin

Recycling bin

Rubber gloves

Silverware organizer

Measuring spoons

Aluminum foil

Wax paper you’ve got aluminum foil, it does the same thing

Can opener

Bottle opener not necessary if you don’t drink

Containers for salt, sugar, flour, etc. use the bags/containers they come in

LIVINGROOM

Sofa

Rocking chair (you know you want one)

Loveseat you really only need like one thing to sit on

Coasters

Blankets

Throw pillows

Coffee table

Book shelves only if you have a lot of books is this necessary

TV Netflix/hulu on phone, computer, etc.

TV stand

Floor lamp only need if you don’t have an overhead light

End table

Stereo system / radio none of this is super important and it can wait

BEDROOM

Mattress

Box spring

Bed frame I personally love the mattress on the floor look

Linens how are these different from sheets??

Hangers

Laundry hamper put your dirty clothes in the washer / only necessary if you do your laundry outside of your apartment

Trash bin just hang a Walmart bag on your doorknob

Curtains the windows should come with blinds

Pillows you only need enough for you and your partner if you have one

Pillow cases

Night table get like one or two of those $1 plastic locker crate things and stack them beside your bed and there ya go

Alarm clock Who doesn’t just use their phone?

Lamp only necessary if you don’t have on overhead light

Dresser only necessary if all of your clothes don’t fit in your closet / put undergarments in those same little locker crates

Coat rack

Desk / vanity

Comfy chairs

DININGROOM

Dining table just get those little tv dinner trays/tables from Walmart     and eat on the couch
