I know Juno Steel technically already has a videogame, but I’m just thinking… RPG side scroller pixelated Juno steel game that goes along with the main story of the podcast. Hear me out.
each episode is a different level while the seasons are “parts.” Each season has a different gameplay dynamic- especially season 3, as in each chapter, you play a different character. It plays like any other fighting game, except for the impact that different characters can have on eachother.
for example:
-Rita and Peter are Juno’s support characters, and can give him health if need be, although Peter has the ability to non-lethally deplete Juno’s health at tense points in their relationship (for example, last episode)
-Vespa is a main healer, but only for after boss fights. During fights, the only person who she is willing to support and give health is Buddy
-Rita and Jet have a variety of combo moves together- alternatively, Rita’s presence is instrumental for Jet’s high-damage attacks
-Jet and the Ruby 7 are ridiculously powerful together, but the Ruby 7 occasionally drains Jet’s health if no one else is fighting with them
-Juno’s objective during several parts of season 2 is to protect Ramses. During these missions, Ramses offers a “second chance” (if Juno runs out of HP, Ramses revives him without having to start the level over) but afterwards Juno’s move set is significantly altered and restricted for the rest of the level
And so on and so on, with whatever effects the characters have on eachother demonstrating their relationship at the time
It would be a half puzzle half fighting game I think… especially given that Juno is primarily a detective. also, I think it’d be cool if there were “special levels”- such as The Next Page, where you primarily play as Peter and Slip, or The Monster’s Reflection, where you’re forced to work against the clock whilst solving Juno’s internal crisis with Benzaiten.
additional notes:
-Rita carries a ton of items, and when you ask her for one, they’re randomly generated. Some of the time they’re useful, most of the time they’re not. -Playing as Rita, you have the ability to hack into computers and open password protected doors with ease. Playing as Juno, you have to call on Rita, in which a long lengthy gag ensues
-During Man In Glass, as you run around the level as Peter, you have to furiously play a mini game where you squash down Peter’s thoughts about Juno every time you see him and file them away for future consideration. It’s very tiring, and very annoying, but at some point you get the chance to stop doing that
-Buddy is kind of like a very helpful narrator- “Juno, there’s 4 guards on the other side of the door” or “Juno, Nova loves attention” in order to help you make dialouge or action choices that help you fufill the level’s needs
-During season 1, Juno’s main weapon is his gun, and the accuracy doesn’t need to be worried about. However, during season 3 and beyond, it’s accuracy resets and become much less reliable, and you have to play a mini game of shooting practice with buddy in order to get that accuracy back up
-You can TOTALLY choose Juno and Peter’s outfits, as well as Rita’s
One day they’ll understand how it’s done…

he xuan’s great plan
bsd modern/uni au where the jail arc is all the meursault girlies going to a jailbreak-themed escape room for Fyodor’s birthday but they’re all drunk asf (except Sigma, who’s the designated driver) and. Dazai gets in and immediately lays down on the ground and accepts death but he’s so bored he starts solving the puzzles from the floor anyway and Nikolai is climbing the walls trying to see if the ceiling panels open and Chuuya is trying to brute-force various doors and safes open and poor Sigma is trying so hard to solve it and get out and Fyodor is waging psychological war with the person watching them over the cameras but he scares them away and starts trying to psychologically fight Dazai instead and at this point the worker assigned to them has just. left so they’re stuck in this room with Chuuya and Sigma’s crumbling sanity for like. three hours. in the end they get out bcuz Dazai solved the code for the door without even doing the rest of the room. anyways just think about it
