The Poster Of The Camelidae Family. What I Like From This Work Is That I Can See The Improvement Of My

The poster of the Camelidae family. What I like from this work is that I can see the improvement of my illustration. From the time that I began to now, I have put more attention to detail an accuracy keeping in mind that subspecies differences are often very small. I love what I am doing and I love to share it with all of you.

If you want to have this nice piece hanging in your wall, just follow the link below. They come in different sizes, prices and mediums. It will help me a lot. Also a like would be nice. Thank you all for your support. PD. On my instagram I will post the animals but as well part of the illustration process.

This Is The Last Of The Lowland Tapir Subspecies. It Was A Real Joy To Draw This Animal, And I Love The

This is the last of the Lowland Tapir subspecies. It was a real joy to draw this animal, and I love the result. I actually animate this animal. If you want to see it moving, check out my Instagram by clicking here

Tapirus terrestris terrestris

Tapirs are like living fossils. They haven't changed much in years because they are well-adapted to this world. That was until we came into the picture. We, humans, move in this world at a pace that is hard to follow for many animals, and Tapirs are one of them. Their habits are just the opposite. Its reproduction is slow, making it very hard for them to recover once is decimated in some areas. They wander vast distances which means they need space and we are not providing that to them. Kill roads, fragmentation of the environment, crops in jungles, etc.

I think we need to understand that we are at the top of this world. Whatever we do is going to have repercussions on everything that surrounds us. We decide where the world is going and how it does it. That means also, that we are responsible for all living beings. Now is not like before, when animals extinguish because they couldn't adapt to the environment. Now they extinguish basically because they couldn't adapt to us. We will be gone at some point, so What are we going to leave? _______________________________________ Credits: Handbook of the Mammals of the World. Book 2. Lynx Editions. The Irrawaddy Dolphin. One Of The Aspects I Enjoy Most About This Project Is The Opportunity To Learn

The Irrawaddy Dolphin. One of the aspects I enjoy most about this project is the opportunity to learn as I work. Before getting involved with dolphins, I had no idea how many different species existed. Now, each time I work with them, I’m struck by the incredible diversity in their shapes and behaviors. This experience also highlights how much there is still to discover about them. Despite feeling a sense of familiarity with dolphins, the extent of the unknown is astonishing, and it amazes me how little we know about many of them. The Annamite river and its floating islands. (Vietnam) This is a reproduction of the view of the jungle through the eyes of my Great Grand Father.

3rd of May 1821 “Today we arrive at the Annamiterange5. The tribe called Cơ Tu6 has received us and we are going on an expedition for at least three months trying to unveil the jungle´s secrets and discover more of what it has been unseen.

Two of the villagers will come with us. Our expert guides will take us where no other human has been. We will live in the jungle and we will become a part it. We will be no more than spectators of what the jungle will reveal for us.”

Perfect Balance Between Chaos I Before Start Working On My Great Grand Father’s Book I Did A Series

Perfect Balance Between Chaos I Before start working on my Great Grand Father’s book I did a series of drawings mixing different animals in an intrinsic way. I started drawing a part of a bird and then I switch to another bird. The composition was done accordingly I was adding birds. I called “The Perfect Balance in Chaos” and depicts the way the nature moves violently but always keeping the perfect balance (That is why I did it in a square shape canvas”.

Right Whales:

Right Whales:

The other genus of the Balaenidae family is composed of three species. The three of them are mostly distinguished from each other by distribution or genetic analysis.

The particularity of this genus is the callosities that grow below its mandible that provide the perfect habitat for colonies of whale lice, a form of crustacean, that cannot live in open waters and found this whale the perfect way to travel comfortably. It is a *symbiosis, however, scientists cannot explain concretely why.

Among the three, the Southern Right Whale is the only one that is not in danger, being the North Atlantic Right Whale the one in most critical danger of extinction. This is probably related to its whereabouts which is in areas where humans have been doing whaling for centuries.

I am actually not in total disagreeing with whaling. Not that I will ever participate in such an event or even try something that comes from a whale. However, in some cultures is ingraining for centuries and was extremely important for the survival of humans.

Whaling should be banned today? For us might be a big bold no as an answer because it doesn't affect us at all. But what about if the consumption of chicken or cow is banned? We might say that there is not a relation between both. However, some cultures see the consumption of whales in the way we see the consumption of chicken. Are chicken endangered? Of course not, but the way we are consuming it is putting in danger the whole planet.

Maybe whales are way more charismatic, mysterious and magnificent than chickens but in the end, they both are living beings and if we are going to advocate for one, we should advocate for both. Just to be fair.

*Symbiosis: interaction between two different organisms living in close physical association, typically to the advantage of both.

"Doing An Animal That Is So Beloved Is A Real Challenge. You Want To Have It Right Because You Think

"Doing an animal that is so beloved is a real challenge. You want to have it right because you think people might be pickier. It was a really nice experience going further into minimal details trying not just to catch the shape of the animal but also its soul."

As I mentioned to you in my previous post (If you haven't seen it go check it out) I was going to mix things up. Instead of illustrating the whole family at once, I decided to do a couple of families and show a different member every week. I decided to go with the felines because I know how much they are loved but also how challenging they could be. It is my first feline so I struggle with things that none of the other animals I've done has.

Indochinese Tiger

Tigers are a special species. For many years it was thought that they are 9 subspecies. However, the latest studies (2017) demonstrate that they are just two subspecies and each of them is divided by populations of tigers. This is still in debate but most of the books that I checked welcomed this hypothesis. The Indochinese Tiger belongs to the genus panthera tigris tigris along with the Bengal Tiger, the Amur Tiger, and basically, all the tigers that live in Asia land. The other subspecies is the panthera tigris sondaica which are the groups that live in Indonesia. Sumatran Tiger, Bali Tiger, etc.

The Indochinese Tiger was seen in the infamous and today closed Tiger Temple, in Thailand. Where the monks used to drug the tigers, so people can gather around them without any danger. It is also said that they used to sell body parts of the tigers. I must confess that I went to the place ignoring that such horrible things were happening. What a shame. Something to think about. There are more tigers as pets in the United States than in the wild. W.T.F.! StoreInstagram

As Always, I Really Enjoy Working On Cetaceans. They Are Really Grateful. I Spent No More Than Three

As always, I really enjoy working on cetaceans. They are really grateful. I spent no more than three hours and I am happy with the result. Today, the most common dolphin on earth. Short-Beaked Common Dolphin

Formerly considered a subspecies of the Common Dolphin, the short-beaked common dolphin has since been recognized as a distinct species with no subspecies identified thus far. Although they can be difficult to differentiate from their long-beaked counterparts, the short-beaked common dolphin can be identified by its notably smaller beak.

This species is widely distributed throughout all the world's oceans, with a global population estimated to be around two million individuals. Despite their abundance, they face numerous threats such as entanglement in fishing gear, pollution, and habitat loss. Therefore, conservation efforts are necessary to protect these remarkable creatures and ensure their long-term survival. ___________________________________ Credits: Whales, Dolphins and Seals: A field guide to the marine mammals of the world / Brett Jarret & Hadoram Shirihai NOAA Fisheries ___________________________________ Thank you guys for your likes and support. Tarpan: Many Reasons Collided That Resulted In The Extinction Of This Wild Horse. It Was An Important

Tarpan: Many reasons collided that resulted in the extinction of this wild horse. It was an important source of meat for many cultures and while humans were flourishing in the Eurasian continent, the Tarpan’s populations began to decrease. The Tarpan horses also were persecuted because of the damage they caused to hay storages. Breeding domestic horses with Tarpans also was a problem because the offspring were impossible to tame. Tarpans survived the longest in the southern parts of the Russian Steppe. By 1880 most Tarpans were hybrids, and pure breeds became extremely rare. In 1879 the last scientifically confirmed Tarpan in the wild was killed accidentally while being capture. The last captive Tarpan died in 1909 in a Russian zoo.
