A quick note - obviously I took some artistic license with the animals here, including making Janeway's salamander cuter than the one they showed (oh, was this foreshadowing future events...? 🤔😬)! As for Chakotay's, we never did find out his, did we (we know it's not a bear 😉)? We saw a hawk/eagle in Tattoo, but I always thought it symbolized Chakotay's father or something more to that effect. So I decided to go with a marten for him for no other reason that they're cute, fierce and somehow seemed fitting (also it worked for this sketch 😉). I hope you'll forgive those small liberties!

Later at Neelix’s potluck, Janeway knows she’s forgiven when Chakotay lets her add plain croutons to his salad, rather than his preferred seasoned ones.

I love the complexity of feelings in Resolutions. In my opinion, they were happy to return to the ship, because even if they were stranded with their Love of their Lives, they still need & want other human interactions e.g. with friends and family. (I think being condemned to see only one person for the rest of your life is a torture, even if you love that person). I interpreted their sadness at the end of the episode as being sad that they didn't have enough time to experience and build up their romantic relationship. Do you think it is reasonable to be sad not being stranded with only 1 person for the rest of your life?

Everyone on the starship Voyager is at least a little bit in love with Captain Janeway and yes it’s sexual. Tuvok’s the only one who’s immune to that last part because he views her as his gremlin little sister. It’s not usual, it’s actually quite expected, that crews get strangely attached to their captains but on Voyager it’s 30 times worse because 1.) she’s super intense and kinda flirts with everyone all the time anyway and she makes you feel so important but more importantly 2.) her captain super power is believing in people so hard they become the best versions of themselves. It’s enough that anyone who spends longer than 12 hours in her presence will end up willing to die for her but THEN 3.) if you try to die for her she will either a.) avenge your ass so hard they’ll teach courses on it at the academy or b.) risk her own life to save you. She should have just let you die for the greater good but she didn’t and she wouldn’t and she won’t ever and the crimes you’re willing to do for her are about endless
