Still Star-Crossed is a Shonda Rhimes produced show (and yes, I realize this could excite you or make you quit straight away), so it’s dramatic and filled with different races and ethnicities (the main character is a dark-skinned woman and the character with most power/authority is black). There’s politics, there’s romance, there’s drama, there’s swordfights. 

It also bombed the first night. (On Memorial Day.)

The first season is supposed to only be 7 episodes. ABC is not doing much to promote it. It likely won’t receive more than a single season. But it’s based on a book, and it appears to be paced to have a conclusive ending by the end of the season

That means just 7 hours dedicated to this beautiful, inclusive, fun show that will very likely have a satisfying ending.

So watch. Tweet #stillstarcrossed. Watch on-demand or live or on Hulu. Because if you do, maybe it’ll be more than 7 hours.

Just finished reading "Forever" and holy crap man, can we have part 2 like NOW! LOL :) This was so good. Need Captain Swan to have their happy ending in this story!

save emerald city

i know i don’t usually do posts like this, but i feel really strongly about trying to get Netflix to pick up the NBC show: Emerald City. It’s honestly one of my favorite shows now, and completely underrated. it follows a poc lead, and takes a dark turn down the yellow brick road you thought you knew. It’s not afraid to open with a strong romance unlike so many other shows that string you along with the “desired” slow burn or a love triangle. the characters are complicated and interesting and leave you wanting to know more about each and every one of them. dorothy and lucas/the scarecrow bring a light to the show and their chemistry (imo) is off the charts. i’ve heard emerald city referred to as a mix of game of thrones and once upon a time, and i have to agree; though it comes without the constant storyline shifting that once upon a time did, and leaves you wanting more after every episode. it includes a bisexual lead, a trans lead, and a woman of color lead. honestly this show has so much to offer, and i’m really upset to see it go without a fight. whether or not you plan to watch please sign the petitions in the links below to help give this show a fighting chance at another season, for those of us who are not done with this dark retelling of a classic tale. https://www.change.org/p/netflix-save-emerald-city https://www.change.org/p/nbc-renew-emerald-city-for-season-2

☻ A drabble of our muses on their wedding day

Mike promised to never make fun of his sister-in-law again after this was all over.

It had been a hassle since day three, when he and Sarah tried to do everything, from catering to registering, picking out everything and figuring out seating. It was a lot to go through for something that might last twelve hours tops. He couldn’t get anyone to pay attention to him and they kept having arguments over what to use and who to invite.

Once Mary had stepped in, settling the arguments and bringing her own experience and business connections into the mix, everything started coming together like syrup. Sticky, sticky maple syrup that’s good but gets everywhere.

Staring down at the aisle, watching Sarah come up in the dress she had picked out weeks before, he felt better than anything else he had ever done in his life. Even in the stuffy suit, he had never felt as peaceful and whole as he did then.

I agree something doesn't seem right!

I think it’s kind of telling that none of the other former *series regulars* who appeared at Creation cons in 2017 (Bex, Emilie and Jared) have been announced as guests for 2018. I’m not sure about Emilie, but I know Bex and Jared have both signed up for other upcoming cons, so it’s not that they don’t want to do con appearances any more. Sean (via his agent, I think) had also said that he wasn’t doing Creation events in 2017…another former series regular who was dropped from the show. He did wind up appearing at the Toronto con, but that was clearly a last-minute scramble to get replacement guests after both Jen *and* Colin cancelled, and Colin’s in particular was very last minute.

I had assumed that Creation just paid a licensing fee to use the Once name and photographs and that was about it, but maybe ABC/A&E are more involved with it than I thought and they did veto Jen, Bex, etc in favour of trying to book new series regulars like Andrew and/or Dania into those spots. 

Creation is getting completely hammered about this on Twitter.
