Alright guys, things are not looking great for Emerald City’s renewal. And before I knew that they would likely be setting up a cliffhanger ending, I wouldn’t have minded just one season of this wonderfulness, I’ll take anything I can get. But, if there is more to tell in this amazingly beautiful world then I think it’s worth a shot to try to save this show! Who’s with me?! my god, I am terrible with these sorts of things, forgive me

No, things aren’t looking great. TV Grimm Reaper expects it to be canceled:

Emerald City is likely to be canceled. Its ratings weren’t terrible for a Friday premiere, but they haven’t stopped declining. Last week’s 0.6 puts it into the likely canceled range, even for a Friday show. As you read the nonsense from the #PRJedi in the TV media about Emerald City being an “event series” remember what that means: If it had good ratings, it would be renewed. Since the ratings are bad, one season was always the plan! (x) (Can that mean that there isn’t actually a cliffhanger? lol) 

But! Tv By the Numbers says it’s still a toss up (same goes for Timeless, guys check that shit out too, it’s so awesome!).

Here are some things we can do:

Watch it live! (WHY CAN’T I HAVE A NIESLEN BOX, WHY? I WATCH GOOD SHOWS, DAMN IT) If you can’t watch live, watch it legally through streaming sites like Hulu or nbc.com if you can. (I understand if you are outside the US it doesn’t count (WHY))

Tweet!! LIVE TWEET! During the show and before and after it airs (I think it’s 20 minutes before and after that it counts, I think?)! Use #EmeraldCity as a priority tag and then, hey, maybe we can get that and/or #SaveEmeraldCity to trend! And fans outside the US, this is where you can really help! It airs twice, once at 9 PM EST and 9 PM PST on Fridays (use google to find out what time that is for you and Tweet away! :D)

Follow Emerald City on all social media platforms and engage! Even if it’s a like! Sharing is great and promotes it. 

Spread the word! Maybe you can get some other people into it too! (Especially if they have a Nielsen box… bribe them them….)

THERE IS A HUGE FACTOR OF EYES OPEN THAT IVE JUST DECIDED TO CHANGE AND IT WON’T HAPPEN FOR A FEW CHAPTERS BUT I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE PEOPLE’S REACTIONS AHHH

On July 17th 2014 my father in law, who is a part time trucker,  was in northern Ohio getting ready to sleep in the bed in the cab of his truck. After laying down in bed he heard some shaking noises in the trailer of his truck. He proceeded to call 911 to alert them and then heard someone jiggling the handle to the cab. Suddenly, a bullet shot through the drivers side window. (We later found out that there was metal in his eyebrow from said bullet.) He jumped out of the passenger door only to be met by 2 other men armed with knives. All together there were four men who proceeded to assault and maim my Father in Law. His injuries included a large gash to the stomach that required glue and 28 stitches, a stab wound to his arm that required 10 stitches, PTSD, and most recently seizures.

They haven’t found the four men who did it and from the forum Topix.com it seems like many recent crimes around there have gone unsolved.

Pretty shitty right? 

Well guess what? That’s not even the worst of it.

Sunday, August 14th, 2014, was FIL and MIL anniversary and the day my fiance had to go back to work until at least Thanksgiving. That morning we were all woken up to pounding on the door and my 16 year old sister in law answered to police claiming they had a warrant for my father in laws arrest. We were, and still are, in shock.

The police are claiming that he faked his entire assault including stabbing himself multiple times. We think it’s because he brought up the fact that no recent crimes had been solved in the town. As a result of my FIL being in jail we are lacking funds. He had been out of work because of his injuries and seizures and my MIL has POTS which makes it extremely difficult to carry on with every day tasks and nearly impossible to hold a job because there is such little understanding. Our land owner who were basically renting to own from is threatening us to kick us out.

We all have clothes and food etc and if I get hate whatever I don’t care I just need help so bad. We don’t have cable and have the cheapest internet. We’ve sold cars and guns and have a truck that we cant fix yet. We’re just trying to keep a roof over our head so we don’t have to move. Were supposed to be getting a settlement but that could take up to a year for any money to come in from it. 

I am literally begging for help. Even if you can’t at least do me the favor of reblogging.

I totally agree! A lot can happen between 7x02 and the back half of the season! I am gonna have hope that she comes back for a couple more episodes, at least the finale. After all, that is what this show is all about right? Having Hope in Happy Endings? 

Hi Liz! I know that you are tired of people coming into your inbox and complaining and freaking out and stuff. I really hope that this message isn't like that, or else please ignore. I've remained optimistic that Jen will most likely appear for at least the series finale, if not for a couple more episodes. But today with her posts, it's actually the first time I've been worried, they seem so final. I know you've thought the same about her returning, do you still feel that way even after today?

I had a feeling I was going to get one of these LOL Look, the way I see it, she is contracted for this one episode, anything she does beyond episode 2 will require a new contract, new terms of agreement, new salary, etc. This is /technically/ the last time because she hasn’t agreed to anything anymore…yet. There’s a very long year ahead and she could very well change her mind under the right circumstances, which I still think is possible. It’s also possible that she’s filmed everything that they need for the whole story during this week and will simply insert them when appropriate, and yeah, it’s the last time. It’s also possible that saying anything but “last day/last time” gives too much of the plot away. My point is, we just don’t know what the future holds. But I actively choose to have hope so *shrugs* that’s still where I stand.

Happy Monday Everyone! So happy to say that we reached our 4th milestone and have gotten up to 1,000 signatures. So amazed at how much support this has gotten! Hopefully we can keep it going and reach the next milestone. Another HUGE thank you to @fairytalesandtimetravel for her help or this petition wouldn’t have been made! 

A man stopped by the Applebees that fired that waitress for posting the receipt from a pastor who didn’t want to give her a tip. This was the letter he left. It reads: 

Dear Applebee’s:

Let me cut to the chase: I find your termination of Ms. Chelsea Welch (an otherwise excellent and hard working employee) downright deplorable and appalling. As far as I’m concerned, she did absolutely NOTHING “wrong” when posting the image of that receipt with that insulting comment made by the customer Pastor Alois Bell.

First off, there was absolutely nothing mentioned in the employee handbook admonishing this kind of behavior, but more importantly (if you wish to argue otherwise) just how much “personal information” could have possibly been divulged to the public just by the customer’s signature? NOWHERE was the customer’s full name, credit card information, address or even YOUR restaurant’s name indicated on the photograph of that receipt which is far more incriminating and potentially damaging information than just a signature alone.

How is a mere signature going to help a criminal commit an act of identity theft? Local health inspectors and fire/safety inspectors have their signatures prominently displayed on certificates posted publicly by restaurants like yours… can THEY complain that you publicly displayed their “private information”?

As far as I’m concerned the only “damage” done was to the pastor’s shallow and “precious” ego. Nothing more, nothing less. She could’ve have simply ignored the post, not said anything and just went on with her cheap and inconsiderate, stingy ways. No one would’ve been the wiser. But no. She HAD to complain to the manager and have an otherwise fantastic employee fired simply because she was embarrassed.

Ms. Welch did absolutely NOTHING to publicly embarrass/humiliate her…. MS. BELL DID. And cared more about her ego than actually righting a wrong and offering to not only fairly tip what was rightfully due to Ms. Welch, but fight to get her re-hired. Ms. Alois Bell, the pathetic excuse of a human being she is, did absolutely NONE of that… and YOUR company has the NERVE to stand by her side???

As a part time pizza delivery driver myself, I KNOW first hand what its like to work for a less than minimum wage depending almost entirely on tips just to pay basic necessities such as food and rent. Yeah, I get the “average” principle and try not to take the occasional stuff so seriously, however, on some really bad days when I have runs that I have to drive far, using MY personal vehicle and MY personal gas, and get nothing, its not only very frustrating but completely unfair that I get taxed at federal minimum wage rate when [I’m] actually making LESS in that hour delivering to these inconsiderate customers who have no clue as to what SERVICE is all about. Essentially getting taxed on money that I’m NOT making. And THIS is what your company CONDONES and is PROUD OF?!?!?!

Long story short: I have come to your Easy Brunswick/Milltown restaurant NOT to order anything…but to simply use the restroom, get my complimentary water with lemon and just LEAVE but not without generously tipping your server for doing nothing more than bringing me menus and water.

Furthermore I promised the server that should this letter appear online and go viral, that I’ll be returning to the store and DOUBLING his/her tip. And since he/she has my full permission and consent to post this letter online with MY NAME and signature fully visible, there isn’t ANYTHING that you can do about it.
