I just wanna be the bad girl who makes the good boys bad
Went on vacation and hit up some book stores. Everyone in the family got something.
Physical books are the best. But I admit, I'm trying to move towards ebooks more. I just don't have enough shelf space for all the books we get.
I actually tried to sell some books to a used book store. Got some store credit, which was nice. But they didn't take all the books, lol. I had a copy of Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. I guess it's old, outdated, or they had too many copies, so they wouldn't take it. I admit I never read it.
Using Libby for borrowing books from the library is awesome. I have a Nook Glowlight 4+, and I fell in love with it some more over vacation. The backlight feature is key for nighttime reading. That's when I can get most of my reading in.
Unfortunately I have to side load from my computer and use Adobe tools. But for regular non-DRM epubs, I can download on my phone, use a USB cable between phone and Nook and sideload easy peasy. My now favorite feature of Android.
I needed this pep talk. I went to work too, to know who are the type of people I interact with.
Women who didn't vote because they aren't "political".
The non white males who were happy that the stock price went up.
The youngest voting age group that thought both were bad or listen to Rogan.
It was a tiny subset and there were a few who were just as disappointed as I was. But overall, a lot of it was the fact that people didn't understand the stakes. Didn't understand what they were looking at.
Honestly, we should make voting mandatory. I believe Australia has that rule. "Free country" my ass if you think it's freedom not to vote. Everybody has to deal with the aftermath of an election. I was dumb like that too once.
I never saw this before. Albeit saw it happening live from my classroom window. Being a kid living through a tragedy is pretty different than being an adult, and on live tv.
Merry Christmas 🎄⛄

Waiting on a package for a secondhand Freewrite Traveler. I've spent a good half a year debating to get one.
Considered the Alpha Neo 2, which would be the cheapest option. But I worry with aging tech, how I'd be able to get data off it. Example, USB ports are not the same on modern computers now.
Considered the Japanese product of the Pomera DM250. The price point is still high with some more functionality but also several more steps to pull data from.
So the Freewrite Traveler is definitely a luxury item, even secondhand. I will experiment with it for the next few months as I try to spin up my stories and articles concepts. I really want to self publish, but I need to actually complete something.
I've written several things by hand and I like it, but I wasn't able to keep it going. I think I just prefer writing on a keyboard. I've got part of a story started by hand, counted words by hand, and am not really looking forward to typing it up again lol. I wish I had more time in the day.
I'm an addict to stationery. When I feel stressed about life, I peruse Instagram on stationery tags. When I feel depressed I peruse the shops. When I feel beaten and want a real pick me up, I use all that research to buy an item I checked out for weeks.
The past few years have resulted in a collection I really don't need. *Sigh*
