I wish there way a way to steal time from one day, and give it to another.
One of my fondest memories as a child was when our power would go out and my family would play "little house on the prairie". We ate dinner together, played games and brushed our teeth all by candlelight. I even remember losing power one winter day and we all took turns racing around the house to keep warm.
Looking forward to longer days, but enjoying these beautiful nights. Happy solstice!

Might be moving out to the suburbs for a while. Not sure if that's a step away from society (which is the way I'd like to be headed) or a step towards being sedentary, stuck there until I die.
At the end of the month Allison and I will be moving into a new, nicer apartment. It's very exciting and big step for us as a couple. The only problem is that we've been having trouble with the rental company. They're very dodgy with any questions we might have and today I tried to drop off the security deposit and couldn't find their office at the address they gave me.
I'll admit I'm a bit paranoid of a person but Allison is starting to get worried now too, which worries me :/
Birthday haul.

I'm not sure about everyone else but my girlfriend and I enjoy our sleep. We have an extremely comfortable bed and a bedroom that is cool and almost completely pitch black for 15 hours or so. But over the past few months that glorious sleep has been interrupted by our neighbors having extremely loud porno sounding sex.
Our building has an air shaft that runs through it, which houses 3 of our 5 windows (the two in the kitchen and the one in the bedroom). It's nice because even though we're an inner apartment we get some extra light, unfortunately we also share the shaft with a few other apartments. One being our overly sexual neighbors. Don't get me wrong, I love sex too, and it's something Allison and I try to do as much as possible. But at 3, 4, 5 and 7am on a WEEKDAY we prefer to be asleep instead of listening to the moaning and groaning of another couple. At first when we moved in it was funny (we heard them one night while brushing our teeth "Holy crap I can hear our neighbors having sex!") but when you've gotten maybe 3 hours sleep under your belt and our woken up by a high pitched female "UHAAAAAAAAAAAA" it becomes annoying as shit.
Am I wrong? Should we be celebrating their humping? Is this all part of living in an old building? Or should I shout out the window for them to shut the fuck up?
Yay I've reached 20 followers! Not the greatest accomplishment for having a blog for about a year, but still, I'm happy about it : )
Allison and I have been living in tiny one bedroom apartment for almost the last two years. When we first moved in we knew it was small but it felt huge. Allison was coming from a studio apartment and I fresh from my parents house, we had our own space and some room to breathe.
Now after the last 20 months we're ready to get out. Every little thing has become a thorn in our side making it more of a temporary place to sleep than a home. To be honest the reason we moved in was because it was cheap (less than $100 more than Allison's studio), I could ride my bike to work and it was our first place together, a starter home.
The focus now is getting out. Good news is Allison has a far better job than she did when we moved into this place, the bad news is that even though I've been searching for almost the past four months I am still jobless. It's one of the most depressing things for me to think that we could be stuck in this apartment another year because no other place will take us due to my situation.
I live for the outdoors but pound the city pavement. My wife and I wish our cat and dog would get along.
