sometimes i see recent otasune art with a suprising number of notes for how small the fandom is and i think “oh damn cool otasune art i didn’t see in the tag for some reason. weird that otacon isn’t wearing glasses tho” and then it turns out to be Those Two Guys from the league of legends show.

sksks yeah, i was surprised to get that ask on tumblr of all places. i mean there is something to be said about them sharing a mother/mother figure and big boss’ probable lack of romantic feelings towards ocelot, but on the ocelot side it is undeniable, there is nothing brotherly about how he feels.

honestly i bet kaz’s wife was cheating on him and he 100% knew when she announced she was pregnant (considering he is infertile) but didn’t have a leg to stand on (pun ENTIRELY UNINTENTED) because he’s been having hatesex with big boss for many years of their marriage. so they just have an unspoken agreement not to discuss eachother’s respective infidelity until one of them hits a breaking point and a messy divorce ensues.

This is from a MGS4 era database (hence not using the name Kaz, which wasn’t a thing till PW) but this paragraph seems to be about his status in 2005 (MGS1.)

Now that i’m thinking about it, this even being mentioned here is interesting too because that means they were still considering Catherine as canon as recently as MGS4 release, so she was not retconned out at that point.

actually i DO want to talk about catherine miller. here is what we know about catherine: she was Kaz’s daughter, she was a child during MG2 (in 1999) and it is implied in the MGS4 database that she lived with him during MGS1 (in 2005) my guess from her dialogue is that she was 5-8 years old in MG2, putting her birth year around 1991-1994.

but who was her mom? hell, considering kaz was infertile, who was her biological dad? what made him decide to raise her? was he raising her alone or was there a shared custody agreement with her mom? (endlessly fascinated by Kaz Divorce Arc but that’s for another post) did she have a good childhood? was she loved? considering she was living with kaz in 2005 was she the one to find his body? how did she react? (she was only a child) where did she go after? did she ever discover anything about her dad’s past? were there always agents watching her? did she ever meet solid snake? did she ever meet his daughter? did she get to grow up?

i know she was an afterthought character probably meant to be retconned out but i wish i could get my hands on the forbidden catherine lore, if it even existed.
