My reason for calling Overhaul the best Villain in the main series is because he's way more competent, driven and has a real threatening presence to him, compared to the other Villain Leaders.

AFO (Post Kamino) & Shigaraki aren't in his League.

They don't give off that feeling of dread. Shigaraki got AFO quirk to try and make him seem more imposing, but it wasn't enough since having a strong power isn't the only thing Overhaul had going for him.

AFO was decent until after his interrogation with All Might, where he became too comically evil for the sake of it (imo)

Re-Destro wasn't there for long but he did a ok job. The MLA did sell me as a competent group, considering the amount of money and connections they had. As well as their goal of free quirk use.

The only thing that was off was there belief of quirk supremacy, since the organisation's strength came from wealth and connections.

But other than that they were ok, it's too bad they were shoved to the side during the War.

But also Overhaul ideals and objectives felt different and way more grounded in the sense it doesn't feel like he blames society for everything and his only answer is mindless destruction.

He actually persue change but in way that almost makes sense, and his mindset offers a very interesting perspective about quirks that this series always avoid to exploit. Like is funny how Horikoshi puts constant references to the doomsday theory being something very real, yet no one in verse tries to do something about it and any character who doesn't like quiks is treated as a crazy monster to invalidate their opinions.

Chisaki is also different to other villains in the sense that despite his life is pretty tragic he never gets victimized by the author, something I can appreciate because honestly the most annoying part about the LOV for example is how the story constantly pats them in the back and tries to pretend their are just victims when they passed that point long ago.

Kai on the other hand gets a treatment so harsh that makes me wonder if Horikoshi actually hates him with passion, because holy hell since his defeat Horikoshi really doesn't hold back on try to put him as miserable as possible and with no chance of improve his situation even a bit. It felt like a massive double standard when you see how much the LOV gets glazed.

Well... this kinda became a rant on my part, but I need to express it as Overhaul really deserved a way better treatment because in terms of villains he was the peak and MHA never had something similar again.

If you talk about deep comic lore about X-Men, then I don't really know.

While I love X-Men as a concept for a superhero group (probably my favorites on that sense) my only experience with them are the live action movies and some of the animated series. So I don't know that specific character you mention there, but there's other similar characters to Shigaraki with similar decay powers that are much better writen than him, for example Polka-Dot Man (from the James Gunn S.S movie at least).

I wish we could get more of the gay twincest between AFO and Yoichi, but well don't think Shonen Jump would allow HK to get away with that even if he wants.

Nine and Midoriya really are perfect foils for each other in canon. I wonder how your version will play out.

And one of the funniest part abot Bakugou fans is how obviously they're mostly new anime fans and Bakugou is super dope for them only because they don't know anything better. But the rest of the anitweet community always make fun of them because there's tons of characters that do the same as Bakugou but far better.

Canon possum is a joke but one thing I never forget is how decay IS powerful, sure a powerful quirk with an idiot is not a good thing in many fronts but...

Cinder (I'm loving him already) has to know a guy who can decay stuff with one touch even if he is an idiot.

Again, shig is an idiot and a bad leader and all that but one thing we can't deny is he knows how to fight.

So I think cinder would make a point to avoid him like the plague.

In canon Cider is the kind of person who knows he shouldn't bite off more than he can chew, since after all his plan during his debut was to steal during a very specific moment in which heroes aren't present, so is more reward without having to fight and less risk.

It was just a coincidence that A.M was there with Bakugou and Todoroki.

I guess his mentality also applies to fight dangerous villains, and the lov had some big names attached them. Their reputation probably was enough for Cider to not have his gang involved with such group of psychos.

But... I disagree on Shigaraki being a good fighter.

Maybe before all the bs power ups given by the doctor he at least knew how do surprise attacks and such, but Decay being such a one-dimensional quirk also means the user doesn't require a lot of skill to put it in use. It is basically just run towards the enemy and touch for instakill.

Which became even more braindead post awakening. Like even Overhaul has more room to be creative and need skill to put in use.

Decay is just a broken and boring quirk that requieres nothing to be effective. Crusty asshole somehow manages to be more plain than he already was at first, is like he evolves in reverse.

The fact Shindo made top 20 in the hero charts 8 years later and not a lot of the Class A guys including Uraraka make me proud of my boy.

Yeah I know Japan allows the cousing marriage thing, however I don't know if it's exactly a popular practice or even view with good eyes in real life.

For MHA standards we don't have any info either, but considering the Himuras seem to be doing it for preserve the ice quirk purity and quirk marriages are sort of tabu according to Garaki, I don't think is popular either.

I imagine the Himuras in canon really got deep into inbreed until it actually turn against them and almost doomed the bloodline just because new healthy babies stop born. Sell seni younger members like Rei and Geten lowkey seem a strategy to also preserve their own existence, but I personally think they not only were looking for people with a lot of money to sell the childs, but also in the case of the womans like Rei the Himura seniors wanted people with good genetics like Enji.

Is funny you mention the whole plot of Cider helping Izu to steal stuff from Re-Destro company, as I also have this idea of him making an operation to steal from a werehouse full of valuable tech and support items that Detnerant (I think that's the company name) sells into the black market.

They would have success stealing a lot of merch they later sell to get money, but also Cider found a particularly expensive prototype of a high tech glider he decides to keep for himself and use to compliment his surfing style. As Mizunami is really into surfing in my AU, like he seems to be in canon.

Oh I forgot to mention before but the vigilante name Cider/Mizunami will use for my AU will be "Splashdown". Be free to use it if you like the name.

And since you mentioned Geten here, do you think he will have some role in the story? As I mentioned before I love the idea of Cider being a Himura, but also he probably was rejected by his clan because his quirk is water instead of ice and the Himuras seems to be the kind of elitist jerks to would dishonor a child for born with a "imperfect" quirk.

Which would create a lot of tension between Cider and Geten, especially is they reconogice each other. Geten hating Cider for being "a failed Himura" and Cider will hate Geten because he's just a "an attack dog" for Re-Destro.

Lol, but also Nine got a lot of traits from AFO as well. He's like their perfect mix.

Yet I can't help but wish the story actually did something with all this parallels between Nine and the shigabros. There's a lot of stuff implied but nothing really explored.

Nine is such a great character and his existence could've added a lot of the story of AFO and Yoichi.

I didn't follow Pokemon in like 10 years, but is funny how always I see a MHA/Pokemon mashup Midoriya always have an Eevee, and I got the vibe people are going for with this pair.

On a related note, for MHA canon verse I wish the concept of animal manefesting quirks was more explored, because outside of Nezu who is functionally the same as a mutant, animals with quirks are a dope concept. Basically pokemons for that world!

Like everything else, good writing goes first but aside of that MHA for some reason works perfectly as a crossover sandbox. Heck I've never seen a franchise being used for so many crossovers like MHA.

Every franchise, character or concept you can imagine can fit in MHA like a glove. Maybe because the premise of "everything is a superpower and everyone has one" is so easy to adapt into other things.

Personally my fav crossover is MHA x KNY.

Hi @nyc3 funny you ask me this bc I was thinking about an au where Izumi is in a pokemon world. Srsly!

Izumi is a poke trainer, she has eevees and eeveelutions (I think it fits here. One Eevee can be anything just like Izumi)

And well Cinder menages to steal a gym becaming a gym leader (people like him better lol) and well, things happen.

On a broad side, I don't have much crossovers for mha. They work fine as they are...they just need a good writing.

Not goofy goofy for Cider, not at Inosuke level, more like Midoriya is the one who tries to stay serious and focused while Cider is like "just chill bro".

Besides I imagine Cider would more street smart for grown in a more populated area and his charisma and confidence makes him better at communicating with other people, while Midoriya is still a bit shy and awkward. Plus I imagine Izu would be very afraid of demons (more than normal for a slayer but not Zenitsu level) and he needs to work on that while the story goes, while Cider is kinda indiferent to demons, maybe with a bit of excesive confidence.

For now Muzan is the villain in general, I can't see DS story working otherwise. And he would be their villain in a very general sense, as he's by defaul the enemy of every slayer, but their more personal enemies will be other MHA character reworked into demons.

However I can't see AFO working on a Demon Slayer based AU unless you make fundamentals changes to the story structure, as that story makes very clear since the first minute that Muzan is the only big bad and every other villains is under him.

And while I can see other MHA antagonist reworked as demons, not AFO himself because it won't work with his overall character to being the servant of someone else.

It's kinda easy to adapt the respective canon quirks of our dear couple into Breathing Styles.

Cider/Mizunami obviously would be a water breathing user, and for this AU I like to think he would be tsuguko of Sabito who survived this time.

While Midoriya is a wind breathing user (cause you know air force and float and green aesthetic... whatever) who was saved by Masachika (Yeah he's also alive at least for now) from the lower moon who killed his mother.

That lower moon would be no other than BK, who is a promising demon in ascension who is capable of generate explosions like his quirk in MHA.

And this would make Midoriya quest for revenge his principal motivation.

Still thinking about the details for this AU and who should be the other characters adapted into it, as MHA having such a big cast compared to DS force me to pick only the necessary lol.

So while I did saw the first season of DS and do think it's well paced and better than MHA in every way -not a big achievement to behold. I didnt saw the other seasons, I got spoilers here and there. My point is how some of the names here are unknown to me.

That being said...I do like more aus for this ship.
