the only reason anyone would care about which minority has power over another minority group is to sow division between the two minority groups btw

A while back my pharmacist saw my deadname on my profile and accidentially called it out, he corrected and deleted my deadname from the system so only my preferred name shows up now. There was a crowd of people behind me, so as he hands over the pills he apologized, in equal tone and volume as when he called my deadname and lied saying it's been a long day and he didn't mean to call out -his own- name. I quietly told him it was fine and he didn't need to do that for my sake.

His response: "No, it's my name now."

I went to the pharmacist yesterday, his nametag is my deadname. He informed me he's immigrating and in the process he's changed his first name to my deadname to have an English sounding name. That's why he's now able to get a reprint of his nametag to be my deadname. And repeated, with the intense seriousness of someone who is going to die on this hill: "It's mine now. Not yours. I'm taking." His tone indicated that decision is final.

Bro literally deadnamed me once, and has committed to flat out stealing my deadname. It's his now. Legally. Officially. I over heard his co-workers call him by the name.

Name A Better Couple Than Transphobic Trans People/misgendering Anybody They Don't Like, I'll Wait

My posts are all: "Hey, don't talk over trans men when they want to discuss their oppression!" "Nonbinary people aren't being treated very well right now, and we're being erased by the rest of the community." "Trans men and trans women aren't enemies." "Care about identities that aren't your own, include other trans people in your advocacy."

Which is apparently a grave enough offense to misgender me and compare me to a nazi, go figures.

It goes to show that some people are really transphobic before they transition, and they refuse to address this after their egg cracks.

trans men will say something like "having access to reproductive care is something that affects me personally, even as a man. i understand that conservatives speak about it as if it's a woman-only issue, but they see trans men as women too, and losing access to these services would affect us just as much. it'd be nice to be able to add my perspective and experiences to the conversation and have them taken seriously" and people will go "oh so you're erasing women? you're speaking over women? you hate women? you're a misogynist? typical man?"

like for the love of god "this issue affects me just as much as it affects you" does not mean "i think im more important than you" and its wild how many people take it that way. no reasonable trans man is actually trying to make discussions about abortion or trans healthcare or etc exclusively about them, and if you take it as a threat whenever a trans guy opens their mouth in a discussion like this, then that's your problem to work through, not theirs

"trans women HATE trans men. they're oppressing you bc of their socialization" <- this is a manipulation tactic by terfs to isolate you from the broader trans community to more easily groom you into detransitioning (and possibly to groom you sexually too tbh). call it out for what it is

white t girl i love you. and also do not forget that you are not the modern martyr for the oppressed voice. that's still black girls. it's always been black girls. stories of black martyrdom simply don't make it into the news cycle until the unrest caused by its reporting can be packaged as a "riot" segment between traffic reports. i know you suffer, but whatever you're experiencing, i beg you, when interacting with your community and building nuanced understandings of each other and the system which binds us, to not forget that a black tgirl has felt it 100 times worse before positioning yourself as an authority on all systems of oppression for having suffered unjustly at all. because you have suffered unjustly, but suffering unjustly as a white person means something so much different.

"a tiny fraction of transmascs are able to exploit the patriarchal system and in certain situations by going stealth they may benefit from material privileges" has become "all transmascs have male privilege and they do not experience misogyny and also they all hate trans women and they want to abuse us"

i think some of yall need to learn the warning signs of becoming a reactionary because this is some alarming shit

Does anyone wish we could talk about the real impacts of transandrophobia and anti-transmasculinity without having to constantly get into dumbass discourse?

Like whenever I make a post about the things we face I get vulnerable anecdotes from people sharing their pain at the hands of these forms of bigotry in my notes but these discussions always get overshadowed by the discourse

I can't help but think it's intentional, that people don't want us sharing our pain, speaking up for ourselves, shedding light on what we experience, finding community with each other and knowing the people we speak to are safe, people who won't deny our experiences and treat us with compassion, people who won't ostracize us the moment our bodies or demeanor become "too masculine" for their comfort, who won't try to force us to diminish our happiness with our identity.

They don't want us to be, period

The cycle of “invisible” oppression in the LBGT+ community:

You face sexual abuse, workplace discrimination, medical discrimination, and violence

It never gets reported, or is lumped in with the statistics of a different oppressed group.

Data and “proof” regarding your discrimination is spotty or nonexistent as best, so nobody advocates for you or talks about it in the media

Other LGBT+ people don’t personally hear about it, so they claim it doesn’t exist/they have it worse while dismissing and denying your personal experiences.

The discrimination continues to happen unopposed

This isn’t me arguing that hypervisibility is any better. It goes without saying that the hypervisibility of certain groups (Trans women, gay men, etc) contributes to their oppression, and has made things incredibly dangerous for them right now.

I just want people to acknowledge the dangers of invisibility as well.

Trans men, intersex people, nonbinary people, asexual people… There are so many groups in the LGBT+ community who get left behind and ignored while society tries to eradicate us.

You need to care about people like us, too. Please include other identities in your advocacy. We can't have trans/queer unity until you acknowledge and support ALL of us.

oh and also, trans women/fems should NOT be coining terms to describe the oppression that primarily trans men/mascs face. that is so incredibly fucking scummy on so many levels.

imagine i go "hm. actually, 'transmisogyny' is Bad and I Don't Like It so im going to decide on the word you should be using for yourselves because yall arent capable of meaningfully coming up with a word to describe your own oppression. i think 'transobjectification' is a better word for you all to use so stop using transmisogyny to describe your experiences now, thanks : ) "

that would be BEYOND disrespectful, it would be so extremely transmisogynistic of me to do that, so why is your coining of "transemasculation" not seen as RIGHTFULLY and DISGUSTINGLY transandrophobic.

AND THATS NOT EVEN MENTIONING HOW TRANS MEN/MASCS HAVE COINED SEVERAL TERMS TO TRY AND DISCUSS OUR OPPRESSION LIKE 'ISOMISOGYNY', 'TRANSMISANDRY', 'TRANSMASCPHOBIA', 'ANTI-TRANSMASCULINITY'. AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM HAS BEEN MET WITH THE SAME FUCKING RESPONSE. AT SOME POINT YOURE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO COME OUT AND SAY THAT YOU JUST DONT WANT US TO SPEAK ABOUT OUR OWN OPPRESSION AT ALL AND QUIT PLAYING THESE SHITTY SEMANTICS GAMES.
