what’s like an ambitious fic idea you have? Or idk favorite au to write/read?

there's sooo many big fics I want to write but idk if I can handle all that 😔 so I stick to oneshots and short fics (like six chapters max for me tbh, I have commitment issues)

So smth ambitious for me uhh

That might be my WIP "stole my heart" which is a thief Atsushi x detective Akutagawa longfic set in 1920s America. I've written little for it but it's huge in my head, I'd say it's ambitious because I'm writing like a whole mystery plot to it (Poe pls help me) but it's also gotta incorporate lots of romance 😔

There'd be a lot of miscommunication and pining and probably smut and lots of angst and moral dilemma and ofc m u r d e r because even though Atsushi is just a thief in this doesn't mean I won't go all Agatha Christie and murder some people in the fic (also Atsushi isn't a petty thief, he's a big-time wanted criminal :>)

It's been really exciting to brainstorm! :D

And for favorite AU to write might be...hm... ngl I hate like all of my writing but an AU that's fun every time is a wild west AU

My favorite AU to read is probably a college AU ngl they just hit different every time (I may also have a soft spot for it bc it was a college AU that got me into fanfiction)

Can I talk about the fact Akutagawa doesn’t understand why Atsushi saved him, even though he did the exact same thing for Atsushi. Him using the word 'protect' rather than save is also so powerful to me because that's inherently what Akutagawa always has been- a protector. He was born with his ability and he protected his sister, the other kids in the slums with it. He sacrificed himself so Atsushi could leave the ship. And now, we've yet to see how Bram's wish will play out, but he was asked to protect Aya. Rashomon is shaped like knight armour on him at this exact moment.

And yet he can't understand why someone would do the same for him???? Absolutely INSANE. He's spent so long protecting others and then trying to better himself for approval, to be able to survive on his own by sheer violence that he can't fathom anyone doing the same for him. It was probably the same when Higuchi and the black lizards saved him when he was comatose.

And likely, he knows Atsushi views him as immoral and his actions as abhorrent, and is stuck on the fact Atsushi has had a sudden switch (sudden to him) in such a huge way that he'd die for him, since Atsushi has never been shy about telling Akutagawa just what he thinks of him. He can’t fathom Atsushi seeing his violence and hatred toward him and knowing him so deeply without understanding him and also choosing to save him.

Asagiri you're insane for this truly.

What do you think Gin, Tachihara, Chuuya and Higuchi's reactions to Akutagawa dating Atsushi would be?

gin: really happy for him honestly. their brother has found someone he really loves and who really loves him!

tachihara: "yeah sure he's dating someone that's great I guess. am I supposed to say more???" also salty that akutagawa has a boyfriend but he's still single

chuuya: also happy for him! atsushi is a good kid. not the biggest fan of akutagawa dating a member of the ada though because that means... one or both of them might have to see dazai.....

higuchi: sobbing and devastated for the entire first week after she hears the news. and then immidiately after that she gets over it and is the #1 sskk supporter

honestly, I don't see sskk going somewhere for a honeymoon. they'd probably just each ask for a few weeks off of their work and spend as much time together as possible. their honeymoon is dragging each other around yokohama to go to their favorite restaurants and see gardens and walk alongside the pier and sleep in late. :)
