I sprayed it white. The plastic and the paint reacted strangely and it got a rough, pebbly surface, but I actually like the effect.

The putty finish helped a lot

I started working in acrylic craft paint (please ignore the terrible little paint pots on the right, those are from a craft my kid was doing at the same table!)

It came along better than I thought it would!

The results! From a distance it actually looks convincingly like china. I think I’ll try more in future!

I had no idea this was in the works until the article dropped (work for hire, am I right?) but Swan Lake: Quest for the Kingdoms is in development with Paramount Animation!

(on another note, credit your artist, people! The artist on a graphic novel is the director, choreographer, costumer, editor and all of the actors rolled into one).
