Goddamn but an anti-Superman deathtrap is always something else, ya know?
It's like the writers take all their frustration about having to write conflict around Clark's ridiculous power set, and say "you know how I would catch this guy out..."
Some days it is not worth being Jimmy Olsen I don't care HOW much monster girl pussy he gets. Action Comics 712
As tiring as all this shit is, I can't in good faith continue to use spotify.
For anyone else jumping ship, I used exportify.app to save my favorite playlists.
---
Edit: I'm used to maybe getting a like or two with the occasional single reblog (of mostly shitposts) so when I saw "99+" notifications I thought my app had glitched. So you can imagine my overwhelm when I was hoping to actually reach someone for once but never ever expected this, much less 10k or even 1k (or 100 if I'm being honest!). I do see people's questions and wanted to be able to provide answers but other users have already been very helpful! (thank you all so much!) So I recommend going through the notes for tips and suggestions.
So far I've downloaded Deezer and used a combination of tunemymusic and soundiz to transfer my playlists. Some seemed to only transfer the name of the playlist but no songs so I'd try the other site then it would work fine. I forget which but one has transferring more than 500 tracks at a time behind a paywall so I just did one playlist at a time and it worked. It also lets you check/uncheck individual tracks. I also like that it would show you what didn't transfer (for not being on Deezer) so I can find them elsewhere. I think the most that failed at once was maybe like 10ish tracks from my anime playlist which makes sense. It was a few specific artists.
I usually try to keep my blog peaceful (but not necessarily neutral) because we all need an escape from doomscrolling and people don't realize how quickly they can drown out your entire timeline/feed/dash/etc with said doom, despairing, and even flagrant misinformation. It doesn't mean I'm ignoring what's going on or not doing the work irl. I personally have days when I just don't have the mental capacity to process all the terrible things happening and need to see just fanart or laugh at shitposts so my goal is to provide that space for anyone needing that same breather. Hell, I just lost my job less than two weeks ago in an unexpected layoff and rent's due in a couple days so that's where my focus has been instead of the news. So I'm super grateful that one of my rare "please look at this" moments was actually, well, seen.
Thanks so much for this, been needing this exact list to exist and could only find episodes ranked by useless things like 'ratings' or 'reviews' as opposed to level of Queer Shenanigans (tm)
Since everyone else is doing this; as others have said, most episodes are worth seeing, but here are my absolute faves--
The Shark Affair -- probably my favorite episode of all time, Napoleon and Illya are on two separate missions that converge and pit them against a modern-day pirate.
The Project Strigas Affair -- you'll be playing the "Hey, it's that guy!" game all though this ep. Also Illya is in a ridiculous disguise and Napoleon still finds time to flirt with him.
The Fiddlesticks Affair -- SO. MUCH. DRAMA.
The Mad, Mad Tea Party Affair -- so much insanity, plus that lovely shot of Napoleon and Illya in the elevator shaft with their suitjackets off (one of my more notable "I may be ace, but dang" moments).
The Secret Sceptre Affair -- the clips that @justabigoldnerd has been posting should tell you all you need to know about this ep.
The Never-Never Affair -- what do you get when you take Napoleon and Illya and add in Agent 99, the Joker, and Mr. Slate from The Flintstones? This ep.
The Love Affair -- Eddie Albert plays a convincing villain and invokes Napoleon's wrath when it appears he's killed Illya. Also Madame Leota/Maleficent (Eleanor Audley) has a cameo
The Gazebo in the Maze Affair -- Napoleon embarks on a quest save his beloved Illya from a vengeful squire... with mixed results, but that's why we love this show.
Alexander the Greater Affair 1&2 -- there's a lot going on here, but that's what makes it great
The Foxes and Hounds Affair -- Robert Vaughn, David McCallum, AND Vincent Price all in the same room together--need I say more?
The Virtue Affair -- more mutual lifesaving with a ton of drama
The Bat Cave Affair -- ...there's a lot going on here, just watch it š
The Pop Art Affair -- modern art and killer foam
The Off-Broadway Affair -- yet another "Hey, it's that guy/gal!" episode, ft Lamb Chop, Scrappy-Doo, and General Burkhalter all in the same room with Napoleon and Illya. Also the closest MFU gets to a musical episode. ALSO more mutual lifesaving and, somehow, Napoleon and Illya still find time to have a date in a Turkish bath.
The Suburbia Affair -- very little I can add to what others have said about this ep, other than this: I am convinced that the overdubbed "Mother" at Illya that Robert Vaughn was forced to do was covering up a "Dear" that the censors refused to let air. In my heart, it was "Dear." Kudos to Robert for making it so obvious it was an overdub; it's like he knew what the fans wanted.
The Matterhorn Affair -- Yes, it's mostly ridiculous, but Napoleon and Illya's ice-cream date at the end makes it worth it
The Hot Number Affair -- we get this, enough said:
The Summit-Five Affair -- ANGST and a beautiful showcasing of Illya's undying loyalty to Napoleon.
The 'J' for Judas Affair -- this is an interesting one, a sort of look into what happens when the duo initially fails a mission and then have to pick up the pieces.
The Prince of Darkness Affair 1 & 2 -- ft. a new evil organization, Napoleon in disguise, and Illya finding Napoleon's disguise more attractive than he expected
The Deadly Quest Affair -- more undying loyalty!
The Gurnius Affair -- there's A LOT going on here
The Maze Affair -- More angst! More devotion!
The Deep Six Affair -- You gotta watch it for the ending. You gotta.
Oliver Queen and Bruce Wayne are childhood best friends.
Green Arrow hates Batmanās guts.
That animosityā and his aim to subtly piss Batman off at every turnā results in Green Arrow and Red Hood collaborating on a trafficking bust.
This somehow results in discovering that the Red Hood is his best friendās supposedly dead son.
Oliver doesnāt know how heās going to fix this, with Jason refusing to want anything to do with either Bruce or the Batman of Gotham (who everyone knows is dating the former)⦠but one thingās for sure:
He needs to bring the kid home. Oliver canāt bear to watch Bruce suffer any longer when the cause for it is sitting at his kitchen table, alive, and stuffing his face with waffles.
Reblogging for that tag; I, too, aspire to use media for nefarious homosexual purposes XD
THE FINAL PROBLEM - part 3 of many - part 1 - part 2 - "It was with some surprise, therefore, that I saw him walk into my consulting-room upon the evening of April 24th. It struck me that he was looking even paler and thinner than usual."
This is in the Watson's Sketchbook series!
Harry: And why shouldnāt I blame Spiderman for your injuries?? He calls himself a hero, protecting civilians like you should be his priority! Give me one good reason why I shouldnāt kick his ass for letting you get hurt!!
Peter: Because-
Newscaster on the tv next to Harry: In this footage you can see Peter Parker, known freelance photographer for the Daily Bugle, actually shove Dr. Doom out of his way while yelling āmove it or lose it,ā as he runs with his camera, presumably to capture more pictures of the vigilante known as āSpidermanā
Harry:
Peter: -Iām a dumbass.
Ok but this reads like the last log of a doomed voyage, I swear.
Spock Must Die? Of all ST books?! On the plus side, you won't have to worry about 'mistakenly' taking something as racist.
XD
Set out to read all (I know it's HUNDREDS) of the published Star Trek novels as a new hobby/reading challenge.
Started with Mission to Horatius by Mack Reynolds. Needless to say, it was... fascinating (?). There were some pretty backwards and outright racist themes throughout the book. Which kind of (not really) makes sense, as it was written in 1968. (I mean come on, why are we comparing Spock's physical features to satan? Multiple times?! Or, do I 'mistakenly' take it as racist because I'm naturally quick to think that Spock is Jewish coded because of Nimoy's portrayal? OR. MAYBE. We just don't characterize nice aliens as satanic?) I also didn't much enjoy the characterization of Jim. He didn't have the same compassion and empathy that I'm used to seeing in shows/movies and reading in fanfiction.
Also, while the United Federation of Planets āisn't a military entity' it's heavily written like one in this novel. Which goes to show the lack of radical and imaginative thinking of what a universe 'without social issues' would be. Even if thatās in a far off future where such issues are āoutdatedā.
Besides that, Bones, they could never make me hate you. The most sensible person inside that damn tin can. The Enterprise is toast without its good ol' country doctor ā¤ļø
I'm excited to read the other novels written by the different authors though! It's neat to see the varying interpretations of this universe and its characters! Next on the list is, Spock Must Die!
someone in the comment section on todays' page mentioned this and i couldn't get it out of my head.
Tiny alien gets a pet
She says, as though we are respectable patrons browsing for media, instead of ravenous hounds baying for more.
