I was reached out by @azaxa to spread their campaign. They are a Palestinian with two small children is trying to evacuate. So far €30,322/45,000 has been raised, which means they're getting closer to their goal. There's only €14,678 left to raise. For those that can, you know what to do. Link to the campaign down below.

Finally, because I'm tired of how the entire fandom, even the comics, specifically the new 52, easily portrays Jason's struggling family as abusive. Because isn't it a good thing that he gets adopted by the richest man in Gotham rather than his shitty.
Willis Todd was a hardworking father who had to deal with horrible circumstances, and Catherine was a sick woman who needed to allievate her pain.
Alright. Willis Todd being an abusive father to Jason is a trope often utilized. Comparing this version of him to Bruce's reactions to Red Hood is fantastic. Lots to analyze there.
However, I raise you. There needs to be more fanwork addressing the classism behind Willis Todd being characterized as an abusive alcoholic. In some version of canon, Willis Todd was a good dad in a shitty situation. He was poor, his wife (Catherine) was sick, and he had a newborn baby he needed to provide for. In this horrid situation, where he has no family to fall back on and no higher education to obtain a decent well-paying job, he tries to get quick money. He's desperate to keep both his wife and son alive.
Catherine turns to drugs because it's easier and cheaper to buy drugs than healthcare. The pain she experiences is debilitating, and she'd do anything to not feel pain for one godsdamned second. Unfortunately, this turns into an addiction.
This ultimately shapes the way that Jason views crime. Bruce, while he may be sympathetic to individuals who resort to crime to pay their bills, will not understand huddling in Crime Alley in the dead of winter as he debates whether to buy food or pay for heating. He won't understand the bitterness, hatred, pain, and resignation of never having enough money to survive as you get chewed up again and again.
If Jason's dad is just an abusive criminal, that not only perpetuates the notion that all criminals are evil, but it will shape how Jason views those who commit crime. Breaking the law doesn't make someone bad. There's plenty of reasons people commit crime, whether to survive, protect someone, or something else. The issue, especially in Gotham, is the system that perpetuates wealth inequality through bribes and unethical governmental practices.
Anyway, I think Jason's Red Hood is more fleshed out if it accounts for him acknowledging the desperation behind goons and small-time criminals because he grew up without other options.
Focusing on the Ovid version of Medusa is not only inaccurate to actual Greek mythology but also decentres the actual victims of the story; Danea and Andromeda. The actual greek version of Medusa was a born monster, not a victim. Focus on the actual victims of Greek myths rather than making new ones.
Plus, perseus wasn't a violent sociopath, he was a young man in a horrible circumstance trying to protect his mother from an abuser that had significant power over them.
something. about. the horror of being sent on an impossible (death) quest and obligations and hospitality politics. the trauma of not having a home, and then the trauma of being in a house that becomes actively hostile to you, one that would swallow you whole and spit out your bones if you step out of line. all of this is conditional, your existence continues to be something men want gone.
it's about going back as far as I can with the perseus narrative because there's always a version of a myth that exists behind the one that survives. the missing pieces are clearly defined, but the oldest recorded version of it isn't there! and there's probably something older before that!! but it's doomed to forever be an unfilled space, clearly defined by an outline of something that was there and continues to be there in it's absence.
and love. it's also about love. even when you had nothing, you had love.
on the opposite side of the spectrum, this is Not About Ovid Or Roman-Renaissance Reception, Depictions And Discourses On The Perseus Narrative.

#Urgent | UNRWA Commissioner-General:
That inevitable moment during comic reading where you realize that the Batman Fandom on any and all platforms is completely insufferable and should not be allowed near any other part of the DC Universe.
I thought Wally and Dick were like the biggest best friends in the history of ever. They are not, They are good friends that do love each other but I have seen more sexual tension between Dick and literally any other male character he interacts with. And Wally gets five hundred times more interesting when he isn't forced to be Dick Grayson's taxi service.
Roy needs a restraining order for Jason Todd. I cannot begin how horrifically N52 massacred Roy's entire character and how badly Jason treats him.
And Hal Jordan needs a restraining order for every single BatLantern shipper out there because that is one of the most abuse coded "relationships" I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. Bruce is downright VILE towards Hal and it is not in a fun "enemy to lovers" way but in a "he hit me and I let him" way.
Hell, even the Supers need to be kept away from the Batfam and the Batfam Stans. The only one that is not more interesting solo is Jon but that's because he is a piece of cardboard.
THIS. THIS. THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN TRYING TO ARGUE SINCE. ZUTARA STANS WILL BE CLAIMING THAT AANG WAS WEAK AND SHOULD HAVE KILLED OZAI WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING HIS CHARACTER AND MOTIVES. ESPECIALLY THE CULTURAL CONTEXT OF WHO HE IS AND HOW IT WOULD AFFECT HIM.
It’s time for people in the fanbase to finally accept that Aang was in complete control of the avatar state in that battle with Ozai. He was furious and his rage is clear as day, and he had every right to be. It’s tired to see people crediting Aang’s anger to Kyoshi or whatever all the time. The jokes are funny, but not here, not in this battle.
Aang enters the avatar state right after Ozai says this to him: “You’re weak, just like the rest of your people. They did not deserve to exist in this world, in my world. Prepare to join them—prepare to die.”
Aang reaches out from under those rocks and grabs Ozai, and then when Ozai tries to burn his face in the face place he burned his own son, Aang smacks his hand away and then blasts him into a rock pillar with airbending, the first element he uses against him once in the avatar state is the same element Ozai just called weak. There’s a reason Aang surrounds himself with an air bubble, and there’s a reason Aang’s airbending is so violent and unrelenting in this fight. He literally airbends so violently that he erodes a rock pillar all the way through in like 2 seconds. It’s a blatant display of the power airbending actually possesses, a big fuck you to Ozai who starts running away like a coward.
Aang is coming face to face with a man whose family line is directly responsible for wiping out his entire race of people, his entire culture. They took everything from him. He had nothing but Appa and the clothes on his back and his glider. That was it. That was all that was left of their genocide, a genocide justified by the view that Air Nomads were undeserving of life, that they were the weakest of all the nations. Imagine how full of rage he must have been. And still, he does not kill him. Not because he can’t, but because he won’t let the Fire Nation complete their genocide against the Air Nomads, he won’t allow himself to be robbed of his own culture, a culture that exists through him only, now. I feel like people really just don’t understand Aang’s character, and they definitely never give him the credit or praise he deserves.
oc x canon ships are so cute I dont care I love seeing people ship their ocs with their favourite character they look ADORABLE
Even if it's only 5 dollars. Everything helps
Hello🙋♀️,
my name is Saja from northern Gaza, and finally after a long wait of a year and a half of hunger, displacement, fear, bombing and displacement several times, they agreed on a ceasefire🥹 and we will return to our homes next week, but unfortunately our area is completely destroyed💔, and we do not have a home or anything else there, but despite that we are happy that we will return to our area and neighborhood, please we are now in dire need of donations more than ever, so that we can live in stability in the next stage, please donate an amount even if it is small, it will help us build our lives and stability 🥹🙏 I hope that God will protect your family from all harm🙏💞
Hey everyone, my name is Abdelmajed. I don’t usually talk much about myself, but today, I want to share a little piece of my story.
I was born and raised in Gaza, a place that has always been my home 🏡. I grew up surrounded by my family, my friends, and the streets that I knew like the back of my hand. Life wasn’t always easy, but we had love, laughter, and dreams. I used to think that no matter what happened, home would always be here. But life has a way of changing things in ways we never expect.
Over the past months, everything I once knew has disappeared. The streets that were once filled with children playing are now silent. The houses that held so many memories are now just rubble. And the people I loved—some of them are gone forever. 💔
And I'm now waiting to be Vetted by @gazavetters 🙏
