I picked the right time to get in my MCD feels. Now I just need to find the time and will power to rewatch the whole series
they thought school was for only ONE day
they MAD! 😬 /ref
Do you ever think about how the watchers, as they are defined by Grian, would be the most powerful force in the universe?
I mean, watchers are.. us. We are watchers. Which is Duh, of course we are but its a bit more complex than that. Watchers would be classified as Gods which exist OUTSIDE of the universe: you know the end poem that’s basically ‘you are the universe and the universe is you’ basically watchers are disconnected. Because when we watch a video we aren’t IN the video thus making us, not apart of the universe.
How does this make watchers the most powerful forces of all? Well, in a traditional sense it wouldn’t.
They don’t have very much affect on the world as people inside it do, thus watching it unfold and only being able to give warnings through forms of voices, comments, chats etc. If this were the case this would make Technos voices and Phils crows to be watchers in disguise and this would actually be very plausible.
I mean when we join a minecraft world we look.. as regular as a player can be: no robes or wings as the statues depict them in Evo. We just look.. like a regular player. Like watchers visiting as guests taking on human forms to blend in such as that subscriber who visited Evo because they won a contest. A watcher in disguise.
Grians appearance changes after becoming a watcher if you go by Evo timeline terms, becoming more plain looking and less evo looking. More like a human to hide his less than human godlike origins.
If you think about it Watchers would be more powerful than the Goddess of Death Kristin almost. I mean, we as watchers basically made her god, she wasn’t apart of the SMP naturally we just decided it. We has watchers gave her that power the same way we gift godhood to other characters in the form of headcanons: but its rare these actually come into affect.
Its like a story of ancient gods being shut off from everything to avoid abusing their power. I mean, in EVO watchers for the first time ever seen actually interacted with the world in the form of signs, riddles, games, puzzles, punishments and even sending an asteroid flying into a building in the main spawn area. If thats not proof enough that if watchers were given the power of free control over their main worlds they would be the most powerful force in the multiverse.
Honestly if the watchers sent an asteroid into a building who’s to say they didn’t make moon big happen. Just a thought. I mean the moon falling? Grians old skin being Link? Watchers being directly connected by the recent Last Life with Martyns lore who also conveniently had moon lore. It was all a coincidence but y’know. Still plausible.
What we make in the form of AUS just proves this fact, we mess with the timeline but we can never rewrite or alter the original. Evo is unique BECAUSE its altered by the watchers actions and their decisions: taking Grian away from Evo to become a watcher, whether of his own free will or kidnapped, could’ve caused the original fate of Evo to shift. Altering the future events in a sense.
Watchers would be more powerful than Kristin, DreamXD, Aeor and Exor. They exist in a universe and have to abide by its rules. Watchers however, dont.
The watching quality of it is also very accurate because they really do see everything but they can pick and choose. Watchers know about Tommys Exile but others don't, if they so choose to know everyone they can.
The ability to rewatch old videos and storylines also implies the watchers really can Time travel and thats were they get their ability to send the Evolutionists further into versions, we time travel with watching content all the time. Screw Watchers living in the End or the Void put them in the Aether or Outerspace those would be better fits for these anomalies, since once doesn’t exist and the other is replaced by the void meaning that outerspace the way we know it doesn’t exist. Maybe because we know it though, thats why is DOES exist. See what I mean by complex now?
What are listeners then? What would that mean for Grian if he were still a watcher as Last Life seems to imply. Its all so interesting I’d love to see discussion on this; sorry if any of this repeated or if my grammar is awful I am very sleep deprived and am thinking very self existentially.
Just thought that watchers are associated with time travel and sight of everything. Grian was admin of a time travelling server, he owned a time machine that could to back to Alpha which is conveniently where Evo was before, he has a rift in S9 that literally bends worlds and has a very similar aura and feel to the old portals to travel through updates, with clues as well like the watchers would do. Woah.
TL;DR: We are watchers, were fucking stacked because we can see fucking everything if we choose, if Grian is a watcher he'd be the BAMF-est bitch ever and would be stronger than the Goddess of Death and DreamXD and Aeor and such since he can interact with the world unlike other watchers.
Man, I got carried away. Discussion anyone?
If Bad Boys sounds like a name made by kids on the playground, and Cleo’s team is just playing house, and Impulse giving Bdubs a clock feels like a kindergarten marriage…is this ENTIRE season just a big playground game of pretend at recess?? Did Jimmy push Tango off the tire tower and immediately apologize because he felt bad?? Is Bdubs’ boogey kill the equivalent of someone telling him he’s the bad guy, and him pointing at Skizz and going “BANG! You’re dead!” because like - that would make so much fckn sense honestly.
It’s recess, boys, and they’re pulling out EVERY game in the playground handbook
green to red
I feel like the permit office should have it’s own SCP classification cuz there is something wrong with that building. Idk what it is but it is something
What if double life went way different? Here are my thoughts (click read more... it's a lot)
Check out my stuff on AO3!
Tango and Bdubs team up, and Tango has a really really hard time trusting Bdubs after last life. The tension in the beginning of their season is rough, and everyone is super worried they might kill each other before any reds get a chance. Eventually though, while Tango is getting into a very sticky situation involving Grian, Jimmy, and a couple of wardens, Bdubs puts himself in the middle of it and saved them both from turning red. After this, Tango trusts Bdubs a lot more and even allows him to *checks notes* sleep in the same bed? Uh oh, thats a little fruity. They uh *checks notes again* talk about last time and how Bdubs actually felt/feels horrible about killing Tango? And whoop! Turns out Tango isnt really mad at Bdubs as much as he though he was, and decides to try and understand Bdub's side because he never had the boogey curse, and he has no idea what it was like. They end up teaming with a yellow Etho after they are red to bring a Warden up and it kills Cleo, but then ultimately die after Cleo gets their revenge.
Jimmy is.... well, he dies first. His soulmate is Martyn, but he quickly forgets all about Jimmy after Ren asks to team up. For the first couple days of the series, Jimmy is alone, and he has a rough time about it. While mining, he comes across Etho, whose soulmate is Grian. Etho decides to take pity on the poor Jimmy, knowing that Grian would be alright with having his brother under their wings (literally), and invites him to team with Grian and himself, and they form an alliance that soon evolves into a strong friendship. Grian is a little wary at first, knowing Jimmy's record of trouble won't do him and his soulmate any good, but after Jimmy jumps in front of a trap made my Joel and Pearl to save his brother, he becomes just a little bit more supportive of the alliance. As Etho and Jimmy grow closer, Grian is drifting to Scar, whose soulmate, like Jimmy's, abandoned him for Martyn. Grian, Scar, Jimmy, and Etho make it to be the last yellow and greens on the server, but after a deep dark trip gone wrong (the same one that Bdubs died in), Jimmy is killed and is forced to team up with Martyn again. Etho is torn to shreds about losing his friend, and Grian "accidentally" kills them twice in one session so that Etho and Jimmy could be on the same team again. Etho only gets to talk to Jimmy for a little bit before Joel sneaks up and kills Jimmy a final time, and Etho's rage (accompanied by Grian's) carries him all the way into the finale, where him and Grian are the last of two standing.
Martyn and Ren feel like they can win the entire thing without their soulmates. Martyn has no attachment to Jimmy, knowing that he's just going to kill them first anyway. But when he meets Ren in the woods at spawn, they form another alliance quite similar to the one two games ago. Ren is a little more reluctant to completely alienate his soulmate, but after Scar kills them by falling off a cliff into the ravine, he decides enough is enough, and fully leaves their base to go be with Martyn. Martyn was there when Jimmy got killed by the Warden, but he figured his soulmates' new friends would be able to save him. With Martyn red and Ren yellow, they team back up with Jimmy, and two other red names Impulse and Cleo, to set up traps and extort armor off of other players. Eventually, both Ren and Etho turn red, and Martyn once again leaves Jimmy to stay with Ren, knowing Etho could take care of his ridiculous soulmate. When Martyn dies out of nowhere, Ren is there to witness it, and watches with horror as his partner dies from invisible axe blows on the floor. Ren doesn't survive much longer after that, as Scar kills them both soon after.
Pearl and Joel are teamed up and almost immediately die. Not only are they the first deaths on the server only after a couple hours of being there, but they are also the first Red names after an unfortunate tussle with an enderman. They both have a love for TNT, and almost immediately form a monopoly on sugar cane and sand (theres only so much of it, and Joel had a diamond shovel he found in the deep dark). Their traps turn out to be mostly successful, getting many teams down to red within weeks. Their friendship was not one of intimacy, both feeling the whole lovey dovey baloney was ridiculous. Instead, their friendship was one of trust and respect, and when Etho came back for revenge for Jimmy, Joel and Pearl both knew that they would never win. Instead, they hugged and laughed before diving into the fight. There last words were not ones of pain, but ones of pride.
Impulse and Cleo team up, and they are just.... the funniest duo on the sever hands down. Cleo threatens everyone immediately and Impulse just backs them up like a shitty hype man. Examples include: "I cant wait til I'm red so I can kill you." "You heard her! Don't mess with us!" With an additional funky hype man-y hand motion. They team up with Scott and BigB, and Impulse is just so out of his element with the group but loves every second of it. Cleo and Impulse quickly realize their relationship might be a little bit more than friends, and that elevates when Scott and BigB join their team. They form a makeshift polycule, but obviously don't have time to experience their feelings for each other fully in the death game. Their first death is caused by the Warden that Etho, Tango and Bdubs brought up to the surface, and the first thing Cleo does is kill Tango and Bdubs, which Impulse at first has a hard time accepting. They work it out though, and Impulse and Cleo make it to the final 3 teams left, but are killed after Cleo accidentally traps herself in a waterlogged hole and can't get out.
Scott and BigB are the kings of the Nether. They figure no one would try to hurt them there, so their main base and storage (and really safehaven) is that. They only die once to the Nether, after a piglin spots Scott without gold on, but other than that it actually protects them quite well. While Scar is on red, he actually attempts to kill them in the nether, but because the boys are used to the sticky terrain, they managed to trip Scar off the cliff and into the lava ocean, ending his and Ren's series instantly. They're one of the first teams to turn red though, but stay on red for a while before being killed by Pearl and Joel. They bond over the past life series and their friendship connections, and form a strong relationship that lasts throughout the next series and beyond.
Grian and Etho are, well, it's kinda complicated. They try to go for the whole romantic soulmates thing, but quickly realize it was a horrible, horrible idea. Etho brings home Jimmy one day, and Grian knows Etho has already fallen for his little brother. He finds Scar the same way Etho found Jimmy, and they all base up in a hole on the corner of the map. While Scar is.... distant, Grian attempts to mend their relationship after the two life series, and Scar slowly begins to come back to his normal (insane) self. When Jimmy turned Red and Etho was reeling, Grian had to make the tough choice to turn red without Scar, leaving him to fend for himself with Tango and Bdubs for a bit until they are reunited. When Scar turns red, he confronts Grian about it all, and Grian admits to abandoning him so that Etho and Jimmy could be together instead of them to (they had third life, it was time for Grian to do something nice for someone else for once). When Jimmy dies, both Grian and Etho are enraged and upset, and Grian's anger is only added to after Scar dies in the Nether. Etho helps Grian kill Scott and BigB and they end up causing a lot of yellow names to turn red. During the final fight between them, Joel, and Pearl, Grian steps back and allows Etho to take his revenge.

Anyway! Hi :) I was in the middle of making this What If post when my acc got deleted but now it's finished! There might be some plot holes I tried to make it make as much sense as possible, but basically I just wanted to make up my own silly double life series with as much if not more angst than the og! It's fun to create alternate realities and since the multiverse is real, I can do that! Wahoo!
Enjoy :)
