Y’all Really Weren’t Listening When Taylor Said So I Wander Through These Nights, I Prefer Hiding

Remember how Taylor wrote poems and they had pressed flowers on them?

From a young age, Emily Dickinson collected and pressed flowers and included them in a book she kept, and also poems she wrote. She became a lifelong gardener and often included dried flowers in her letters. Nature and botany were important subjects in her poetry.

my sweet tender lovely friends I think I made a breakthrough. so we know that orange has something to do with kaylor and representing Karlie (context here and here), but we’ve always wondered WHY. well I think I’m on to something!!

i was in a bookstore the other day, walked down the aisle, and BAM out of nowhere saw this book:

??????????!!!!!!!?!? OBVIOUSLY kaylor has all sorts of Big Sur references (road trip, Taylor saying you should take your wife to Big Sur, etc.), so this PLUS oranges?!

And most importantly we have the meaning of the oranges here:

We know that paradise comes up a TON in Taylors music, and there are even a lot of theories that her 6th album was going to be titled Paradise, before she changed plans and created Reputation. (see here)

What is SO interesting is Miller’s view of paradise - said beautifully in this quote:

Karlie is paradise for Taylor, but their love has some BIG flaws….mostly being the bearding and the k*$hnerds. But it’s their hurdles that keep drawing them in more and more, and making them commit again and again, and keeping things interesting. 

(fyi that is not healthy relationship behavior!!! obstacles dont equal chemistry)

It’s also worth noting that the artwork referenced, the garden of earthly delights, is positioned between heaven and hell, again imagery that Taylor uses a lot 

“Hell was the journey but it brought me heaven”, etc.

So that brings us to the orange girl in YNTCD. She is in her garden of earthly delights, surrounded by her oranges, but she is alone, the flaw of her paradise.

Also want to include this wonderful quote that I think really relates to Taylor’s battle with her masters and generally how she is beholden to the business side of music (including bearding) rather than the art side of it:

Did you ever realize how in the Lover video Taylor 'lassoed' her lover like a cowboy would do? And then how Karlie posted on IG 6/25/19 "My Cowboy" (wyoming stunt that had a bunch of rich business people there, not friends), and then the Lover video came out on 9/22/19 so Taylor was nodding to that? How Karlie's a cowboy like her, conning all the rich folks? I swear to god these women! They've got some tricks up their sleeve, takes one to know one! Bandits riding away into the sunset.

😳 Remember on the Wyoming trip when Derek posted that video of Katy singing ‘one of these things is not like the other’ in a country voice and then panning to Karlie on a horse? Then the YNTCD video with Katy and Taylor coming out days prior on June 17th?
