Headcanon that one time Dick got so pissed off at Bruce that he anonymously told a reporter that Bruce Wayne had a crush on Batman but Batman rejected him.
Do you guys ever truly think about how young Dick and Damian were as Robin? Like Jason and Tim were extremely young too but they were early teens late tweens. But Dick was 9 and Damian was 10, like they were still getting visits from the Tooth Fairy.
Oh Stephanie Brown, you deserve so much better than what this fandom (and canon) gives you.
someone tell me how to talk about my interests like i don't care TOO much if the other person is listening

Hi! I’m Quinn and I have a goal to watch and rank every single DC animated movie! I’ve watch over 20 so far but I just started posting my thoughts on Tumblr. Because I’ve watched so many, I decided to just post about the ones I’m currently watching! But, if you see a movie on my list that you want me to cover, just leave a comment or something or ask in my inbox!
Anywho:
In my quest to watch all the DC animated movies, my next watch was Batman Vs Robin!
Spoilers!!!!
I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. I wasn’t the biggest Damian Wayne fan coming into this movie but honestly? This movie gave me more appreciation for him. I was honestly shocked to find out most people felt differently. A lot of people on letterbox’d were saying their opinion on Damian didn’t shift much.
I think that Bruce’s attitude shift towards Damian lacked some build up, it was definitely there but I felt there could’ve been more. In the movie’s defense, it’s only 80 minutes and there’s a lot of plot to cover. This being said, I LOVED THEIR INTERACTIONS. Oh my gosh it was so cute. Like that’s literally his baby.
DC does better with the pacing in this movie than it does with others. The middle kinda straggles a bit but the last third of the movie is so good it’s honestly worth it.
I also want to take a moment to appreciate the fight scenes. God this movie had such epic fight scenes. Even the sparring match between Dick and Damian was peak. Watching Dick fight was especially fun because they really utilized his acrobatic skills!
A couple of other things I want to add, I did not like the soundtrack. A lot of the music felt out of place and almost like something you’d hear in a YouTube video.
There was one specific plot line that didn’t add up, Bruce had a girlfriend who ended up being part of the court of owls, and she was two timing Bruce with Talon. Long story short Talon killed her, we never got a reaction from Bruce because he never found out, but it did feel like the two of them dating did absolutely nothing for the plot. It didn’t add any emotional stake or any sense of betrayal because…he just never knew? Honestly she could’ve just not been a member of the court and the story would’ve more or less stayed the same. It felt like she was thrown in as a last minute plot twist.
This is real nitpicky of me, but I want to comment on Damian’s relationship with Talon. There were no hints that Talon was manipulating Damian other than Bruce outright saying “Damian, he’s manipulating you” which does the job but I think there could’ve been a few more subtle hints dropped.
This movie may not be the best technical wise or from a writing point of view, but it’s so fun I don’t even care. his movie is probably definitely in my top 5 so far!

You can see my thoughts on Justice League: Throne of Atlantis here:
My next watch: Batman Bad Blood
The other day on TikTok I saw someone say that Tim is the only Robin Jason considers his brother and that’s just??? Not true??? So here are some moments between Dick and Jason to prove!
I tried to find some stuff on Damian and Jason but I couldn’t find much other than that panel where Damian tricks Jason by hugging him. Please DC let them have some sort of moment, I beg.
Honestly I do love the dynamic between Tim and Jason but a lot of it IS fanon! While I would love for their relationship to be better explored it lacks the depth that I feel Dick and Jason have (only because I feel like we don’t get enough of them in canon) Honestly Tim just needs character development. Let him age PLEASE.
I feel like there are 10 flavors of shippers in this fandom
- no you can’t ship that ship?? It’s so problematic (there is a 2 year age gap)
- yeah Bruce prolly fucks his kids who also fuck each other
- why are you shipping fanon?? Why does everything have to be gay?? Enough with the gay stuff
- problematic non incest ships (slade Wilson and Dick, Talia and Jason, Tim and Ra’s) I call this one the Freud would sell his soul to interview you tier
- stuck on one ship that hasn’t been canon in years or only happened in a tv show or else world story
- Batkids x miraculous ladybug or Danny phantom
- why love triangle when they can all hold hands (everything is a polycule)
-why love triangle when the women can just date each other and abandon the mediocre man (gayyay subgenre exists where the women leave their boyfriends to date each other and then the boyfriends also date each other)
- quietly ships current canon and lives their lives
-all queer ships, canon! Fanon! Who cares? Two bisexuals of opposite genders is fine but it has to have pizzaz
Tag yourself or add anything that I missed!
Thinking about all the heroes that little Grayson gave baby fever to as Robin
I decided to watch all the DC animated movies and rank + review them! The most recent one I watched was Justice League Throne of Atlantis. Here’s my notes on it!
(SPOILER WARNING!!!)
My thoughts:
Honestly the movie was okay, it’s decent but it’s not really all that. DC definitely has better movies out there. I think my favorite thing about this particular series is the dynamic between Batman and Green Lantern. This says a lot because I actually hate Green Lantern after being subjected to Green Lantern First Flight and Green Lantern Emerald Knight. I also really liked the characterization of Cyborg. Shockingly enough, in my honest opinion, the weakest character in Throne of Atlantis WAS Aquaman. They didn’t flesh him out enough for me to really care. I think a big thing I’ve noticed with DC is they tend to either rush straight into action with the movie slowing down halfway through, or the first half of the movie is slow and then it picks up. They haven’t found a good middle ground but you could probably blame the pacing on how short these movies are. This all being said, it’s not a bad movie! I wasn’t sitting there thinking to myself “God can this movie finish already?” the way I was during the Green Lantern movies.
My notes and my current ranking!
Follow me on Letterboxd @quinny42069!
I’ll probably only post them as I watch them because if I’m being completely honest, I don’t remember enough about a lot of them to post about because I watched a lot of them over the Summer. But if there is a specific one anyone wants me to go over, then just let me know and I’ll try and find a recap to jog my memory a bit! I’ll also try to post about the ones I remember the most! I do have notes on all of them but they’re more reactions to the movie rather than on the quality.
Y’all remember when Jason missed Dick so he dressed up as Nightwing and started killing people and then he ended up turning into an octopus?
