I often think about how loneliness is a more powerful emotion in theatre because you’re in a room full of people who all powerless to do anything but watch and I saw Eva Noblaza as Eurydice in Hadestown the other day and I cannot get her guttural “is anybody listening” out of my mind, she was screaming for someone to listen and you’re sat there mere metres away unable to let her know that you are, that her story is being told and she matters, so many people are listening but she doesn’t know that
i've never seen a more disgusted live chat than when the prince took a whiff of that shoe. truly a defining moment.
The funniest part of Ekko going to the alt timeline is how he casually and accidentally reminds everyone of the most traumatic things to happen to them
Like imagine you go to your future-son-in-law's graduation party after presumably knowing him for years and just not seeing him for a couple months and the FIRST thing he says to you is "remember when your husband tried to fucking murder you" LIKE???
Also, imagine your bf/situationship/lab partner/ best friend, who has spent time with you nearly every day for years and KNOWS how your sister died just starts suddenly being like "Your sister died? How did it happen? DID YOU MURDER HER?"
I love you Ekko you are very smart but "reading the room" is not one of your many skills lmfao
Rancilda and Putrice are autistic because their Mother is able to act human pretty easily, meanwhile they still act pretty much the same way they do as trolls. 'Hi my name is Putrice, it means 'vomit inducing' 'And I'm...not supposed to say anything.' These girls have little to no masking game.

I finished putting together the Irish-American heritage month display and Jesus CHRIST there are so few books about Ireland in our collection?? Once more, I must say:
I just read Phantom of the Opera today (By Gaston Leroux) and I feel really weird trying to engage with the online content because the book is my only reference for the story but I know the phantom is changed to be a proper romantic option in the musical/movie while in the book he is literally the toxic asshole to say he is going to kill himself if you break up with him. Except he is also gonna blow up an opera house and kill everyone else too.
So keep being taken aback by seeing so many people be like "Christine should have chosen the Phantom" "The Phantom was so romantic" because i am just here like "YOU MEAN THE DERANGED ABUSIVE MURDERER MAN?!?!" "WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?!?!?"
Talking to people who aren’t REALLY into classics sucks sometimes bc it’s understandable enough yk, acquired taste and all that, but also it’s like I SWEAR I’m not being pretentious by saying my favourite novels are Frankenstein/Dracula/Les Misérables THEY GENUINELY ARE 😭 IM GENUINELY ATTACHED TO THE CHARACTERS AND GENUINELY HAVE REREAD THEM MULTIPLE TIMES (except for Les Mis. I am… still not finished my first read it’s a long-ass book ok man leave me be) AND IM GENUINELY EXTREMELY ARTISTICALLY INSPIRED BY THEM ALL IM SORRY I am but a simple history nerd who genuinely likes reading about old men with psychological problems and almost-human-cryptids that are metaphors 🙏🙏
I feel like Putrice and Rancilda are really clumsy in human form, and because of that they both fell down the stairs at least once at the ball.
