Dates may Vary due to year, and multiple sources I have found have different dates
Yule (December 20-23): The winter equinox and when days become shorter. People begin to make preparations for the cold months and decorate trees with many cold weather foods to symbolize the continument of life in winter.
Imbolc (Febuary 2nd): “The promise of Spring” this is a time typically when sheep would begin to lactate, meaning they were pregnant. A time of celebration for the coming spring and crops and animals would be blessed. The goddess Bridgid would be honored as she symolizes fertility.
Ostara (March 19-22): The spring equinox and a celebration of the beginning of spring! Some easter traditions come from Ostara.
Beltane (May 1st): The festival of Fire and Mayday, the halfway between spring an summer, the weather is getting warmer for most! A time to be greatful for the gifts of Spring and many celebrate on Beltane Eve with big bonfires and on my first with flower crowns and may poles. Beltane is considered by many to be a holiday where the veil between worlds is very thin.
Litha (June 19-23): The summer solstice! Days are long enough for work and play and many announce engagements during this time and many continue for a full Harvest.
Lughnasadh(August 1st): Symolizing the first harvest and the midway point between summer and autumn. When many get married and celebrate this time with breads and fruits made available by the harvest. A time for gratitude.
Mabon (September 21-24): The autumn Equinox and the holiday we are enjoying right now! A celebration of the harvest and preparations for the winter soon to come. Celebrates abundance and the good reaped from labor.
Samhain (Oct 31- Nov 1): ITS HALLOWEEN! Annnd the witches new year. One of the most important holidays where the veil between worlds is thin. A time to honor loved ones, friends, familiars, and pets who have passed on. A very powerful time where one may focus on guidance, clearance of negative energy, and the beginning of a positive new year.
Happy Witching!
I believe in every single one of you following your dreams and achieving your goals. you have the power to change your life and I know it’s a cliché but anything that can happen to you is possible only if you let it. Paint your nails. Doesn’t matter if you’re good at it or not. It’s a quiet, calming, easy activity that takes up the perfect amount of time for a break and still requires some amount of focus. Put on a Youtube video or Netflix while you do it.
Watch a John Oliver video. If you don’t know him, he’s a comedian and host of Last Week Tonight on HBO. His pieces are hilarious, informative, and all around 15-20 minutes.
Change the sheets on your bed. Changing your sheets often is good for your skin, still technically productive, and who doesn’t love snuggling up in a fresh bed after a long day?
While you’re at it, clean your space. It’ll get you on your feet and again, still technically being productive.
Make yourself something to drink. I hate to be that blogger™ but Stay hydrated, loves! No energy drinks, if you need something more exciting. We are adults in this household, we get our caffeine like adults. Always go tea or coffee.
Take a nap. There are legends that if you drink a coffee before you take a nap, the caffeine will wake you up naturally a little bit later and you’ll feel super energized. That sounds fake but idk knock yourselves out.
Put on an RIP Vine compilation and dissociate for a bit. I’m not kidding.
Take a shower. Or just stand there under the hot water a bit. You’ll feel like a new being.
Know that you are a boss
Seriously
You got this and I believe in you
Christmas is coming up and many of us have put our Christmas trees up, but its not too late to do this cute and fun activity for the family.
diy dried orange ornaments 🍊✨🌲
what you will need:
🍊 oranges
🍊 an oven
🍊 a cookie sheet/sheet pan
🍊 foil (optional to bake them on)
🍊 string, twine or ribbon
🍊 a (thick) needle
🍊 various other herbs like cloves, cinnamon sticks, cranberries, etc are also optional if you’d like to add them! look up some correspondents if you wish to specify what exactly you’d like these ornaments to represent.
how to create them:
🌲 start by slicing some oranges! around ¾ of an inch, you don’t want them too thick in order to keep the baking time decently short! (try your best to keep them uniform in size)
🌲 once sliced, dab them off with a paper towel to get rid of a smidge of the extra juice. but, do not SQUISH it out! just gently tap the towel onto the slices.
🌲lay them out on a baking sheet, lined with foil if you wish, and bake them at 225 degrees fahrenheit, checking and flipping them every hour. by doing that and opening the oven, it will let the moisture out and let them dry better! they can take up to four hours to fully dry, but keep checking in to assure they don’t burn!
🌲 use your needle to poke a hole into the center top of the slices once they are completely cooled! depending on the string you chose to use, you may have to stretch a decently sized hole.
🌲 before you tie a knot, decide if you want to add other herbs or decorations! now is the time to tie them onto the ribbon. i personally love the addition of cinnamon sticks.
🌲 now is also the time (if you wish to do so) bless the ornaments! with a protection spell, healing spell, anything you’d like to welcome a bit more of into your home.
🌲 and finally, USE THEM! hang them on the tree, give them out as gifts, tie them onto presents for your friends and family.
i hope you enjoyed this one lovelies! enjoy your beautiful ornaments, i’d love to see pictures if you decide to make your own. blessed be 🧡
