One of my favorite universes to make up is a mild crossover between League canon and Arcane canon where Jayce and Viktor are cousins with their League counterparts, with the League versions being older.

Not only because the Arcane and League versions are very different and it's really fun to make different stories and dynamics with them all, but because of 2 things

1) Making comparisons and contrasts with the Jayces and Viktors, like how they relate with the family dynamics (like how cousins with the same name absolutely need different nicknames to be told apart or how they look somehow completely different but the same man in different fonts)

2) How Vikjayce somehow ends up being less catastrophically messy by comparison to Jayvik, despite the much worse starting point as the only people who can stand the other's ego

yeah idk which jayce would be worse in the other’s universe. giopara in the arcane lore would be so completely unprepared for that viktor’s softness. he’d see his uncovered face (when did that mask replace him in his mind’s eye? he can’t remember.) and curse jayce talis until the end of time for having what he can’t (what he’s too prideful to work for).

but talis in LoL lore??? Girl it’s over. he sees the machine herald and recognizes viktor by his soldering. his heart would break a thousand times over. he’d see his augments and wonder how he could have missed that viktor was hurting to the point that he’d REPLACE himself? and he’d curse giopara until the end of time for missing the signs and letting things get like this.

machine herald viktor would be SO fucking confused and arcane viktor would be side eyeing giopara incredibly hard

I wondered if Cybertronians and Frieza's soldiers ever run into each other in space. (I like to imagine Raditz sitting in a waiting room for therapy (by our favorite counselor Nappa of course) and Starscream is just waiting in the same room trying to sit on human sized furniture and read human sized magazines)

I could wax poetic about why Viktor's League backstory is inherently more interesting and more thematically resonant than where they went with him in Arcane season 2, but the cold hard truth is

a man covered in grease and probably blood who builds his own body out of scraps with his own two hands, can in fact build any contraption out of dinted metal sheets and a few screws including a deathray, performs deeply inadvisable operations on desperate but consenting people with his own tools, generates a cult following against his wishes because of his ability to inadvisably help people but the power's all his now anyway so he may as well, wants to clean up and save the undercity but is (only sort of) misunderstood as a walking Geneva Convention violation a freak and a supervillain, torments his arch-nemesis on at least a weekly basis and probably homoerotically hunts him for sport, had his life's work misattributed to people in the ruling class and is angry and tragic about it forever, tries to rip out his own emotions and is unsuccessful but pretends like he was not, is actually oddly kind to children, and is at the end of the day still just some guy,

is just hotter okay

can anyone recommend me any original lore fics? It’s just really hard to find any that are about Jayce who is STILL Giopara. I’m mourning over the machine herald re work. And the Jayce Giopara erasure so I just need some good fics
