can you imagine the poor people who had to go figure out what happened on Crockett Island, though
like obviously there’s been a catastrophic fire, so they’re prepared for the worst, but what they find is way, way weirder than ‘the worst’
there are bodies in some of the houses, sure, burned past recognition or to the point where their cause of death would be obvious. but there are also bodies … outside? in the roads or the public areas? and some of them may be a little damaged by fire but they obviously died from having their throats ripped out??? and the sheriff is on the beach, dead of a gunshot wound??? the town doctor also died of a gunshot wound but she’s in a completely different place on the island (and her body was obviously moved there after her death)????
and overall there are just nowhere near as many bodies as there should be? Crockett Island had a population of just about 120 people but there are only, say, 70-80 bodies???? where did everybody else go????
and the only two survivors are two teenagers who are just like “uh, yeah, we took a romantic canoe trip. we weren’t on the island. we have no idea what happened.” (and one of them is paralyzed from the waist down? you don’t think the guy with her could have carried her out to the beach to get her in the canoe but he must have, right????)
just, can you even imagine. the buzzfeed unsolved episode. about Crockett Island.
Parallels / Luke Crain vs Father Paul / Pacing The Haunting of Hill House / Midnight Mass (both in episode 4) Luke Crain is counting to the number 7 and Father Paul is praying. for @daincrediblegg

I'm very very proud of this so reblogs are highly appreciated! It's inspired by a photo I took of myself yesterday that I quite like! If I can organise myself, I've been thinking about opening commissions if there's any interest?

I leave you on seen because I don't have the emotional energy to say anything back without feeling like it's the wrong reply but I'm crying into my pillow begging you to keep messaging me anyways so we both know we're still both here. That's flirting, right?

MIDNIGHT MASS — Book VII: Revelation
"Romantic obsession is my first language. I live in a world of fantasies, infatuation and love poems. Sometimes I wonder if the yearning I've felt for others was more of a yearning for yearning itself. I've pined insatiably and repeatedly: for strangers, new lovers, unrequited flames. While the subjects changed, that feeling always remained. Perhaps, then, I have not been so infatuated with the people themselves, but with the act of longing."
-Melissa Broder, from "Life without Longing," The New York Times
