Here are mine! Mostly the same 😂
And a bonus mention of Suffering; I enjoy going back and forth between that and Scylla a bunch.
The one that you listen to more than the others. The one that you played on repeat when you heard it for the first time. What were those songs for you? These are mine:
Just wait until you hear about the Axiom of Choice
The maths fandom is wild. “Real” and “imaginary” numbers? I think you mean canon and non-canon. You guys seriously go “this is my number oc his name is i and he is the square root of -1” when in numbers canon lore it’s actually impossible to square root a negative but sure whatever. “Complex numbers”? I think you mean a character x oc ship. “f(x) = 3x - 5”? That is self-insert fanfiction.
Days 15-21 of my snarky sarcastic side speaking quotes from my page-a-day calendar!!
The calendar is taking quotes from the @ unspirational Instagram account by Elan Gale.
Jan. 15:
““Morning people should all be”— OI!!”
“Look *I’m* not the one writing this script!!”
“I’M NOT DOING THIS ONE!!”
“Well, I don’t know what to tell you!”
“FINE! I’ll do my own!!”
“How about this one- people who like staying up until 2 a.m. should all be in prison!!”
“HEY—“
(The original quote reads, “Morning people should all be in prison.”)
Jan. 16:
“Your Instagram followers feel bad for you.”
Jan. 17:
“The best things in life are completely out of your price range.”
Jan. 18:
“At least a broken clock is right twice a day.
Why can’t you be more like a broken clock?”
Jan. 19:
““I spend sixteen hours a day dreaming about the eight hours a day when I’m asleep.””
“Actually, I don’t sleep.
The others here sleep, but I don’t.”
“I do enjoy when they get to sleep each night though.”
Jan. 20-21:
“Your ex upgraded.”
(Yes I know, it’s the same pose as 16, I’m tired TvT)
WhOOF HAS THIS WEEK BEEN A WEEK. But I had fun with quite a few of these doodles!! I wonder who those others are
I’ll see you next Sunday (hopefully not so late) for next week’s batch!
Day 3 of my snarky sarcastic side speaking quotes from my page-a-day calendar!
“If you find a taco on the ground, eat it.
This is a gift from nature.”
The calendar is taking quotes from the @ unspirational Instagram account by Elan Gale.
Now, my snarky sarcastic side personified also happens to be the one who cares about my physical health so she also had to make this public service announcement-
“… please do not eat a taco you found on the ground.”
I figured at some point the quotes would turn to something she wouldn’t actually say, but I did not expect it to be a quote like this that started it out 😆
Hope you’re all enjoying your 2024 so far. I finished this sketch earlier today but once again didn’t post until the night. Ah well. Maybe one day I’ll post earlier.
Days 29-31 of my snarky sarcastic side speaking quotes from my page-a-day calendar!!
The calendar is taking quotes from the @ unspirational Instagram account by Elan Gale.
Jan. 29:
“You should hear what Mondays say about YOU.”
Jan. 30:
“Yes, I’m late.
No, I don’t care.”
Jan. 31:
“Never trust a person who smiles the same in every picture.”
Decided to still post this on Sunday even though this was technically finished in the middle of the week. And man, what a rough week it has been. But it’ll get better next week (I hope).
As I mentioned in the last post, I’ve decided to make these daily doodles a solo January thing to better focus on school and all my other responsibilities. If a calendar doodle strikes my fancy in the future, I’ll likely make it and post it here, but they won’t be a regular weekly thing anymore. (Not to mention I’m running out of different general poses to use =^=)
This was fun though! I got to draw many snarky faces.
This is beautiful
I feel like there's something there. like I'm onto something. please fill this in
I think we all need a little reminder of this every day
Hey you know that thing you're good at? That thing you think makes you valuable? The way you are, or the thing you do, etc?
You can be and deserve to be and will be loved and cherished even without it.
You're not worthwhile because you help, or you are good at making your art, or your skills at your job. You're worthwhile inherently, as a person, even without all that.
And I want you to internalize that because otherwise there might come a day where you can't do The Thing You Think Makes You Valuable. You'll get sick and can't draw, you'll burn out and can't do your job, you'll be emotionally unable to do your regular helpfulness for whatever reason, and you'll start to feel like you have no worth anymore.
But that's not true. You have worth, you deserve comfort and companionship and happiness, and that's not a conditional thing. You deserve that, even if you can't be Useful and Productive and all that shit.
It's an easy trap to fall into to justify yourself as "well, at least I help/make art/work hard" and have that be entirely too much of your self-esteem. Being proud of your work is fine. Being proud of yourself solely through your productivity is not, because you're making it conditional. And conditional on something that can change for reasons completely outside your control!
You gotta stop thinking about it like you gotta justify the space you take up on the planet. It's great if all those things make you happy: just make sure they're not the only things that make you feel like you are justifying your existence, or you'll crater if they get taken away.
You are lovable and likable and you have value as a person and a member of society, even if you never can be productive again. You are enough.
Me: *listening to Love In Paradise in the car*
Calypso: “Oh handsome, you may try~ but last I checked, goddesses can’t die!”
Me: *turns car off* “Are you sure about that Calypso” >:3
this is advice I've given friends directly before and I've probably also posted it but I really like giving it so here it is potentially again: do not create something for an imaginary bad faith reader.
there will always be someone who finds fault in your work. there will be people who read the messages on it wrong. there will be people who will take every compelling aspect about your work off of it so they can put in their own.
you cannot make art for these people.
you will never write a story that is free from criticism. you will never draw a piece that everyone finds appealing. you will never compose a song that everyone enjoys hearing. you cannot, fundamentally, set out to create something and only think of how you can avoid someone not liking it.
because, and this is key, there will be someone who sees every angle of your story and feels its intent in their heart and gushes to their friends about it. you will draw someone's favorite art and they will make it their phone wallpaper because they want to see it every day. someone will fall in love with your song and loop it on their way to work because it gets them through the day. and THOSE are the people your work is for. THOSE are the people you have to care about, because they love what you make for what it is - because it's itself.
if you set out to create something and file off every sharp edge, prune every thorn, you will be left with something fragile and weak, and it will be fragile and weak for the sake of someone who does not exist but that you were scared of anyway.
sharing art is complex and tangled and powerful, and anything you care enough to create deserves to flourish as itself. get sillay.
Day 6 (and 7) of my snarky sarcastic side speaking quotes from my page-a-day calendar!!
“EVERY day could be your last!”
The calendar is taking quotes from the @ unspirational Instagram account by Elan Gale.
This calendar has one page for the weekend days, it seems. It’s not my favorite thing with calendars, but was extra useful this weekend as I’m on the road most of the day today. So I was able to doodle this out yesterday, and post today! Most of these weekend-quote posts will likely happen on Sundays.
I took the quote to heart, and since this weekend could be my last, I decided to ink this doodle as well. I don’t usually use ink as I’m extremely of messing up the line work, but since it may be my last day I decided to go for it. I like how it turned out!! I need to practice using ink more.
Days 10 and 11 of my snarky sarcastic side speaking quotes from my page-a-day calendar!!
“Let your dreams go. They might find someone who can accomplish them.”
“Anxiety is just your body’s way of preparing you for all the terrible things about to happen.”
The calendar is taking quotes from the @ unspirational Instagram account by Elan Gale.
I did it! I’m caught up! Not that I was terribly behind. Got the first doodle done in class today and man, someone’s getting owned on the other end 😆
I kind of gave up caring much about making today’s doodle look nice. It’s been a long week and I’m tired and these are mostly for me to relax and scribble, so I’m gonna relax and scribble.
Also as a note she has no idea what she’s talking about where anxiety’s concerned, she’s not the anxious one in my brain xD
I do things, and stuff.I like math, music, art, writing, and cats.Current obsession: Epic the Musical
