Here’s an ask about FrankLuna from my mainblog <3
So about Frank x Luna... I am very much listening
(for anyone confused, this is referring to my sideblog @just-a-local-lunatic)
You have enabled me. I'm probably going to go on a long gush about them now lol
Yeah, so THEM, my babies, my beautiful children- *clears throat* Yeah, I can be normal about them. But yeah, this ship actually made me appriciate the friends to lovers trope a lot more than I did before.
I just think they have a lot of potential to them both. They haven't been explored as their own characters nearly enough and I think they'd be really good friends. I mean, I assume you've seen my FrankLuna post at this point. There are so many reasons that they work. I'm sure I have projected onto them both a lot, but they're mainly empty slates and I'm just trying to embellish the small character bits I already see in them.
I have curated a whole fanfic storyline for them up until they get married basically because I'm a sucker for a good happily ever after. Just because I can, I am going to give a little outline of what the story will be. Hopefully one day I will actually get around to writing it. I have a lot planned.
So it starts when Franklin and Luna are like 14/15 and they reunite after the Fantastic Four returns from space. (This was in the one fanfic I have published on my blog "Kidnapped...Again".) They become best friends and they hang out a lot. Luna managed to convince Crystal to let her go back to Braddock Academy and now she gets to see her dad a lot more and she hangs out with Franklin, Valeria, and Ben and Alicia's kids a lot (Nikki and Jo). And Franklin is still going to that one school that was in FF #20.
It's definitely going to be best friends to lovers, like there is not going to be any inkling of romance until they're older. Franklin does have one girlfriend though, a girl from his school Sara Jessen (who is mentioned in FF #20 as well). She's just a normal girl and though they have a good relationship they ultimately break up because Sara can't handle the stress of the superhero life. But Sara and Franklin stay friends. Also Luna, who got to know Sara as well, are also friends because I do not like women pitted against women.
Here's where stuff really starts to happen. At about 17/18, Franklin starts to feel like he wants to leave home. But he feels like he can't talk to anyone about it because he knows if he says anything his family will convince him to stay and he knows he won't be able to say no. He does tell Val this though, and eventually Franklin formulates a plan to leave home. He just wants some freedom and some time to figure out who he is without his family and without his powers, and he feels he can't do that at home.
So Franklin, with Val's help, leaves home. He does go talk with Spider-Man first though and gives him a phone that will let him reach him in case anything happens. Peter tries to convince him to stay, but realizes that Franklin already has his mind made up and lets him go with the condition that Franklin will call him when he gets wherever he's going.
(Of course Franklin's departure has huge repercussions at home, mainly in Reed who realizes he maybe hasn't been the best dad to Franklin in the last while, but that's not important right now. That will be for another post or ask. >:))
So this action kinda branches off into what I am thinking of as two comic miniseries' that crossover pretty often. First we have The Adventures of Franklin Richards, and overlapping with that is The Adventures of Luna Maximoff/Braddock Academy Adventures (I haven't decided on a name for that one yet).
Franklin's story follows him going to visit Artie and Leech who are back with the Morlocks (because I'm anti-Krakoa and so are they cause I said so). Franklin needs to have friends again. The Future Foundation was so good for him, but now they've all gone their separate ways. But basically Franklin is just hopping around the world visiting all his friends (Leech, Power Pack, Luna etc.), adopting a stray puppy (who he names Baxter), and figuring out that he can be a hero all on his own without his family behind him and without his powers. He eventually settles in London, England and moves in with an old couple who sponsor a disaster relief center that he volunteers at in exchange for shelter/meals. (This is also close to Luna, so he likes that.)
this is tragic i have reached the limit i'll reblog it with the rest
That's a good point, they are more of a science based society.
Ohhh I didn't even think of that! I always forget about Agatha being Franklin's nanny, but that would be a fun direction to go in if they don't give Franklin his god powers back! (And of course I'll take anything that gives Franklin and Luna something in common lol)
Scarlet Witch #9 (2023)
written by Steve Orlando art by Lorenzo Tammetta, Sara Pichellio, & Frank William
Have I ever told y’all how I started ironically shipping Johnny Storm and Lorna Dane because they were the cool uncle and cool aunt to Franklin Richards and Luna Maximoff respectively? And have I ever told you how at some point it became completely unironic and I can’t stop?
As far as I know, they’ve never spoken. They have no canon dynamic, but I imagine it to be a very fun vibe since they’re both very cool people.
reblog and put in the tags your rarest pairing, their canon dynamic (if they’ve ever interacted), and what it is about them that makes you ship them
if you know you know
I am high on the concept of a new ship and it’s Franklin Richards x Luna Maximoff.
here's some picrews of Luna Maximoff <3 Some of them are meant to be more Inhuman Space Princess and others just more casual. Since I can't draw, this is as good as I can do (i can never decide if her hair should be blonde or white lol)
Bonus Franklin Richards picrews under the cut!
Okay, but like, I love Bentley….and the fact that throughout this whole issue he was never asked about what he thought about who should be his guardian...it just makes me mad. Bentley definitely has an opinion, and I’ll be surprised if any bit of him wants to go with the Wizard (someone who literally abused him as a child). Why have they not asked Bentley? This is so maddening! This whole thing is about him and we hardly got to hear anything from him or see anything from his perspective! Anyway I just hope we get to see more of him in the next issue...but I’m not holding out for anything.
Fantastic Four (2018) #38
Luna: Ok, maybe playing ‘whose family is most dysfunctional’ wasn’t the best idea we’ve had. Ahura's been crying in the bathroom for an hour. We can’t get him out…
Obviously this isn’t going to happen for multiple reasons but if Kamala’s being resurrected as a mutant-inhuman hybrid I would love to see some interaction between her and Luna. If Luna was still one herself.
Luna should be/have been a reserve member of the champions. She can’t be much younger than Pinpoint. Idk I just want to see the baby
Luna and Kamala's situations read very differently, but I think you could fudge the details enough to make them line up nicely.
As I recall, the original concept for Luna was that her mutant and inhuman genes actually cancelled each other out, and left her as just a normal human. Later, she did undergo an unregulated, abnormal form of terrigenesis which unlocked her latent Inhuman powers. Kamala, also underwent spontaneous, unregulated terrigenesis-- and this, allegedly, gave her Inhuman powers at the expense of suppressing her X-gene. When you frame it this way, Luna does provide a nice precedent for Kamala's case, which would be helpful for writers to make this new mutant retcon feel less forced.
Unfortunately, none of that is applicable to canon any more because Luna's dad was, allegedly, never a mutant, and Luna, allegedly, never had an X-gene in the first place. I don't think she and Kamala have ever met, which is too bad-- Kamala did used to spend a lot of time with the Inhumans, so they easily could have crossed paths. It would be nice to for Luna to have a relationship with an older Inhuman girl who's out in the world, doing her own thing, and being a hero-- it would be a nice, organic way to set Luna to grow into a superhero role, if anybody wanted to take her in that direction.
Luna's age continues to be a source of confusion and frustration. She's definitely, canonically, a teenager at this point, but it's hard to place her age in relation to other characters. I'm not sure if she has any direct peers-- characters who were born right around the same time as her-- other than her cousins, who have all been aged up supernaturally. She doesn't get usually get to spend much time around other kids, so she's not really part of a "generation," the way X-Men characters are, for example.
It doesn't matter-- I would guess, based on her most recent appearances, that she's between 13 and 15, which is old enough by Marvel standards to be an active super-person with a costume and codename. Lots of characters start out at that age, for better or for worse-- Cassie Lang was only 14 at the start of Young Avengers.
Reed: “Son, I’ll love you even if you aren’t a ridiculous god mode child”
Franklin: “Thanks dad but I’d prefer the power to crush all who oppose me”
