âWalk a little slower Daddyâ
âWalk a little slower, Daddy!â said a little child so small. âIâm following in your footsteps and i donât want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast, sometimes theyâre hard to see; So walk a little slower Daddy, for you are leading me.
Someday when Iâm all grown up, youâre what i want to be. Then i will have a little child whoâll want to follow me.
And i would want to lead just right, and know that i was true; So, walk a little slower, Daddy, for i must follow you!!â

Fabulous take and absolutely what my dream direction would be for them both in the future
So Luna is a pretty popular character, reaching most of the Marvel fan base thanks to the many connections she has, even though she doesn't get used that much. Marvel loves to bring out the next young hero so why not have one who is known yet can also be developed, letting her have a shot at something and there are 2 paths that come to mind.
That would be the Avengers path, first the Young Avengers later on joining a different Avengers group most likely Uncanny. The other would be the Magic path, as it is revealed one per-generation of the Maximoff line takes on Witchcraft powers and holds a Scarlet Title, so have her be the next inheritor going to Strange Academy while getting private lessons from Wanda.
Ok now that 2 paths are out there what about a costume, most superheroes wear some kind of costume and she has a family full of them. Well I would put costume in 3 sections. Design, Colour, and Attributes. The design would be leaning to the Inhumans, she is a literal Princess for them. Plus her mother's family seems to have a theme that she could follow
A prime colour, with black trim, and a given name symbol on the waist
Crystal = Diamond Medusa = M So Luna could be a Crescent, as for colours I would look to her father for this
Switching out the Black trim for white, as for the Prime I think it should depend on the path she would be on. I would go green for the Avengers, and Blue for Magic. Now Attributes to really scream Avengers or Magic.
If Avengers then wear her mother's Avenger's jacket, a real passing of the torch moment.
If Magic, then Red/Scarlet like Romani articles of clothing. She would adopt these not just with her costume but also everyday clothing as well. Since she would be at Strange Academy and while they have a uniform it does look to have some customization.
So powers, as an Inhuman who has gone through Terrigenesis she has gained powers that in the form of empathic aura reading and control.
But this has given also some precog abilities. It has not been explained how this is, but I think it might be she sees the future someone is leaning to the most based on their emotional state.
She holds a high amount of Inhuman DNA so will have their advanced bodies even before Terrigenesis, as well has received martial training from the likes of Karnak. Of course if she goes the magic path then Witchcraft will be a birthright as much as her Inhuman gifts. Witchcraft a magic that connects to a Goddess and the Earth.
Now while all of these are good things for a hero path to have she doesn't feel at least right now a solo act. Teams and Companions will be important part to her, and how she will act with either the Young Avengers and Strange Academy will depend on who could/should/will be there, but I do know someone who could get added to these Franklin Richards.
Currently depowered him getting his own new path could work here. For the Young Avengers give him a suit like the Thing Suit + Thing Rings, but make it something that connects to the other three Fantastic Four members letting him take on their powers though it being weaker. Each of the main members of the Fantastic Four have been part of the Avengers so he captures still the Young Avengers theme. If magic, well Agatha Harkness was his nanny maybe her recommendation to try plus get into the academy could work here, him learning Quantum Magic, still leaning into the F4's more science connections but looking at it another way.
Their families are close so they know each other and depending on who is on the teams they would most likely have the closest connections with each other, perhaps even moving from friendship to romance.
Fantastic Four vs X-Men (1987) #3, published April 1987
Before we start... Iâm going to focus mainly on Lunaâs modern appearances (Son of M-current) since I havenât read all of her comic appearances, and she was either a baby or a plot device with no personality (other than needing to be rescued) in those past comics.Â
A lot of this is also speculation about her character (obviously) and how I see her, so there will be a lot of unanswered questions that I pose about her.
Luna Maximoff has the potential to be such an interesting character and comic book authors are missing out by not using and developing her.Â
First, her powers. Sheâs an empath. Empathy is a power that we really donât see a lot in comics since telepathy is favoured over it the majority of the time. (Itâs a nice alternative with so many telepaths.) But empathy is a really good power because of the (obvious) emotional depth it has. A character with empathy can be someone who is very emotionally intelligent.Â
Itâs already been touched on in both Son of M and All-New X-Factor, but Luna has been shown to not quite understand why she shouldnât just heal people of their emotional trauma.Â
This would be such an interesting arc for her. Just to watch her come to terms with the fact that people have to go through pain to grow and that she also has to go through pain to grow.Â
As an empath, it would also be extremely interesting to see how Luna herself deals with emotions. Does she embrace them? Can she force herself to feel happy with her powers? Does she get overwhelmed by the emotions of others around her? How does she deal with knowing everyoneâs emotions? Does she try to help them? Does she leave them alone? There are just so many questions here that I just want people to explore.
Luna has also been shown to be very understanding of other people (mostly due to her empathy), and I love this as a trait in characters. She loves people and wants to help them. But this could also lead to her giving away her energy to people trying to help them and burning out because she doesnât have anyone to support her.
And that leads into my next point. I think Luna is a lonely character. Does she even have any friends on Attilan? The only times weâve seen Luna with other kids around her age is when she was with the Future Foundation, X-Factor and when she was on Hala with Crystal. But none of these friends turn out to be long term for her.
She did go to the Braddock Academy for a while too, but we never saw this, and it didnât last long. Thatâs the thing with all of the friendships Luna has had, they never seem to be lasting. By all rights, she should be close friends with Franklin and Valeria Richards, but theyâre almost never seen together. I think itâs been a missed opportunity there.Â
The only person who Luna could potentially be friends with on Attilan (other than Lockjaw) is her cousin, Ahura Boltagon. Heâs the closest family member in age to her. Ahura is also an interesting character, who I think should be used more, but I think he and Luna compliment each other well. They both are empaths to a certain degree and both have grown up in the Inhuman royal court. Luna cured him of insanity when he was a child, and I think they could have a really close bond. Ahura is also kind of angsty and dark, while Luna tends to be more happy and optimistic.Â
Speaking of Lunaâs interactions with her family, let's talk about the other side of the family. Luna has somehow never met Billy and Tommy and I think this is a travesty. We already know that Erik loves Luna a lot and Lorna and her get along great. We havenât seen her with Wanda recently enough to know how she feels about her though. I just wish we could get a comic with all of them in it. But also regarding the Magnet family, I feel like Luna is the only one in the family who is good with emotions. It would probably hurt her to see all of them fight as much as they do. She loves them all so much and doesnât want to see any of them hurt.Â
And on the topic of loving her family. I really think Luna should be allowed to spend more time with her dad.Â
Pietro loves her so much (despite his past errors) and he loves her the same. I think now that Pietro has been trying to be a better person, she should be able to see him more. This would also be interesting because you could explore what itâs like for her to be the child of divorced parents. Who does she like living with more? How did she feel about her mom marrying Ronan that one time? How does she feel about her dad dating other women? Does she want her parents to get back together? Thereâs just so much under the surface.
And about the Inhuman side of her family. It would be so interesting to see how Lunaâs relationship changes with them as she grows up. Would she come to realize that a lot of the ways that the Inhumans do things are wrong? Would she start to fight back against Crystal about these kind of things? Would she start to want to leave her home for good, or would she want to stay so she can try and change it for the better? Does she start to rebel against them in small ways, by bringing things from earth to Attilan like books with more modern ideas and music?
Lunaâs relationship with Crystal has the potential for a big fallout between the two of them. Crystal hasnât always been the greatest mother, especially recently.
Luna has been shown to love her mother a lot and to want to be with her desperately, but I think that in some ways this is just Lunaâs want to be comfortable. Luna was kidnapped a bunch as a child (which she probably has trauma from), so she probably feels the safest with her mother, something that is completely understandable. But as she grows up, things will change. Luna might start wanting to leave home more and to make more friends, but Crystal is quite protective of Luna, and might not let her. And if Lunaâs outlook on the Inhuman way of life changes, there could be a lot of differences that might push them apart.
Another thing I want to touch on is how despite all the hardships sheâs gone through, Luna is still a sweet and kind character. Sheâs been through so much, and she feels so much beyond just her own feelings. Itâs amazing that she hasnât broken down or that she isnât pessimistic. Sheâs just kind and wants to help people as best she can. Sheâs still learning how to help these people, but she has good intentions. Itâs really just a nice breath of fresh air to see a character that has gone through so much, but is still able to smile and love the way that Luna seems to love.Â
Luna is the kind of character who would hardly get angry, so that when she does get angry, you feel it. She knows the power that emotions hold. She could literally radiate anger. But I donât see her as one to hold grudges. She knows what that can do to a person.
Luna knows how actions make people feel. She doesnât want other people to ever feel the ways sheâs had to feel. I think this is evident in the kinds of friends she has made. Both Georgia (All-New X-Factor) and Adolf (Future Foundation) were both lonely people. Georgia was mourning and new to the team, and Adolf was still finding his place among the Future Foundation. Luna reaches out to the lonely people and the outsiders because she herself has felt lonely and been an outsider.Â
And speaking of Luna feeling like an outsider⌠We have to remember that Luna grew up as a human in an Inhuman world. Thereâs this really great post by @writingcaterpillar that talks about how Luna didnât know she was human, and how in Son of M she points out that some of her friends hate humans. So from this we can infer that those who did know that Luna was human would not have liked her very much. And even after she gained her powers, I doubt this would change things very much.Â
Another post by @imperiuswrecked goes deeper into this and talks about how the Inhuman genetic council might have actually denied Luna terrigenesis more based on her being a âhalf-breedâ of a mutant and an Inhuman than based on it being a risk to her. (Another thing is that the genetic council sucks in general. They donât have a good record of treating people well, just look at Ahura.) I feel like there is a lot you could uncover about Luna and how her family treats her. Sheâs not a pure blooded Inhuman. Do they discriminate against her? Do they deny her things and rights since she is not a âtrue Inhumanâ?Â
And Luna has only just started to defend herself. @imperiuswreckedâ has another post that talks about how in Son of M Luna defends herself physically for the first time. And in All-New Inhumans, Luna starts to argue a little bit with her mother. Sheâs learning to stand up for herself, but slowly. In All-New X-Factor, she even goes to see Pietro without Crystalâs permission, doing something that she wants, not that her mother wants.
That was longer than I expected, (no it wasnât, who am I kidding) but I just really love Luna. I wish Marvel would look into her more. I feel like she hasnât been explored nearly enough. She is a character who is kind and feminine. She is very in touch with her emotions, but lonely. She is compassionate towards others and still learning to fight for herself and for how she feels.Â
I just have so many ideas about Luna and where she could go and how she could grow as a character, but clearly Marvel isnât as interested in her as I am, so I guess Iâll have to write some fanfiction. :D
so awkward that this weekâs Fantastic Four had more âtrialâ than this weeks Trial of MagnetoâŚ
Thinking about YA girls friendship. For spring break, the girls take Luna on a tropical island getaway (and to take a break from the city). They take her shopping, surfing, zip lining, and more so she gets to experience having fun. They even come across Rachel Summers-Grey who is also on spring break.
Ahh yes! Also, Luna canonically loves the ocean after growing up on the Moon and she would enjoy that so much.
Honestly, though, my ultimate crossover would be all the legacy characters/children of older heroes coming together. A lot of them have so much in common and it would just be fun to see!

franklin, waking up on christmas morning in his spider-man pajamas and running downstairs with his cat named spider-man, going to unwrap his new spider-man funko:
This one tiktoker I follow is a huge F4 fan and for "favorite rivalry" they put pictures of Franklin and Slott and when I tell you I screamed
Franklin @ Slott like:
So I just read Fantastic Four (2018) #45. And wow. I was already ready to be disappointed, but it just sucks so bad.
First, the whole Reckoning War storyline was terrible (which I was expecting it to be since itâs Dan Slott). Especially for what it did to Reed. Reed was just allowing himself to act like a terrible human being since he thought he was going to die. He did and said terrible things. And now thatâs all just going to be swept under the rug and ignored? Like is Reed going to face no consequences for his actions? But more than that Iâm so tried of Reed being written like a terrible human being. Yes, Reed has a hard time with empathy and emotions sometimes, but that doesnât mean heâs a literal sociopath. There are ways to write Reed that have him still come off as a likeable character. See Jonathan Hickmanâs FF run. (My favourite run.) I feel like Reed hasnât been himself for years and it just makes me so sad.
Second, the whole thing with Johnnyâs increased powers is so annoying and Iâm tired of it. I mean, Johnny has not been written well for a while and this has just turned him into a whiny hothead. (Which he sometimes is, but thatâs ignoring all the character growth heâs had over the years.) And now heâs gone off to live with Sky... *long sigh* I never really liked her as a girlfriend to Johnny. Sheâs a fine character on her own, but I really hope they donât get back together...
Third, the thing that is making me the most annoyed. Franklin. I had hopes for Franklin. I did. But now it looks like his powers have returned. And there was basically no point to taking them away because he has learned no lesson from losing them. I have said in previous posts that I hoped that Franklin would learn that even without his powers he can live his life and be a hero, but if he has really gotten them back, there has been no development. Franklin has continually been in the same grumpy mindset of âI used to be a godâ and nothing has changed. I wanted them to commit to his powers being gone and have him learn other ways to help the FF. But no. Because we canât have nice things. And now Franklin is still a bratty kid with a God complex that he never used to have. And heâs still not a mutant again (which is a whole other post).
In conclusion, I am tried. T I R E DÂ
