Best game idea ever!
instead of going to jail, you get exiled to Scythia
passing Go represents the bribes you collect every election season
instead of owning property on city blocks, you own land in various provinces
Boardwalk and Park Place ==> Egypt and Syria
Baltic and Mediterranean ==> Britannia Prima and Britannia Secunda
instead of houses and hotels, villae and latifundia
instead of railroads, just roads
water works ==> bathhouse
electric company ==> amphitheater
free parking ==> forum
income tax ==> wealth tax
re-skinned Chance and Community Chest cards:
“You have been elected Aedile – pay each player 50 denarii”
“Get out of Exile Free”
“Saturnalia Fund Matures – Collect 100 denarii”
“Greek Theater Night – collect 50 denarii from every player for opening night seats”
“Land Tax Refund – collect 20 denarii”
“Receive 25 denarii in bribes”
This is awesome!
My recreations of ancient Roman hairstyles for my Roman Society project! Julia Domna (portrait bust style 2) and Faustina the Younger.
Nero ordering the death of her half-sister Claudia Octavia probably was the deciding factor for refusing to marry him. He also possibly suspected she had knowledge of the Pisonian Conspiracy of 65 C.E.
A statue depicting Claudia Antonia (30-66 CE), daughter of emperor Claudius and Aelia Paetia (adoptive sister of Sejanus).
I was actually surprised to discover that she lived that long - but then again Claudia’s descent made her a very attractive bright candidate for ambitious politicians. If Tacitus & co are to believed among the suitors were for example Cornelius Piso and emperor Nero. Latter also had her executed after Claudia refused emperor’s proposal.

Atton Rand does have a knack for getting into trouble.
Just wanted to post that asexuals in general are awesome, valid, and LGBT+. There is nothing wrong with having no interest in sex. You’re just different, and it’s ok to be different.
Dear Right Wing Christians, stop violating the First Amendment, and harassing Pagans.
According to the lawsuit, the subject of McCoy’s religion came up in late May of 2020, when McCoy was on break with the store’s assistant manager, Lori Dubs, and the manager, Kerri Ann Show. Show asked McCoy what her religion was, and Tammy responded, “I am Pagan.”
Show reportedly responded by telling McCoy that she was going to hell, and Dubs “vigorously nodded her head in agreement.”
The lawsuit then goes on to describe a series of other discriminatory actions. Among the complaints are that McCoy’s hours were cut, and when she asked why, she was told that she “needed to find God” before returning to her “previous schedule.”

Mical is a terrible liar.
That’s quite an impressive feat there.
Apart from Cleopatra, who would probably be double majoring in linguistics and history, these are largely accurate.
The Romans and Friends as College Majors
Caesar: Political Science
Cleopatra: Medicine
Brutus: English
Cassius: Philosophy
Antony: Kinesiology (he's a student athlete and got paid to be there)
Cicero: Law
Octavian: Psychology
Crassus: Business
Pompey: General Studies
This is very accurate.
assuming bi youth only experience marginalization and oppression when they’re in same gender relationships makes as much sense as assuming that gay people only experience marginalization and oppression when they’re in a relationship
it doesn’t
Stories always begin the same way: There was and there was not. There is possibility in those words, the chance for hope or despair.
