Ok, here we go. First of all, oh my god your drawing is amazing, I cannot properly express how thankful I am because of the fact you made it. Shame that isn't their canon look, they look more like a fusion between Frisk and Chara. Second of all, the answers
1) FC has the memories of both Frisk and Chara, and yes, their personality is a mixture of their consciences, but somehow they are neither...? It's difficult to explain, but take as example, idk, a cake. There are many different ingredients, and the cake is a mixture of them, but it's at the same time something brand new. I'm trying to show it in the story in the clearest way possible, but it's difficult because in my vision Chara and Frisk are very different, and they are still soulless so they don't get to show much of their personality anyway. Right now, they are kinda apathetic and very confused on what is going on.
2) yes, the spirit produces everything regarding your trait/magic, and in my vision IT is the culmination of your being, not the soul. Let's say the spirit is you. It obviously changes from monster to monster to human to human, producing this way different kind of magic attacks (for monsters) and traits (for humans)
3) kinda like monsters, yes. It's a nice way of putting it, never actually thought about it before. Anyway, as I said the spirit produces determination (physical) and USUALLY, the soul stores it. HOWEVER, since both the soul and the body were gone their determination (physical) condensed to survive, this way forming a very unstable vessel. The soul usually stabilizes and controls it, but unfortunately that is not an option anymore. So yeah, you're right. Exploding means all the determination they have suddenly lashes out in a burst of energy so intense, it can actually destroy not only the AU itself, but the entire UTMV. Yes they are that determined
4) yes, yes, and yes, their determination (physical) is so condensed it acts like a physical body. Imagine like it changed its molecular composition, while still maintaining its characteristics.
Hope my answers satisfied you, and don't worry about the number of questions. I enjoy answering them. I have a little favor to ask you though, next time could you please ask them with the ask button? Thx.
Hey, I noticed you seem to be interested in the AU I'm working on, and I wanted to 1) thank you 2) tell you that if you have any doubts about it, you can ask and you shall be given a detailed and long answer
Greetings! Yes, I'm quite interested in AUs which involve the Player in some way. I love seeing the idea being explored. I have many questions regarding your AU, Soulless!tale. Since you did say you'd give a long answer. I'll try to limit the amount of questions you'll respond to. (I'll be referring to the Player sometimes as we/us/our)
Does FC have a combination of Frisk's and Chara's personality or is it fully separate? Or is this completely irrelevant as they are soulless? (Flowey has a personality despite being soulless)
Does the spirit produce everything involved with magic? Like magic attacks and food? (I would guess the food is laced with magic as they miraculously heal us/our vessel)
Since FC's body is just condensed determination. Does this mean they are similarly built to monsters? And the reason they can be at risk of exploding (no idea what this means) is because they don't have a soul to stabilize them?
HP and physical health are different from one another, yes? And HP only can get hurt by magic attacks while physical health can only get damaged by physical attacks? What does this mean for FC? As their body is made from magic and can only be damaged by physical attacks. Is their body just so condensed that only physical damage can be dealt?
This is all for now. I have other questions but they aren't as complex/interesting as these one's I gave. I am looking forward to your answers and your AU! It sounds very interesting! Have this ms paint doodle of what I imagine FC looks like!
Yes.
It doesn't matter how strange the interaction is.
I don't care if you tell me the most random of things.
Interact with me.
Reblog if you want more interaction with your mutuals and followers :D
Random rambling cuz I'm bored but I really don't understand how the monsters got their Happy Ending on the Surface after Frisk freed them. Like. Have you seen them. They have little to no knowledge on humans, they thought it was a really good idea to have a child as an ambassador, they are literal monsters. So many things should have went wrong while interacting with the humans. Undyne destroys things if she's too energetic and literally thinks humans are like in anime, Papyrus would definitely piss someone off even if not on purpose, and the humans definitely had at least the instinct to react with hostility. Heck look what happened to Chara and Asriel. And let's not talk about the fact the monsters killed human children to get out of the Underground. And yes, I know this game was made to be silly and Toby Fox is silly and the game isn't supposed to focus on the Surface, I'm not against the Happy Ending we've got, I just don't understand how it happened without accidents
fic writers in the tags tell me the fic you're most proud of writing. any fandom, ship, no ship, any length etc. whatever work makes you go "oh i wrote this" and elaborate why if you want
Hi my friends...

Our short term goal is $9000. We have less than $143 left to reach it. I hope you can help, whether by sharing widely or donating if possible
I'm sorry I can't donate, but I will try to share this
I am using a little OC of mine for this, since I think she really fits the Bad Sanses (ahem she's crazy ahem). We're in a scenario where she's been with the gang for a while now. There is no romanticism in this, I think it'll mainly be her interacting with the gang following the prompts. It's also a weird mix of canon and fanon. I tried my best, but beware of the cringe >_<
Bad Sansuary belongs to @owl-bones
Dust belongs to @ask-dusttale
Ashes belongs to me
(I snuck in an Arcane reference let's see who gets it 🤭)
What logic Ashes' brain followed, Dust had given up on finding that out a very long time ago. Still, the question came back at times, when Ashes decided she had nothing better to do than confuse him and piss him off. And right now was one of those occasions.
He didn't know why she suddenly started hugging him out of nowhere, or why she leaned on him and slouched her arm across his shoulders so often, or why she started booping and patting him. What he knew is that no matter how many times he tried to dodge her, she somehow always got him. He'd be lying if he said that didn't worry him a bit, since dodging was one of the things he knew how to do best. And yet no matter where he teleported away to, Ashes was always there. Then, after ambushing him into one of her attacks, she just went away and disappeared for a while, apparently no longer entertained by it, only to resume a few minutes later.
At least he had the satisfaction of not being the only one to have to suffer through this. Horror and Killer had been victims of Ashes' mood too, and Dust took advantage of the fact that Ashes was focused on them to get at least some peace. Currently, he was hiding in one of the rooms of the castle and hoping she wouldn't find him here. Last time he saw her she was finding entertainment with Killer, who decided to play along with this like the idiot he is. Hopefully that would keep her busy for a while, and give him a chance to relax.
"Soooooo, what are we doing"
Ashes was right beside him, a glass of an unidentified beverage in her hand and looking at him with wide eyes and her usual smile. He jumped back, trying to get some distance between them, but she grabbed his hand with surprising quickness and basically slouched onto him, leaving him to sustain her weight and slowing him down. Dust cursed in his mind. He couldn't even teleport like this, Ashes would teleport with him. Before he could struggle to get her off, she sipped on her beverage and then shoved the glass in his hands.
"Y'know Dust, I don't get it. How come every single time I decide to have a little fun, you always are such a mood killer and run away? It's not funny at all!"
Dust glared at her, stopping his struggle knowing it was pointless anyway.
"Why are you even doing all this?"
Ashes looked at him innocently
"What do you mean, I'm not doing anything!~"
He stared back unimpressed.
"What? I'm just showing my teammates a bit of affection! Nothing wrong with cheering you all up right?"
"We both know you don't just show affection for free. Don't pretend you do"
She dropped the act and shrugged
"Ever the sharp one ay? And as why I'm behaving this strange... You already know the answer no? After all you're smart"
Dust furrowed his nonexistent brows at her. She could be really annoying sometimes.
"Soooooo, I may or may not be doing this only for amusement, but you got some things going on as well. I mean you are acting more standoffish and grumpy than usual. You have personal beef with hugs?"
Dust looked at her dead in the eyes.
"I don't trust you with this. Should I?"
As he said that, she grinned, chuckling a little.
"Fair enough, fair enough. After all it's not like I'm the most reliable person you will meet. Wouldn't want you to end up bad just because you trusted the wrong person~"
She shifted, turning her leaning on him into a surprisingly strong hug that he couldn't get free from.
"You're doing great Chuck!"
She let go of him a moment later, heading out of the room, shouting something at him in the meanwhile
"Here, for your troubles!"
What did she mean by-
An explosion of paint went off from a device she strapped behind his back, and when Dust turned to check it out, his jacket was completely ruined. That little-
Ashes chuckled, disappearing into the shadows before Dust could get her, not showing herself for the entire day afterwards.
Wtffffff
i might not show it, but the discovery that in undertale, sparing only papyrus while killing everyone else leads to sans telling papyrus their friends are on "vacation" n would be bsck soon has been on constant replay in my heart for years
this game's guilt-inducing prowess is unparalleled. there is quite literally no other route you should ever take playing this but TRUE PACIFIST
LIKE OHHH U MISS HER?! OHHHH IS THAT SO?? OH OKAY HAHA... I SEE HOW IT IS... it's not even me who's played this route and i still feel my sins freaking salsa dancing on my back
additionally, if you spare everyone but choose to kill papyrus (which, by the way, warrants turning urself in to the authorities as there would literally be no greater evil than Thy), the noticeable shift in mood is palpable in snowdin:
PAPYRUS IS THE HEART AND JOY OF SNOWDIN IM GONNA CRY
and now for my least favorite piece of dialogue abt papyrus' death:
reading this at first i was like pshh the hell does this even mea- OHHHHHHH PAPYRUS' DUST IS ON US DOGGO IS SMELLING IT ON US OHHHH MY GODDDDDD HE THINKS WE'RE HIM
Amen.
One common Undertale misconception that really frustrates me is when Sans is portrayed with a strong innate sense for RESETs and alternative timelines. Like, that he remembers the RESET timelines better than the other characters who only have occasional feelings of deja vu or even that he can sense when a timeline is RESET.
And that’s, like, almost the opposite of the actual text of the game. While pretty much every main character can have slightly-different dialogue in a Not-True-RESET, especially if the Player had previously befriended them, based on the idea that they have lingering memories/feelings from before the RESET -
Sans has no real dialogue changes based on this conceit. All of his changes are based around noticing Frisk has different reactions based on their memories of the precious timelines.
Other characters do also make observations like that about Frisk, like Mettaton and Toriel. But Sans is distinctive because this is the only way his comments change between RESETs and there are a lot of them from him.
Because that is what really frustrates me about this misconception. People mention it as one more thing that makes Sans cool - but the actual truth is far more badass. Sans is one of the people in the Underground who remembers RESETs the least. I think memory-resistance to RESETs is probably tied to Determination. Flowey, the second-most Determined person in the Underground after Frisk, can remember everything perfectly.
Everyone else has some vague feelings and deja vus. And Sans, he’s the least motivated person in the Underground - both in the sense he’s lazy and in the sense he’s fucking depressed.
That probably means he has very little Determination. Thus, he doesn’t remember anything that happens between RESETs.
And yet, he is still the character most aware of them. Because he has the technological know-how to read and analyze timelines.
And because he has the observation and analytical skill to notice a RESET from other people’s reactions and behavior. Whatever it’s Papyrus thinking he recognizes someone or Frisk’s behavior implying that they know something they shouldn’t have. Sans main RESET-related skill is just being able to identify these moments and come to the correct conclusion about them. And with that he manages to be the most aware character in the entire Underground.
Like, the one point where it might seem like Sans remembers something from a previous Timeline is the Fake Spare scene during his boss battle.
But it’s all pretend. Unlike the previous lines from other characters that I mentioned, this dialogue plays even if the Murder Route is the first time the player touched the game. Sans isn’t remembering anything in this scene. But he makes an educated guess that the Immoral Time God probably tried using their powers for good at first, so they were likely ‘friends’ in a previous timeline. And in most cases, his guess is right on the money - tricking many players into thinking this is another case of the game actually reacting to their past actions.
And as always, Sans can only tell if his lil’ trick worked or not based on the expression of the Player Character.
Arguably, Sans even uses his lack of Determination and cross-RESET memory to his advantage in his boss battle. After all, the whole point of this fight isn’t to kill the Player - Sans understands this is impossible. This is a war of attrition, trying to get the Player so frustrated and annoyed with the unfair fight that they just ragequit or RESET the Timeline. And this war of the Player’s patience versus Sans’ stamina and will is infinitely easier for him when he doesn’t actually perceive all the Player’s previous attempts against him.
Like, for the Player this might be the billion time they go up against him, they’re aware of some of his patterns and tricks now but they’re probably also frustrated and angry and exhausted. Meanwhile, from Sans’ POV, this is still the first time this is happening. He knows it’s not from the Player’s behavior and Frisk’s expression - but he doesn’t feel it like the Player does.
He doesn’t feel the frustration and repetition of the endless stalemate. So he’s always as fresh as a daisy no matter how rugged the Player is getting.
And that’s part of why Sans is so cool in the first place, like, in general. He’s technically the weakest person in the Underground, lacking in every standard evaluation of power in the setting - no ATK, no DEF, no HP, no DETERMINATION. But he’s darn clever enough to overcome these weaknesses and even use them in ways that make them into strengths, enough to be one of the most dangerous and most aware guys in this whole setting.
Sans can’t remember anything, and that makes him awesome.

Every character belongs to its respective owner
Ashes belongs to me
Bad Sansuary belongs to @owl-bones
Everything was eerily quiet in the AU, everyone either hiding or already dead. Horror could hear the sounds of destruction and Blasters firing some blocks away, Dust and Killer having been sent to cause some destruction and generally be a distraction, while Horror and Ashes had been sent to rummage through some houses after swapping roles with them, them being the one terrorizing survivors before. They wanted to try and make positive AUs more negative, bringing Dream to a disadvantage in terms of power and making sure that what happened with Ink a few missions ago wouldn't happen again.
Horror broke into the Snowdin Shop, kicking the door open, and Ashes sauntered in after him, looking around with an "excited" expression like she had never seen the place before going up to the counter and jumping over it to go to the other side, Horror following her. They both rummaged around, Horror stealing all the food while Ashes took all the gold and sparkly things she could find, stocking her inventory with them.
At one point Horror found himself staring at a little doll he found on the counter, reliving memories about a little bunny girl back home, a girl whose life had been cut short when the Core shut down, one of the many he couldn't save from starvation and Undyne's guards. He held it tightly, his sharp tips of his phalanges piercing through some of the fabric as he remembered how it was back home. He didn't often let himself remember the life in his AU, but sometimes the memories got the best of him like his hunger did. The living hell it had slowly become after Frisk crossed that Barrier. His hope that slowly dwindled as things got worse. The things he had done, and the things that had been done to him. And then he remembered of before the famine, before Undyne's coup, before Frisk. He remembered a time that if not perfect, was peaceful. Where he could still smile and laugh. Where people weren't dying left and right like mosquitoes. Where they could all be happy.
Once, he wished for things to be fixed, to find a solution to all his problems, to find a Happy Ending. Now, what he truly yearned for was for everything to go back the way it was before. For everything to be normal again.
But of course, he couldn't be that lucky. Even if the Boss did let him go and leave the gang, his AU was one of the few who didn't have Reset. He was stuck. And would probably be for a long time.
"Whatcha looking at?"
He was snapped back to reality as Ashes, who was leaning over the counter, looked at him curiously, a bit of malice in her eyes as she looked at the doll he was still holding and then back at him.
"Ohhhhh, reminiscing the past, ay big guy? Didn't take you for the nostalgic type~"
He tensed up a bit at that, but she simply tilted her head and stared him right in the eyes, waiting for him to say something while holding her hands under her chin. He hesitated as he answered
"Just... Thinking about back home, that's all."
Her smile got a little wider, and she leaned over more, arms on the counter
"Lemme guess, you want things to go back to the way they were before, hm? Before everything got messed up"
He was taken aback by this, and gave her a cautious look.
"How do you know that?"
She giggled, getting back into a more normal position.
"C'mon, we aren't that different you and I!~"
Then she stopped, seemingly reflecting for a moment.
"... Alright no that's a lie. We are very different. But it's not so unusual for people as messed up as us to wish to go back, to yearn and crave for normality. When everything was simpler and all that. I find it boring to be honest"
Horror tilted his head, reflecting on that. It made sense, at least in part. He surely wasn't happy with who he was now or what he did, and definitely found his old life much more bearable. He looked at Ashes, a question forming in his head, and he asked her:
"... So what do you yearn for anyway?"
At that, she blocked, eyes snapping to his and staring him with a weird expression as her smile froze on her face. Horror actually started to get a little unnerved before she suddenly got normal again and spoke up.
"Nothing, everything, who cares? We are never gonna obtain what we want anyway. So why even bother?!"
Horror was actually a bit worried at that, but when he tried to answer the Boss teleported in the shop.
"Horror, Ashes. The Stars are here. We need to go"
"Of course Boss!"
Ashes said that with a cheerful tone, as if nothing happened, and winked at Horror. Nightmare surrounded them with his tentacles. Then everything faded to black, and they left the AU.
