So you're taking one of my favourite DC characters and you're stripping him off his motives, vengeance and his own somewhat warped or at least different sense of justice and make this...kid who just got mislead because Bruce is a fucking constipated furry and cannot communicate for shit, nor care for said kid, got drugged, beaten to death, drugged again and while drugged told to be doing some atrocious shit...WHILE DRUGGED?!

im not afraid of characters turning evil, you shouldn't either, idc if canon jason is actually a sweetheart, i love him too, i just want ONE comic where they let him be deranged for a bit, actually deranged, make him give us nightmares with the atrocities he commits and then make him be conscious, make him human, because the scary part is that ITS A HUMAN doing that, a person like anyone else

make jason scary, make him a murderer who doesn't look back on the scum he takes rid of, make him psychotic, and i want him to have a well deserved mental breakdown when he realises everytime he kills someone he turns a bit more like his own killer

It’s a sunny day in Gotham, one of three they’ve had all year, and Bruce has been bullied by his doctor to go outside and get some sun. He’s slathering himself in sunscreen and is just about to finish up his face when he gets a text.:

Clark: JL meeting at 3PM Tuesday. Luthor is active again :(

Bruce: ✓ Seen 8:27 AM

Mind spinning about what Luthor could be up to, Bruce puts his phone down and dives into the pool.

The next morning, Bruce wakes up with his nose feeling strange. He examines it in the mirror and sees it’s lobster red. He never finished applying the sunscreen.

Bruce: Hn

Damian: Father. You look like a fool.

By Tuesday, Bruce’s nose is peeling. He shrugs it off and heads to the meeting. Once they’ve all settled down, he realizes his cowl is irritating his nose. Since the attendees are only Diana, Barry, Hal, J’onn, and Clark, he pulls the cowl off so he can concentrate.

Clark, finishing up his points on Luthor’s latest scheme: Any questions?

Hal: I’ve got one. Spooky, how come your nose is all white and flaky?

Bruce, flipping through his mental Rolodex of responses: Hn.

Hal: What, do you have that white nose fungus syndrome that bats get? Lol.

Bruce, stopping his mental Rolodex at Gain Sympathy:

Bruce: Are you treating me unfairly due to my medical condition?

Hal: What?

Bruce: Clark, is this workplace harassment?

Clark: Hal. :(

Hal: But he’s always…????!!! He’s… a BAT?!

Clark: Hal, I’m going have to report this to HR :/

Yeah but you know the part where he’s talking to Falcone about his parents and he’s all teary-eyed and his lips are trembling and he’s speaking so softly

Showing that vulnerability in a character like Batman, a character who is usually hyper-masculine and stoic, is what really set this movie apart for me. This Bruce feels so deeply; his trauma is written all over his face. This is not a cocky playboy party animal billionaire douche, this is a mentally ill young man whose entire worldview is being shattered.

And then at the end he sees that his violence is only begetting more violence. He sees that yes, he’s scaring the shit out of the criminals but he’s also setting an example for them. The city that he loves is terrified and he’s partially responsible for that.

So he decides to change.

Bruce’s love for his city will always be his greatest strength. It makes him vulnerable to more devastating loss—the one thing he fears above all else—and he still makes the conscious choice to be kind.

His kindness takes so much more bravery than his violence.
